I love eggplant but it does not love me holy mother of god ouch oof owie
#I’m fine#idk it’s weird but I love the texture for some reason. It’s slimy with a lot of variations in consistency like wet seeds and pulp#I eat foods more for the texture than the taste but in the sense that I like more textures than the average person#I will eat anything once just to try it; and I will probably like it enough to eat it again (within reason… nothing unsafe)#I have to restrain myself in the presence of corn starch packing peanuts#because every fiber of my being is telling me to eat the whole bag like they’re cheese puffs (for the texture)#And packing peanuts aren’t cheap!#As a kid I’ve eaten brown paper napkins in the movie theater when my popcorn ran out because I wanted something to chew on#And I like to chew muffin wrappers like they’re gum to suck the flavor out of them#I also like dry oatmeal… powdery and hard with a bit of a “thud” when you bite into it#OH! And when I was nine I tried one of my dog’s rawhides because it looked and smelled so good when he was chewing it#Unfortunately it was too hard for my human jaws and baby teeth :(#I’ve also eaten a pupperoni dog treat just to try it… that was genuinely kind of a nasty texture#I was expecting it to be like beef jerky; but it did not chew or taste like beef jerky at all#Too much air in it… like dry spongy cardboard that flakes apart into fibrous chunks in your mouth#bleh
