Born Without a Gender? | Polecat Cast 116
The gender police begin their crackdown, the Chicago Pride march expresses their anti-semitism, and Vice doesn't like to have their stuff archived. Let's do this.

Canadian Authorities Can’t Recognize Child Abuse When They See It By Max Derrat
Remember when you were in elementary school… and all the kids had regular, boring names like Scott, David, Kelly and Emma? Yet, there was that one kid who had a weird name like Ferdinand or Amaryllis… and all the kids picked on them for their name? We’d be all like… “god, their parents must really have it out for them to give them a name like that.” Well, I’ve got a story for you that is sort of a… let’s say… modern update to that childhood trauma. Let me introduce you to a Canadian parent named Kori Doty. She is a self-identified ‘non-binary trans person’, and is also a Max Derrat-identified child abuser. She recently had a child she named Searyl Atli. Since Searyl’s birth last November, Kori has been fighting to keep her baby’s gender off government records. In an interview with the CBC, Kori said she is “raising Searyl in such a way that until they have the sense of self and command of vocabulary to tell me who they are.”
Kori added: “I’m recognising them as a baby and trying to give them all the love and support to be the most whole person that they can be outside of the restrictions that come with the boy box and the girl box.” In order to reinforce her world view, she has been trying to get the provincial government of British Columbia to issue a birth certificate without a gender marker. While the baby has received health cards with an “undetermined” gender, Searyl has yet to receive a birth certificate to Kori’s liking.
So not only is Kori’s baby named Searyl, but the baby doesn’t have a gender. It’s almost like she wants the school-kids to crucify her child during recess. By the way, to all of those who are offended that I was referring to Kori as “she” rather than “they”… two things: 1) I don’t give respect to child abusers, and 2) suck my big fat yellow cock. The Pronoun Police By Mike J.
Canadian police in the Halton region have tweeted out the following last week, "DYK (Did You Know) If you're not sure what pronoun somebody uses, just ask. What are your preferred pronouns?". The now deleted tweet also included a handy chart denoting the proper usage of gender pronouns. The chart included traditional pronouns such as he, she, and they and lesser known pronouns such as ze, zir, and eir. It's no secret that this tweet follows in the wake of Bill C-16, the very same bill Professor Jordan Peterson criticized as infringing on freedom of speech. Bill C-16, which passed June 19th of this year, criminalizes using incorrect gender pronouns with fines and possible hate crime charges.

Progressivism Collapses Under Its Own Logic By Max Derrat
There’s nothing that makes me feel more satisfied than when I see the internal inconsistencies of progressive leftism exposed. Pro-tip to anybody who detests a particular segment of the radical leftist movement and wants to see it collapse: single out the lead voices and ask for their thoughts on Jews (I’m being facetious by the way).
About a week ago, during a gay pride parade in Chicago, three people were ejected for carrying pride flags emblazoned with a Jewish Star of David. When organizers tried to rationalize their decision later on, some bizarre statements were made. In a blog post on chicagodykemarchcollective.org, the flag carriers were accused of “expressing Zionist views that go directly against the march’s anti-racist core values.”
One of the flag carriers, named Laurel Grauer, said that she has marched for ten years with the flag. During the march, organizers, volunteers, and other marchers expressed views that can be summarized into one sentence: “You have to leave because you are making people feel unsafe. You are putting them in danger by being here.”
When Laurel expressed support for the State of Israel, she also tried to state a belief that there should be a free and independent Palestine. But nevertheless she was shut down with the following: “You cannot be Zionist and believe in a Palestinian state, Zionism is inherently racism.” Laurel followed up with the following question to one of the organizers right before she left: “So you are asking the two people carrying Pride flags with Jewish stars on them and the ‘God hates fags’ contingent?” The volunteer answered: “yes”.

