Subby Nerd Natasha and professor R !!!!Where Nat is a HUGE teachers pet and she wants R's approval so badly she'll do anything to get praise out of R. She also get really shy whenever her professor is around but R notices it so R just might corrupt her >:) like having Nat eating her professor out underneath the desk or have Nat strapwarm while she tries to memorize her flashcards but fails so she gets edged.
Teacher’s Pet
Tumblr media
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x Professor!Reader
Word count: 1141
Warnings: age gap (Natasha is 20-21 and reader is in her late 30’s-40’s), smut, oral (R receiving), public sex (kinda), caught in the act, jealousy, very short smut tbh, apologies I feel like this one’s bad I’ll repay it soon
“I’m sorry Wanda, I just don’t think me and you meeting outside of class to discuss your grades is quite appropriate. I’m really sorry, honey, why don’t we talk about it over email?” The brunette’s eyes saddened as she nodded, apologizing for even suggesting the idea while you shook it off. Truthfully, she was cute. Her dark mascara and eyeliner framed her emerald eyes, and she was just around your height when you had high heels on. She had a beautiful body too, one that anyone would be more than willing to entertain. Her only flaw? She wasn’t Natasha Romanoff, your most dedicated student.
Natasha lingered behind Wanda with a scowl, glaring at her as she walked out with a glooming attitude before returning her attention to you. You waited for the door to close before sighing and meeting Natasha’s gaze, bringing her hands up to your lips to kiss.
“I’m sorry, sweetie. You know I wouldn’t entertain that.” She rested her head on your chest, her arms wrapping around your waist with a deep breath.
“I don’t want her near you, Professor. She’s been copying off of my work too, did you know that? And she’s been talking to one of the boys about skipping with him.” She reported instantly, her desire to get the woman in a great deal of consequences too large for her to hold back. You hummed, raising an eyebrow as your hand gently ran through her soft locks.
“Oh really? I didn’t realize she was such a bad girl, maybe I’ll have to have a talk with her.” Natasha nodded and pulled back for a moment to look up at you. You cupped her cheek, stroking the soft skin and offering a kind smile.
“My sweet pet, you’re always such a good girl for me.” You watched her skin redden as she shrugged, playing off the compliment as if she didn’t mind. In reality, she cared a lot more than she tried to show, and she was aching for your affection and approval.
“Thank you, Professor.” She shyly whispered, and you chuckled as you kissed her forehead.
“Wanda Maximoff could never come in comparison to you, baby girl.”
Natasha giggled to herself as her finger toyed with your clit, her lip being bit instinctively. She glanced up at you as your fingers weaved softly through her hair. She teasingly ran her tongue along the sensitive bud, making you suppress a moan as your head lolled back. Your thighs naturally spread wider to allow her more freedom, and took it gracefully.
“Mm, you like that? You like being a good little pet for me?” She nodded against you, her eyes fluttering shut while her hands squeezed your plush, supple skin. Suddenly you heard a knock on the door and your gaze quickly shifted upward, a shaky sigh quietly escaping your lips as one of your students slowly opened the door and inched her head in.
“Yes, Ms. Maximoff?” You bit your finger subtly, giving Wanda a small smile despite her classmate increasing her pace at the sound.
“How are you today, Professor? I hope well!” She started while placing a paper bag on your desk, and you could see the outlining of a muffin through the confinements.
“Wanda, I-“ You were cut off when you felt Natasha’s tongue protruding your hole as she gently circled your clit. “I don’t really believe it’s appropriate for you to bring me these things.” Your words were rushed out, and you could almost hear the sound of your hole clenching dramatically under the woman’s touch.
“It’s just a muffin, Professor. Maybe we can talk about my grades while you eat?” She took the seat opposite of your desk as you subtly rolled your eyes. She was sweet, she really was, but you couldn’t even stand to look at her when you had Natasha greedily eating you out without her knowledge.
“Look, I’m quite busy-“
“Please, Professor…I just want to talk to you. Is that not allowed?” Your fingers clenched the edge of the desk tighter, your legs closing in around the redhead's face yet still allowing her to breathe. She looked up at you with a deep, mischievous grin, and you had to bite back a remark as you quickly began typing your log in to the computer before Wanda’s grades suddenly appeared.
“You have a seventy-eight in my class, I can assure you, t-that’s fine.” Your chest rose quicker and quicker, your face heating a deep shade. Wanda giggled at the scene, naively believing it was because of her own doing and not realizing the girl she mocked on a regular basis was quietly whimpering at the taste of your juices and the smearing along her chin. Your clit was swollen, practically the same shade as your cheeks, and Natasha was pressing tiny peppers to the hard bud, watching it thrust towards her mindlessly.
Wanda arose from her seat, pushing in her chair slowly and taking sultry steps towards your side of the desk. Your eyes shot wide as your posture straightened.
“Wanda, I- I think you’re quite alright over there-“
“Oh, don’t be so lame. C’mon, you know what I want, and I can tell from that blush that you want it too.” She now stood next to you, tilting your chin to the side and smirking at your open lips, yet her brows furrowed when she watched your eyes drop and a deep moan elicited from your chest. You mumbled curses under your breath, lowering your head in shame. You couldn’t face the student after this, the embarrassment already felt too heavy, even in your deep state of arousal as Natasha hollowed her lips around your clit and eagerly licked you clean, glancing up at Wanda and watching as her eyes fell to meet hers. She giggled around you as she watched the realization dawn upon her, and the vibrations only caused another whine to quietly escape your lips.
“I’m sorry, Wanda, I don’t think Professor Y/L/N isn’t really all that interested!” She said after letting go of you with a loud pop, her face now poking out of the wooden desk you had tried hiding yourself under. The college student glanced between you and Natasha before bolting out of the room, her head hung low similarly to yours.
“Baby, you are fucking crazy, you know that?” It came out low and raspy as you helped her stand up, yet pulling her face down to kiss her and moaning softly at the taste of your juices upon her sweet lips.
“You’re mine, okay? I really hope that taught her a lesson.” She said with a tiny grin, almost too shy to reveal her victory.
“What? That you’re a teacher's pet?”
“That I’m your only teacher’s pet, and she’ll never get a piece of you, Professor.”

Welcome to Doffy's Physics Lab.
In this post, we'll calculate how big Doflamingo's hands are and how long his fingers are.
Let's dive right in!
Tumblr media
Okay, so the thing Oda did very very well is capture how long Doflamingo’s limbs are. He has a very strong chest, and his arms are as previously calculated 1.5m. What I say Oda captured well is actually (after some checking) that the proportions of Doflamingo’s body are not THAT bad compared to irl logic.
The man who has the largest hands in the world is Sultan Kosen (Turkey). His hands are 29 centimeters, but his height is 250 centimeters. Mr Kosen has gigantism and acromegaly, this is why he’s so tall and this is why his hands are bigger. Hands are usually 10% of the body height, so his hands should actually be 25 cm, but biology comes into play here, and after seeing some pictures, his hands look very normal for his size. They fit him. When I say how large the hand is, it means the length of the hand from the wrist to the middle finger.
So, this means, taller people’s hands most likely are not 10% of their height, but 11%. You may be wondering why I only heightened it for 1% percent. 1% proportion increase is about 4 cm increase on the real hand already. This fits for how big Mr Kosen’s hands are and follows bone structure that he has, which we can use to then calculate Doflamingo’s.
Also, body mass and body build goes into account. Even tall people have bigger hands than they should sometimes. Skinny people who are tall may have hands that aren’t 10% their body height, so the mass influences the proportion. The reason behind this is genetics and the aforementioned body structure. So, yes, it can depend! Not everyone has 10%! It doesn’t mean you are not healthy, it varies from person to person!
So, for tall people with a larger body mass, let’s put 10% for now; he is weighty but he is also lean in the arms and legs.
This is how we calculate:
10% proportion
Hand = height • proportion
hand = 305 • 0.10
hand = 30.5 cm
This is already huge. Absolutely huge. His hand is bigger than an average human’s head. His hands are 1.5 cm longer than an A4 paper. Yeah. Awesome! That’s awesome.
Sorry, geeking out and fangirling, please stand by.
Okay, we’re gonna do it with Oda’s proportions now. We’re gonna make it 11%.
