Writing this down so I don't forget to the haze of sleep- but same age mobrei where Reigen transfers to salt middle school to escape bullying and ends up meeting and befriending Mob. Reigen ends up learning about Mob being psychic and he's very accepting of it. They end up bonding and growing closer and closer as they both end up falling in love, but neither of them Realize it. Reigen is too deep in his own low self-esteem to even consider for a moment that he could get his hopes up in having someone as amazing as Mob, and he doesn't even think he's worthy of him, so he hardcore represses and misinterprets his feelings.

Mob still has a crush on Tsubomi at this point, or at least, he has a crush on the *idea* of her. What he truly wants is someone who will love and accept both the best and worst parts of himself... and someone who can protect without the fear of them leaving him. Mob ends up getting closer and closer with Reigen, not realizing that he's falling for Reigen for that exact reason AND for who Reigen is as a person!! Mob being so in love and not even realizing it!! So the two of them have the worst crush imaginable that ends up forming into actual love that neither of them realize for the longest time. They're so in love that it's sickening to everyone who watches them.
