So I've finally finished the update, and this is all I have to say.

Oh my god.

OH MY FUCKING GOD.

I don't think I've ever been so on the edge of my seat over a game like this. The FACT that the episode itself is paced slower is already a good sign... but for it to go down THIS route?! I can't believe it man. Oh my god.

Here's everything I liked about this update:

1: the writing itself. It's clear from the get go that narrative-wise, the devs wanted to branch out after that underwhelming anniversary update. The story was experimental in the way it handled rather mature topics for what's otherwise a kiddie game. The topic of plagues, loss, resilience, and even existentialism and mortality are brought up, and perfectly blend well with Cacao's development. The references to Buddhism were a treat too! Simply *chef's kiss* that's all I have to say.

2: Mystic Flour Cookie. I came into this episode expecting her to be another typical shallow stoic villain, but turned out to be WAAAAAAY more than that.

Her entire domain was just beautifully designed and it's safe to say she may be one of the best written villains in the entire franchise. The story succeeds at showing off how intimidating she truly can be but doesn't shy away from the nuances of her philosophy. Her interactions with Dark Cacao solidify this even more, exposing what appears to be HIS personal drawbacks to the audience that all turned out to be portrayed in her own lens. The voice acting was the cherry on top and I applaud the VA for doing such a successful job! Now I'm infatuated with her even more! My girl really out here helping me discover my love for characters like her and White Lily <3

3: Dark Cacao and the rest of the cast. Remember when I talked about his personal drawbacks and how they're exaggerated to a certain degree? Well APPARENTLY, the devs finally discovered how to thread it all and used those flaws as a driving force for his character growth! I find it extremely clever especially with how it coincides with his themes of resolution. The plot twists and *those* scenes were DELECTABLE, I was at the edge of my seat this whole time as I progressed!

The old dumpling people, despite only appearing for a short while, were quite a delight to meet. They only had a minimal ounce of screen time but I can already see their personalities shining through! Peach Blossom was adorable as well but I wished we got to know a little more about him.

Overall? This update may have stirred up some controversy in the Cookie Run community, but hey! At least its story definitely exceeded my expectations.

The hype was worth it. 9/10. It's definitely up there with Golden Cheese as one of my favorite story arcs.

Guys ngl I’ve been playing witch’s castle and I really do not like the gacha system (dw this post doesn’t have any lore spoilers). Like I was already very iffy about the gacha system from crk but I didn’t realize it could get WORSE. It’s practically shameless how blatantly they want your money. Like for example let’s say I’m rolling for a specific cookie, you’re telling me I need to roll dice for a CHANCE to fill up the cookie meter? THEN I have a VERY SLIM CHANCE at getting that cookie, OR I get soulstones which I need TWENTY OF to get the FULL COOKIE?? I’m sorry but WHERE is the PITY SYSTEM???? And the fact that there isn’t a store and you have to roll for FURNITURE TOO??? I also have gripes about the actual gameplay aspect but it’s basically the same gripes I have with. Christ. Puzzle world. Like I’m gonna go insane, I hate being nasty in my posts but this game hits all of the wrong buttons for me personally, am I the only one, like is this an unpopular opinion???????? Oh he loves the attention he's been getting from you, how sweet of you to come back to the game just for him. Boost his ego much more, he loves flaunting this favouritism to the others.

The only cookies he might not do this for is Shadow Milk and Candy Apple. More so Shadow Milk as he knows his boss also has taken a liking on you. He might as well keep his mouth shut to avoid a sulking Shadow Milk. As for Candy Apple, well…he does like to annoy her, now he has a new thing he can use.

He doesn’t mind being picked up, I mean have you seen the animation when you do? I love it, my guy on his mic while laughing. I’d say he enjoys it, plus it makes you giddy. He loves impressing you, even with something as simple as that.

I think I talked about how he felt with the constant tapping. Pretty much my first post about this silly self aware au but I’ll go a bit more in depth. The tapping is what got him so interested in you in the first place.

