Hardware Information of Huawei S6700 Switch

The below picture shows the logical structure of hardware modules of the switch.
Hardware modules of the Huawei S6700 Switch refer to the SCU (Switch Control Unit), power supply, and fan.

SCU The SCU is fixed on the Huawei S6700 Switch . Each S6700 has one SCU. The SCU is responsible for packet switching and device management. It integrates multiple functional modules, namely, the main control module, switching module, and interface module.
Main Control Module
The main control module implements the following functions: Processing protocols Functioning as an agent of the user to manage the system and monitor the system performance according to instructions of the user, and report the running status of the device to the user Monitoring and maintaining the interface module and switching module on the SCU.
Switching Module
The switching module, also called the switching fabric, is responsible for packet exchange, multicast replication, QoS scheduling, and access control on the interface module of the SCU.
The switching module adopts high performance chips to implement line-speed forwarding and fast switching of data with different priorities.
Interface Module
The interface module provides Ethernet interfaces for accessing Ethernet services.
Cards The Huawei S6700 Switch supports service cards. Service cards allow flexible networking and provide cost-effective and customized solutions. NOTE Among S6700 series switches, only S6720-EI/S6720S-EI supports service cards. Huawei S6720-30C-EI-24S-AC

What’s the Feature Dependencies and Limitations When Link Aggregation of Huawei Switch (1)
Configuration Notes Before an Eth-Trunk Is Configured
Each Eth-Trunk supports a maximum of 8 member interfaces on other models and 32 member interfaces on the S5720HI, such as Huawei S5720-32C-HI-24S-AC
In V200R009 and later versions, you can run the assign trunk command on the S6720EI (Huawei S6720-30C-EI-24S-AC) and S6720S-EI (Huawei S6720S-26Q-EI-24S-AC) to set the maximum number of LAGs and the maximum number of member interfaces in each LAG, and run the display trunk configuration command to check the configuration.
Member interfaces cannot be configured with some services or static MAC address entries. For example, when an interface is added to an Eth-Trunk, the interface must use the default link type.
An Eth-Trunk cannot be added to another Eth-Trunk.
Member interfaces of an Eth-Trunk must use the same Ethernet type and rate.
Interfaces that use different Ethernet types and rates cannot join the same Eth-Trunk. For example, GE and FE interfaces cannot join the same Eth-Trunk, and GE electrical and optical interfaces can join the same Eth-Trunk. 
Both devices of the Eth-Trunk must use the same number of physical interfaces, interface rate, duplex mode, and flow control mode.
If an interface of the local device is added to an Eth-Trunk, an interface of the remote device directly connected to the interface of the local device must also be added to the Eth-Trunk so that the two ends can communicate.
Both devices of an Eth-Trunk must use the same link aggregation mode.
In V200R009 and later versions, the assign trunk command fails to be executed on the S6720EI (Huawei S6720-30C-EI-24S-AC) and S6720S-EI (Huawei S6720S-26Q-EI-24S-AC) I enabled with SVF and Eth-Trunk specifications can only use the default settings.
When the number of active interfaces falls below the lower threshold, the Eth-Trunk goes Down. This ensures that the Eth-Trunk has a minimum available bandwidth.
The preceding configuration notes are applicable to scenarios where switches are directly connected. In the following scenarios, there are other configuration notes in addition to the preceding ones.

What’s the Power Supply Configuration of Huawei S6700 Switch
On a S6700-EI switch, one or two power modules can be configured.
When two power modules are used, they work in 1+1 backup mode to provide power for the device. In the versions earlier than V200R005C00, the AC and DC power modules cannot be configured on the same device, while in V200R005C00 and later versions, they can be configured on the same device.
Figure 1
shows the power supply connections of dual DC power modules. After DC power is transmitted to the PWR module, the PWR module provides -53 V output voltage, and the motherboard provides power for the entire device.
