10:34 pm listening to Jay Melody’s nakupenda. Weuh. I AM BACK. I went to Meru and what a wild ride. Like what a wild ride. A series of power games that the Universe set me up to win. I just cyannot even believe how the Universe has my back ALWAYS. Like, it is a bit mind blowing. Anyway, Meru was an absolute vibe. I left on monday via shuttle. We took a bike to Karen, a matatu to town then a shuttle to Meru. Another matatu and a bike before we got to Kaletheria. It was a long travel day but I got to experience how people travel in Kenya. We chilled the first night, ate and just got cozy in my grandma’s house. On Tuesday I went to see my grandma’s sister and brother. I walked around Kerendene and got to learn about the area. On Wednesday, my grandma’s sister and I walked 3km to see my grandmother's stepmother. It was lovely to see her. She is over 100 and such an alert, present person. We spent the afternoon with her and visited a few other folx before I went back to my grandma’s house. Thursday was a slow day. Munene came to see me since he has been in Meru. It has been almost a month since I saw him. It was lovely to see him and we just chilled, held hands, walked around and stopped by the Amazon hotel next door. He came over and we had supper at SweSwe’s house then he left. On Friday, Munene and I went to Mikinduri(my mom’s hometown in Meru). I hadn’t planned to go with him but people were being sheisty and because he Loves me, he chose to take me. His sister dropped us in Meru town and we took a matatu to Mikinduri. After one night, we went to Meru town and we had a cute little stay in a hotel. We walked to Greenwood mall and bought a pizza from naivas. We ate, chilled and went to the little lounge they have in the hotel. We listened to music and just caught up as we needed after a month apart. We left around noon and took a probox/meru uber to Luiri and his sister Kendi picked us up. I am so grateful for Munene. Sometimes life serves me chaos and he just happens to be right there. Like there is no one else I want to solve problems with. We just scheme and adventure so well together. Anyway, we got to their house and we chilled for a while, danced, and took pictures. His mom, Aunty, sister and I had a vibe. Then we went to visit his great grandma as she had been asking him to bring his future wife to see her. Then we stopped by my grandma’s house for a minute. THEN…we lit a joint in the car. And cruised around for a while. WOW. What an experience to smoke weed in Meru with people I Love. Like what an amazing experience to be on ancestral land and feel so close to God. The stars were impeccable. The next morning we left for Nairobi together. It was sooooo nice traveling with Munene and his family. They Love each other. I got to lay on his shoulder and hold his hand as much as I wanted on the ride to the city which was just…peak. Basically, the end of such an adventurous week. My takeaways are the importance of Ancestral land, knowing where you're from, people that claim you, the magik of people that know your face due to your relations, learning the area, speaking my native language in my native land with my people, the awe and beauty of the fact that I speak my language and the absolute joy of being in Love with someone from there and being able to be there with him in our language. I am filled with so much joy, so much gratitude to the Universe for this experience. Despite the challenges, I learned something. Familial bonds are not what they were and my Uncle has been consumed by capitalism and consumerism. American imperialism has him in a chokehold. All in all, everything was exactly as it was meant to be. I learned, I grew, I felt, I evolved, I Loved. I am so in Love with this little life of mine. I am so in Love with this person I am becoming. I am so in Love with this current era in my life. Life is SOOOO Gøod. I am SOOOO Gøod. Love is Gøod. Ancestry is Gøod. Great Spirit, thank you for this incredible experience of life.
Ase. Ase. Ase. Ase.

Must-See Digital Nomad Hotspots in Africa
Many digital nomads neglect Africa on their travels, and this is definitely their loss. Africa has some incredible locations and some of of these rival anywhere on the planet in terms of suitability for remote work. We have already explored Europe, South America and Asia in previous articles and also recommended colivings that you can find in each location, so welcome to Digital Nomad Hotspots in Africa.
Cape Town, South Africa
Dwarfed by the imposing Table Mountain, Cape Town is a popular port destination in South Africa.
It has always been a popular port for ships that are traversing the globe as it offers a convenient place to dock at the tip of the African continent.
In this respect, it is often considered the last friendly stop before a long and inhospitable ocean journey.
In terms of digital nomads, it is easy to see why it attracts them in numbers.
Cape Town is a sun-drenched destination that offers a wide range of high-quality accommodations, including some excellent coliving options such as Cape Coliving, which has fast, reliable internet for remote workers.
Cape Town is a huge city that houses some 3.5 million inhabitants, so it isn’t somewhere to go if you want to escape city life.
If City life is your vibe, though, this will be ideal as it comes with all of the amenities of a modern 24-hour city, including shopping malls, supermarkets and an abundance of nightlife.
Although on paper Cape Town has a high crime rate, most of this is confined to the poorer township areas that tourists and digital nomads should be avoiding anyway, so it should be safe for most digital nomads.
Marrakesh, Morocco
Long considered the jewel in the crown of Morocco, Marrakesh is an ancient city with a densely packed walled medina that dates back to the Berber empire.
For those who are fans of history, this is one digital nomad hotspot that will be hard to beat or forget.
There are mosques, palaces, gardens and densely packed souks to explore and the vibrant colours all around will surely brighten even the most jaded soul.
There are coworking and coliving spaces such as L'Blassa in Marrakesh as well as more traditional options of apartments and hotels. The chance to stay in an authentic Moroccan Riad should not be missed.