This amplifies when he knows/realises you still see them as “just” a character in a game. How entertaining that you still want to show affection to him and it’s through tapping?

His mic keeps an eye on you all the time as long as he’s wherever you are. In the kingdom and you don’t have him disabled? Take a look at him and you’ll notice the mics eye never leaves you. In the team building? His mic is still looking at you as you add cookies. Literally just in the cookie menu? Yeah his mic is looking at you, he wasn’t lying when he said that his mic has his eye on you

He finds you so interesting and as he spends more time with you, he grows to enjoy seeing you log in everyday, loving every interesting way you want to show your affection even if some aren’t his thing. Every new thing he learns about you makes him want to learn more

He loved seeing you desperately trying to get more “promotions” and “ascend” him as he hears it. My, my, you really do favour him that much? Oh he’d love to brag about it on his radio show.

He definitely tries to help Shadow Milk find a way out, oh how he’d love to meet you in person, it’ll be so lovely. He’ll make sure to fill you in on what the other cookies think, who cares if he’s twisting the truth? As long as you still like him he’s fine with that.

He loves the fact that his already “programmed” lines already break the so called 4th wall. It makes it so much more easier on him as he personally compliment you and you just brushing it off as an in game line. Just make sure you don’t tell anyone else though okay? He can’t let his secret get out yet

PLEASE tell me you're as disappointed as I am that there are ZERO Greek mythology references in this episode. All we got was Pavlova being Eros, which was visible from a mile away (and Eternal Sugar sends him to do a lot of her dirty work, which is what Aphrodite often did to Eros, so that's cool ig). What else is there? The ionic columns? Sugar's and the NPC's Hellenistic attire? That's all they gave us? Her area of Beast-Yeast is more like Alice in Wonderland than it is Mount Olympus. Would it have killed them to give us sugar satyrs? Sugar nymphs? Taffy harpies? A jello cyclops? Apparently it would, so they gave us these silly little ice cream doodad looking guys and these dumb candy caterpillars and a fucking sugar rainbow merry-go-round. Not even the upcoming Beast raid boss looks Greek, it's just a weird heart thing! Why not a gorgon with licorice snakes for hair, with each strand being a different color and flavor? Why not a Nemean lion with an impenetrable chocolate hide, so Hollyberry can take the role of Heracles, which she fits into a lot anyway? (They could've fit that into the little window between their first departure from the garden back into Beast-Yeast proper and Wildberry's sacrifice or something idk.) They didn't even reference the Lotus Eaters really, everyone was mostly able and willing to get up and leave after eating and drinking and resting! Nor was there a Hades and Persephone moment, with Sugar offering Holly a magical fruit that she would take and eat, not knowing it would shackle her to Sugar and the realm permanently. Holly didn't accidentally allow herself to be tricked into damning herself in her moment of weakness and doubt, she just got her shield destroyed and herself shoved into a mimic chest. Once again Devsisters takes the path of least resistance. Mystic Flour's and Burning Spice's areas were so fun, they took us somewhere new and different ("China" and "India"), now we're back to Christianity Part 2. We already had Christian symbolism with Shadow Milk, I don't want it again, I wanted Ancient Greece goddamn it (and I know it's TECHNICALLY still accurate because Greece is Christian and has been for millennia, but when I say Ancient Greece I mean the Greece that tended to hearths inside of all of its homes in honor of Hestia and never laid a hand on eagles because they were a symbol of Zeus, ykwim?)

I think a couple other Greek mythology references were present: the labyrinth referenced Theseus, and Hollyberry being locked in the box referenced Sisyphus trapping Thanatos in a box too if I’m not mistaken?