The anime makes his hands so big. He a big boy.
This with 11% is the most accurate I like to believe.
0.11 • 305 = 33.55cm
We’ll call this next one the extreme but still possibly accurate version
With 12% body proportion (this is extreme of extremes I think this is too much, but fuck it, One Piece doesn’t follow rules so neither will I)
Hand= 305 • 0.12
Hand = 36.6 cm
These are all big.
Okay, now for the fingers. The anime keeps them good on proportions! Oda, as well! They look outta proportion to us midgets but they’re normal size for Doflamingo.
(rubs hands giddily) Hehe, I wanted to know this for AGES.
For this, we use the length of the hand and then anatomical proportions.
Middle finger is 35-40% of the total hand length
Index finger: 30-35%
Ring finger: 30-35%
Little finger: 30-35%
Thumb: 22-27%
Yeah, for normal people.
Not for One Piece, me thinks. I always imagine Doflamingo’s middle finger is half the length of his entire hand. Big boy has long fingers.
But fine, we’ll go with this first. And THEN we’ll have fun in the One Piece proportions.
Okay, so this is where we need to know the finger-length type classification of the hand. There are 4 types.
Tumblr media
Most artists, Oda included, draw the hands with the mountain type ie middle finger is the longest. If there are any artists who can confirm/deny so I can later fix it, that’d be great.
Based on this study with men, their index finger is longer than their ring finger, and only by a few mm. We’re gonna put everything in the middle. We’ll make his index finger 1 cm shorter from his middle finger. Ring and index finger are gonna be the same length to get that “mountain” curve.
Now we will go with his hand being 30.5 cm ie with 10% proportion.
Warning, I am breaking dreams with this one, and once again, I like to think his middle finger is 15 cm long! Is it too long? Maybe. Do I care? No. The fun thing about knowing rules is knowing how to break them.
Formula:
percentage • hand length = finger length
30.5cm hand
Middle finger = 0.40 • 30.5 = 12.2 cm
Index finger = 0.35 • 30.5 = 10.67 cm
Ring finger = 0.35 • 30.5= 10.67 cm
Little finger = 0.325 • 30.5 = 9.91 cm
Thumb = 0.27• 30.5 = 8.23 cm
To put his thumb into visual, 8 cm is the average length 180 cm tall men have of their middle finger.
Okay, now onto the official One Piece proportions the 11%. We just need to have his big hand size, he has HUGE hands. Okay.
33.55 cm hand (most likely to be Doflamingo’s hand size)
Middle finger = 0.40 • 33.55 = 13.42 cm
Index = 0.35 x 33.55 = 11.74 cm
Ring = 0.35 x 33.55 = 11.74 cm
Little = 0.325 x 33.55 = 10.90 cm
Thumb = 0.27 x 33.55 = 9.05 cm
Last Possible Version (Extreme Version)
36.6 cm hand
Middle finger= 0.40 • 36.6 = 14.65 cm
(chokes) Holy Mariejois and celestials. Okay. Okay.
Index finger = 0.35 • 36.6 = 12.81 cm
Ring finger = 0.35 • 36.6 = 12.81 cm
Little finger = 0.325 • 36.6 = 11.89 cm
Thumb = 0.27 • 36.6 = 9.88 cm
Woah, his thumb is huge 🤣🤣🤣 (I have a 30cm ruler sitting on the paper rn so yeah these are crazy numbers)
And there you go.
Okay, now width of fingers, we have no way of calculating it except to use known information.
For example, palm width of a hand of 19.3cm long is 8.9cm. let’s cut our losses and divide that to see how much smaller is the palm (this is cheating btw but it gets the job done). Usually your fingers are half the length of your palm. Sth like that. The palm is drawn mostly as a square or a curved parallelogram depending on the angle in which it’s drawn in. I am going with the easier option where all sides are equal.
We got 2.16
So we can say…
Average Palm width without adjusting for OP proportions
for 30.5 cm hand = 30.5/2.16 = 14.12 cm
Doflamingo’s Palm Width (adjusted for OP Proportions)
33.55 cm hand = 33.55/2.16= 15.50 cm
(I just realised I can just go minus his middle finger because that is how we got the length of his hand omg I am an idiot, no need for complex stuff)
33.55 cm - 13.42 cm = 15.13
(Okay, this is the better and easier way and makes good sense!)
(Whispers) Jesus fucking Christ
Extreme Palm Width
for 36.6 cm hand = 36.6/2.16 = 16.96 cm
Dear fucking GOD.
I really like the 30.5 cm from an accuracy standpoint but also, usually, hands are bigger than the average, and the taller you are, basing on your body type & genetics, that proportion can shift slightly.
So 33 cm isn’t a far reach at all for Doflamingo. He absolutely can wrap his single hand around a woman’s throat depending on the circumference of the woman’s throat. He cannot wrap them around a man’s neck fully to enclose it. He can, single-handedly with a 33 cm hand, absolutely completely envelop a woman’s neck.
There’s that. His finger thickness is probably 2-3cm.
And that's it!

I stumbled upon Fuegoleon slander today, so can I request comforting fluff with Fuelara, please?
We don't tolerate Fue slander in this house! So YES
I took my time, but this was very overly self-indulgent to write, and I just might make it be the most of a chapter of The Vows We Made once I get there. Anyways! I hope you enjoy! ^^
Pairing: Fuegoleon x Solara Fanfic type: Oneshot Genre: Fluff/romance Length: ~3.1k Contains: sleepy Fue, mentions of their twins, mentions of Salamander, maybe some possessive themes if you squint??? (The idea of "my family, I need to protect it", does that count??), just pure fluff, they're in love, and go to sleep There is a mention of "Ms. Rose", who is Briar Rose belonging to @/koneko-pi !
The long, quiet corridors of the castle that lead into an office, among a lot of things, which were lined by large windows that faced the courtyard. One could almost see the trees and the bushes, flowerbeds planted in there, but from this height, one would have needed to walk closer to the sheets of glass. And thus, it was only the faint light of the moon that could be seen coming from the outside. Just the sight of the dark blue autumn skies; the sunset had gone already.
Even the servants had gone home, or the bed, for the most parts already. Only the guards outside of the castle walls were awake to keep an eye; even though keeping an eye open was difficult both outside and inside of the castle walls.
Solara could swear that he steps must’ve wobbled ever so slightly as she made her way down the halls, lit by the light of the moon that cast shadows at her feet. The shadows she barely saw as she struggled to keep her eyes open from the state of fatigue she was feeling. The weight of it that she felt had increased exponentially over the last few years.
It’s only age, she told herself, though she was barely past 30, not yet closing in on 40, even if that decade in her life loomed somewhere in the horizon. Not that the number bothered her. It was more so just that she could feel herself getting tired more easily.
She couldn’t keep up with the kids, who wanted to stay up all night long. Or so they said, and still dozed off at 9 the latest. Which was good. They needed their rest.
It was only that the twins had been restless during the last couple of days. The last of the baby teeth would be coming out, which was the cause of the poorly slept nights lately. This night included.
But now they were finally asleep; in their rooms, safely tucked in with Salamander by their side. Or, Sal’s basket by them to be more precise.
The Great Spirit of Fire had assumed a smaller form while living in the castle, and preferred to sleep in his small little wicker basket nestled in a blanket. But the basket needed to be in the common room that joined the bedroom of the twins, so that it could be equally close to both of them.
Solara had reasoned to herself that it was partially a wish of Sal, and partially Fue’s wish amplified in the dragonic spirit. The wish to keep safe. To protect. Make sure that his family was being looked after. The sentiment of ‘my family’.
And it would allow Fue to stay up to date via Salamander, though their communication was what it was. Limited to kinds of hunches. Feelings. That was still the idea how Solara understood it. That it was a non-verbal connection, which didn’t allow for that complicated discussion as with some other spirits might. It was just the nature of Salamander. He was a non-verbal creature, and his methods of communication were limited.
But she didn’t mind. She didn’t think any of them minded. It was just how it was.
A way in which father could be with the family, while working; he could keep an eye on the kids, while having to perform his duty. Even if from behind a desk. And there was no reason to lock the kids, or the family, into a sitting room next to his office.
