You’re My Best Mate
Requested: yes
Ron Weasley x platonic!reader (gryffindor)
Word count: 1522
This was my first request and first platonic!reader so i really hope you guys enjoy this :)))
✧✧✧
“Blimey, Y/n! If I had known that your potions essay was going to take this long I would’ve made sure to get my dinner first.”
Ron was, yet again, complaining about how long it was taking for you to finish your potions essay, an essay he was so keen to copy off of just yesterday.
“You can leave if you want, ya know?” You grunted without looking up from your parchment. “Also how do you spell ‘chizpurfle carapace’?”
The silence causes you to look up, only to be at the receiving end of a look telling you that he was in too much of a mood right now to help you.
Snorting you turned back to the parchment, “Nevermind, I’ll sound it out, mate. No need to get your knickers in a twist.”
“My knickers are not in a twist. Thank you for your concern.” Ron said, sarcasm oh so evident.
It had been an hour now, you guys had taken all of your free period and were now cutting into your dinner to finish the potions essay that would be due not tomorrow but the day after. Ron had already been in a foul mood after hearing about Hermione and Cormac McLaggen going to a Slug Club party together.
“Just go eat and you can copy off of Hermione later.” You knew it would rile him up, it’s why you said it.
Ron scoffs at the suggestion, “Please, she’s probably off snogging McLaggen.”
“Maybe if you weren’t a right git and just asked her out already she would be snogging you instead, Weasley.”
Ron huffed at your pointed look but decided against arguing, he knew you were right and he definitely didn’t like it.
The next twenty minutes, thankfully, went by mostly in silence which allowed you to finish your essay. No one was more excited for the announcement that you were done than Ron, who quickly stood up and helped you stuff your books into your bag claiming two was faster than one.
You handed him your bag as you both started to walk out of the library, Ron absentmindedly swinging it over his shoulder, ushering you out.
“Oh, by the way, mum’s asked about you. Wondering if you’ll make it over for Christmas this year? She’s making your favorite for dess-”
“I’ll be there.”
You didn’t need to be asked twice, especially when you knew Molly was making an English Trifle and not just any trifle, this was Molly Weasley’s English Trifle.
“Yeah, alright. Assumed that much, I already told her you’d be coming.”
You were suddenly giddy thinking about seeing Molly and Arthur again, they were like your second family and she was making a trifle.
“Made you shouldn’t come, you won’t leave any trifle for me. Like three years ago, remember that, when you came over and ate all the pie?”
The thought of that warm pecan pie made your stomach grumble, maybe you shouldn’t have cut into dinner for the essay.
“Oh yeah, that pie was great. Reckon she can make it next year?”
Ron shook his head with a laugh, “If you were the one to ask, probably.”
The Great Hall echoed with the voices from all four houses, dinner was well on its way already and Ron made sure to groan his disapproval at the already empty plates of rolls. Lucky for him, you were an incredibly thoughtful friend and only a mild kleptomaniac.
“No biscuits either, bloody hell.”
You pulled the roll out of your pocket and handed it to him with a knowing look.
“You're the best, Y/n.”
“Just shut up and eat it, Ernie Macmillan is starting to wonder where his bread went.”
Ron was quick to take a bite as you rushed to sit down at the Gryffindor table, Ernie seemingly none the wiser that it was you who swiped his roll.
You started to pile food onto your plate, quite hungry considering last you had a full meal was during breakfast. You thought to reach for the bowl of potatoes, but before you could push your arm out to grab them Ron thrust a spoonful on your plate.
“Thanks.”
With a quick glance at his plate you noticed what he was missing and was quick to grab it.
“Ron, you want some chi-”
“Yeah, throw me a wing. You want so-”
You shook your head, “I’ve got some already, mate.”
Ginny and Dean Thomas watched the interaction with furrowed eyebrows, it was odd how you two seemed to speak without words.
“How do you guys do that?”
Dean was the one to ask, Ginny having been rather used to it. Over summer she watched this happen during breakfast, somehow you and Ron would simultaneously fill each other's plates with little to no words spoken.
“Do what?” Ron and you both asked at the same time, looking up with identical looks of confusion.
“You guys talk...without talking. It’s weird.”
Ron seemed to look even more confused than before, “They’re my best mate, why wouldn’t I know what they want to eat?”
“Yeah, I’ve known Ron for ages. We’ve had meals together before.” You said matter of factly.
“It’s just...nevermind.” Dean shrugged figuring he wasn’t going to get anywhere with the two of you.
Ron turned to you with a grimace.
“Blimey, git doesn’t think I’d know what my best mate would want to eat.”
“Reckon he’s not that great of a mate then.”
Ron shuttered but made sure to whisper, “Not after I saw him snogging my little sister.”
You made Ron promise to tell you what had happened later in the common room, you were far too close to the culprit now to talk openly about it and knowing Ron, he could get rather loud when angered. You two carried on eating, occasionally joining in conversations around you but as the night grew older, your eyelids grew heavier.
The walk back to the Gryffindor towers was mundane, Harry and Hermione (busy with Slug Club stuff) joined you and Ron on the way. The new addition caused Ron to grumble next to you, your hand shooting out to pinch his side as a way of telling him to behave himself.
“Oi, pinch me one more time and I’ll whack you with a broom.” Ron said quietly.