Other than that yeah not much. I was hoping we’d have more references the whole way through, and the examples you gave are really cool ideas! Still unsure why we got ice cream and candy enemies on rainbows instead of leaning more into mythical creatures. I know it emphasizes the sugary sweet paradise Sugar has but they didn’t go all in on the Hellenistic references 🥹

I can roll w the christian themes here because of the loose garden of Eden references, and as a fan of renaissance art there were a lot of Christian themes (ie. Putto, angels being depicted in classical Greek myths, etc) in them. If anything that’s what ES’s aesthetic might be going for, less pure greek mythology and more renaissance depictions of it. I’m more ehhh about the lack of rep, I wanted more lmao

Overall the ep felt like a lot and nothing happened at the same time… but I would love to see if the next chapter does more. Not disappointed with what we got though, just would’ve loved to see them lean in further. But that’s what fanon is for lol

Be prepared, this is going to be a long one.

The update of Eternal Sugar... It destroyed me.

I didn't finish the episode, the episode finished me!

What hit me the hardest was Royalberry.

Seeing how that kid had to tell his own alcoholic mother to stop.

Seeing how she ignored him.

God it hurts.

And now that we know more about Royalberry I can say, what a sh*tty life.

Imagine your mother paying more attention to your drinking than you, and you, as the son of the queen, have to take over a crumbling kingdom, you spend most of your life preparing to be king.

You fall in love with a warrior and marry her, only for your mother to give more favor to her than to you, you don't complain since they is your wife and mother.

And then, your mother, the one who ignored you for the most part, brings in an orphan from the street!

She takes care of him, tends to him and pays more attention to him than to you, her biological son.

After that, she is gone for years.

She wasn't around when one of your daughters was kidnapped and the kingdom just to criticize you and compare you to her.

Years go by and she comes back.

Only to give more attention to the other of your daughters, your wife and your adopted brother.

And you are left as second choice to her.

Now, do you know what I need?

Why must you fight him after he saved you!? Seeing you try and shove him away from yourself, screaming, crying, begging, trying to get back to the world that was trying to corrupt you…take you away from him… “why must you fight me!?I’m only doing what’s best for you!” At some point, Dark Cacao would have enough and lock you in your isolated room with watchers guarding your door for days, Dark Cacao coming in every day in hopes you would run into his arms and need him. If you haven’t submit to his demands then he would leave you locked in until the next time he came by.

Just pretend to submit for your sanity and his trust, maybe he’ll let you out as long as he trusts you 😉

One word, four syllables. De-lu-soin-al. She firmly believes that you have been g*slit into hating her or that you were severely sick, how could you possibly want to run away from her!? You must be sick! She sets herself into the mindset of your caretaker, your savior. She would often find herself laying on your bed with you, held tightly to her chest. Yes, you still fought her for your “freedom”, but she wouldn’t let you….she needed you, just as much as you needed her.

“Please, my little bee, stop fighting me! Let me help you!”

“JUST LET ME CURE YOU! THOSE HORRIBLE PEOPLE INFECTED YOUR MIND, AND I NEED TO HELP YOU!”

“Oh, you can just stop trying now~ ..why? Cause you’re NOT gonna win!~ Hahahaha!” GCC would often grab you by your arms and fly up high into the sky, dangling you by your arms as you frantically try to hold onto her for dear life. Once she thinks you’ve had enough, she clutches you to her chest and slowly floated down to the ground. She then carried you back to her bedroom and cuddled you close to her chest.

“If you ever run away from me, I promise you, I will always find you…”

“I love you..even if you test me so much…”

“Please…I’ve tried for so long to get you here, where it is SAFE for you..! Just let me love you….” This cookie- OMG. He would try his best to understand why you were fighting against his love but all cookies have a breaking point. He would drag you to his bedroom and just lay on his bed, his arms wrapped around you for dear life. “My love….I love you but you test me so much….but I’ll keep trying…”

Only a small handful of cookies have seen HBC anything BUT joyful. But one day, you were the unfortunate Cookie to witness something that seemed…out of character for HBC, her RAGE. All of her out of character-ness at that moment stemmed from you trying to fight her for your freedom…

“WHY MUST YOU BE SO STUBBORN!? DON’T YOU REALIZE HOW MUCH I NEED YOU AND HOW MUCH YOU MEAN TO ME!? You’re my missing piece….a part of me that was taken from me before I was born….and I-…I can’t lose you again….you complete me…just please….stop fighting and stay with me….”

