I've seen some confusion about my OC Jade, did she have that dramatic backstory or is she just having a good lesbian life? So lets actually cause her story to exist outside my head! Spoilers for Dawntrail Below!

She was born in Solution 9 a few years after the Dome, being raised in an orphanage with no memories of her parents thanks to regulators.

As a young adult she got assigned to the Rangers, where she met and fell in love with another lady. Both of them reliant on regulators and lesser beast souls to enhance their combat skills.

After a few years both of them were sent on a dangerous assignment against a great beast threatening Yyupye's Halo. While fighting it Jade took a heavy hit grazing her head, destroying the regulator and resulting in her collapsing. Between the blow and the feedback from the soul fusion being ended so abruptly incapable of moving she could only watch as her by now betrothed and the beast battled to the death. While the beast died so did her beloved, all of her spare souls used up in the fight. Jade's consciousness fading she saw another person approach.

When Jade next awoke she was back inside the city, being congratulated on stopping the beast but alone. She inquired about her partner but no one could tell her anything about her, as the regulators that allowed them to fight had taken the memory of her from everyone ... except Jade.

The next few months were a haze of despair, depression and trying to drown out the memories in alcohol, the "reward" for slaying the beast enough to drown herself in sorrow and alcohol for years to come. The only conscious memory of the time being a strong rejection of the replacement regulator offered to her

During one of those days drinking at the Neon Stein she noticed someone sitting down next to her. Looking up she saw the woman she had seen before passing out from the battle, Shale. She started talking, offering to help her deal with the grief in better ways.

What followed were weeks of slowly opening up and learning to process all of her emotions. The grief, something she had never before felt and that she and everyone else in Solution 9 had been spared thanks to the Regulators, the rage and guilt at surviving and the terror of the realization to be the only one left to remember someone dear to many.

Over the months this support grew to be trust, friendship, an introduction to Oblivion and eventually love between her and Shale.

And that is where her story currently sits. Having learned to deal with the grief and in a healthy and loving relationship with Shale and working with Oblivion.
