DC ExtraTime on Tumblr: Hunter’s Revealing Moment
From DCBLOG and during The Challenge Invasion: http://dc408dxtr.blogspot.com/2017/02/dc-wrap-double-shot-challenge-invasion_21.html
As we saw last week, Hunter has made a name for himself in winning that second mission with Ashley, them earning a spot in the Oasis and getting the wrath of Cory after winning. As we told you in our Who Are These Newbies? intro to him, he is playing this game not necessarily for himself, but to make a lasting impression on those less fortunate in using any money he wins to invest in a gym for those with special needs in the same Florida community where he volunteers as much time as he can.
However, Hunter's most memorable moment until last week was what happened in week 3 in the AYTO Season 3 house - a week after their infamous blackout. After that week's challenge, the guys treated the living room as their own strip club as the girls of the house enjoyed the moves of the guys in their boxers. This was the result of a bet they made that if the girls got more lights than the guys in their first two matchups they would have a night of entertainment, shall we say. Of course, Mike of that season and the ensuing Real World Bad Blood season was a stripper when we first met him in the Islands two years ago.
There, Hunter went to the closet to look at himself, and thought of what he could do to get the girls' attention. He decided to stuff a sock in his boxers and then went around the house trying to convince the girls that his package is actually larger than it actually is. Almost immediately, he got caught. One of them who felt skeptical was Cheyenne: "I feel so bad about Hunter because I really feel like he needs to go home and get some help. There's no reason why you should ever put a sock in your boxers and walk around like you got four d.... inside there. It's weird."
The next day, Hannah joined in on the package situation: "Dude, you put a sock in your junk to make it look bigger. Don't try and lie...we all figured you out." And with her, Stacey, Chelsey, Rashida and Cheyenne watching from their beds, Hunter put something inside his boxers that was blocked out by the folks in the censor department but nonetheless shocked those girls watching, with Stacey saying "Hunter got a big one." All Rashida would respond to that was, "Hold on baby, you might be my match (laughs)." And Cheyenne added, "I really wanted you to have this itty bitty turtle d.... It was oddly big."
When everyone got watch that moment on TV, it was no surprise that this moment grabbed the attention of Hunter's own family. His mom left this voicemail after the episode aired, for which you can check out the video on MTV's YouTube channel.
"Hey Hunter, it's mom. Oh my, oh my. Hunter Brian Barfield, what are you thinking? Showing your package to all those girls on national television. If I could come to (inaudible), I would choke the s... out of you right now. Oh my god, when I saw you walk into the kitchen and the girls were talking about a sock in your boxers, I almost died. I almost died because obviously I'm your mother and I know that you're not putting a sock in your bottoms. I know that that's the real you. I was just shocked that the girls were just questioning that. Did you have to take it that far to prove to them that there was actually not a sock in your boxers? Oh my god, your Nana and Papa are watching. What are you thinking, son? You know how your Nana and Papa are. Maybe I should warn them. I need a drink right now. You need to call me back. I love you...call me."
youtube
When he heard that message, all Hunter could say via Skype was, "I was not expecting this. So awkward. Well mom, I'm sorry that you had to see that. From watching that, you knew I didn't stuff it or anything. And the girls, you know, I felt they were challenging me. So at that point, I had to prove a point. To my Nana and Papa, during this part of the episode we're gonna have you guys change the channel. Obviously, you guys know how I am to be. But, just change the channel during the portion of the episode."

The Challenge has been one of MTV’s biggest success stories. The show developed from two previous MTV hits, The Real World and Road Rules, and was initially devised as a series in which stars from those shows would take part in a series of competitions and challenges against each other.
RELATED: The Challenge: 5 Of The Show’s Best Showmances (& 5 Of Its Cringiest)
MTV celebrated the 30th season of The Challenge in 2017 with The Challenge XXX: Dirty 30, featuring all the villains and bad guys from previous series. Some of these reality TV stars proved that a leopard can change his spots, while others maintained their bad boy (or bad girl) persona throughout.
10 Chris Tamburello
Some of the cast members on The Challenge have become celebrities in their own right, after appearing on several MTV shows, including Dirty 30. Chris “CT” Tamburello got his reality TV start on Real World: Paris in 2003 and has gone on to compete in several Challenge series.
Tamburello is well known for his quick temper and hot-headedness. While this may make him a terrible roommate or teammate, he is reality TV gold, and viewers love to see him on the small screen.
9 Tori Deal
There were plenty of female bad girls from The Challenge who more than qualified for Dirty 30 and who fans would love to see more of in future seasons. Tori Deal made her MTV debut on the fourth season of dating show Are You The One? where she gained a reputation for playing politics to try and get ahead.