By the end of her tirade, you would be pinned against a wall or her bed (get your head outta the gutter.) with HBC’s hands death gripping your arms to your side and her head pressed against your chest. Tears would be flowing from her eyes and the room would be deathly silent.

Just give her what she wants….all she has left of her mental wellbeing is you…

It's been a long time sense I touched anything Cookie Run Kingdom related. Mostly because I got a little tired out of it. But I did keep up on the new cookies they dropped every now & then. But when I saw these two pop up on my feed......I couldn't hold back from drawing them! Their designs, their little personalities, I just feel for them X3

So, of course I made some fan art of them. Wont lie, I think I actually got down how I like drawing cookies here. At least the cookie people from the game <XD 🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹

Of course, after some needed thinking, I decided to do them both seperatly to. So you could see Wedding Cake in her full glory & not just all behind Black Forest. I just love the soft cream & pastel tones she has X3 🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹🍒🌹

And so she didn't feel left out either, Black Forest also has a stand alone piece to. The pale tones with the dark chocolate colors look to good on her. Even the suttle use of red makes her pop out that much more.

White lily doesn't regress because she doesn't think she deserves happy baby time...her four friends STRONGLY disagree...cue babying her until she can't hold it in anymore and finally regresses and starts having her 'two moms and two dads' start to take care of her lol

I can't wait to see how the 4 make her regress or subtly nudge her into regressing aaaand what white lily is like being babied...and maybe, if you want a dash of origin of idea in there, say golden cheese 'punishes' her by claiming that the 'tickle monster' is gonna 'eat her tummy' and cue playful belly nibbles or raspberries and white lily going nuts lol!

Also leaving it kinda vague so you can stuff as many things as you wanna do with idea into it...just added little tibits of ideas incase you like it and/or get inspiration for it and/or something!

White Lily Cookie sighed as she laid down on the floor, reading, all while her friend’s had their prying eyes locked onto her. They looked like they were waiting for something to transpire. They were, actually. Since it had been so long since they last saw White Lily Cookie, it had also been so long since they were able to watch her regress and take care of her. She knew this, too, but she didn’t feel like she deserved it after what she had done.

“Can you all stop staring at me, please?” She asked softly. The others mumbled, but didn’t say anything as they finally stopped their staring. However, being as bold as she was, Hollyberry Cookie walked over to her friend’s side and kneeled down to her level to talk.

“Come on, dear, you can’t blame us when it’s been such a while!” She gently pinched White Lily Cookie’s cheek, already baby-talking, “Where’s our little girl?”. White Lily Cookie could feel her little self trying to peak over her walls, but she gently shooed her away and stood up with the book in her arms. “Not today, guys.” She stated and walked away. Golden Cheese Cookie huffed and crossed her arms, “That isn’t fair! I believe I deserve some baby time.”.

The others nodded in agreement. They looked to one another, then grinned, as if silently concocting a scheme. Maybe there would be a way to coax it out of her, no? It wouldn’t be the first time they’ve done such a thing.

White Lily Cookie had retreated to her greenhouse, engrossing herself in the book once more, but then she heard footsteps on the stone and looked up to see Pure Vanilla Cookie approaching her. He waved, she waved back, then returned her attention to the pages as she flitted through them. She couldn’t ignore the buzzing sound that hung over her head, though. She noticed a bee hovering close by, trying to get into the flower she wore in her hair, and tried to shoo it away.

“Go… go away.”

