my spouse took it upon theirself to sell the ps4 and buy a blue ray player and roku since we never actually play games on it and had a buyer on craigslist within literal hours of posting. which means there's been (and continues to be) a lag between the removal of the source of media, and the replacement media sources. and in the meantime what have they committed to doing?
watching broadcast television.
now I've never been a huge TV person - when my younger sibling and I were kids we had a very clearly defined TV sharing schedule, in which I would watch whatever I wanted whenever it was on unless my sibling wanted to watch something else in which case Endreal was shit outta luck. by my mid teens it was just easier not to be interested in TV shows. but this new experiment of my spouse's has shown me three significant things from the last time I was watching broadcast TV with any regularity -
first, there's a lot of shit out there, and like 80% of it appears to be reruns of stuff I ended up never seeing in the 90s and 00s.
second, commercials are worse. like the quality of commercials is worse, and also there are more of them. I remember when a primetime drama on broadcast TV was ~47 minutes accounting for ad breaks and now new stuff seems to be keyed to roughly 42? that's basically 36 seconds of ads for every 2 minutes of programming! is youtube even that bad yet? genuine question - I exclusively use an ad blocker so I have no idea. and on top of that I've witnessed a nefariously sneaky thing - end of episode split screen with the credits running on one half and another ad running on the other half.
third, PBS (we currently live in the US) is solid gold. like yes the programming seems to be all over the place and I have no idea what the rhyme or rhythm of it is but it's so cool that I got to a) learn facts about ospreys from a cartoon guy in a hummingbird suit, b) watch a vegan cooking programme hosted by a woman who was charmingly annoying in a way that seems uniquely achievable only by Italian-Americans, and c) a bipartisan discussion of local current events including a proposed teacher pay bill being discussed by the legislature of the state I live in. and all in the same day!
basically, broadcast TV is weird, idk how much I like it, and in spite of that if you live in the US and have a few bucks to spare please consider supporting your local public broadcasters!

Articles, reports, and studies about agriculture are likely to contain some version of the following sentiment: “The population is expected to grow to almost 10 billion people by 2050. We must double food production in order to meet demand without hiking up prices. How are we going to produce enough food to feed all of these people without destroying the planet?” Increasing food production to meet the demands of a growing population is presented as the ultimate conundrum. Proposed solutions are predominantly centered on increased reliance on technologies to maximize yields and feed ‘all of these hungry people’ as the population grows, accelerating at a seemingly unstoppable rate. Whatever new technologies or techniques are introduced, they are, first and foremost, measured along the metric of increasing yield. This narrative isn’t just misguided — it depoliticizes the problem, shifting blame in a dangerous way. The reality is that we have enough food on the planet to feed every human being a calorically complete and healthy diet. Contrary to popular belief, hunger is most often caused not by a lack of food but by a lack of access. With the amount of food we produce today, we could feed the highest population prediction of 10 billion people by 2050 — today. This has much more to do with economic inequality than anything to do with population. The people who cannot afford food are most often the people involved in growing it. The vast majority of the world’s impoverished people, most of whom live in rural areas, are involved in agriculture. This seems counterintuitive, but many farmers worldwide are net food buyers, meaning they do not subsist on the food they grow, they sell their crops and use that money to buy food for their families. When prices for crops are too low to offset input prices, when farmers face barriers to accessing markets or credit, or they are forced into exploitative contracts or other arrangements, farmers do not have adequate funds to purchase food for themselves and their families. This is the result of the long process of industrialization that has displaced millions of rural people and removed them from their traditional agricultural practices, replacing polycultures with monocultures. Perhaps the other most damning piece of evidence to counter the narrative that we must ramp up production to end hunger is that some cities have already ended it — without increasing yield. Belo Horizonte, one of the largest cities in Brazil, managed to virtually eliminate hunger through a network of policies addressing different facets of the issue. They expanded school meal programs; partnered with local small farmers to deliver produce to underserved parts of the city at fixed prices for staples; created subsidized restaurants where people could eat affordable, dignified meals, and a host of other policies. It never took more than 2 percent of their annual budget, and the whole transition took less than 10 years. It didn’t require corporations ‘innovating’ or developing expensive technologies. It required political will, the strengthening of governance systems, declaring food as a right of citizenship, and correcting for hunger as a market failure. We are choosing not to end hunger. Presenting it otherwise obscures the fact that it is, at its core, a matter of political will — not a matter of ability.

