Currently on view at Modernism Gallery in San Francisco, California is artist Shawn Huckins' solo exhibition, "If I'm Home, Find Me Here."
"In these hand-painted recreations of historic works," Shawn explains, "fabrics are staged on a model in the studio, lit from the same direction and with the same temperature as the light source in the original painting, then drawn into the final composition. Bold, bright, and colorful fabrics cover all, or significant portions of the portrait. Viewers get few clues about the sitters, save an exposed hand, piece of jewelry, or beloved pet, all superficial details chosen to be revealed. Only in a painting’s title do we learn the subject’s identity, anything more that might be known about these people remains hidden beneath piles of cloth and clothing so ubiquitous it could be our own. The towering fabric head dress on Madame Mercier and heap of pride fabrics and underwear in Pride Portrait II appear poised for imminent toppling, while others, like those enveloping Robert Carter and George Washington look well-secured. This leaves us wondering what is hidden and what might be revealed should the fabrics fall, but also probes on how our perception of these subjects might change once uncovered and which subjects we’d prefer to be."
DC is so overdue for a Wonder Girls comic bc all three of them are interesting and cool as hell and need more love but also because we deserve an issue where Cassie, Yara, and Mia get kicked out of at least four night clubs in one night

1. Have you ever modified your own body? (Piercings, tattoos, scars, etc.)
2. Where do you feel the most safe?
3. Do you/have you ever had a pet?
Going with Henry for this one!
1. "Free time? Well, before I became a man I'd like to sew a little with my Mother, even younger and I was helping Rosie get in trouble. Nowadays I just look for more work. I'm not really one for cards or drinking overly with friends."
2. "Oh! I'd like to think that I'm a fine enough cook, but there's always room for improvement. I'm a better baker, when I've the privilege of a nice oven."
3. He laughs a little, "Rosie and I were little hellions that day. We'd dressed up in our neighbors clean laundry- right off the line, to play pretend. Then she filled her pockets with frogs while I kept watch. Failed miserably when Bill from down the street came 'round with his boys but in a flash, there was Rosie, muck up to her waist and screaming like a banshee. She started huckin' frogs at them, grabbed my hand and we ran and ran! We fell down breathless in a field, laughing like fools and said we'd never go back.
"Well, that lasted until our stomachs rumbled and when we went home, her Daddy tanned us both for the day's mischief and sent me back to my Mother. I was sent to bed without supper, but then I hear this tapping on my window! Rosie's outside all smiles with an apple she pinched from her neighbor. Of course I snuck out and we sat by the house, whispering and laughing.
She pulled out this little knife and said that we'd better make it official. I nearly cried when she pricked my hand, but she said it was important. Then she pricked her own and we shook on it. Best friends by blood, forever. That's uh, well, that's my best childhood memory. The whole day."