Pure Vanilla Cookie then grabbed her hand, chuckling softly, “Careful! It would hurt if he stung you, wouldn’t it?”. White Lily Cookie gave him a funny look, then nodded somewhat, “That’s right. Here, let me handle it for you.” The healer offered and gently took the bee in his hand to place it on a flower further away. Pure Vanilla Cookie then waved at the bee, “Bye-bye, Mr. Bee!” Lily, say bye-bye.” He told her. The first letter escaped her lips, then she covered her mouth. He cannot be serious.

“I can’t believe you guys.” She stood up again “I’m not regressing today!” She pouted, the treatment was already working its magic. Sure, it would be a slow process, but it would be worth it. She decided she’d try the gardens outside. Big mistake.

As soon as she sat down by a blossoming tree, a Cream Wolf ran up to her and started sniffing and licking her. White Lily Cookie turned the other cheek, trying to avoid getting any of the dog’s slobber all over her face. She heard a whistle from Dark Cacao Cookie, the Cream Wolf heard it too and went to his side.

“My apologies, honey. This one just started training.” He knelt down beside White Lily Cookie and gently wiped her face with a handkerchief, “So messy.” He murmured. White Lily Cookie caught herself giggling at the feeling, which made Dark Cacao Cookie smile softly, “Aww, is that funny?” He asked. White Lily Cookie covered her mouth with her hand and shook her head. He then pointed to the book in her hands, “Do you wish to read?” He chuckled fondly and sat down next to her “Come, I’ll read with you.” He offered. “Stop it!” White Lily Cookie started pouting again “I know what you guys are doing.” She stormed away.

“Hmph.” Dark Cacao Cookie snapped his fingers with defeat, he really thought that would get her.

White Lily Cookie finally gave up on trying to read in peace, considering how her friends insisted on helping her regress. She said she didn’t want to, but they all knew that wasn’t the reality of it. She really wanted to, she was so close, but she felt like she didn’t deserve it. How could she deserve it after all the pain she had caused them? Now she just had to watch out for Hollyberry Cookie and Golden Cheese Cookie.

White Lily Cookie was sitting in the banquet hall, trying to think of what she wanted to eat, but with her mind trying to drift into littlespace it was hard to focus on anything. Hollyberry Cookie saw the opportunity and went for it, walking up next to her, “Can’t choose? Don’t worry about it, I’ll get something for you.”. White Lily Cookie was honestly about to decline the offer, but all the “no”s and ��stop it”s got caught up in her throat. She nodded reluctantly. Hollyberry Cookie chuckled and patted her head “Attagirl! Go and sit down, I’ll bring it to you.”.

White Lily Cookie nodded again and went to sit down at one of the tables by the stained glass windows. She found herself chewing on her fingers, a terrible habit she had. Oho? What’s this? A double team effort? Golden Cheese Cookie showed up behind her and poked her tummy, causing her to giggle and stop her chewing.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk! You know it’s not good to nom on your hands, baby.” She stroked White Lily Cookie’s hair, sitting beside her, “Now what happened to your teether?” She started looking through an imaginary bag at her side. Hollyberry Cookie smiled and sat down across from Golden Cheese Cookie and shook her head, setting White Lily Cookie’s food down in front of her, “She doesn’t need that old thing! She’s just hungry. Aren’t you?”. White Lily Cookie nodded, immediately grabbing her fork and clumsily scooping up bites of food. Little crumbs fell all over her dress, making both Golden Cheese Cookie and Hollyberry Cookie laugh.

“There she is!” She said, patting White Lily Cookie’s head again, making her babble in response. “Guys, come in here! Look how precious!” Hollyberry Cookie called, summoning the last two of the Five. The boys immediately started cooing and fawning over how precious their friend looked, sitting themselves at the table as well.

See? The results were worth it! All though it took a little elbow grease, they finally got their dear White Lily Cookie to regress once more. It was such an adorable sight. Oh, if only she could stay like that forever!