hey, so I'm trying to figure out what places would be good to sell my own art at, and I'm wondering- what has been your experience with selling on etsy? I've heard mixed reviews from people, and I want to know your perspective as an etsy seller.
etsy is not perfect but i think it gets a little more shit than it deserves, i've thought about opening my own website but generally i'm actually pretty okay with the services i get on etsy compared to what it costs so i'm just gonna make a subjective pros/cons list for you under the cut (because its loooong)
oh and if anyone else has experience selling on etsy and would like to add their two cents in the replies/reblogs please do!
Pros
⭐ The search function - this is etsy's biggest selling point. it already has a dedicated userbase of millions of people and a search feature to help them find your shop, which takes a lot of the load of marketing off your shoulders, and marketing is a huge factor for pushing sales. i am not good at marketing and a lot of my sales just come from people searching my stuff up lol
⭐ Purchase protection program - if USPS loses or damages your package, you file a missing package report and they confirm they don't know where it is, Etsy will refund your buyers order out of their own pocket (under $250). this is my favorite etsy feature because USPS likes to eat packages every now and again. delicious keychains. if you had your own storefront, you'd just have to replace the order yourself.
⭐ Share & Save program - every time someone makes an order on your shop through a special Share & Save link, etsy will refund you 4% of the fees. it's a nice perk to doing some of your own marketing and it helps combat the moderately high etsy fees!
Trackable letter mail - selling stickers but think it's insane to charge $4 shipping? you can buy letter mail labels for about the rate of regular postage, which is like .65c. this tracking is done through etsy though so you can't track with usps, but it does give customers a little peace of mind. this only works in the 50 US states though.
Customs forms built into your shipping label - shipping internationally is a nightmare. etsy makes it easy though, generating everything you need to ship internationally on one label that you just have to sign and date and slap on your package like normal. for some countries they will actually just have your package sent to a domestic facility where they literally do all that for you. this is miles easier than having to do all that paperwork yourself.
buy shipping labels directly from etsy - related point, and just what it says on the tin. when you fulfill an order, you can buy your labels right there on Etsy so you don't have to mess around with a third party website. it comes out of your sale funds so you don't need to charge a card or a bank account or anything.
star seller program - some people say this is completely useless but i actually disagree! it's incredibly easy to earn this badge, and it lets buyers know you've got some of the best products, shipping, and customer service around. it helps you stand out from some of the more... questionable shops on the website.
sales tax - they remit sales tax for you. i don't think any of the other online platforms similar to etsy do this but i could be wrong. doing any kind of taxes sucks so i consider it a perk if they do it for you.
website promotions - every now and again etsy likes to host sales out of their own pocket. you get all the perks of having a sale without eating into ur profit margin. HUGE sale booster
generally the site is just very easy to learn and use and it's very beginner and dumbass friendly. i say this as a former beginner and current dumbass 👍
Cons
❌ the fees. oogh the fees. they claim it's just a 6.5% fee per sale, but on top of that you have to pay .20c automatically for every individual item you sell, plus there are processing fees (3% + .25c) that apply both to the item you sold AND the cost of shipping. i think it comes out to like 10% total in fees on average @ > @
❌ but wait, there's more fees! if you make more than $10k in sales a year (very easy number to hit actually) you are forced to participate in offsite ads, which i believe takes 15% of your total sale on top of the fees in the previous point. these kinds of sales are not as common as you'd think, but it's still annoying having a couple bucks shaved off your profits a few times a month because of them.
