The way pretty much all forerunners have pseudo resist is soooo funny bc 75% of them are just little dude or dudette creatures who look like they have 0 or negative defensive properties. Like they're all extra kickable or flammable. It's especially funny now that I play Messiah again and my forerunner is a little bug eyed alien baby who looks like it was born seconds ago and would die if you held it upside down or shook it too hard. And since pseudo resist means they can be targeted by skills but not actually retired the skills animation and everything still happens. So when my Kagero opponent rapid fires several auto retire skills that target my lone forerunner rg or when my SP opponent activates Ogma and targets my entire field with insta death via ritual sacrifice... The screen shakes and bombs are going off and there's hell fire but then when the smoke clears my lone autism creature alien baby stands utterly pristine and completely untouched on the battlefield.

It's been a few days, but Vanguard Zero finally announced EoS. It's been a strange feeling. Overwhelming relief followed by a lot more sadness than I ever expected. I really thought I'd be ready for the announcement, but I guess I wasn't :(
Reading the announcement the first thing after I woke up left me so peaceful, like I weight had been lifted. But when I got up and made breakfast and sat down to play like I always do, and saw the in-game announcement with the exact time stamp and the in-depth information my heart just wouldn't stop sinking. And when I saw the Thank You-illustrations they hit me so hard.
The servers go down on the 30th June, so a little over 2 months from now. I'm going to put a bunch of stuff in my life on hold for a while, I think, and make a plan of things I want to do before the game is gone forever.

The resolution of the new line stamp sleeves for the 3rd anniversary is so high I feel like the images have been tattooed on my retinas

Turns out it’s like a milk bottle and not an umbrella drink?? Ok
Pretty sad that my favorite new line stamp didn’t make it, aka the one with Ryuuzu on a pool floatie with a giant lolly and an umbrella drink with the text HAPPY above him while he makes the most dead pan face imaginable

Pre-flop era achievements
Also, the reason why rank 24 gave me 77th place for Chronojet season while rank 32 put me in the 200s during Luard was bc Luard was during a major point rate up, while Chronojet season wasn’t. Pretty sure 24 is the highest I’ve ever gotten rawdogging ranked without bonuses, so while the number doesn’t seem that impressive I am pretty proud of it.

Also WHAT is it with the narukami players. There hasn’t been an event or anything. No new support or buffs. They just flooding ranked to make a point. Narukami HAS to be the most played deck historically in this game, the spam is insane. Tbh I feel whenever there’s a influx of returning players for any reasons it’s narukami time and you can’t escape it.
#I’m usually not a rage type gamer at all I’m usually patient but last years narukami raid on ranked before the g update made we wish#death upon one person in real life#Huppa plays vg zero

AAAA. I fucking forgot the reason narukami sucks so bad when playing ahsha is bc they bind your entire drop zone. I feel like old narukami players were stupid and would default bind triggers or pgs but they have since evolved and prioritize binding normal units so I can’t fucking recycle anything and it sucks so bad since I can’t sp call anything and just die

I have entered a new vg zero flop era. I’ve won like 1 game in 3 days lmfao
The day before yesterday I fought like 8 narukami players in a row (funny since the last time that happened was literally exactly a year ago now, almost, the night between the last of September and the first of October before the g update dropped) and I didn’t beat a single one, one game I was winning until the very end where I misplayed and decked myself out so that was a big L for me
I don’t know, I didn’t play for like a month (not ranked anyway) bc I was busy and taking a break and I wasn’t interested in the rank rewards anyway, so maybe I’m just rusty, but weirdly enough despite everything being much of the same old I feel like the meta has shifted while I was away and I’m just not keeping up which makes no damn sense bc out of the decks to get new support I’ve run into literally zero of them except for like 1 aqf player
I main neo nectar right now and I have for a little while after my old gears deck just wasn’t giving me the wins I needed and it was like the easiest deck to learn bc I had already learned it before and I had the materials to just craft everything I needed to update except for like one extra primavera that I’m hoping to pull still
Anyway, I feel like the deck isn’t as good as it used to be, ogma is a hard counter to thuria and altmile players just kill me before I can do anything. Gears players have the new chronoscommand too which is also a hard counter (upheaval Pegasus always was but I didn’t rly see anyone play it for some reason, tbh one big reason I kept repping gears for so long was bc of the Thuria counter and also just bc I felt like no one gave it an honest chance, like to figure out combos). But like other than Chronoscommand none of that is new so I don’t really get it, like why I’m losing so much. Maybe I just am rly out of shape.
I was thinking maybe I should just try to play something else. The new seasonal skins is an excuse to try gavrail again but god damn it I’ve tried that deck so many times and it’s fun and strong but it’s so goddamn hard. And I don’t rly see anyone playing it right now so idk how viable it still is even though I can’t think of any reason except ofc Luard players going full dmg denial, which is my next point, like maybe I should just play Luard bc I put a lot of time and effort into building it and then I just never used it in ranked. But to optimize it you have to play damage denial and I just hate that play style so much. It’s just not fun to not give your opp cb and then just sit there for 6 turns and stall. It just makes me feel like a terrible person.
Maybe I should just build Altmile LMFAO, I wanted to build him since last year so maybe it is finally time to complete the trifecta

Also aqua force has a bunch of “retire one unit randomly with priority to the back row” skills meaning if you have a full back row with your forerunner it means there’s a good 1/3 chance it will become the target meaning your other boosters are standing there shaking in their boots, terrified as the skill resolves with ground-shaking explosions but then, again when the dust clears and they’re all fine they’re like “whew I am so glad the explosion targeted our frail alien baby companion who is immune to explosions and not us”