You subtly turned to answer, “Stop mumbling like an angry git and I won’t have to pinch you.”
“Fine.”
He seemed to keep his word the rest of the way to the common room and plopped onto the couch, your bag hugged in his lap as his expression contorted into one of a very grumpy old lady as he watched Hermione go up to her dorm to knit a few more elf hats.
You reached a hand out to grab your bag, “Can I just get this ba-”
“Maybe I’m being too forward. I should cool it down, right Y/n? It’s a bit much, isn't it?”
The eye roll you couldn't help, along with the groan of annoyance was enough for him to realize that you didn’t agree.
The friendship between you two has been strong since first year. Your families got along, and you had a knack for being able to understand things from a different view than he did, often offering up pretty sound advice because of this. He trusted you, a lot, and vice versa. Ron was like your brother, your taller, ginger brother and you knew he saw you as another sibling. The friendship was sound and strong, leaving you two to be able to have little to no fear of speaking your minds to each other. So when your disagreement was as vocal as it just had been, he had no choice but to listen.
“Ron, you're my best mate, I love you, and I’m going to be completely honest right now, alright?”
Ron nodded leaning forward, “Get on with it then.”
“You are the most emotionally constipated person I have ever, in my years, met. She likes you Ron, a lot. And she has reason to, good looking bloke, you've got the red hair going for you.” You said motioning to his hair.
He nodded, a hand coming up to touch his hair, “Yeah, you’re right.”
“But you are tragically dense. Just talk to her.”
The conversation shifted after Ron agreed with you, he was emotionally constipated. He broke into a retelling of the time he beat Cormac McLaggen during the tryouts and turned to look at your reaction but he turned to face you with eyes closed, lips slightly parted, and even breaths. He smiled to himself and took it as his queue to go to bed also.
Before going however, he moved off the couch and gently shuffled you into a more comfortable lying down position on the now free sofa. He grabbed a blanket from the trunk by the fireplace and draped it over you, careful to cover your toes (he took your shoes off also) and your shoulders.
With a final pat to your shoulder, Ron muttered a quiet, “Night Y/n.” And made his way to his dorm.

Witchcraft Asks #1-105
So, just for @dearpenumbra and because I’m wide awake and bored and want to answer them: Here is the list of the 105 witchcraft questions I just finished answering. I answered one each day but feel free to answer them all at once or however you want to do it. Tag your it!
1. Are you solitary or in a coven? I am technically a solitary, though I have friends with whom I occasionally celebrate the sabbats and do other witchy things with.
2. Do you consider yourself Wiccan, Pagan, witch, or other? I use ‘Pagan’, ‘witch’, and ‘Druid’ to describe myself. My path of Druidry is inherently pagan because of its reverence of the earth and all life, and it contains practices that are part of witchcraft.
3. What is your zodiac sign? I am a Cancer!
4. Do you have a Patron God/dess? I do, for sake of Tumblr, I call them The Hunter and The Lady of the Lantern. They’re deities I’ve not found in any mythology- sort of my own unique perspective / interaction with the divine forces of the universe, and so I keep the names I call to them in ritual private.
5. Do you work with a Pantheon? I do work with other deities beyond my patron god and goddess. A lot of them are from the various Celtic pantheons and include: Brighid, Gofannon the Smith, Cerridwen, Mannanan Mac Lir, and Gwyn ap Nudd.
6. Do you use tarot, palmistry, or any other kind of divination? I read tarot, runes, and ogham. I own an agate scrying mirror, but it’s very finnicky and I’d love to learn palmistry some day.
7. What are some of your favorite herbs to use in your practice? (if any) I use sage for cleansing, mugwort for a couple of blends of incense for divination, and lavender to cleansing, peace, intuition, etc.
8. How would you define your craft? It’s a path of Druidry dedicated to the Wylde Hunt.
9. Do you curse? If not, do you accept others who do? I have cursed- only in extreme situations, and the curse I used was aimed more at making the target realize how negative and toxic the bullshit they’ve been spewing/causing is. Sort of a “You’re going to realize the full horror of your actions” kind of a thing.
10. How long have you been practicing? The summer solstice will mark my 13th year.
11. Do you currently or have you ever had any familiars? I have familiar spirits: a black dog that goes by the name Yew, and a raven with a gold stripe on its beak named Gildenbeck. I’ve never had a familiar in the sense of a pet who does witchy stuff with me though.
12. Do you believe in Karma or Reincarnation? I believe in reincarnation and that our cations in one life affect the next. I’ve done  a past life regression before, but that’s a story for a post that isn’t QUITE this long.
13. Do you have a magical name? I used to. I’ve got through a number of them over the years, changing them out as I see fit. My most recent one was actually the name I started this blog under: Brenna Adaira, but I’ve since outgrown it, and don’t really feel the need for one.
14. Are you “out of the broom closet”? Yes. I have been from the very beginning.
15. What was the last spell you performed? Shit. I don’t even remember. I’m not super big on spells. Anything more complex than carving a candle and charging it with intention to leave burn on my altar is usually not something I bother with.
16. Would you consider yourself knowledgeable? This is a silly question. As I’ve been practicing 13 years, and as someone with a bachelor’s degree, I’d say yes. I am knowledgeable about a number of things. However, I recognize there are many things I’m not knowledgeable about and there is always room for growth and learning.
