Hope I'm doing this right. On anonymous just in case I'm not doing it right, don't wanna embarrass myself. But, ship: Royality. Prompt: Them going to a theme park (possibly Disney Land.) This is very unoriginal but to be fair I asked a friend who is barely in the fandom for help because I wanted to send at least one prompt (because you are a beautiful bean and deserve help with your resolution!) and didn't know what to send.
oh nonnie this is RIGHT up my alley!! here’s a short little sequel to believe in holiday magic! since we’re still celebrating christmas at disneyland :’) thank you so much for the prompt and the encouragement!
ship: qpr royality / word count: 531!
After Roman’s first time to Disneyland with Patton, Logan, and Virgil, he found himself suffering from what he’d seen mentioned frequently on Instagram - Post Disney Depression. He couldn’t stop going through all of Logan’s photos, wearing his rainbow ears around the house, staring fondly at the First Visit button on his cork board. He had it bad and he missed it so much. Patton’s frequent trips and their subsequent posting on Snapchat only helped so much - if anything, living vicariously through them was simultaneously exhilaratingly wonderful and heartbreakingly painful.
It was late one evening during their traditional FaceTime goodnight call that Patton suggested Roman drive out for a weekend visit. He could stay the night and they could visit Downtown Disney for some retail therapy. While Roman was a little disheartened by the idea of being so close to the parks but not actually getting to go inside, he couldn’t deny that the atmosphere alone would help immensely. Of course, Patton’s company would make it all worth it regardless. With the vague beginnings of a plan in mind, Roman put in to request a few days off of work in the next month, and started saving up a bit of extra money.
Three weeks later found Roman pulling into Patton’s driveway. Patton came bounding out of the house wearing a very pretty spaghetti strap dress and a floppy sunhat. After unpacking and a light lunch, the pair were on their way to the happiest place on Earth. With it only being his second visit, Roman followed Patton’s directions without question. To his surprise, however, instead of continuing straight through the esplanade and into the shopping and dining district, Patton steered them left.
“Dearheart, what have you got up your sleeve?” Roman asked hesitantly.
“Nothing, silly!” Patton chirped, waving their arms. “No sleeves to hide anything in!”
Roman, despite his suspicions, laughed and rolled his eyes. It turned out, though, that he absolutely should’ve have questioned Patton further. They came to a stop at the turnstiles into Disney California Adventure and without warning or preamble, Patton was shoving a ticket into Roman’s hands.
“You didn’t,” Roman gasped.
“I did! No takesies backsies!” Patton smiled brightly for the cast member as she scanned their pass. Once through the gate, Patton gestured for Roman to hurry up. “We’ve only got all weekend, sweetie!”
One of these days, Roman would be able to pay Patton back for all they did for him. Whether it was the late night reassurances of how wonderful he truly was or the four hour drives they made to see his shows, Patton had never once failed to be there for him. Similarly, Roman did whatever he could to support Patton in all their endeavors. From dealing with dysphoria to being harassed in public, Roman was always ready to drop everything and get to Patton as quickly as physically possible. The unspoken agreement that they’d go to the ends of the earth for each other felt loud and clear in this moment.
If Roman was a bit teary eyed and red in the cheeks for the photo of his two-day park-hopper pass, well, no one really needed to know.