No... life was out there. It was in the blades of grass, in sunshine, the glimmering of stars, in the frost bites and sweet drinks and the smile of those you hold dear. Life was never meant to be confined within the walls of an office decorate with motifs of grandeur.
The things he says... she mused to herself with a slight shake of her head. And still he very much confines himself into that office... her eyes fell in a slow blink, as her gaze and attention were directed somewhere far, far away, but her steps knew the way nonetheless. It was inscribed into her bones by now; she didn’t need to think about it. All for the sake of the people, he says... she smiled to herself, even if the smile bore a veil of melancholy over it. While trying to make it into every little event, to be there during bed time, read to Leon and Cyra, even though he’ll need to go back to complete something more... always something more...
Her chin lifted as she thought about it. All those moments when he had emerged from the office, with eyes that seemed to bear the weight of the world. But as the kids would go running to him, the weight would subside, he’d pick them up, and tell them how much he missed them.
He doesn’t-, I know that he wouldn’t need to come to us while he’s still working. To take a break to do that. And most wouldn’t. They’d just... complete whatever is on their desk and come home when it’s time for it. And I know... I know that he tries *so hard*. To be everywhere. To come home for a while, chat to the kids, maybe play with them for a while during the busy work days, and then it’s “off to bed, I’ll read a story to you”, she smiled at the thought. The precious moments during the hardest days.
Because during the good days, those that he had off, as much as he can have them off, he’d spend more time with Cyra and Leon. Give them as much attention as he could. Be as good of a father as he could.
But... she couldn’t claim that it wouldn’t be hard for the two of them. Because between work and the kids, there was very little time for the two of them. Which... it just made things a bit difficult. Not that they could claim there to be a real problem, but sometimes they would have liked to just spend time with each other. Cuddle and kiss and... perform spousal activities... maybe sleep a little longer... all the things for which there didn’t seem to be time or energy.
All the things... well... maybe after some time... The first 2 years are the most difficult, or so they say. And then it’ll ease up on sleep at least.
She sighed to herself as she reached the door. The large wooden door which was decorated with some carvings and a golden handle. To signify that it wasn’t just any door. Or at least that it wasn’t a cleaning closet out of all the things. Not that she could imagine anyone mistaking it for one in the first place. Not in this part of the castle.
Her hand landed onto the cold metal surface, without a knock. After all these years, there was no knock.
She wasn’t sure how many times he had had to tell her that she was among the few people, who wouldn’t need to knock when it came to him. That she’d always be welcomed, no matter what.
And how many times had it taken that she hadn’t believed? That she had still knocked. Maybe not waited for a reply, but had still knocked.
During day time she still would.
A silly little thing. She deemed it with a smile.
Just a small thing that amused her. Perhaps amused him too. A kind of a game for them to play. As foolish as it might have sounded. Him having to tell her with a smirk that the door was open, and how it’d always be open for her. And how she’d argue back with a grin of her own, telling him that she couldn’t know what he was in the middle of. That it was courteous. A little game of cat and mouse. Or maybe just two cats play fighting.
Perhaps the latter would be more fitting.
Perhaps that was why when she opened the door, there was no sound. Quiet as a cat.
But when her eyes were granted an image of the room from behind the wooden surface of the door, she stopped.
Just stood there with her hand on the door handle, and looked at her husband. Sleeping over the desk. A single candle lighting the room on his desk.
His mana hand wasn’t manifested, but his left arm was under his head. His chest was rising and falling, and there was the sound of steady, heavy breathing flowing through the air. It wasn’t quite a snore, nor did it sound forced. Just a very... intent way of breathing. Maybe due to the position he was in.
A hum broke through the steady sound. It vibrated through the air, speaking of how it must’ve risen from his throat, as a faint frown appeared on his brows.
But it disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared.
A small smile tugged up the corners of Solara’s lips as she looked at him. Poor thing... he must be exhausted...
She took a few steps forward, closer to the table, with feather light steps, careful not to wake him.
Bed would be more comfortable... and if he stays in that position he’ll have a sore neck tomorrow. He’s bound to, even though his exercise routine keeps him in good shape and his muscles open. For the most part at least, she chuckled under her breath. But... since he is tired enough to have fallen asleep there, maybe I shouldn’t wake him up... at least for a while... Let him rest for some time and then... then wake him...
Her eyes turned to the door of the sitting room that was next to the office. There’d be a closet where there were blankets and a few extra pillows. Which might have been unconventional for a sitting room, but... they had deemed it better to have them, in case of such situations. An afternoon nap.
Perhaps there lied a danger too. Because since they had blankets and pillows close by, a nap would be more tempting.
A terrible danger, really.
Another amusing thought.
She looked at her husband, still sleeping over the desk with a neutral expression.
Stay there, she thought, joked to herself, before making her way to the sitting room and to the closet from where she found a blanket. A part of her was thankful that they oiled all the hinges of the doors so well, and made sure that no floorboards were creaking.
Yes, of course, it made sense to make sure that it all was in the best condition, but... sometimes such little things could me missed. Especially if you’re only moving around during daytime, when small sounds such as those didn’t seem quite so apparent. While during night time, they were as if amplified. Which was why she was mindful to close the closet, and the door, as silently as possible, before tip-toeing to him.
Don’t nap for too long, she thought while opening the blanket in her hands. You’ll get a sore neck if you do...
She placed the blanket over him, around his shoulders with as little movement as possible, and leaned over him.
But as soon as she did, his eyes begun cracking open and a groggy hum left him.
“Mm... What time is it?” He asked, while trying to gather his senses. His tone was quiet, nearly distant, like he was trying to grab onto reality while still being partially asleep.
“Almost two..” she whispered back before leaning closer and pressing a tender kiss onto his temple. One that was warm and comforting; that held a promise of a soft, warm bed where he might rest with a smile on his face. And the knowledge that he wasn’t alone in the world. That he had someone with whom he could share his smiles and his sorrows just the same.
“Mmm...” he hummed again before taking a deep breath and leaning back in his seat. “Maybe I should call it a night...”
“Maybe,” she half teased, half smiled before placing another kiss on top of his head.
“Did the kids fall asleep?” He asked as he pushed back his chair and stood up, making a dragging sound, wood scraping against would, break through the otherwise silent room.
“After a while,” she replied with a hushed tone, almost as if she was still trying to be careful not to wake him. “I have the monitor with me, just in case too.”
“The monitor?” He frowned while looking at her. “Oh yes, yes,” he continued before pinching the bridge of his nose. “The device Ms. Rose of the Research Department gave us...”
“Yes,” she gave a small nod, during which her eyelids fell in a slow blink. “She is a good friend.”
He hummed in agreement while pushing his chair under the desk.
His expression was neutral, as if there were no thoughts running through it. Which was probably true from his state of fatigue.
“Ready for bed?” She suggested, half asked, while reaching for his hand.
“Yes,” he uttered, while taking her hand into his, and giving it a squeeze. “I’ll take a quick shower first.”
She gave him a nod, while taking a step back to lead him towards the door.
“I’ll keep the bed warm meanwhile,” she assured him while squeezing his hand.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he smiled to himself as his steps followed hers, easy and natural, like the flow of a river.
Like this was the only course he should take. As if this, squeezing her hand and following her to rest, was just like drawing breath.
As if the way back to their room was no journey at all, despite the winding, twisting and turning corridors of the castle where one could get lost in. Plenty of people did. And even him, admittedly, sometimes needed to think what might be the quickest route from one place to another. Still, after all these years of living there, he still needed to think from time to time.
But these steps, over which the silvery moonlight cascaded; the way it reflected from her hair, and embraced her form, as if she was some divine being brought to him in sleep rather than a mortal just like him... It felt like no time passed, as he followed her.
Time didn’t exist.
It was just the two of them.
It was just him, trusting that she’d lead him to the sanctity of their bedroom, where it was soft, warm and safe.
As if he wouldn’t have known the way.
But perhaps he would have stumbled in his drowsy state.
Perhaps, perhaps not. None could tell. For it was left in the sea of possibilities.
The sea that wasn’t important; that lost all meaning as they reached their room, as if in a dream.