  Vice Fighting Back Against Archiving
By Andrew G.
Archiving Services such as the Wayback Machine, archive.is, megaladon.jb and others, are now joining the ranks of Discord and 4chan as “right-wing” websites and online services, according to Vice News. Vice has changed its website so that it is very difficult to view some archived articles posted on their website. For example, while attempting to archive some Vice articles using the Way Back Machine, users will be greeted with a 404 error: “page not found.” While one can still take screenshots of webpages, screengrabs are always susceptible to claims of modification. A webpage can still be saved as html to one’s computer, but Web Browsers FireFox, Chrome, and Edge will have problems displaying the saved webpage, while only Internet Explorer is able to display the html in its entirety.
Vice has decided to go this route because they are “taking a stand against Racism, Bigotry, and Islamophobia,” and that archiving services are being used by “right-wing activists to discredit us and other reputable news outlets.” Vice claims that by archiving articles, Vice isn’t given the chance to “update, remove or edit” the original posts and that their reputation is being damaged in the process.
However, isn’t the point of archiving services supposed to “archive” what was originally written, as well as show the changes that have been made? And, should we be putting the trust in “news outlets” such as Vice to show any edits to articles they post?

Lately…
I didn’t have time to write a blog post this weekend, and it’s already noon on Monday. So, here is a quick and rather random post, just so you have something to read.
Lately, I’ve been…
listening to
Leslie Odom’s album, “Mr.”.
When I watched Hamilton with Sonia, I liked Aaron Burr’s voice, which, of course, is Leslie Odom’s voice.
So, I googled him and discovered he has some albums of his own. Sweet!
I’ve only listened to “Mr” so far, and I don’t like all of the songs, but there are several I really like.
(a few tracks have a little language, but you can just set your Spotify to not download tracks marked with an E for explicit.)
Taylor Swift’s Folklore
Since I’m in a different stage of life than Taylor, I don’t exactly resonate with the lyrics of her songs, but I do like the airy (and not so pop-y) sound of a lot of her songs on this album.
Quite a few tracks on this album are marked E, but again, Spotify’s filter is very handy.
Instrumental study mix on Spotify (ha)
Sometimes I need to work on my computer while Mr. FG has work meetings, and I find it to be very helpful to put earbuds in with an instrumental mix on Spotify.
I just cannot type words into a blog post while listening to his co-workers talk!
reading
Just Mercy
I finished this one, a reread because it was assigned for book club. It is just as heartbreaking the second time through, and I think it’s something every American should read at least once.
Bryan Stevenson is doing seriously amazing work to help people who have no voice and I cannot applaud him and his non-profit enough.
The Sun Does Shine
This one is written by Ray Hinton, a guy that Bryan Stevenson helped off of death row. This guy sat on death row for 30 years for a crime he didn’t commit. Can you even imagine the horror of that??
I just got to the part where Bryan Stevenson’s team has arrived to help, and I wanted to cheer.
Save Me the Plums
This is a memoir by Ruth Reichl, the editor of Gourmet magazine. I’m about halfway through, and so far, I like it, and I want to check out some issues of Gourmet now.
I have to say, though, reading The Sun Does Shine and Save Me the Plums at the same time is sort of weird. The problems that Ruth Reichl is facing seem so very small in comparison to Ray Hinton’s problems.
And the problems I face in my own life are definitely more similar to Reichl’s than to Hinton’s.
watching
Hmm. I watched Hamilton with Sonia.
And I’ve watched some episodes of Criminal Minds with her as well.
I have to say, though, I like crime shows like CSI better. There’s less scary stuff on CSI (as I remember it) because they’re not usually actively chasing a killer. I’m kind of jumpy, and my goodness, Criminal Minds makes me jump every single time.
And honestly, I like shows such as The Crown better than crime shows. Give me all the period dramas!
working on
getting my boating license
Not because I’m going to drive a boat, but because if I get my license, then I can go out on my brother’s jet skis with him or with Mr. FG.
I am learning some good information, but as with any licensing course, there are plenty of cheesy videos.
(Did you know life jackets make you look cool??)
decluttering!
Zoe and I tackled the laundry room, so I’ve been busy giving away stuff from that room.
my extra bubble wrap went to someone in my community
And I helped Sonia get rid of a dresser she doesn’t need in her room.
A moment of silence for the fact that my children have all outgrown Easter egg hunting. Time for the eggs to bless someone else!
I’m still shipping out books that are selling on eBay too.
On a related note, here’s how I declutter without creating trash.
What have you been up to lately? I’d love to hear!

