introducing wade & logan to chappell roan

the three of you were sat on the couch in wade and logan’s apartment, watching the television until a commercial regarding the rising stars in music, and being the dramatic one you are, you almost screamed when chappell down came on.

both boys looked at you with pure terror in there eyes.

“what was that?”

“why are you screaming?”

you just wanted to get their attention so you laughed, and explained. “that was chappell roan. i absolutely love her.”

“who is that..?” logan asked, slightly confused, as wade nodded his head in agreement that he didn’t know who this woman was.

your mouth fell open. “neither of you know who chappell roan is?” both boys rolled their eyes, knowing they now unintentionally signed up for a day of education about chappell roan.

by the end of the lecture, each boy had come to a conclusion of their favorite songs.

logan’s favorite was after-midnight, because wade made a comment on how the song would be his theme song. logan acted like that comment annoyed him but logan actually smiled at it.

wade’s favorite was femininominon because he claimed it “followed the same speed of his brain” then wade continued to go on a rant about how he read this thing where that happens a lot with people with faster brains, which caused logan corrected him and said adhd.

the interactions between the two made you laugh, but you were happy you were able to share that music with them.

so while I do agree the Hannibal fandom is the least toxic fandom I’ve been in, there’s still issues (all fandoms do have them ) but this issue is about how most of the fandom is Sexist/ hatful towards the woman of Hannibal.

I see a lot of criticism towards Alana for example about how she “acts to not be like other girls “ or she very pick me” all because she drank a beer. Like babes if Hannibal was painting his nails and drinking a pina calanda y’all wouldn’t be saying “ Hannibal doesn’t act like that” or “it’s so out of character “ no you would be like “ oh my god so iconic of him “ or something like that.

or like the anon ask I just got telling me how someone said “to bad they made Freddie a woman because in the novels Will beat his ass” like that’s a gross comment and sexist.

Idrc if I get hate for this but stop acting like y’all want complex female characters when you can’t even handle characters like Bedliea or Alana for that matter.

y’all can’t even handle Chappell Roan a real life woman setting boundaries for herself and sticking up for her which you don’t see in the media or Hollywood for that matter. Very often.

Not unless women who have been in Hollywood for years have handled so much abuse/ sexism that they finally get fed up with it and say something after years of not saying anything.

that’s when ya’ll think it’s ok to finally stick up for themselves and say something.

Chappell is breaking that cycle.

stop saying you want complex characters if you can’t handle characters/ people like Freddie lounds or Chappell Roan.