17. Do you write your own spells? Since they’re very slapdash? Yes. They get written as I’m throwing spell components together to just DO THE THING.
18. Do you have a book of shadows? If so, how is it written and/or set up? I have recently started compiling a more formal grimoire of my path and all of its integral components. My working book of shadows however is always a sketchbook that gets carried around with me literally everywhere. It’s got drawings, scribbled poetry, journal entries, cut and pasted pictures, ritual outlines, musings, research notes, etc. and it’s all pretty out of order and chaotic. But I love the freedom of not having to be too careful with how I structure things and just let everything happen organically.
19. Do you worship nature? I do not worship nature. I honor the forces of nature; I treat them with respect and work to do my best to live in harmony with them. We are part of nature, not separate beings.
20. What is your favorite gemstone? Oof. This is a tough one. Moss Agate or Moonstone... but also Citrine and Opal. xD
21. Do you use feathers, claws, fur, pelt, skeletons/bones, or any other animal body part for magical work? I have a pheasant wing fan I use for smoke cleansing. I also have a small set of antlers that I’m still meaning to make into a proper headdress for ritual wear. Right now, they sit with my statute of The Hunter and the rest of my Wylde Hunt stuff.
22. Do you have an altar? Usually, yes. At the moment I don’t because I’ve been sort of in-transit for months. I’m moving back home at the end of the week though, and setting up an altar is the FIRST thing I intend to do.
23. What is your preferred element? Air. I love wind, stars, storms, gentle breezes through the forest, music, singing, the power of words.
24. Do you consider yourself an Alchemist? Not even in the slightest. XD
25. Are you any other type of magical practitioner besides a witch? Already answered above, but I’m a Druid! ^_^
26. What got you interested in witchcraft? I answered this in my previous post.
27. Have you ever performed a spell or ritual with the company of anyone who was not a witch? Yes! We used to frequently invite non-pagan friends to celebrate sabbats with us. One year, we actually erected a Maypole in my backyard and did a maypole dance.
28. Have you ever used ouija? Nope, and I would never. I don’t need it to speak with my guides, I don’t wanna poke at the dead, and I don’t trust them as reliable tools.
29. Do you consider yourself a psychic? I have strong intuition, but I wouldn’t call myself a psychic.
30. Do you have a spirit guide? If so, what is it? I have a couple, but the main one appears to me as a sort of elven / druidic entity (kinda Tolkien elf-ish with the blonde hair and all that). He goes by the name of Brannan and has been sort of my Druid guide both before and during my OBOD studies.
31. What is something you wish someone had told you when you first started? I wish someone had taught me really basic grounding and centering exercises and energy work first. Instead, I jumped right into gods and spells and rituals and all sorts of silliness early on in my path.
32. Do you celebrate the Sabbats? If so which one is your favorite? I haven’t this past year or so because I’ve been trying to get my bearings post-college again. But my favorite is Midsummer. It’s closest to my birthday, marks the anniversary of my dedication to studying witchcraft, and is just always a super heightened time for me spiritually speaking.
33. Would you ever teach witchcraft to your children? Yes. There’s another, longer blog post coming about my thoughts on this, but the short version of it is that I would rather give them some manner of religious context and collection of traditions and heritage than leave them completely on their own to consider the big universal questions religion is supposed to answer.
34. Do you meditate? Not nearly as often as I would like, but at least a couple of times a month.
35. What is your favorite season? Autumn. I love the gloom and the smell of the leaves, and the rain and how windy it gets, and the colors, and of course all of the things like pumpkin spice and Halloween. It’s another time of deep spiritual work for me. This is when the Wylde Hunt rides, and I mark my progress on my path in devotion to them.
36. What is your favorite type of magick to preform? I don’t actually like doing magick other than charging and burning candles. I’m sort of a lazy witch and usually find it more necessary to do inner work to get through a problem than to try and effect change in the world around me.
37. How do you incorporate your spirituality into your daily life? I take actions that align with my spiritual goals: living in harmony with the natural world, creating beautiful things, never stopping my own growth and learning, and compassion for others. I recycle where I can, try to reduce waste and reuse things. I take walks in nature and spend time in the woods. I stay informed so I can vote in ways that put people in power who care about our world. I take time to notice beauty in small places: a bird flying over head, stars in the winter sky, the way the sun is coming in through a window. When all of life is sacred, the spiritual path is not separate from the rest of your life. It becomes the lens through which you frame your life.
38. What is your favorite witchy movie? If I had to choose.... damn. I really can’t. The triad of Hocus Pocus, The Craft, and Practical Magic kinda take that place. I love them all in different ways.
39. What is your favorite witchy book, both fiction and non-fiction. Why? My favorite witchy books... Non-fiction: Living Druidry by Emma Restall-Orr, because it’s a look at Druidry through a Druid’s eyes. It introduces Druid concepts without the formal textbook layout, and I love reading about her experiences. Fiction: The Tree Shepherd’s Daughter and the associated series by Gillian Summers because who wouldn’t love a book about an elf who talks to trees whose day job to hide among humans is to make furniture to sell at Renaissance Festivals? Like... It’s just good, okay?
40. What is the first spell you ever preformed? Successful or not. This got answered in my last post.
41. What’s the craziest witchcraft-related thing that’s happened to you? And so did this one!
42. What is your favourite type of candle to use? I typically use those cheap chime candles or tealights. They burn down quickly and are easy to get ahold of.