The door was closed behind them, and he stopped, but didn’t let go of her hand as she tried to continue further into the room. But the stop created a tug, and the tug made her turn around with raised brows and hum out a question. A simple: “Hm?”
It was only then that he took a step closer, as if to step into her embrace, and pressed a kiss onto her forehead.
“Go to sleep, my love,” he whispered against her skin, letting the words glide over her like a river of warmth and tender affection. Like something so soft and gentle he couldn’t name, even if given a millenium to describe it. “I’ll be there in ten minutes,” he promised.
He always promised, and he always kept that promise.
“I can’t promise to stay awake for ten minutes,” she partly teased, partly joked, but mostly she told the truth.
“I’m not expecting it,” he hummed with an amused smile while pressing his head against hers. “You should sleep, if you’re tired,” he told her. “I’ll find my way to you.”
She smiled to him with closed eyes, not making a move to make her way to the bed.
“I always will,” he promised again. Yet another promised he intended to keep. Another promise he had always intended to keep. One that felt like it was a promise that he had made so many times before that he couldn’t count.
But would he need to? Count them? He didn’t deem it necessary.
“Go on, my love, I’ll be there soon,” he nudged her head with his, before slipping into the bathroom. And she slipped into bed in the meantime.
The covers were soft. A bit cold, but they’d warm soon enough.
She rolled onto her side, towards his pillow, and resisted the urge to pull the pillow closer so that she might bury her nose into it and breathe in his scent. Just like she resisted the urge to shift onto his side of the bed. Just like she resisted the urge to gather his side of the covers into her arms, so that she might feel him close to herself again.
All the things she resisted. And yet she could feel her consciousness slipping away.
Little by little, she was drifting into a sea of dreams.
But then again, she hadn’t promised to wait for him to get to bed. She trusted that he’d some soon.
Within ten minutes.
Even if those minutes felt like an eternity.
Or maybe one fifth of it.
A fraction.
The bed shifted next to her.
She tried to open her eyes, but her eyelids felt heavy. Too heavy to open fully, but still her hand reached closer.
There was another kiss on her temple.
“Thank you for warming up the bed,” he whispered. But she could hear him loud and clear; his voice vibrated to her through her heartstrings, or perhaps the golden threads of fate that had spun into ropes. “I loved you,” he whispered again.
She smiled, must’ve smiled. Her hand took a hold if his. Fingers intwined together with his into a secure hold.
“[I love you],” he professed again, sounding a little more drowsy than a moment before.
“[And I love you,]” she replied with a hushed tone. “With all the days I have left,” she continued, not sure if he was still on the brink of the twilight zone, or already within a dream. “And even beyond it...”
She wasn’t sure if he’d hear, but she was sure that he knew. He knew, but still she needed to tell.
She’d always need to tell him. To remind him.
That she loved him too.
She’d always need to tell...
And through the darkness, her drowsy state, she could feel him squeeze her hand back.

Ethereon (Redesign)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So this Post deserves a bit of context. I redesigned my Ghost-Type Eeveelution, Ethereon. But why? Well despite what it looks like from my post history, Ethereon was actually the first Eeveelution I ever drew myself as well as the first full on Fakemon I ever designed. (Only Hisuian Raichu came earlier, but that one is a regional Variant)
And since it was the first, I wasn’t yet that good. The result was that I took some shortcuts while drawing and also messed up the proportions completely. And that always bothered me, I improved a lot since then but one of my favorite designs was also arguably my worst. And so I redid it, I choose a more dynamic pose so that all four legs are clearly visible unlike before, I had it face the viewer and increased it’s head size as to better match the other Eevees. And I’m really pleased with the results. I think this design is worthy of being called my favorite and I can also see how much I improved since the first design.
Now I will say, this is not likely to happen often. I am first and foremost an author and not an Illustrator. I draw to supplement my stories and so as long as I feel the design is not completely outdated I’ll not redraw it, even if I got that much better. Still I hope you enjoyed this new version and didn’t mind my rant. Here is the rest of the Lore copied over from the old post. (You can still find that here by the way.)

Some Fat Burning Tips
First, I am not a fitness expert (I only play one on TV). Just kidding...unless you know of a role that's open then I will surely audition! You all know that I like to joke around. I can really only speak to things that have worked for me personally, so that is how I will approach the topic at hand...fat burning. I also enjoy writing so I am hoping to merge my love of writing and my passion for fitness into these occasional blog posts. While I am not an expert, I am going through my personal trainer and nutritionist certification, so I at least have a textbook to look at!
Like I said, I can only speak to things that have worked for me, personally and over the last 9 months I was able to cut my body fat percentage from about 25% to 11.5%. That required regular exercise but also being very intentional with my diet. So here's what I did in a nutshell and if you have questions let me know.
Try to get 10,000 steps per day. I work at my desk most the day so I have to make sure I get up and walk or park way out in the parking lot to force myself to walk or just simply go with my wife or kids and dogs for a walk in the evening. Also, one way I increased my steps was actually at the gym. Instead of staring at my phone between sets, I try to walk around in circles. Walking is one of the most effective things you can do to burn fat, hands down.
Eat my final meal and/or snack of the day by 7pm and eat or drink NOTHING after that....no cereal, no hot weenies, no leftover chicken wings...nothing.
Don't eat anything until about 10:30am the next morning. There is science behind it, which I am not citing btw, but for men, our bodies produce testosterone and burn fat best and sometimes only in a state of starvation. This occurs most effectively while we sleep so going to sleep hungry is not a bad thing if you want to burn fat and keep your T levels up (with all the benefits that brings to the table-wink, wink).
Yes, don't eat anything until 10:30am but start the morning with a large glass of hot water (not scalding, just tapwater hot) with a pinch of sea salt and a few squirts of lemon juice. Man, you can feel it run through your veins, wake you up , and get you going. After the water and before eating breakfast (at 10:30am) you can drink black coffee (black means no cream and sugar...be a man). Awe, don't cry I'm just Joshing you Starbucks fanboys, but seriously...black coffee only. The sugar will mess up that T building/fat burning state you got going on.
Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep, distraction free. This can be hard especially if you have to piss a lot (like me). We will save the prostate discussion for another post. But do the best you can on this because, again, this is when you are making testosterone and burning fat. We all like it when have to pole vault out of the bed in the morning and this is when your body is making all the stuff needed for that to happen.
You see I like to write as much as I like to talk so this could go on for a while, but the biggest thing really is diet. You gotta be eating healthy. Track your macros. If you don't know what those should be then reach out to me and let's figure it out. It's different for every guy based on height, age, weight, and activity level but once you know what those goals are...be intentional about staying within your target goals.
So that's enough for now. Like I said, ask any questions you have. Let's work together to get and stay fit as we get older so we don't feel like we're over 40!
Cheers...Billy
Oh P.S. I forgot to include but NO MORE CHIPS, FRENCH FRIES, or SODAS! I'll talk more about this later, but for now CUT THEM OUT!

A life-changing path to increased height and confidence
Tumblr media
Height can be a major factor in determining one's self-esteem and confidence. Many people want to increase their height for various reasons. These can be personal, professional, or social. limb-lengthening surgery is a revolutionary medical procedure. India, with its skilled specialists and comprehensive rehabilitation services, has become the global hub of this advanced procedure.
What is Limb lengthening surgery?
A specialized orthopedic surgery, limb lengthening is designed to increase the height of a person by gradually extending their legs' bones. The procedure is usually done by a technique called distracting osteogenesis. This involves breaking the bone surgically and slowly separating it with a mechanical device.
Three stages are involved in the process.
Osteotomy- A bone is cut (usually the femur, or tibia).
Distraction phase: A fixator or internal nails slowly pulls apart the two segments of bone, usually at a rate of 1 mm per day.
Phase of consolidation- The new bone hardens to fill the gap.
This method allows for a safe and gradual height gain ranging between 5 and 8 cm in average and, in some cases, up to even more depending on the individual goals and physical ability.
Why choose India for Limb Extension Surgery?
India is quickly becoming a favorite destination for medical tourism who are seeking limb-lengthening surgery.
Highly Skilled Surgeons : Indian surgeons have a global reputation for their expertise with bone deformity corrections and lengthening techniques.