A Riad is an ancient house built around a central courtyard. The courtyard is open to the sky. They are usually two to three stories tall, and the central area often has a pool or comfortable seating and a social area in which to relax.
Take the time to breathe in the culture and the atmosphere in this vibrant city of just under a million inhabitants.
Marrakesh is generally considered fairly safe for tourists, though the usual caveats apply about being aware of your surroundings. It is easy to be pickpocketed in some of the crowded souks and streets around the medina.
Nairobi, Kenya
As well as being a vibrant and bustling capital city in its own right, Nairobi also has a national park within its boundaries that houses lions, giraffes and zebras.
There is also an elephant orphanage, and this is very well maintained by a reputable charity.
The image most people have of Kenya is the distinctively dressed Massai people in their red and black tunics, but there is so much more to the country and the city of Nairobi than this.
Like every modern city, there are premium shopping malls.
Fast internet access is standard in Nairobi and the climate is in the 20s for most of the year, which makes it extremely pleasant to spend time there.
In terms of accommodation, there is the usual mix of hotels and apartments.
There don’t seem to be any permanent coliving options at present, but there are pop-up colivings from time to time like coworking safari, and if you time your visit well, it is possible to catch one of these.
Cairo, Egypt
Egypt has always held a particular place in the hearts of many travellers, with images of the pyramids sparking the first impulse to travel somewhere exotic.
Whether inspired by movies like Indiana Jones, history documentaries about Tutankhamun, or the love story of Anthony and Cleopatra, this land of antiquity and enchantment has always fascinated many.
Being able to live and work in Cairo, the capital city of Egypt allows for travel to all of the main tourist places of interest as well as providing all of the amenities that a digital nomad or remote worker could need.
Cairo is the largest city in Africa, with over 21 million people.
This is definitely one for those who enjoy a bustling city environment rather than more quiet towns and villages.
The Nile River flows through Cairo and is perfect for a leisurely cruise if you need a few days away from work.
As you would expect with a modern and vibrant city, there is a wide array of accommodation options from hostels to hotels and coliving spaces like Shaha Gardens.
There are also a number of coworking places for those who feel most productive when they are in an office environment.
Taghazout, Morocco
Morocco’s second entry on this list, and this time it is the surfer’s paradise of Taghazout, a sleepy village that has been adopted by digital nomads because of the lifestyle it offers.
In some respects this mirrors the journey that Bansko in Bulgaria has been on, a quiet village that became a hotspot largely by word of mouth.
As you would expect from a digital nomad hotspot, the internet is fast, and the climate is temperate all year round, with a comfortable 21C or 70F even in December.
In this respect, the climate is close to that of the Canary Islands, which isn’t all that surprising.
Despite being owned by Spain and, therefore, politically part of Europe, the Canaries are located off the coast of Morocco.
There are some excellent coliving and coworking options to choose from, whether in Taghazout itself or in one of the nearby towns, which are also seeing an increase in footfall because of its popularity.
Sundesk in Taghazout provides an excellent option for coliving and working and costs around £700 for a full month at their cheapest rate.

3 Days Safari tour in Kenya | Africa Safari park Holiday 2021
What do you do when 2021 is coming to an end and you still have 14 days off work? Well, you book a Safari tour in Kenya & a 5-day beach holiday to Zanzibar! While everybody is working their ass off in the freezing cold December in Belgium, we take off to Africa where it is nice & hot. For both of us, it is the first time in East Africa and the first time we went on a safari.
There is no doubt that we were extremely excited about this trip. Before we left, a lot of people warned us about the danger in Kenya and also the travel advice from the government wasn’t that good… After a lot of research, we decided to take the risk. We must say… we never noticed any sign of danger while we were there. Our advice for when you are in Nairobi; just to be careful and avoid certain areas of the city. When you leave the capital, there are only smiling, happy and friendly people. The only danger there is in the national parks is that you become a dish for a lion, elephant,…
Because it was our first time on a safari, we were a little bit more careful with choosing our safari partner, but we decided to book a 4-day safari trip with Khanga Safari. The communication before arrival was perfect, so we felt confident about this organization.
DAY 1: Nairobi – Tsavo East National Park
After a short night of sleep in Nairobi, our guides were ready to pick us up at our hotel to drive us to our first safari-stop: Tsavo East. Tsavo is not only the biggest (21 000km2) national park of Kenya but also the oldest one. It is divided into Tsavo East and Tsavo West. In between, there is a railway that can take you from Nairobi to Mombassa on the coast.
When we talked to the local people there, they were telling us that Tsavo is really an underrated park in Kenya. All tourists go to Masaai Mara & Ambsoli, but they assure us that Tsavo is worth a visit! They were not lying; the park is absolutely stunning. The good part about it being underrated is that we had the park and the hotel for ourselves! Apart from 4 other people we were the only guests, which was awesome. The hotel (Voi Safari Lodge) itself was beautiful and the view is spectacular. It is built on the edge of a hill and you can watch the wildlife from a safe distance from your room or the restaurant.
Tsavo East is known for one of the biggest elephant populations in the world. An extra, the elephants are a little bit red here, due to the dust in the park. Because the park is so big, it is more difficult to find wildlife here, but hey… looking for the animals is part of the fun!