43. What is your favorite witchy tool? I would have to say my drum. I love love love love raising energy with it or doing trance work while drumming.
44. Do you or have you ever made your own witchy tools? All of my wands have been handmade and my altar statues are all sculpted by hand. My ogham staves are handmade, and I’ve made a set of runes in the past, but they weren’t fond of me. XD
45. Have you ever worked with any magical creatures such as the fea or spirits? Ohhhh yes. Lots! The Wylde Hunt is one such example, but I’ve also worked with goblins and other various fae.
46. Do you practice color magic? I use color associations loosely, but don’t adhere to them too much.
47. Do you or have you ever had a witchy teacher or mentor of any kind? I did, sort of. My mom’s best friend was the one who bought me my first tarot deck, taught me how to read, etc. She gave me witchy homework now and then, but it wasn’t really a formal mentorship. She’s like another mother to me though, and I love her lots. <3
48. What is your preferred way of shopping for witchcraft supplies? Unfortunately, my preferred way is no longer possible. My local shop closed down in Feb of 2017 and I have been super sad ever since. I’m still trying to find a suitable alternative.
49. Do you believe in predestination or fate? I believe that we have free will and that the Universe sort of fills in the gaps. I think somethings are sort of “meant” to happen, but I don’t think everything is set in stone.
50. What do you do to reconnect when you are feeling out of touch with your practice? I light candles at my altar and just open myself to the energies, or I go on a walk with my friend, Mark. We always get into super deep conversations that get me back in the vibe.
51. Have you ever had any supernatural experiences? I could fill an ENTIRE post just on this alone, but yes. Plenty.
52. What is your biggest witchy pet peeve? Answered!
53. Do you like incense? If so what’s your favorite scent? I love incense! I tend to burn a lot of Dragon’s Blood, though I’ve recently discovered one called Mountain Heather that I am ALSO in love with.
54. Do you keep a dream journal of any kind? I keep weirdly vivid dreams in the notepad function on my phone. It’s usually right near my pillow and I just tap what I remember in there and try to go back to sleep.
55. What has been your biggest witchcraft disaster? Man, I can’t really think of a time things went horribly wrong to be honest.
56. What has been your biggest witchcraft success? Maintaining my practice and developing it into something uniquely my own.
57. What in your practice do you do that you may feel silly or embarrassed about? I know some people would say having spirit guides and such is silly. There are others who would say that energy work and psychic vampirism and the like are kinda woo-y and weird too.
58. Do you believe that you can be an atheist, Christian, Muslim or some other faith and still be a witch too? Anyone from any religion can be a witch. Witchcraft is a practice, not a religious path. Anyone can learn to raise and manipulate energy regardless of which deity they do/n’t worship.
59. Do you ever feel insecure, unsure or even scared of spell work? I just don’t usually feel a need for it. It’s usually able to be solved by mundane means or by doing inner personal work.
60. Do you ever hold yourself to a standard in your witchcraft that you feel you may never obtain? Don’t we all have perfectly aesthetic rituals that leave us feeling profound as a standard which we don’t ever quite meet? Aren’t we all secretly pining for Tumblr/Instagram worthy altars?
61. What is something witch related that you want right now? I actually really want to get a Tarokka deck, which is a tarot-esque oracle used in the D&D Curse of Strahd campaign. I want them for the campaign, but also to use for actual divination because it sounds like fun to try.
62. What is your rune of choice? I’m very partial to Kenaz (light, illumination, guidance), and Laguz (movement, water travel, magic, intuition).
63. What is your tarot card of choice? The 8 of Cups, The Star, and the 3 of Swords are all sort of cards I look at to determine if I’ll love or hate a deck.
64. Do you use essential oils? If so what is your favorite? I do use some, albeit sparingly. I’m rather fond of patchouli, sage, and a heather one I found.
65. Have you ever taken any kind of witchcraft or pagan courses? I’m currently wrapping up the Order of Bards Ovates and Druids’ Bardic Grade Course.
66. Do you wear pagan jewelry in public? Right now, my everyday necklace is a nine-pointed star which is supposed to represent the 9 sisters of Avalon, of whom Morgan le Fay was one.
67. Have you ever been discriminated against because of your faith or being a witch? Yes. Once, in early high school by a teacher. And once in college by some preppy sorority girl who wandered over to the LGBT clubs’ table at a Campus Life event looking to cause an argument.
68. Do you read or subscribe to any pagan magazines? Not magazines, but I follow a number of blogs both on Tumblr, Patheos, and Wordpress.
69. Do you think it’s important to know the history of paganism and witchcraft? Yes. Absolutely. The Burning Times weren’t about real witches. Modern paganism is not ancient paganism, and the context of myth, traditional practices, etc. are important.
70. What are your favorite things about being a witch? The language and tools I have with which to describe my experiences and think about and interact with the rest of the universe.
71. What are your least favorite things about being a witch? Being a conscious being and co-creator with spirit is freaking hard, yo.
72. Do you listen to any pagan music? If so who is your favorite singer/band? My absolute fave is Damh the Bard, but also give S.J. Tucker and OMNIA a listen. <3
73. Do you celebrate the Esbbats? If so, how? I used to do Dark Moon tea and meditation time with the Dark Goddess. Usually if I do something for any of the moon phases it’s sort of spur of the moment these days.