Cost Effective Treatments Compared to countries such as the USA, Germany or South Korea the cost of surgery is significantly lower in India without compromising on quality.
Comprehensive Rehabilitation - Trusted centers offer recovery and post-operative physiotherapy in India.
International-Standard Facilities: Accredited hospitals and clinics are equipped with cutting-edge technology and English-speaking staff to serve global patients comfortably.

The psychological preparation is important as well, since the procedure requires mental strength and patience.
The Benefits of Limb Lengthening Surgery
Permanent Height Gain: The height gain is permanent once the new bone has solidified.
Improved Posture & Proportions : Many patients report improvements in gait and body alignment.
Confidence Boosted: Increased self-esteem for personal, academic and professional life.
Corrects Leg Discrepancies is used to correct leg length differences that are congenital, or those caused by injury.
Recovery and Rehabilitation Process
The recovery period after limb-lengthening surgery can range from 6 months to 12 month depending on how much length you gained. Patients are advised:
Maintain joint mobility and muscle power by engaging in daily physical therapy.
Eat a healthy diet that is rich in calcium, and proteins.
Follow-up X-rays, bone growth assessment and other tests regularly.
After the consolidation phase, gradually return to walking with no aids.
Many Indian clinics offer in house physiotherapy units as well as personalized care plans to help international patients recover quickly.
Costs of Limb Lengthening In India
In India, the cost of limb-lengthening surgery can range from 10 to 20 lakhs, or approximately 12,000 to 25,000 USD, depending on the procedure, hospital stay and aftercare. India is a great value compared to Europe or the US, where similar procedures may cost USD 75,000.

Fastest Growing Trees for NJ Landscapes
Tumblr media
Beautiful and majestic trees take time to grow and mature but not if you know the right kind of specimen for your space. If you have been looking at your landscape this spring and wishing you had mature trees for shade, privacy or added beauty, then check out our list of the top five fastest growing trees for your New Jersey landscape.  It will help you decide how to increase your property’s value, attractiveness and efficacy.
Eucalyptus Tree
Grows and average of 3-6 feet a year with a mature height of about 40 feet and width of 15 feet.
This tree is drought tolerant and keeps its leaves throughout winter which means no leaves to rake and some color for your winter landscape.
Eucalyptus Trees repels mosquitoes, fleas and ticks.
This tree enjoys full sun and will provide a better canopy if it is in the sun for most of the day.
It is best to plant this tree away from other plants in your yard because of its shallow roots that will take water and other nutrients from its neighboring plant life.
Weeping Willow
Tumblr media
One of the most popular shade trees because of its sweeping branches and long slender leaves that create cooler temperatures under the tree to enjoy and relax.
Weeping Willow trees are thought of as the earliest detectors of spring as they typically begin to show yellow and green blooms as early as February.
When fully grown a Weeping Willow tree will be about 30 to 40 feet tall with a width of 30 feet.
This tree will grow about 24 inches a year which will provide a considerable amount of shade and beauty to your property almost immediately.
Weeping Willow trees are perfect for wet areas in a yard or near ponds and lakes.
Eastern White Pine
Tumblr media
Will reach a mature height of 50 to 80 feet tall with a growing rate of over 24 inches per year.
This tree is tolerant of all soil types and can grow in acidic, moist, wet and rocky soils but it need full sunlight for at least 4 hours a day to reach its full potential.
Eastern White Pines have long blue-green needles and produce brown cones with smooth scales that will attract various species of wildlife to your landscape.
This tree transplants well and can be used on your landscape as a windbreak which aides in cutting down on heating/cooling cost inside of your home.
Eastern White Pines can be sensitive to air pollution and compacted soil so planting this tree away from the road and checking your landscape for erosion can minimize these issues.
Leyland Cypress
Tumblr media
These trees transplants well and are often used to create privacy from neighboring yards because it grows quickly and will form a type of green wall when planted near each other.
Leyland Cypress trees grow up to 120 feet high and 15 feet wide but they can be pruned and trimmed into a variety of pleasing shapes to keep with the ascetic of your lawn.
This tree will grow about 24 inches a year and can be transplanted into your landscape with ease even a more mature age than other trees on this list.
Leyland Cypress trees will grow best in full sun and also become fuller and taller at a faster rate in these conditions.
Tulip Poplar Tree
This tree is considered both an ornamental and shade tree because of its fullness and beauty.
Tulip trees will grow to a height of about 70 to 90 feet with a growing rate of about 24 inches per year.
This type of tree need sun for about six hours a day but is tolerant to drought conditions.
Although you won’t see the tree’s tulip shaped leaves the first few years of its bloom, the wait will be worth it as it blooms into a true eye-catcher in the spring and summer months.
October Glory Maple
Tumblr media

Sure! Here's a human-like, engaging blog post about a Stability Ball, with detailed descriptions of all the “active substances” (which I’m interpreting as key benefits or features since a stability ball isn’t a consumable product) and designed to persuade readers to make a purchase. Total character count is approximately 2400.
Boost Your Fitness Game with a Stability Ball – Your Ultimate Home Workout Partner
In the ever-growing world of home workouts, one simple tool stands out for its versatility, effectiveness, and affordability – the Stability Ball. Whether you're just beginning your fitness journey or looking to upgrade your core routine, this powerhouse piece of equipment is a must-have. But what exactly makes it so special?
Let’s break down the “active substances” of the Stability Ball – the core features and benefits that make this a smart investment for your body and your lifestyle.
1. Core Activation – Dosage: 15–20 mins a day
The Stability Ball’s greatest strength? Core engagement. When you perform exercises on an unstable surface, your body is forced to activate deep abdominal muscles to maintain balance. Even sitting on a ball instead of a chair can improve posture and fire up your core.
Daily Dose Tip: Try crunches, planks, or just sitting on the ball at your desk for 15–20 minutes daily to start seeing and feeling improvements in stability and posture.
2. Improved Posture – Dosage: 30 mins sitting daily
Slouching while working or watching TV? The Stability Ball helps train your spine to align properly. It gently encourages your back muscles to work without strain. Regular use can correct posture and reduce lower back pain over time.
Recommended Usage: Replace your desk chair with a Stability Ball for 30 minutes per day and gradually increase as your muscles adapt.
3. Enhanced Flexibility – Dosage: 10 mins before or after workouts
Stretching on a flat floor has nothing on the dynamic stretch a Stability Ball can provide. It supports the body’s curves and allows you to deepen stretches safely, especially for the spine, hips, and chest.
Suggested Use: Incorporate 10 minutes of Stability Ball stretching into your warm-up or cool-down routine to increase flexibility and reduce risk of injury.
4. Full-Body Workouts – Dosage: 3–4 sessions/week, 30–40 mins
From squats and bridges to push-ups and back extensions, a Stability Ball transforms basic movements into challenging, full-body exercises. It adds instability to your training, engaging stabilizer muscles and building functional strength.
How to Use: Combine Stability Ball exercises with light weights or bodyweight circuits 3–4 times a week for a balanced, sculpted physique.
5. Balance and Coordination – Dosage: 10 mins daily
Whether you’re an athlete or just want to move more confidently, balance is key. The Stability Ball is a game-changer for improving coordination. Simple activities like standing on one leg while rolling the ball or doing stability lunges build neuromuscular control.
Balance Routine: Spend 10 minutes daily on balance drills to enhance agility and prevent falls or injury.
Why You Need One Today
The Stability Ball is more than just a fitness accessory – it’s a portable, affordable, and dynamic tool that upgrades your health, posture, strength, and mobility. No matter your age or fitness level, the benefits are real and immediate.
Choose a high-quality Stability Ball that fits your height (typically 55cm for users under 5’5”, 65cm for 5’6”–6’0”, and 75cm for taller individuals). Look for anti-burst technology and non-slip materials for safe, worry-free workouts.
Final Thoughts
If you're looking for a single investment that supports strength, balance, flexibility, and posture, the Stability Ball is your answer. Compact enough for any room and versatile enough to replace multiple machines, it’s truly a one-stop shop for total-body wellness.
✨ Ready to level up your fitness? Grab your Stability Ball today and feel the transformation start from your very first session. ✨
Let me know if you want this tailored to a specific brand, include SEO keywords, or if you'd like a version formatted for Instagram or product pages!