corporate bullshit - etsy is like renting a space in a mall. you don't own your lot, nor the mall itself, so if upper management decides to make any stupid ass decisions, you just have to deal with it or pick up and move. if they decide to raise fees again, you just gotta Deal. you are a little bit helpless on this website unfortunately
the push for discounts - etsy is constantly shoving it in your face that they want you to do discounts. they want you to have free shipping on orders over $35, they want you to do 25% off or more on sales, they want you to have returning customer discounts and abandoned cart discounts and 'you recently favorited this item' discounts - but you already have to compete with the steep fees, and when a customer gets free shipping, you still owe USPS that $4-ish bucks to send the package. you don't have to do any of this, but they do reward participating shops by favoring them in the algorithm and search results, so you can feel like you're missing out.
there aren't as many cons imo but they Are steeper cons. generally etsy is very beginner friendly and easy to get into and set up, and in spite of everything i do actually recommend everyone looking to get into online retail start on etsy and perhaps move to other platforms in the future. plus, you can combat all the fees by just... making your prices a dollar or two higher than you initially wanted to, and using your 'save and share' link as frequently as possible. the fees are a little bit much, but you have to think about what you get in exchange:
the search is invaluable, you could argue the fees are partially a marketing budget lmao. if you have a private website you alone have to push traffic to your website, and not as many people know about things like shopify and bigcartel so they might not be as trusting putting their card details into it. i miss out on a lot of REALLY COOL STUFF because artists only advertise on instagram and i don't hear about them, meanwhile if i want some cool owl house stuff i can literally just search that in etsy and find a lot of TOH stuff super easily. i cannot highlight enough how GOOD the search function is, especially in this day and age where social media like instagram and twitter will blacklist your posts if you say words like 'shop' or 'sale' and now nobody can find your stuff in that website's search either. its very hard to do your own marketing now a days :(
being able to refund customer's lost orders out of the company's pocket is such a nice thing to fall back on if you have to and worth its weight in fees. USPS lost like... four or five packages of mine in december. that's like $100 or more worth of stuff that Etsy Covered Completely, and a lot of the times the customer will take that refund to make their order again. don't abuse this system, make sure you check with usps that the package is actually Gone, but it's a godsend when you don't make billions of dollars and eating the cost of lost orders would otherwise sting a bit.
if etsy did not make international shipping easy i simply would not ship anywhere but the US to be honest. shipping to europe is still a headache though but that's because europe is stupid
that's everything i can think of, but tl;dr yes please open an etsy 👍 i recommend it completely in spite of everything
⭐ if anyone wants to open their own etsy shop, use my referral link to make your first 40 listings for free! :)c ⭐

i still don't 100% understand how much one is allowed to put their blorbos into the Heartbreak Gulch-verse, but. what sorta rules would there be for making a CompanDroid character. if other people can even make one. asking for a friend
I'll write up a more formal rundown eventually, but I'll warn you, if you make a CompanDroid, there will probably be something that comes up later that'll negate what you made!
First off, they're uncommon. They were very expensive, and haven't been made for roughly 60 years. Eddie is a pretty old ComDro at 83, he was pre-ordered and number 13 off the line. He's also in great working condition for his age, part of turning to crime was a necessity to afford repairs and maintenance.
There's 26 set models, 13 men and 13 women, one for each letter of the alphabet. A male, B female, so on. Not all are planned out, so there's your wiggle room for design. They were modeled in pairs, and modeled after various celebrities. For example, Model E's, which is what Eddie is, were modeled after a heartthrob Mexican actor, and the Model F counterpart was a Mexican Miss Universe winner. G and H are older folks, G taking the likeness of a children's programming host, and H a cooking show host. I haven't pinned down specific roles for others, but have looks in mind, like A & B being very Ken and Barbie looking bombshells. They range from young adult to elderly.
There were standard and deluxe editions. Standard models are unable to eat, drink, smoke, have sex, other bodily functions. Deluxe versions add all of that. Some models did not have a deluxe option. Deluxe upgrade kits were also available- Eddie himself had an after-party upgrade.
ETA: There's some variations in hairstyles as well- for example, Eddie looks different than a base Model E because his buyer paid extra for an option to have him resemble a role his face-sake played in a western film- hence the very cowboy facial hair
That's all I can think of for now! Run wild and free with your blorbos, just keep in mind how little I've put out there and how much can change haha

TRIPITAKA - the lost spiritual sequel to Cosmology of Kyoto was found
This post is a compilation of a series of tweets I have composed over a period of weeks during this summer.