74. Do you ever work skyclad? I don’t, because I currently lack private space to do so.
75. Do you think witchcraft has improved your life? If so, how? Well, I am an empowered being with knowledge and love of the Universe and the divine connections between us all. I’m also equipped with various techniques for performing inner transformative work as well as affecting change in the world around me. What’s not to love?
76. Where do you draw inspiration from for your practice? My practice is a lot of “Solitary Wicca” meets OBOD druidry, meets a sort of Dragonheart ‘knights of the Old Code’ sort of feel. It’s about nature, creativity, and living honorably.
77. Do you believe in ‘fantasy’ creatures? (Unicorns, fairies, elves, gnomes, ghosts, etc) I do. I don’t believe they exist corporeally in this plane of existence though.
78. What’s your favorite sigil/symbol? I’m not sure I could pick one... but if I had to, I’d say the symbol for Awen.
79. Do you use blood magick in your practice? Why or why not? I’ve used blood in magic exactly twice. Once was in a dedication rite to The Hunter, and the other was to the Wylde Hunt. Both times it was blood from something like a paper cut or popped blister, whatever that was already available. I used it as a potent source of energy but also as a sympathetic tie to myself. Since I was dedicating myself to said entity, using it as a taglock made sense.
80. Could you ever be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t support your practice? Absolutely not. Thank you, next.
81. In what area or subject would you most like your craft to grow? I’m looking to pursue the OBOD’s further courses. I want to become a celebrant for the order and perform marriage, death, etc. rites for others within the order as well as those in the pagan community.
82. What’s your favorite candle scent? Do you use it in your practice? I love candles that smell like mulled spices or coffee or pumpkin. I don’t use them for magic, just for ambiance.
83. Do you have a pre-ritual ritual? (I.e. Something you do before rituals to prepare yourself for them). If so what is it? I ground and center before every ritual. Beyond that, I’m usually doing magic on the fly.
84. What real life witch most inspires your practice? Emma Restall-Orr, whom I’m not sure would identify as a witch. She’s technically a druid and author of various books and I love how gritty and honest and earthy what she shares is.
85. What is your favorite method of communicating with deity? I like to get somewhere quiet, and channel them through sort of automatic writing. I also frequently use visualization / meditation techniques to go to my sacred grove and speak with them there.
86. How do you like to organize all your witchy items and ingredients? What is this... organize you speak of? All spell components are in wee jars in a drawer. xD
87. Do you have any witches in your family that you know of? My mom was a practicing Wiccan when I was little, and my sister has interest in witchcraft.
88. How have you created your path? What is unique about it? Answered in my last post.
89. Do you feel you have any natural gifts or affinities (premonitions, hearing spirits, etc.) that led you toward the craft? If so what are they? I have a strange knack for vibing with plants/crystals/etc. and just knowing what they can be used for. I’ve also always had the ability to sort of see/hear things not there: spirits, fae, etc.
90. Do you believe you can initiate yourself or do you have to be initiated by another witch or coven? To be initiated implies you are entering into a group. The OBOD gives you the opportunity to initiate yourself if you aren’t close enough to a grove, but the point stands that it’s a ritual given to you by someone else. You can dedicate yourself to a specific path, but initiation implies you’re being included in something you once were not included in.
91. When you first started out in your path what was the first thing or things you bought? I’m pretty sure it was a new tarot deck, tbh. It’s been too long. I don’t remember.
92. What is the most spiritual or magickal place you’ve been? Answered in the last post: but Avebury, England.
93. What’s one piece of advice you’d give someone who is searching for their matron and patron deities? They aren’t necessary for a balanced and successful path. I know it can be weird not having a specific god/ddess but it’s really really really not necessary to find one right away  to be able to have a successful practice.
94. What techniques do you use to ‘get in the zone’ for meditation? I dim the lights, drink some coffee or wine, get somewhere comfy, and put on some quiet music.
95. Did visualization come easily to you or did you have to practice at it? It used to come a lot more easily to me. I realized I was using it as sort of escapism and stopped, and have been building it back again.
96. Do you prefer day or night? Why? I prefer night. Everyone else is asleep and it gives me time and space to think and work on things without being disturbed.
97. What do you think is the best time and place to do spell work? The best time and place is when and where you need it most.
98. How did you feel when you cast your first circle? Did you stumble or did it go smoothly? We forgot to include a means of opening the circle in our first ritual’s notes. So... sort of a stumble.
99. Do you believe witchcraft gets easier with time and practice? Yes... and no. Because with time and practice, you come to find deeper things, and bigger truths. It builds upon itself.
100. Do you believe in many gods or one God with many faces? In my belief system, all gods are separate beings, but all a part of the Great Song of Creation that gives life to the universe.
101. Do you eat meat, eggs and dairy? I do! No restrictive diets here.
102. What is your favorite color and why? I can’t truthfully pick one. I’m fond of burgundy lately.
103. What is the one question you get asked most by non-practitioners or non-pagans? How do you usually respond? “I really like your necklace; what does that symbol mean?” To which I say “I got it at a renaissance festival; it’s supposed to represent the nine sisters of Morgen LeFay.” which seems to be an acceptable response.
104. Which of your five senses would you say is your strongest? Probably my sight.
105. What is a pagan or witchcraft rule that you preach but don’t practice? “Always cast a circle.” I recommend it for new folks, but I rarely ever actually cast one myself.

