Stuart Haynes, Corporate & Commercial Partner and IAG Global Board Member, reports on IAG Global – Wiesbaden held 14th to 17th June 2018

Stuart Haynes (IAG Global Board Member) Stuart Scott-Goldstone and Nick Clarke attended the recent IAG Global meeting in Wiesbaden which was held at the Grand Hotel  Nassauer Hof from 14th – and 17th July 2018

The meeting was well attended with 77 delegates from 20 countries around the world.

The main business meeting was held on the 15th July where we were treated to a presentation from longstanding member and the host firm De faria & partner mbB and guest speakers Dr Florian Steidi Chief Economist and Director of the Wiesbaden Chamber of Commerce and Kerstin Rücker,  an eminent HR Director.

Dr Florian Steidi took us through an interesting resume of the region’s economy including the challenges that it faces.

Kerstin stimulated an excellent debate over the approach to the different generations of candidates in the professional services: law and accounting job market and the effect of the growth of post War wealth and expectation. This included the effects of the Second World War and more profound industrial revolution which we are now in the middle of, technology and the way it impacts on human behaviour.

There were representatives from Morrison KSI with whom IAG Global have a close relationship and John Sutcliffe gave an up date as to their activity.

It was a pleasure to hear from a new prospective member – Oladunni Babalola from AEC lawyers, Lagos Nigeria who gave a presentation about her firm.

Apart from the business session, time was allowed for quality networking with superb visits planned. Delegates toured the host’s offices and enjoyed a formal tour of the Landesmuseum. Saturday brought a tour of the Eberbach Monastry and lunch outdoors at SchwartzesHauschen in the magnificent, historical Steinberg vineyards. Three superb social networking evenings combined with historically significant expeditions all resulted in a packed programme enjoyed by all the delegates and guests.

The whole meeting was closed with an informal dinner at the Frankfurter Botschoff restaurant in Frankfurt on Saturday evening, where delegates were able to bid their farewells until the next meeting.