For years, it was uncertain whether TRIPITAKA 玄奘三蔵求法の旅, by Soft Edge, had in fact ever been published. I remind the more absent-minded readers that this is the studio responsible for the mythical CD-ROM Cosmology of Kyoto, originally released in Japan in 1993, later published in the United States by Yano Electric in 1995. Knowledge of this their second and final production comes solely from the online CVs of producers Hiroshi Ōnishi and Mori Kōichi. No other information could be found online, and no actual copy of the game was known to exist.
Earlier this year, this disc surfaced at Yahoo Auctions. It sold for nearly $300 after 24 bids.
As suggested by its tile, which translates to Xuanzang Sanzo's Dharma-Seeking Journey, it was always assumed that the game illustrated episodes of the life of the celebrated Chinese Buddhist monk, particularly his 7th century pilgrimage to India. The captures printed on the back not only show a character highly reminiscent of the ancient scholar, they depict a variety of scenes taking place in China and India.
According to the severely incomplete archived version of PD Inc's website, the Japanese publisher responsible for this digipack, it was available for sale at museums hosting the 1999 Silk Road Journey To The West exhibition, which suitably matches the date printed on the back cover. However, this date presents yet another open question, as the Ōnishi-San and Kōichi-San bios both list it as a 1995 production.
The technical specifications may provide an enlightening clue, as they refer to Windows 95, 640x480px resolution and an 8-Bit color mode. This indicates that TRIPITAKA was indeed developed sometime between 1993 and 1995, although it was never published in the CD-ROM game circuit, certainly not in the immediate years after its development was completed. Combined with the data retrieved from the publisher's website, the edition shown here appears to have been produced solely for the occasion, as a means to diversify the museum shop catalog for this major exhibit, given the shared theme.
It would have been nearly impossible, had the program been in fact published in 1995, for a single copy to not have been spotted or mentioned online by the many Japanese collectors who have attempted to locate it for decades, unsuccessfully. On the other hand, a CD-ROM that was sold at a museum exhibit is likely to be purchased by visitors who were entirely unaware of the item's relevance as an elusive multimedia gem.
If a tangent is permitted here, both productions are inextricably linked with the museum space, and as far as I can speculate, Cosmology of Kyoto was, itself, also published with the intention of being made available in gallery stores in addition to computer game retailers. I say this because this was a production made possible by collaborative efforts including a variety of Japanese museums, to the extent these are referenced by name in the game's credits.
Considering the price at which the item was sold at auction, I was fairly certain that it was purchased by one such video game collector who knew exactly what they were bidding for. Later in July, I was able to locate the buyer and establish contact. Initially, the buyer was only able to produce this screenshot of the disc program launcher. The title reads "Cosmology of Asia", validating the claims that Soft Edge was in effect planning for series of edutainment software prior to its demise in the mid-90s.
In my second contact with the owner, I asked if he was available to produce a disc image and share it online for purposes of software preservation. The owner politely declined, stating that this was not something he was willing to do but offered to record the following gameplay video instead.
youtube
At a glance, the art style of Tripitaka is unsurprisingly similar to that of Cosmology. Most of its episodes occur during the day, whereas the latter was mostly played under the dark cover of night. The first scene depicts a dying Xuanzang reminiscing on his journeys in the company of a young chronicler. Structurally, both games are also nearly indistinguishable from one another, producing ample historical information for context, including detailed maps and chronologies.
TRIPITAKA was considered to be lost media for decades. As such, the importance of this footage could hardly be overstated. I would not hesitate to compare this development to the unearthing of Osamu Sato's Chu-Teng, the Eastern Mind sequel that was also deemed lost for many years, miraculously found during the time this blog was inactive.
I am delighted to have played a minor role in the unraveling of this thirty year old mystery, and can hardly contain my enthusiasm, as I now find myself equipped with sufficient information to produce a full post concerning a game about which I could not have written more than a sentence, just last year.