AUs~
Heeyy here’s two things. The first one I daydreamed about late yesterevening and the other was a fever dream but I really liked it.
So you know Primus and Unicron and all the Thirteen~ No, this isn’t a Rudolph sing along. I came up with a another ‘god’ of sorts and it’s hecka stupid. But we all know there’s god(dess) of love and god(dess) of dreams well what about a Cybertronian ‘god’ who does both? Imagine a god that enters bots dreams and tells them all the bonds they’re going to make over their lifetime. (conjunx endura, emica endura, partner bonds, offspring bonds, etc). Sadly, 99.9% of bots never remember their dream in which this god visits them. The .1% chance that do recall waste their lives trying to chase down these SPECIFIC bots that they were shown, so in a way, it’s probably for the best most don’t remember. A very few 5-10% percent will get a vague sense of deja vu when meeting certain bots in their life that was shown to them in this dream, but they tend to think they just  crossed paths before. I got some srs shits n giggles imagining Blackout, during the height of his career in the Pits of Kaon, being visited by this god. And he’s like whoa what the heck why are you showing me this stuff? What is that? Is that a bug? I’m confused. What? Why are you showing me these things? Then he sees Novastrike. “No. No no no no no.” he says. The god is confused. “Something wrong? Not what you expected?” And Blackout’s like ya damn right who??? would want this?? vague gesture @ self. I’m not gonna settle ur crazy. Single Mech Life (TM). Also wow that femme is gorgeous af she must have some low standards. Like do you see her??? Damn. That is a fine lookin’ femme. Is she a goddess????? priMUS wow. For kicks, imagining Nova eventually being visited by this god and when she sees Blackout she’s like “he’s terrifying.” and then pauses and is like “but he’s handsome wow.” and then being nervous cuz he doesn’t look like the gentle type but wooOWWW look at that mech. How?? this gonna work?? When they do meet in the future they both end up with a strange deja vu experience. q;

The fever dream au that I ended up loving way too much for my own good~
There was a Goddess. She remains unnamed throughout the story except by her god-children, whom call her Mother. She is the creator; making the world, the humans, and Her children. The children we meet in this au are the Daughter of Fire (unnamed), the Daughter of Water (unnamed), the Son of the Underworld (unnamed). As well as a special Daughter of Persuasion.
I’ll cut out the beginning of the story since it’s unnecessary here (Fire and Water’s feud, eventually coming together, Persuasion’s birth during the war, etc). Basically after this continuous bickering between Fire & Water was finished, Mother went to sleep amongst the cosmos, giving humans the opportunity to grow on their own and her lesser-god children the ability to grow on their own.
Now being a very young new goddess, Persuasion (whose name we never get but well- ya’ll will recognize her quickly) starts spending her life persuading humans to do the right thing. They can’t see this goddess among them, save for sometimes glimpses out of the corner of their eyes. She is basically invisible among humans otherwise. She tells people not to cheat on their spouses, advises children not to steal, etc. Basically, she offers good to those who consider doing not-so-good things.
A man becomes absolutely obsessed with this goddess. From the glimpses of long flowing hair he’s seen out of the corner of his eyes, the stories of her grace and beauty, he must have her. So he goes on an adventure, and finds ‘wishing well’ per say. He casts a bounty of riches into this lake, and a humanoid merman of sorts emerges.
“What is your wish?”
“I wish for the Lady of Persuasion (name here) to become mortal,” he smugly demands.
“Your wish has been granted,” the merman echoes in a gurgly voice. “But be warned: your wish is temporary. No amount of magic can destroy a goddessof her true self forever.”
Pleased with himself, the man goes on his next adventure. Now mortal, the goddess has no ability to shield herself from humankind. Within a few days, the man somehow manages to hunt her down.
Taking pity on his sister, the God of the Underworld sends his leading and most trusted demi-god demon out to protect her.
This demonic being looks damn close to human, unless he is using his powers or grows furious. Then he becomes a frightening figure; foul, dark, frightening. Emerging from a portal into the human realm, the demi-god strikes down the human as he tries to steal away with Persuasion, saving her from the greedy human who tried to ensnare her.
Devastated that she was now human and unsure how, if it was even possible, for her to return to normal, Persuasion is reeling. She thanks the demon, who pities this poor youthful goddess. He goes to speak to his Lord, requesting that he stay and help the goddess. Although a bit upset to lose his best officer, the Underworld god agrees to his demi-god’s request.
While the demon is off speaking to his master, Persuasion gets a brief meeting with her Sister’s. Fire and Water temporarily use humanoid guises to greet their mortal sister. They offer her words of kindness; that she is brave and strong and will get through this. Unable to sustain their holoforms long however, they leave Persuasion shortly before the demon returns. She feels a little easier at heart, but still scared and worried.
This starts a grand adventure between the demon and the goddess as they try finding a ‘cure’ to fix her. They speak with human priests and priestess, shaman and monks. They pursue endlessly for months and hints on how to return her to her goddess form. At one point, Persuasion gets sick, and they visit a medicine woman of sorts. She blesses the goddess in the name of the Mother, using however a name the humans use. Persuasion at one point calls her ‘Mother’ in front of his older woman, who seems surprised. No one had referred to the great Goddess as ‘Mother’ in a long time. She seems to realize that this mortal woman is not in fact ‘mortal’ and wishes her luck on her journey when she leaves with the demon.
