Seamus Sparkeye
Following from the previous image and also inspired by @hyenafu's webcomic Slightly Damned, here's another Jakkai from Nirveus.
Tumblr media
This is Seamus Sparkeye, the leader of a team of hunters. He was the one who raised the Nirvenese Mountain Dog that Nameless now looks after. He's known to be quite spirited when it comes to hunting. He utilizes many weapons in his line of work, such as the bow and arrow, the axe, the spear, and can even use a rope javelin for those opportune moments when he sees a fish in the river. In fact, he's very good at throwing things like knives and hatchets -- and you can't beat him in a game of darts. But his go-to weapons are his pair of hunting knives, which are always on hand.
Unsurprisingly, he's been hunting for many years. He's good at finding his prey, and he can skillfully strike them down undetected. The climbing tailpin he has attacked to his tail has often been used to provide a good high vantage point for striking unsuspecting critters. He'll jab the pin into a tree or cliffside and hang upside-down waiting for his quarry to get in range before making his move. It's certainly a neat tactic for archery, and if things don't go well he's at least as so high a spot that his prey can't chase after him.
But he really likes to take risks. He may opt to fall from the high distance and strike his prey in-person. It's usually in the interest of satisfying his hunger for action, a good dose of adrenaline to keep him feeling young and spry. Of course, he's gotten many scars from such reckless behavior, but it's never deterred him from jumping back into the fray.
Oh, and maybe don't try to pick a fight with him. He's taken out wolves and bears without fear, so he's certainly not afraid to get a fellow Jakkai's nose bloody.
BONUS:
Tumblr media
Seamus Sparkeye, shirtless.
Initially used to set up the framework for his coat, it was also a good way show off some more of his scars. They don't bother him so much, as they provide a clear reminder: even with some of the poor choices he made while hunting those wild creatures, he was the one that survived.

Devil’s Edge – Damascus Blade Bone Grip Hunting Knife
A practical and stylish companion for the hunt, trail or everyday utility, this knife has a durable blade of damascus steel. The vibrant patterning on the blade was created when the hand-forged blade was formed from two different steels which were skillfully melded and folded by the bladesmith. Like a fingerprint, no two are exactly alike. The comfortable and elegant grip is crafted from well-polished scales of bone and brass which are riveted directly to the thick blade tang for a tough and lasting overall construction.
Included with the knife is a sheath of thick leather with well-stitched construction and a belt loop for wear on its reverse.

"I don't like Scandi grind because they dull fast and a lot of metal is stripped away resharpening; but I like Moras because they're cheap and replaceable." Okay, um, when I was younger knives used to come in rhombic grind. The Scandi grind came about because they're easier to mass-produce on an industrial scale, and thus driving down the cost of making knives. Nowadays you have to seek out blanks from Yrjö Puronvarsi, Laurin Metalli etc and find a small-scale knife-maker if you want a rhombic grind. I don't know what to make of that statement. You're older than me, yet I remember whittling away with old knives that were produced before mechanization of belt-sanding.