I would also like to thank the author of the @mendelpalace Tumblr for his timely alert regarding the Yahoo listing.

the craziest christmas party ive ever attended...(storytime!)
God, the flu fucking sucks. Imagine being healthy for three straight years, working out as often as possible, and then the one time you get caught in the middle of a rain, the next day you begin falling ill. Headaches. Body aches. Cough. Dry throat. Completely zapped all my energy and three years of positive momentum just like that.
One week later, after several trips to the hospital, plenty of rest and medications in between, I was beginning to pick myself back up. If there was any silver lining, I lost weight during that time period because I couldn't eat anything. Even so, I still felt...off. I was forgetting things more often than usual, my clarity and awareness would disappear at random times, and it felt like my body was moving on its own. I felt like I had no control over myself.
This is practically the reason why I've kind of disappeared over the last month or so. The illness completely took me down and I've basically forgotten how to write :< Seriously, I feel like the main character in Memento, trying to pick up the pieces of what the hell happened. I'm getting better with each passing day, though, so hopefully this will all be behind me as we enter the holiday season.
Anyway, it's not often that this country gets to host an international entertainment event, let alone one of the premier Korean awards. No idea, I don't really watch these things at all. The idea of seeing so many K-pop acts and actors in one setting appealed to me. Not to mention the actual lineup? NewJeans! Le sserafim! Mother Eunbi! Itzy! Stayc! Kep1er! Kim Sejeong! Many of these acts are either making their stage debut or have returned numerous times. This was easily a must attend. Who knows when we'll get another opportunity like this, especially after the controversy and backlash surrounding the handling of the ceremony.
I got fortunate buying the tickets. To be fair, they were expensive by local concert standards; 50 USD at the very back to 450 for VIP, which is a significant punch up compared to a typical K-pop concert even solo held in the very same arena. Not to mention, the site automatically picks the tickets for you, rather than give buyers the freedom of choice to select specific seats. It also helps that the pricing turned plenty of people off, on top of previous negative experiences in that arena for other fans. Even better was when I actually entered the venue; since there were so many vacant seats during the beginning, we were moved up to the very front, right where the artists were all seated ahead of us.
Honestly. Shitty camera aside, the scenes were priceless.
I admit I mostly went for the female acts, especially my girlies Le sserafim and Eunbi, but I've learned to give so much respect and appreciate everyone who performed. Regardless of their status and popularity, nugu or main event, the crowd was electric and passionate: they would cheer, sing along to the songs, and interact with the performer when they would ask. There wasn't a dull moment all throughout the seven hour program.
Speaking of seven hours, I can see why I don't watch this shit live: it can be taxing to the mind and body. I had to get up during one of the longer awardings, one where they gave it to like 10 different artists just to stretch my legs. I respect what Wonyoung, Daniel, and Hanbin did to host, cause I'm pretty sure either way my legs would end up melting like jelly after everything that had transpired.
Man. NewJeans. Freaking NewJeans. I understand why they're so beloved and revered like they're the second coming: they truly love their fans. And holy shit, the pop from the audience when they entered the venue for the first time, and they were practically the main characters of the show. Every little thing they did was met with raucous applause. They waved at us like a dozen times all throughout the show and were having fun from beginning to end. Also, the crowd went fucking crazy for their performance. OMG into ETA is insanely hard.
AND THE AUDACITY TO FOLLOW UP NEWJEANS WITH MOTHERFUCKING LE SSERAFIM?! Best transition ever! Their set was even better than MAMA: Perfect Night (holy shit that choreo) into Eve, Psyche, and Bluebeard's Wife (holy shit that choreo). Their aura was through the roof! Unsurprisingly, they also had the crowd going nuclear.
I'm just gonna blitz through the section of favorite performances because if I had to describe them all this would be longer than any of my fics in recent times. Kim Jaejoong is a fucking legend and I was shook when he transitioned from balladeer to a goddamn rockstar. The opening with &Team and SB19 with Gento set the tone for the rest of the show. Kep1er's dance breaks. GOD. I wish it wasn't accompanied with flashing lights cause they were so fucking hot. Mother Kwon Eunbi proved why she's goddamn mother! ITZY had me singing fucking Cake of all songs. AKMU was quirky and fun and thats why I love K-pop. Also, the sibling dynamic reminded me of my rather strange and turbulent relationship with my sister. Just a random anecdote.