Tori started Dirty 30 dating Derrick Henry, but when he was eliminated from the show she soon turned her affections to Jordan Wisely in a bid to ensure the couple got plenty of screen time.
8 Jenna Compono
Jenna Compono was one of the stars of the explosive Real World: Ex-Plosion, a take on the original formula in which the roommates went away on vacation only to return and find that their exes, including Compono, had also moved in.
RELATED: The Challenge: 10 Competitors With The Best Talking Heads
She went on to become a Challenge regular, where she became known as such a fierce competitor that she ended up with the nickname “Barbie Beast”. Jenna was a last-minute substitute on XXX after Alicia Wright pulled out due to injury, but she had more than earned her place on the 30th-anniversary show.
7 Johnny Devenanzio
Arguably one of the biggest MTV reality stars, “Johnny Bananas” Devenanzio is always popular with viewers, despite the cunning and often downright deceitful tactics he employs to win. He has even managed to charm his rivals and is one of the few Challenge stars who has enjoyed a celebrity career beyond MTV reality franchises.
Devenanzio first appeared in Real World: Key West and has since competed in over a dozen Challenge-related series, picking up more than his fair share of wins on the way.
6 Veronica Portillo
Reality TV star and fashion entrepreneur Veronica Portillo made her MTV debut on the global Road Rules: Semester at Sea back in 1999. She has been part of the Challenge family for more than 20 years, and it almost seems unthinkable to have a Challenge season without Veronica taking part!
She has a reputation for falling out with other contestants on her shows, often because of her social game tactics and creative strategic play, and she definitely knows how to play a good game.
5 Derrick Kosinski
Derrick Kosinski is another familiar face to Challenge fans, and he finished as runner-up among the male contestants in the Dirty 30 season. He made his first appearance on MTV in Road Rules: X-Treme in 2004 and soon became known as the party animal of the group.
RELATED: The Challenge: 10 Times The Producers Had To Step In
Derrick was only 20-years-old while filming Road Rules, and though he has grown up and matured a lot throughout his Challenge career, he is still more than capable of pulling a few surprises.
4 Hunter Barfield
The MTV dating show Are You The One? is a relative newcomer to the reality TV scene compared to some of the other shows that have contributed Challenge contestants over the years. Hunter Barfield was one of the stars of season three of Are You The One? and soon became part of the Challenge family.
As one of the three main players in "Team Young Bucks", Barfield distinguished himself using his muscle-bound physique to put in an impressive performance in some of the more physical challenges.
3 Cara Maria Sorbello
Cara Maria Sorbello was the female runner-up in Dirty 30, having made her MTV debut on The Challenge: Fresh Meat 2 in 2010 when she appeared as one of the Challenge newbies.
She may have a fiery temper with a propensity for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, but she also has a resolute drive to win and is surprisingly smart for a reality TV star, which makes Cara Maria a fearsome competitor on The Challenge. Her sense of style also ensures that she stands out from the usual MTV crowd.
2 Aneesa Ferreira
When it comes to The Challenge, it seems like Aneesa is always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Despite being one of the most seasoned vets in the franchise who always consistently makes it pretty far in the game, she has never managed to pull out a win.
She can always be relied on for a solid performance and even better confessionals though, so she has definitely earned repeated invites to The Challenge.
1 Jordan Wiseley
Camila’s winning male counterpart in The Challenge XXX was Jordan Wiseley, who made his MTV debut on Real World: Portland in 2013, and who quickly set about making himself a Challenge regular.
Born with one hand, Jordan has had to fight to get where he is, and sometimes he can take that combative attitude a little too far in competition. His arrogance always creates friction with the other guys – and MTV viewers love nothing more than a bit of drama!

But why would Wes vote Cara?
One vote is already for Hunter.
Turbo would have never voted Cara in, because of their little Paulie/Cara/Turbo/Theo alliance going on. If Wes voted Ninja, it’s doubtful that Turbo would have gone with Hunter.