How a Weight Gain Calculator Can Help You Reach Your Fitness Goals
Tumblr media
When it comes to fitness goals, weight gain is often overlooked in favor of weight loss. However, for many people—whether athletes, individuals with high metabolism, or those recovering from health issues—gaining weight is a vital part of their wellness journey. But gaining weight the right way requires more than just eating extra calories. It needs a structured, informed approach to ensure that what you’re gaining is primarily lean muscle, not excess fat.
This is where a weight gain calculator comes in. It provides tailored recommendations that match your body type, activity level, and specific goals, helping you gain weight safely and effectively. Rather than relying on trial and error, you can use this tool to take a data-driven path toward your desired physique. With consistent effort and proper monitoring, a weight gain calculator can be the guiding light in transforming your body and reaching long-term fitness success.
What Is a Weight Gain Calculator?
A weight gain calculator is a digital tool designed to estimate how many calories you need to consume daily in order to gain weight. Unlike basic calorie counters, this calculator takes into account multiple factors such as:
Age
Gender
Height
Current weight
Activity level
Desired weight gain goal
Time frame to reach your goal
With these inputs, it calculates your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) and then adds a surplus of calories based on how fast you want to gain weight—slow, moderate, or aggressive.
Why Is Weight Gain Planning Important?
Gaining weight may seem as simple as eating more, but if not done strategically, it can lead to unhealthy fat gain instead of lean muscle. Without a structured plan, you risk making mistakes that can slow your progress or even negatively impact your health. Proper planning helps you stay on track and avoid these common pitfalls:
Eating too many unhealthy foods (junk calories): It’s tempting to load up on fast food, sugary snacks, and processed meals to boost calorie intake quickly. However, these “junk calories” are often low in nutrients and high in unhealthy fats and sugars, which can lead to fat gain, poor digestion, and low energy levels.
Gaining fat instead of muscle: When you consume calories without the right balance of macronutrients or a resistance training routine, your body may store excess calories as fat rather than building muscle. Strategic planning ensures your body uses those calories to fuel muscle growth instead.
Failing to meet your macronutrient needs: Your body needs a specific mix of proteins, carbohydrates, and healthy fats to function optimally and support muscle development. Without hitting those targets, you may struggle with poor recovery, lack of energy, or slower gains.
Not tracking progress properly: Without monitoring your weight, calorie intake, and physical changes, it's hard to tell whether your plan is working. You could be gaining the wrong kind of weight or not gaining at all—and not even realize it.
With a weight gain calculator, your plan becomes data-driven rather than guesswork. It helps you calculate exactly how many calories and which nutrients you need each day based on your unique goals and body type. This structure gives you clarity, helps you avoid costly mistakes, and increases your chances of gaining weight in a healthy, controlled, and effective way.
Key Benefits of Using a Weight Gain Calculator
1. Personalized Calorie Recommendations
Everyone’s body is different. A weight gain calculator provides personalized caloric needs tailored to your unique profile. For example, a 25-year-old male athlete needs a significantly different intake than a 40-year-old female with a desk job. This level of customization ensures your plan is effective from day one.
2. Controlled Weight Gain
By setting a realistic time frame and choosing a slow or moderate pace, you can gain weight steadily and healthily. This reduces the risk of gaining fat instead of lean mass and ensures your digestive system and metabolism adjust gradually.
3. Progress Monitoring
A good weight gain calculator often pairs well with fitness tracking apps or spreadsheets that monitor progress over time. By regularly updating your weight and activity level, you can see what’s working and make adjustments as needed.
4. Macronutrient Breakdown
Advanced calculators do more than count calories—they also offer a macronutrient split, giving you targets for protein, fats, and carbs. This is essential for muscle growth, recovery, and maintaining energy levels throughout the day.
5. Increased Motivation and Accountability
Seeing exact numbers gives a sense of direction. You’re no longer guessing or hoping; you’re following a well-defined plan. This boosts motivation and helps you stay committed to your goals.
How to Use a Weight Gain Calculator Effectively
Step 1: Gather Your Baseline Information
Before using the calculator, you’ll need to know:
Your current weight and height
Your age and gender
Your activity level (sedentary, lightly active, moderately active, very active)
Your goal weight
The time frame in which you hope to achieve this goal
Step 2: Choose Your Rate of Weight Gain
Weight gain can be categorized into three types:
Slow (0.25–0.5 lbs/week) – Ideal for lean muscle gain
Moderate (0.5–1 lb/week) – Balanced approach for most people
Aggressive (1–2 lbs/week) – Suitable for underweight individuals needing fast recovery
Most calculators allow you to choose this pace, which helps determine your daily calorie surplus.
Step 3: Follow Your Daily Calorie and Macro Goals
Once you have your daily calorie and macro breakdown, you can use food-tracking apps like MyFitnessPal or Cronometer to log your meals and stay aligned with your targets.
Make sure your diet consists of nutrient-rich foods, such as:
Proteins: Chicken, fish, eggs, legumes, protein shakes
Carbs: Brown rice, oats, sweet potatoes, fruits
Healthy fats: Avocados, nuts, olive oil
Step 4: Adjust as You Progress
Your body changes as you gain weight. It’s important to re-calculate your caloric needs every 2–4 weeks to ensure you're still in a surplus.
If you find you’re gaining too quickly or too slowly, you can tweak your intake accordingly.
Final Thoughts
A weight gain calculator is more than just a number-crunching tool—it’s your partner in building a healthier, stronger body. With personalized insights, nutritional guidance, and goal-based planning, it turns a challenging journey into an achievable mission. Whether you’re gaining weight to improve athletic performance, recover from illness, or reach a personal fitness milestone, this calculator offers the clarity and structure needed for success. Instead of navigating the process blindly, you can move forward with confidence, knowing that each meal and workout is taking you a step closer to your ideal weight. Use this tool consistently, stay mindful of your nutrition, and embrace your transformation one healthy step at a time.

Understanding Girls' Weight Chart: A Guide for Parents
Understanding Girls' Weight Chart: A Guide for Parents
As a parent, monitoring your child's growth and ensuring they maintain a healthy weight is crucial for their overall well-being. One valuable tool that can assist in this process is a girls' weight chart. This article will delve into the importance of such charts, how to interpret them, and provide practical advice on helping your daughter maintain a healthy weight.
The Importance of a Girls' Weight Chart
A girls' weight chart serves as a visual representation of the average weight gain and specific weight increase for girls aged 5 to 15 years. It is an excellent resource for tracking your girl's growth throughout their teenage years. It's important to note that every individual has a unique body structure, and two girls of the same age can have different heights and weights yet still be healthy. However, maintaining a healthy weight can be challenging as girls tend to gain weight more quickly than boys.
Parents often worry about whether their child is overweight or underweight and seek accurate information to ensure their daughter's health. A weight chart can provide reassurance and help identify if your child is within a healthy weight range. Doctors commonly use Body Mass Index (BMI) to determine if a patient is overweight and to establish ideal weight ranges.
Interpreting the Girls' Weight Chart
The standard weight for girls according to age is as follows:
5 years: 3.2-4.1 kg
6 years: 4.2-5 kg
7 years: 5.2-6.3 kg
8 years: 6.3-7.6 kg
9 years: 7.6-9.1 kg
10 years: 9.0-10.8 kg
11 years: 10.8-12.5 kg
12 years: 12.4-14.3 kg
13 years: 14.3-16.5 kg
14 years: 16.5-18.5 kg
15 years: 52.16 kg
16 years: 53.9 kg
Tumblr media
It's essential to understand that growth patterns change as children age, and the rate of increase accelerates significantly around age 14. The weight chart can help you determine if your daughter is within a normal weight range or if she may be overweight.
Using BMI to Determine Ideal Weight
BMI is a widely used method to assess if a person is within a healthy weight range. It is calculated using the formula:
BMI = weight (kg) / height (m)²
The BMI categories are as follows:
Below 18.5: Underweight
18.5-24.9: Normal weight
25-29.9: Overweight
30-34.9: Class I obesity
35-39.9: Class II obesity
40 and above: Class III obesity
While BMI is a useful tool, it does have limitations. For instance, it may overestimate body fat in very muscular individuals and underestimate it in older individuals who have lost muscle mass due to aging.
