So I’ve seen the Korean version of this and loved it so I thought I should watch the original as Shen Yue is one of my favorite actresses. She definitely was the star of the show as she was this pure innocent little person. She looked really tiny standing next too Hu Yi Tian lol. And I mean seriously, how could anyone not fall for Xiao Xi, she is so adorable and awkward, honestly it kind of makes you not like Jiang Chen because he is such a jerk to her most of the time. The story is pretty cute as it’s a story of young love but later in the story the ML definitely deserves to suffer a bit lol. Anyway I loved it and it was just as good as the Korean version. The support cast and their stories were great as well. I will say the ending seemed pretty rushed though Netflix gives a bonus episode with a few scenes you didn’t see from when they were in school so that was good. I definitely recommend especially if you are a Shen Yue fan ❤️

I'm loving this drama more and more! It patiently shows the characters' life through high school (I'm going onto Ep 18 and they're still in high school). I really like how the episodes are divided to focus on one incident at a time. You would have to watch a few episodes at a time to understand the whole story (For example, the bird flu incident). These are some of my favorite moments from Episodes 7-17:

Ep 10 - Jiang Chen finally realizes his feelings for Xiao Xi. Usually when he sees her with Bong Su, he gets jealous and acts cold towards her. This time though, he does the unexpected and reads the book ending for Xiao Xi in front of the whole school. (Jiang Chen was low-key announcing his love for Xiao Xi).

Ep 12 - Jiang Chen's heart beating after seeing Xiao Xi next to him. During their health exam, Xiao Xi and Jiang Chen ended up laying on the beds next to each other. The curtain between them opened and they turned to face each other. When Jiang Chen went to get his heartbeat measured, the nurse asked if he ran there. (This meant Jiang Chen's heart was beating fast when he saw Xiao Xi next to him. So cute! )

Ep 14 - Lu Yang's dramatic confession to Lin Jing Xiao! He made the scene dramatic by having his hair dyed and wearing piercings. (At this point, I'm not surprised by what Lu Yang does anymore lol).

Ep 16 - Jiang Chen admits that he wants to study medicine and stay by Xiao Xi's side. I love how he's getting more aggressive in pursuing Xiao Xi and showing more emotions.

Overall, I'm still left frustrated with the adult figures. There's a continuous struggle between doing what you desire and what your parents want. Jiang Chen has expressed to his Mom that he wants to study medicine instead of math, but she won't allow him to. At times, I feel she is trying to obtain bragging rights. Another adult figure I'm frustrated with is the school director. He only thinks about the school's public image, not the students' well-being. Someone like that shouldn't be running a school. I'm looking forward to see how their high school life comes to an end and how this experience will shape their adult life. She's in love with her long-time neighbor and classmate, Jiang Chen. Jiang Chen is the perfect boy: tall, good-looking, and ranked #1 in school. Their love story is similar to Mischievous Kiss, but the male lead is less cold. Viewers can see and understand why Jiang Chen is warming up to Xiao Xi. Be ready to be hit with second-lead syndrome. Wu Bo Song is always there to cheer up the heroine, even when he's having difficulties of his own. Wu Bo Song has a strained relationship with his father, who is also his swimming coach. His father pushes Wu Bo Song in swimming to the extreme to the point where Wu Bong Song even questioned himself if he likes swimming. Lin Jing Xiao is the perfect best friend a girl can asked for. She is tough and stands up for Xiao Xi. It's cute how they both became friends through a fan meetup. Also part of the small circle of friends is the comical, Lu Yang, who has a one-sided crush on Lin Jing Xiao. I can't wait to see their love development. 😆 I really liked how this drama doesn't just focus on romance, but also on school life. Xiao Xi's teachers and parents are always upset at her low grades. The teachers would pick on Xiao Xi and publicly humiliate her in front of her classmates. I'm upset at the fact that the adults seem to think everyone can excel at academics, which clearly isn't true. They only focus on the negative points: what Xiao Xi can't do, instead of what she can do. I am thankful that there is a teacher who can see her good points and believes in her. This is a brief review for Episodes 1-6.
