I love how my sock toppers look like long bloomers! I desperately want long bloomers but I never get around to buying them :(

I had my oral testing for my B2 French certification so I wanted to wear something a little nicer. That means wearing something insanely formal for most people :)

I really like this skirt. It was a bit over 15 degrees so I didn't need to wear a coat or thermal leggings!!! I'm kinda sad that the weather is getting nicer because now I have to start being careful about what I wear so that I don't overheat.

Wip Whenever

So many of you lovelies tag me I wanted to wait until today to make sure I got everyone! This week it was @curiousartemis​, @kunstpause​, @elveny​, @cartadwarfwithaheartofgold​, and @musetta3​ who tagged me! I’ve got a couple things to share, so it’s all under the cut.

First up is a snip from The Wrong Warden that I’m currently working on. I had some family stuff come up last month that messed up my posting schedule, but I’m back at it today. Also, Warden just passed 3100 hits! I can’t believe my plucky little courtesan has captured the attention of so many, thank you to all my readers! 

Personally, his nightmares had gotten more frequent the closer they came to the horde; coupled with the growing sense of connection between himself and the hive mind, it left him feeling vulnerable. And monstrous; the hunger for...something constantly eats at him in the quiet parts of his mind. He doesn’t understand it, but he definitely feels a pull toward the horde and whatever atrocities they inflict on the world.

How bad was it for her down there? He wonders, watching Hera. I know she was hiding something from us, and it wasn’t just her magic. That, too, had been affected in the Roads; when Ares had been hurt her magic had spiraled out of control. She hadn’t talked about it, but he’d seen a growing weight pressing on her the whole time. Did the Deep Roads affect her more than anyone else, because she’s dhampir? There were times she seemed...comfortable in the dark, he thinks, frowning. Is the archdemon getting to her? Could she be convinced to change sides, being what she is?

Idiot, he scolds himself. She’d never do that. She’s a Grey Warden; and from what she’s told me of Ravenloft she knows what it is to fight for home.

“Alistair, are you all right?” Hera asks, sitting back on her heels and smiling at him across the fire. “You’ve been staring at me for a solid minute.”

Cheeks burning, he forces a laugh. “What can I say? You’re so pretty in the firelight.”

Also in the WIP category is my niece’s prom dress. She called me up in Decemeber and asked if I would make her dress for her last high school formal, and all she asked for was that it be red and have “pockets big enough for breadsticks.” I’ve picked some gorgeous sequin lace to wrap around the bodice (the angled/pleated bits on the front and the shoulder drapes) and the rest will be red satin. This is the first mockup for her to try on, and please ignore my junky shelves behind Bessie Body:

Isn’t it going to be gorgeous? I’m so excited for her to try it on. All that’s left of the mockup is a zip and some boning (that will be taped in).

As for my crochet WIPS- one of them is a secret, but I’m almost finished with it so it’ll be shipped off and shared soon. The other is a baby blanket I’m working on for my best friend’s baby due in April. I’ve had to start it over 3 or 4 times but I finally got the hang of the stitch and I love the color.

And that is all, my dears! No embroidery wips for the moment, but I do still have my giant DA Heart cross stitch that I’ve got to finish eventually, and another project ready to go when I have time. Probably after the green blanket is finished.