Now what Wes’ vote for Cara did is:
1. Threw Hunter into elimination by default.
2. Made him a new (old) enemy in the person of Cara.
Unless he wanted to discreetly get rid of Hunter, meanwhile risking Cara’s revenge, I don’t see what he was attempting to achieve with that 😐

‘The Challenge’: Ashley Defends Not Splitting The $1 Million With Hunter — ‘Life Isn’t Fair’
New Post has been published on http://postkhazana.com/the-challenge-ashley-defends-not-splitting-the-1-million-with-hunter-life-isnt-fair/21/11/2018/
‘The Challenge’: Ashley Defends Not Splitting The $1 Million With Hunter — ‘Life Isn’t Fair’
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Fans of ‘The Challenge’ are torn over Ashley’s decision not to give Hunter half of the $1 million they earned on ‘Final Reckoning,’ and she took to Twitter to defend herself after the finale. Ashley Mitchell took home $1 million on The Challenge: Final Reckoning, after finishing the final challenge faster than her partner, Hunter Barfield, and deciding to keep all the money for herself rather than splitting it with him. It’s the same vicious move Johnny Bananas made against his partner, Sarah Rice, on Rivals 3, and it proved to be just as controversial this time around. Ashley’s fans defended her power move, but she was also flooded with messages of hate for depriving Hunter of the money he helped her earn as her partner on the show.
Well, to those haters she had one message on Twitter after the finale aired: “The only fare I know is what I use to pay to ride the bus,” she wrote. “Life isn’t fair. That sucks.” However, she also added in another tweet that she “hates” watching the finale back, and admitted in a post-show interview that she did feel bad for Hunter in the moment. “I know he had a really rough season and I saw some parts of Hunter I had never seen before,” she told People. “But I can only imagine what that was feeling like. So, honestly, I was not feeling boastful or like gloating. I felt really, really bad for him and his family that’s going to be watching. I didn’t feel like he deserved that, but I did feel like I deserved the million dollars.”
Ashley revealed on the show that she was taking the money from Hunter because of the way he verbally abused her all season long. Specifically, she just couldn’t put out of her mind the comment he made about her being a “f***ing slut” and his threat about “coming for [her] family” if she cost him the win. However, she admitted to People that it was her plan all season long to take the money if the opportunity was given.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

Rare Kabul exhibition brings taste of Mughal art back home
KABUL (Reuters) – An exhibition that reproduces the precious treasures of Mughal art in their original setting in Kabul’s Babur Garden opened this weekend, bringing a rare moment of cultural relief to a city pounded by war for decades.
An Afghan woman looks at art exhibition at Babur Garden in Kabul, Afghanistan March 31, 2018. Picture taken March 31, 2018. REUTERS/Mohammad Ismail
“King Babur’s Kabul: Cradle of the Mughal Empire” displays a selection of high quality reproductions of some of the masterpieces of the Timurid and Mughal periods from the mid-16th century, one of Central Asia’s richest cultural eras.
It follows a similar exhibition in December held in the historic citadel of the western Afghan city of Herat, at one time the seat of the powerful Timurid dynasty and one of the great centers of the Persian world.
At the Kabul exhibition’s launch on Saturday, Michael Barry, a world authority on Afghan art and culture who curated the exhibition reminisced about a visit he made to the city at the height of the brutal 1990s civil war.
“Here in the Bagh-e Babur, what we saw in 1994 was wreckage, broken trees, shells fired. The beautiful 17th century marble mosque here was full of bullet holes. All we saw was despair and ugliness.”
A woman looks at art exhibition at Babur Garden in Kabul, Afghanistan March 31, 2018. Picture taken March 31, 2018. REUTERS/Mohammad Ismail
The Bagh-e Babur or Babur’s Garden, one of the oldest surviving Mughal gardens, was named after the first emperor of the Mughal dynasty, which came to rule over much of India in the following three centuries.
Babur loved Kabul and was buried in the garden which he ordered to be created after he conquered the city in 1504. It was largely destroyed in the 1990s but was restored with the help of the Agha Khan Foundation in 2008.
The garden remains a popular picnic spot with Kabul families but the artistic riches of the Mughal court have disappeared from the city, with not a single original painting from the period known to be left in Afghanistan.
Slideshow (2 Images)
Barry said he had formed the determination to bring not just humanitarian aid to Afghanistan but to help restore some of the cultural heritage lost to the country through years of war.
“In this garden, we will bring back the magnificent paintings which so influenced world civilization, back to the Afghans, right here in this historical environment,” he said.
Over the centuries, all of the originals have been dispersed outside Afghanistan and while their removal undoubtedly saved many precious art works from destruction, their loss has deprived Afghans of a central pillar of their cultural heritage.
Using state-of-the-art printing techniques, dozens of miniatures have been reproduced on metal and put on display, showing a fabled world of poets, rulers, hunters and scenes of court life and making clear the considerable interplay that existed between European and Mughal art.
“Many of these disappeared from Afghanistan over 500 years ago, and even then only Shahs (kings) and Wazirs (ministers) and maybe senior scholars had an opportunity to see them,” said Thomas Barfield, President of the American Institute of Afghan Studies, which oversaw the organization of the exhibition.
“People may remember poetry but they cannot see the art.”
