in retrospect, it makes so much sense that aemond expressed his remorse for luke’s death, but was never shown to care about jaehaerys’.

one boy is his nephew who cruelly laughed in his face at a family dinner, who took aemond’s eye. the other is aemond’s innocent little nephew who did not even grasp what was happening to him when he was being murdered.

this was yet another way for the writers to manipulate the audience into believing how unfair luke’s fate was (which it was, but that’s not the point) and how little jaehaerys’ fate (which was yet again a consequence of aemond’s actions) mattered.