I could write literally a story based off their journey but the important notes throughout is their growth and understand towards each other. When the demon grows ‘ugly’ per say; his ghoulish form showing, the goddess is no less gentle and soft with him. She never shows fear; is willing to argue with him even like this and hold him. And he sees through her courage to her fear and confusion. Young, naive, willing to trust anyone she meets so easily; he tries his best encourage her to stay open to the world even when it tries to break her but to be cautious and accepting of herself. For although some thought of her as a trickster, she was really just a soft voice of reason, and she was filled with good.
They end up kissing and it’s sweet af and I died ;u; And there’s even a point when the demon is going all angry fueled asshole beast mode at one point and she still kisses him later like that and!! yes I’d kiss a monster too tbh.
Clearly THINGS were developing between them. Edgy protective buttwipe and soft but determined cute stuff.
Strangely enough, what ends up curing the goddess is that she is fatally stabbed by a jealous human man who desires her affections but she refuses to accept his advances because she’s grown feelings for her demon friend. After a swift murder of the human, the demon goes to remove the spear from the goddess only to find light pouring out of her wound. He stays away, admittedly worried the light would destroy him (he is a child of darkness  more or less).
As the wound heals, a white light cleanses over Persuasion and she’s ‘reborn’ back into her goddess self. :3 And instead of the demon going back to his master, he asks for freedom to stay with the goddess he loves. Deeply saddened to see him go, the Underworld God agrees. He has other exceptional warriors, it’s just disappointing to lose his best, but he understands.
Idk it was a cute au. I didn’t realize it was even going off track and becoming an otp au until we got the demon boi in on this and I was like “oh my god”. The amount of love and affection that peppers throughout this was hecka cute tho hng I’d put it all down but my will to type it all out is zero.

New Moon in Leo~The Wave of Purging
New Moon in Leo~The Wave of Purging
By A Gift From Gaia
The winds have arrived early, in fact our magnetic field cracked just before midnight (UK) and the winds began pouring through. Nothing too strong, nice and easy at present however I’m sure many of you felt the switch.
Sleep becomes more tricky simply because we are processing more light and our cells get to work on the remodelling of the codes, regardless of what time it is, if the work needs to be done then it shall be done and us mere mortals have just one instruction.
SURRENDER
Any moans or complaints is a direct block to Source, a request to fall back to the sleepy human state, so in order to stay open and allow we honour the process, we limit our human DOing and we allow in to our fields that which is of love, assistance and compassion.
And this wave holds the energy of PURGE.
This may manifest within your reality, the physical contradictions leave, it could be within your body, ailments tend to speak for your attention, night sweats, dreams etc.
You will know these as ascension symptoms but let’s change that old out dated thought process, there are no symptoms there are only symbols, all of which are coded messages, from a language you have long forgotten, highlighting the separation between your mind and heart or the mind and body, the communication that is actually so natural has been ignored for thousands of years by most and instead of going within and discovering what the body is trying to tell you most run to the pill cabinet to try and find something to silence the bodies signal. Those days are changing, and it’s time to fully reconnect with the physical and heal the separation, by showing Self the love it deserves
which of course once you master this you will notice how others in your field are attracted to your new wholeness, and as if by magic your field starts filling with more amazing respectful and responsible lightwalkers.
We are due 3 bursts of solar winds over the next few days as there are 3 coronal holes spewing out the gamma and plasma particles, creating the LIGHT energy, our masculine energy to activate and shift us into a new space.
However when observing OUT there you are more likely to witness a more chaotic stream as those blind to light tend to get rather agitated, unaware of why the emotions begin to stir, why things feel short and contradicting and if this is you, then go within and realise why you are resistant to light, use this energy to clear whatever it is that makes you want to retract back into your shell.
Release the words “this too shall pass” which are the words of some of the greatest spiritual bypassers. Instead scream THANK YOU now I’m gonna FIND YOU and get to work on the contradiction, dissolving and bringing it all to a space of zero point.
I’m sure I don’t need to be mentioning this now but for the new light beams here are the rules of solar activity.
Don’t drink alcohol – 1 glass is more like 3 and hangovers are heavy  Stay away from all stimulants and have a clean light food day with extra hydration. The body is going to be hard at work processing, which means we need to make sure the temple is clean and prepared. Mangos are my fav on solar days and coconut water  If it feels a little hectic then sit in a space of observation, make conscious choices and move clearly and concisely
Any overloads and overwhelms then we are humanDOing as opposed to humanBEing.
Things are bound to feel slower today, communication could well feel as though it’s all on slow Mo or perhaps the dubbing is out as Mercury Stations today ready to turn direct tomorrow on the Leo Super New Moon so whilst today could feel somewhat stretched the bungee cord is soon to ping forward, all you need do is allow the purge and cut those anchors for lift off.