Black Mirror- Playtest
Simulacra and Simulations
Simulation is a duplication of real without origin- a hyper-real. Simulators in the present day are using what is real to create illusions. The hyper-real thing is generated through genetic and nuclear operations. From here, their existence can be replicated multiple times. The results can never be termed as real after this after all the real can never be achieved again. To dissimulate is to feign deceptions by false appearances.
It gets complicated than that, both simulation and dissimulation cannot be treated as they deviate from the laws of nature. Both cannot be treated. I mean what kind of medicine can be able to cure a disease that depicts itself on both sides of the health of which truth and false in addition to not existing? The army too has faced a challenge with combating simulators. Traditionally, the identity of any individual can be revealed through technology, but currently, the same technology has gotten smarter. A criminal can act like a well-mannered fellow or vice versa. The implications are thus far-reaching and no one knows what will transpire next.
Tumblr media
Playtest is an episode of Netflix’s Black Mirror, technology-based horror anthology. The episode profoundly focuses on some realities. The existence of actual things and situations rather than notional or idealistic part of them is referred to as physical reality while augmented reality is reality created by the integration of advanced technology atop of the user’s physical reality to make it seem meaningful. On the other hand, hyperreality is the failure by the conscious to distinguish physical reality from augmented reality.
Physical Reality
The episode is about a young American man, Cooper, who decides to travel the world to escape from reality back at home. He lost his father to Alzheimer’s disease. From a flashback, we know that he has traveled to various places around the world- Sydney, Bangkok, India, Dubai, Rome and the whole of Europe. He is currently in London where meets Sonja- a tech journalist, in a bar. They hook up, and Sonja encourages him to take a job at Sito Gamu, a prominent gaming company.
The job is about testing a new game. Sonja expects to land a scoop from the secretive company. All he wants from the job is the pay as his credit card number is stolen, the money used, and finally, he is left penniless. The job involves a procedure where a miniature device is planted at the back of his neck. The device serves as a mind-machine interface. It uses a clip-on band plus a chair to download experiences.
Tumblr media
Augmented Reality and Hyper Reality
In the scene, Cooper must attempt to distinguish the reality from holographic illusions created by the device. The device uses his memories. Thus, it is not known what he is likely to see next. Throughout the episode, he confronts his fears from high school bullies to the concerns of him ending up like his senile father. He is dispatched to an old mansion where he faces a giant spider-like creature possessing Peters face, a high school bully.
Tumblr media
One of the ordeals he faces is Sanjo who apparently this time around is not friendly. She wants to kill him. In this case, Sanjo is not like the other holograms creatures that have been used to trick him before. He can touch and feel her. We end up being convinced that she is there. This part could foster psychological implications to a person especially if one had their trust in the friend turned foe. He struggles to fight Sanjo who has plunged a knife on his back. Lying on the ground struggling to defeat Sanjo who is seated astride his laps she puts pressures on his chest, and the knife emerges out precisely on the same spot Peters-a, high school bully, had scared him. The scene makes one question all about what they think they know about the characters. Friends are turning to bloodthirsty foes.
Tumblr media
The other character that makes us question the trust we got on them is Katie. After the experience with Sanjo, Cooper wants out. He is told that for the game to stop he must get to the “access point” which he desperately does. Thinking that all this will come to an automatically to an end, Katie reveals to him that there exists no access point. Surely, how do you trust someone like that who at the end of it all you expect some pay from them? She goes ahead to tell us that the experiment went too far such that the situation cannot be stopped. We are also made to question advanced technology that uses people to experiment yet it is beyond our control.
Tumblr media
Saito, on the other hand, seems calm about the situation. He gives Cooper a mere apology for the game’s terror. By this time, Cooper has already lost his memory and can barely recognize him. He orders the guards to put him with the “others.” He seems to be familiar with such situations. From here we see Cooper in the white room where the experiment commenced.
We tend to think that physical reality has started playing out, but it is not true as the later parts reveal. What transpires next is that we seem him fly back home to his mother place. His mom is now affected by Alzheimer’s having black taints on her face. She does not recognize him where to this effect she dials his number.
Tumblr media
Physical Reality
But all this are illusions in his head-in fact; he only lasts less than a second before his mum makes the call that ends his life. We are told that the call’s interface interfered with his brain. It is at this juncture we see the callousness of Saito who we expect to make a big fuss upon Cooper being pronounced dead. He is eager and willing to continue with his experiments citing that Katie should note the last word Cooper said before dying. The whole episode is loaded with twists and surprises which are all rendered meaningless at one point or the other.