Helping Teenage Girls Maintain a Healthy Weight
Given the challenges of maintaining a healthy weight during adolescence, parents play a crucial role in guiding their daughters. Here are some practical steps you can take:
Healthy Eating Habits
Encourage your daughter to consume a balanced diet rich in vegetables, whole-grain products, and fruits. Include non-fat or low-fat milk and dairy products such as yogurt and cheese. Lean meats, beans, fish, and poultry are excellent sources of protein. Ensure she stays hydrated by drinking plenty of water and limit sugary products and saturated fats.
Reducing Calorie-Rich Temptations
Minimize or eliminate sugary and high-fat or salty products to develop healthy eating habits. Offer healthier alternatives such as bell peppers with hummus, broccoli, carrots, bananas, apples, grapes, blueberries, tuna, or oven-baked kale chips.
Keeping Active
Girls need to stay active as they tend to gain weight more quickly than boys. Physical activity strengthens bones, reduces blood pressure, alleviates anxiety and stress, boosts self-esteem, and helps maintain weight. Encourage your daughter to engage in regular exercise and limit sedentary time spent on gadgets like mobile phones, video games, or TV.
Ensuring Adequate Sleep
Insufficient sleep can contribute to obesity as it leads to reduced activity levels and increased food intake. Teenagers require more sleep than adults, and the amount needed varies with age. Ensure your daughter gets the recommended amount of sleep for her age group.
Conclusion
A girls' weight chart is an invaluable tool for parents to monitor their daughter's growth and ensure she maintains a healthy weight. By understanding the average weight ranges for different ages and using BMI as a guide, you can identify if your child is within a healthy weight range. Implementing healthy eating habits, encouraging physical activity, ensuring adequate sleep, and minimizing sedentary time are all crucial steps in helping your teenage girl stay healthy and fit. Remember that every girl's body is unique, and what matters most is supporting her in developing a positive relationship with her health and well-being.
For more detailed information and a visual representation of the girls' weight chart, you can visit Girls Weight Chart . This resource provides a comprehensive overview and can be a helpful tool in tracking your daughter's growth and ensuring she maintains a healthy lifestyle.

Eating for Good Health - Safe Weight Loss vs. Fad Dieting This paper explores the need for safe weight loss and healthy eating, as opposed to the fad diets often featured on television, in newspapers and in magazines. For the purposes of this paper, healthy eating is defined according to the standards set out by the U.S. government in its 2000 guidelines on nutrition. The diet industry globally makes millions of dollars each year. Brands such as Slim-Fast, Slimmers World and Weight Watchers are household names throughout the world and a new diet craze surfaces every few months, helped along by media coverage and the cult of celebrity as a-list stars and lesser mortals in the public eye rush to promote themselves as perfect beings with lifestyles worth emulating. The latest figures published by the U.S. government show a rising incidence of weight problems in the U.S.A. with 31 per cent of adults now classed as obese, along with almost 15 per cent of those aged between six and 19, plus 10 per cent of preschool children. It is clear from such statistics that there is a strong need for advice to Americans on weight loss and healthy eating if the growing problem of overweight is to be turned around for our future health. Excess weight not only harms the individual, putting them at risk of many different life-threatening conditions, but also costs the healthcare system dear. In the UK, for example, there has been talk in the media of refusing to treat smokers and the overweight since their risk of developing health problems is higher and waiting lists for operations are a major issue that has tripped up successive governments. When considering the subject of safe dieting, we should first look at what constitutes a healthy diet. A healthy diet can be defined as a balanced diet with sufficient nutrients to maintain good health (and a stable weight). In this paper we will follow the definition for a balanced diet as set out in the guide Nutrition and Health: Dietary Guidelines for Americans. For the purposes of this paper, we will define fad diets as fashionable dietary regimes that promote weight loss rather than moderate, balanced eating for good health. We will focus on two contrasting approaches to reducing diets in particular: the diet plans devised by Dr. Robert Atkins, which focus on reducing carbohydrate intake; and the programs devised by diet gurus such as Dr. Dean Ornish in the U.S.A. And Rosemary Conley in the UK, which focus on an ultra-low fat intake as the best way to lose weight. We will compare and contrast these weight-loss strategies and examine the evidence for and against these approaches to reduction dieting. In examining safe weight loss, it is necessary to look at how the government defines being overweight and obese in the guidelines mentioned above - and how healthy (or unhealthy) weight is measured. Body mass index (BMI) is a commonly used measure of body weight and is used in the government guidelines produced every five years. BMI is calculated from weight divided by height in meters squared - so someone weighing 100 lbs and with a height of 2 meters (approx. 6 feet) would have a BMI of 25. The risks of heart disease, according to the guidelines, are higher for women with a waist size of 35 or over and for men whose waist measures more than 40 inches. The guidelines also suggests that if BMI reaches 25, further weight gain should be avoided. A BMI of up to 25 is widely considered to be a normal healthy weight, although some people may have a high proportion of muscle and this does increase the healthy range of BMI accordingly. The government guidelines are not restricted to simply talking about healthy eating, but rather set out by suggesting that a healthy lifestyle should also be maintained through taking regular exercise. The guidelines at no point endorse crash diets, but rather stress the value of long-term changes to eating habits backed up by regular exercise in order to increase the basal metabolic rate - allowing the body to burn calories faster. The guidelines also lay out the suggested levels of exercise that should be taken at different ages. The health benefits listed, aside from weight management, include lowered risk of coronary heart disease or osteoporosis. Many of the well-known 'brand names' in the diet industry - such as Weight Watchers and Slimmers World - take a similar approach to weight management. As do some 'fad' diets, including Atkins, Ornish and Conley. Slimming clubs often suggest that their members continue to attend meetings for weeks, or even months, after they have achieved their desired weight loss. For many seeking to lose weight, their focus is entirely on that goal throughout their period on a reduction diet and it is only therefore once weight loss goals have been achieved that they start learning to live more healthily and avoid regaining the weight they have shed. Most people already know that the human body requires a balance of different foods for health. Many people learn the basics about vitamins and minerals and the effects of being deficient in these from their high school science studies. Some may even be aware of more detail - such as the need to get the nine essential amino acids that our bodies cannot make for themselves from our food and the protective potential of fish oils against coronary heart disease. The food pyramid, which is a visual representation of the main food groups and recommended portions within a balanced diet, helps make the government guidelines on healthy eating easier to remember. According to the pyramid we need a daily intake in the right proportions of all the food groups listed in order to have a balanced diet. The food pyramid suggests: eat fats, oils and sweets sparingly; we should have 2-3 servings of milk, yogurt or cheese (dairy); 2-3 servings of meat, fish, poultry, dry beans, nuts or eggs (protein); 3-5 servings of vegetables; 2-4 servings of fruit; and 6-11 servings of bread, cereal, rice or pasta (carbohydrates). A serving in the dairy group consists of a cup of milk or yogurt; 1.5oz of natural cheese (such as Cheddar); or 2oz of processed cheese. A serving in the protein group is 2-3oz of cooked lean meat, poultry, or fish. Half a cup of cooked dry beans or half a cup of tofu counts as 1oz of lean meat. Two and a half ounces of soy burger or 1 egg counts as 1oz of lean meat. Two tablespoons of peanut butter or a third of a cup of nuts counts as 1oz of meat. A serving in the vegetable group is 1 cup of leafy vegetables, half a cup of other cooked vegetables or three-quarters of a cup of vegetable juice. A serving in the fruit group is a medium apple, banana, orange or pear, half a cup of chopped, canned or cooked fruit or three-quarters of a cup of fruit juice. A serving in the carbohydrates group is counted as a slice of bread, half a cup of cooked rice, cereal or pasta or about a cup of ready-to-eat cereal. The guidelines also point out that people have different nutritional needs at various stages of life. Groups such as pregnant women, the elderly, young children and teens have different needs. Adult men and teens, for example, require more carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables than younger children, women and elderly people. Pregnant women, or women hoping to become pregnant also require folic acid. Those over 50 and teens also require more calcium, so should eat more dairy produce (while choosing low-fat options to keep saturated fat levels down). Our needs change according to our age and how active we are and this is why the guidelines set out both the food pyramid for general suggestions on the right mix of foods