So whilst Mercury is stationed, he is conjunct the Moon AND both opposing Pluto which gives some pretty loud internal dialogue and through this we get to witness feelings of hopelessness, a theme many of the grid keepers have been working through as deeper attachments to the material world have been cleared for those soon ready to enter into the new light coded spaces we are anchoring.  Emotions become heightened, the empath begins to act out and the wounding, particularly those who haven’t awakened their internal God/dess become quite reactive and manipulative, control issues arise for the opportunity to clear and the feminine feel continues as the moon is also in an orb with a conjunct Venus in Leo, Venus appears to be acting like a guiding light to the moon finishing up in Cancer, showing you clearly that by realising the truth of the current space, by acting consciously the balancing out, the newness coming in will be instantaneous and you are likely to wonder what 2as the fuss all about.
These moments simply strengthen the trust connection to Source and the separation reduces
And then we have our beautiful Vesta, the high priestess energy coming into play. Vesta is the keeper of the Sacred Flame, she teaches the importance of understanding your Divine energy and how to bring Self back to wholeness, through the sacred sexual energies of creation, Vesta takes us into SOULitude, she is the Seer, the Goddess and she knows her value and if Vesta is new then allow her to guide you back into your pure heart, and today she squares Mars which is most likely to show the collective where the sacred feminine has not yet awakened, creating, at first, the oppressed anger to rise FOR you to see the reflection and to use the Divine instruction Vesta gives to heal you back to wholeness.
Vesta supports the committed, not to the false loyalties of out there but the wholeness of Self and she will lead those ready to follow within back to the place of purity, where you will discover your value, your worth
and from here we create a whole new world.
This is super important energy right before the New Moon, a moon that takes us into an entirely new field of amazement, the collective shift may well look a little jagged but trust all is moving for ALL to be SEEN as it’s only through the experience of SEEING or FEELING that we can move into the space of DEALING.
Sending much love to All

Imbolc, welcoming February
Imbolc is the first fire festival of the year, and is perfectly timed when we still feel the deep chills of winter but also the warmth of the sun is growing. Inherently, the eight sabbats of the Wiccan Wheel celebrate the sun which is traditionally a god symbol (in many cultures, however, symbolized by a goddess or even both). Yesterday’s recipe was a very simple celebration of goddess and the bounty of the earth. Today we celebrate the sun. Winter crops still in season link the ending cold, but the bright colors of this dish welcome in the warmth of spring. This recipe might also do well with substitutions for different lifestyles, but unlike yesterday’s potage I will not be making suggestions for vegan and vegetarian (sorry!). This recipe comes straight from a cookbook, so it is not of my own creation. I have added a few kitchen witchy thoughts.
Pork and Cranberry Stuffed Acorn Squash
2 small (or 1 large) acorn squash, halved and gutted 1 lb ground pork* 1/2 head riced cauliflower* 3/4 cup dried cranberries* 1/4 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
1 1/2 tbsp dried sage 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 black pepper
Preheat oven to 350F. Place squash flesh/cut side down in olive oil in a shallow roasting pan. Bake for about 45 minutes (depending on size of squash) until nice and tender.
In a skillet, brown the ground pork thoroughly (thanking the animal for its sacrifice as you do) then scoop out and set aside in a bowl. Keeping the skillet on the heat, now flavored with juices from the pork, pour in your cauliflower rice and sauté. Add olive oil as needed, and let cook covered for 10 minutes or until desired softness. Stir (deosil) until done.
Add the pork back to the skillet, mixing thoroughly with the cauliflower, and then stir in cranberries, pecans, sage, salt and pepper. With each addition, add your intent either aloud or simply think it. If your squash is not done, turn the skillet on the lowest setting (or off, if the squash is near enough done) and let sit and simmer.
When the squash has finished, take them from the oven and place them face-up now, like bowls, on the serving plates. Divvy out the stuffing in each squash bowl and top with extra pecans if desired, and serve warm.
*Pork is traditional during this time, but this recipe can be substituted with ground turkey. Ground chicken or lamb are also acceptable, but I do not recommend beef, only because the balance of flavors in this dish is precarious.
*For those of you who can eat rice, feel free to substitute 1/2 riced cauliflower with about 1 cup of cooked white or brown rice. If you have never tried riced cauliflower, however, I highly recommend it!
*Cranberries can also be substituted with raisins, but raisins tend to be sweeter than cranberries, so if you do not like sweet, use the cranberries.
***The symbolism in this dish is also lovely. The bright orange acorn squash is a winter crop still in season during this time, and very appropriate for a winter fire festival. The dark green outside reminds us of the earth and the orange inside is beautiful and invokes a very sun-like image. For Wiccans who are particularly interested in the duality of God/dess, imagine the Goddess giving birth the God, and the God emerging from the womb of the Goddess.
Cauliflower is also a cool-weather crop, harvested in late fall through spring and is often easy to obtain. The beautiful white florets remind us of the snow and winter season as it is incorporated into the rest of the dish.
Pork is generally a bountiful meat in winter months, because it is easy to preserve from the slaughter in late fall/early winter. Lambs, chickens, and turkeys have not yet begun being born in large enough quantities during this time. Of course, in our new advanced world of any food any time of year, they make decent substitutes if you do not eat pork.
Cranberries, too, are very symbolic of the previous season. Their bright red color and sharp flavor also invoke fire and sunlight, we see it peeking through the dreary brown of the meat and cauliflower. We eat the fresh cranberries at Yule (Christmas) and the abundance, the remainder that are not eaten, are dried and therefore still a wonderful fruit available at Imbolc.
Tomorrow is the day of actual Imbolc- and I will have two recipes for tomorrow’s celebration!
