HI. HELLO. I JUST REALIZED YOU ASKED ANOTHER PART TO THIS. in my defense i responded while. very tired. and getting used to new meds. but tysm for adding on to the prompts!!!

How long does it typically take you to finish a piece?

it usually takes me either up to 3 hours for finished pieces featuring a single character (including breaks between for food), OR up to 6/7 if im doing ~3 characters (in which im probably hyperfocusing; only really break it when im pressured to rest, but usually i finish in a day and then deal w the effects afterward)

for doodle pages that r just me fucking around, it usually takes like. an hour altogether or so, really just depends on how much i draw and, if it's on a single page, how im gonna work out the format + smaller doodles to make it feel more full. each doodle itself usually only takes around ten minutes because i am. 1. indecisive and 2. easily entertained ... well, depending. because this one took me a couple days but that may have been because i was really doing it off and on? i do a Lot of things off and on

i think for most of my work, my sketching and lineart tend to overlap? like, as seen in the hk gijinkas post, my lines for some are fairly clean but still a little messier - those ones WERE my 'sketches' and i just cleaned them up. i don't often use sketch layers unless it's for a big piece, or the sketch/lineart layer was just. very messy and i should try to do it again ... also coloring my beloathed. it's easier once i know the colors i'm using if i've settled on the palette for the character prior, but still. shadings fun though! time-consuming, and i don't always figure out the lighting right, but it's fine. i liked doing that piece w mon&ze'mer + lurien&aster even though they weren't really colored in as id usually do!

regarding comics tho? ...pending. Will get to you in 2-3 business months (seriously though, one page comics usually take about 2/3 days depending on the whole set-up ‐ and this is only for the lineart part of it. i haven't. colored a comic i've made in literal years abvhgms. and then for larger ones? wagh. motivation comes and goes ;_;)

i've always drawn, tbh, esp on paper while in school. even outside of that, i know when i was younger i would always have a notepad w me in the kitchen so that when i was making meals, i could draw in-between

but, honestly, the thing that made me start taking it seriously was when i was around 8 years old and i realized what game developers did. it just seemed like a really great way to get across what you wanted to do, and i... wanted to do that too! i had a lot of ideas, i still do, and i want to be able to share that. i don't draw my ocs much anymore, bc i just... have not got the energy,and i get real paranoid over sharing their full concepts publicly, but i still think over their stories. they've always been dear to me <3