to eat and add specific recommendations for different groups of the population. We now move on to examine the first of the 'fad' diet approaches we will discuss - the plans devised by Dr. Robert Atkins. In his books and on his website, Atkins suggests following a low-carbohydrate diet to deliberately induces lipolysis (the breakdown of stored fat) and ketosis (breakdown of fat stores into ketone bodies, which are then used for fuel). The Atkins diet program is broken down into four phases. The first of these is induction, which lasts for a minimum of 14 days. During this phase, dieters are encouraged to eat fat and protein freely and restrict intake of carbohydrates to 20 grams per day. In this phase, dieters are also told to avoid legumes (which combine protein and carbohydrates). This makes the Atkins diet program impossible, for vegetarians to follow, since legumes are a major source of protein for both lacto-vegetarians and vegans! Fruit, pasta, starchy vegetables and all dairy produce aside from cheese, cream or butter are also off limits in this phase. The second phase is called ongoing weight loss and this continues until the dieter has reached within 5-10 pounds of their desired weight. In this phase of the plan, carbohydrate intake is increased by 5 grams a week and in the order suggested in the diet plan. In the third phase, pre-maintenance, carbohydrate intake is increased by 10 grams a week and once again in the order laid down by the plan. In the final phase, lifetime maintenance, dieters learn to control their eating and maintain weight for life. This means a lifetime of following a similar regime as the dieter did throughout the plan, counting carbohydrates and sticking to a diet rich in fats and proteins. A low-carbohydrate diet such as Atkins must be viewed with caution. Government recommendations clearly state that a balanced diet should include all food groups on the food pyramid and in the proportions suggested. The government guidelines also suggest that no more than 10 per cent of body weight should be lost within six months without there being some risk to health (such as the lack of menstruation often suffered by anorexics!) Carbohydrates have several functions in the body: they are broken down to provide energy and heat and stored as fat. They also spare proteins from being used to provide energy and heat - which happens when there is an inadequate supply of carbohydrates, depriving the body of nutrients derived from proteins (such as nitrogen from the breakdown of amino acids). Atkins and other such diet gurus claim that the body cannot handle high blood sugar that comes from eating carbohydrates and this leads to excess insulin secretion, which somehow creates a craving for more carbohydrates. Eating anything causes an increase in blood sugar - insulin is secreted when proteins are eaten, for instance. If we look at the advice given to diabetics controlling their condition through eating, these people are encouraged to cut down their intake of simple carbohydrates and choose complex carbohydrates instead, not to dramatically increase their protein and fat intake! The authors of high-protein, low-carbohydrate diets tend to ignore facts like these when they talk about healthful nutrition. It might also be added at this point that 'banning' certain foods surely only encourages those seeking to lose weight to crave restricted foods all the more, which then leads to talk of 'addiction' to certain foods. it's a popular notion right now that people are addicted to sugars in their diet and many fad diets seem to talk about carbohydrate addiction in the same way as they would alcoholism or drug addiction. Then there's the question about encouraging dieters to eat more red meat when this in turn increases levels of saturated fat in the diet. Of course we need fats in the diet, but saturated fats have been proven to increase the risk of coronary heart disease through increasing blood cholesterol levels. There's also a proven link between red meat and colorectal cancer. The American Dietetic Association also points out that: "high-protein, low-carbohydrate diets tend to be low in calcium and fiber, as well as healthy phytochemicals (plant chemicals). Some authors of fad diets advise taking vitamin-mineral supplements to replace lost nutrients. However, supplements should 'bridge the gap' in healthy eating and not be used as a replacement for nutrient-rich foods." Looking at the Atkins Center website, there is a whole section dedicated to products to use in conjunction with the program - from food bars and low-carbohydrate ready meals to a host of supplements - is this perhaps a case of marketing drive over the drive for health? Another favorite fad diet approach to weight loss is ultra-low-fat eating. In the U.S.A., the name Dean Ornish is synonymous with this kind of reduction dieting and in the UK, diet guru Rosemary Conley has sold millions of books and other products, with regular TV appearances since her first book hit the shelves in the 1980s. Ornish has written several books, both for coronary heart disease patients and for reduction dieting. The Ornish approach to dieting means a vegetarian diet, with a fat intake of around 10 grams per day. Government guidelines suggest no more than 30 grams of fat should be eaten in a day - so Ornish's suggested reduction in fact consumption is dramatic. The Ornish regime means excluding all cooking oils and animal products aside from non-fat milk and yogurt. High-fat plant foods such as avocados and nuts and seeds are also off limits for those following Ornish's diet plans. In his book Eight More, Weigh Less - based on his Life Choice Plan - the author suggests that dieters 'graze' throughout the day rather than stick to three large meals and it differs from other weight-loss diets in that the amount of food that can be eaten is not restricted. This diet program is an adapted form of the diet devised by Ornish for reduction of blood pressure and blood cholesterol in coronary patients, but is marketed as a weight-loss plan. In common with other approaches to dieting, Ornish and others like him (such as Conley in the UK) also talk about exercise and other positive lifestyle changes such as smoking cessation and stress reduction techniques. On his website, Ornish states that the reason for cutting down on fat from the diet is that breaking down fat for use as energy burns more calories than cutting carbohydrates. He also suggests that regaining weight is often caused by eating less food: "You can eat fewer calories by consuming less food. That's why you can lose weight on any diet, but it's hard to keep it off because you feel hungry and deprived. An easier way to consume fewer calories is to eat less fat, because fat has nine calories/gram whereas protein and carbohydrates have only four." Fats within the body have various functions. These include: providing energy and heat; supporting body structures such as the kidneys and eyes (which both have fatty pads behind them for protection); transporting fat-soluble vitamins a, D, E and K; making up the protective coating of nerves (the myelin sheath); making up sebum; providing an energy store and insulation as subcutaneous fat deposits; and helping postpone the feeling of hunger through prolonging the emptying time of the stomach. Once again we must stress that cutting down the variety of foods we eat may do more harm than good. A balanced diet is vital for health. Essential fatty acids such as linoleic acid cannot be made by the body, but come from polyunsaturated fats in the diet. A diet without any animal products (meat or fat) removes the most natural way to take in beneficial substances such as fish oils, which can help protect the body against heart disease. Suggesting that people suddenly become lacto-vegetarian (ie vegetarians that do eat dairy produce) in order to lose weight and look after their health is somewhat extreme and verges on irresponsible as it may also be counterproductive. For the dieter, vegetarianism means yet another banned food to add to the growing list from the various popular diet crazes and, sadly, yet another reason to fail in the long-term. Taking on a whole new approach to eating - such as vegetarianism - is a perfectly valid choice when done for either ethical reasons or for disease prevention. But while many people may choose to have the odd vegetarian meal occasionally, a wholly vegetarian diet is not the everyday choice of the vast majority of the population. Soybeans may be grown in the U.S.A., but they are not what most think of as a national dish! http://www.gnc.com/health_notes/Diet/Dean_Ornish_Diet.htm" There are many reasons for the popularity of various diet crazes. It only takes one a-list celebrity follower to create a craze for a particular diet plan. Publicity is all and it seems the more coverage gained in the media for a diet program, the more likely members of the public are to try emulating their rich and famous heroes and heroines. Then there's the willingness to try new options where other ways have failed - seeking a 'quick fix' by letting someone else do the hard work of calculating what to eat and what to avoid. As the increasing popularity of diet drugs and fat-burning supplements also prove, the 'easy' way is often the most attractive. But the simple truth is that there is no 'easy way' when it comes to adopting a healthy lifestyle. Fad diets tend to cut out essential nutrients. When the human body is forced into a state of fasting, the body eventually digests not only its fat stores, but cell proteins from muscle and other tissues can end up being broken down for fuel. Regular exercise is also an important factor in a healthy lifestyle if we are seeking to prevent ill health, rather than simply cure illness and much as fad diets may suggest exercising, how is the dieter to do this when starved of energy? Healthy eating should be for life and not just to lose weight. The prevalence of fad diets that cut out one or more food groups suggest this message is falling by the wayside, despite government efforts.