The ending was where shit was dialed up to eleven. I feel very lukewarm towards Stray Kids' newer releases post Back Door, but they absolutely brought the heat by opening with Maniac. Get Lit then Topline was when they brought everyone to their feet, including us the audience! And if that wasn't enough, here comes BooSeokSoon (BSS) to end the show on the perfect high. Like none of us were sitting down once it ended.
On top of all the performances, there's the interactions too. Oh man. I was hoping that Le sserafim, ITZY, Kep1er, or Eunbi—any combination of these—would be seated on our side, but we got NewJeans. And they kept interacting with us. So much. Every single member noticed me at least once and I somehow got Hanni on camera. Insanity. If that wasn't enough, NMIXX were also placed on our side, and Lily, Haewon, Bae, and Kyujin waved at us multiple times as well, including during the final goodbyes. STAYC's Yoon went around to wave to everyone in the audience during the intermission period, and after their initial entrance into the venue, Sumin and Seeun waved at us. I really wish I had my cameras on but I was so focused on capturing anyone's attention! It worked; I also got the attention of several other groups, from ZeroBaseOne to Tempest to SB19 to Sakurazaka46. They transferred Le sserafim over to our side late into the ceremony and I was hoping they would interact with us; it wasn't meant to be. I don't have any negative feelings cause I still got copiously blessed with so many other acts.
I don't know what's gonna happen moving forward. Considering the backlash and issues that have sprung in regards to the handling of the ceremony, there's a good likelihood an award show of this scale will ever be hosted again. Or maybe the energy shown by the crowd will inspire future ceremonies, like MAMA or Golden Disc. Who knows. What I do know is that everything about this felt like both a dream and a movie. To see many of my favorites, gain respect for groups I hadn't heard of till last week, and just attend an award show in general is a damn good way to end the year.

Excerpt from this story from EcoWatch:
Following multiple scientific studies that have revealed that carbon offsets are not as reliable as once thought, the market value of carbon offsets has dropped by around 61% when compared to its near-peak value in 2022, a new report has found.
In early 2023,a major investigative report by The Guardian, Die Zeit and SourceMaterial found that the vast majority of forest carbon offset programs are actually “phantom credits” that don’t help remove any emissions from the atmosphere. A 2022 study that analyzed forest-based carbon offsets in California for a decade found no climate benefits from the offset programs in that time period. Yet another study, published in March 2023, found that many carbon offsetting programs weren’t using scientific best practices to calculate carbon credits, leading to over-estimates of the benefits of these programs.
Now, a report by the nonprofit Ecosystem Marketplace found that the voluntary carbon market (VCM) value has declined 61%, from $1.9 billion in 2022 to around $723 million in 2023. The carbon offset market value had peaked around 2021, when the value reached over $2 billion.
Since the peak, the value has decreased by about 56% year-over-year, Ecosystem Marketplace found.
Experts noted that to make carbon offsetting work, there will need to be more reliability and action from the carbon credit programs.
“If the VCM hopes to increase its mitigation potential and the value it provides to ecosystems and communities, especially those hosting [The Nature Conservancy] projects, it is imperative that the credit supply shows its integrity by shifting towards methodologies that use the best available science and social safeguards,” Maximiliano Bernal Temores, carbon markets assistant, Impact Finance & Markets at The Nature Conservancy, said in a press release.
“Crediting standards and project developers must incorporate best-science practices like dynamic baselines and remote sensing to ensure the VCM, especially nature-based credits, meets buyer expectations,” Temores added.
The once most popular type of credit, REDD+, had the biggest losses in 2023. The REDD+ stands for “reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries” and is based on a United Nations framework.
But in 2023, researchers discovered that several REDD+ carbon credit projects in Peru, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Zambia and Cambodia did little to curb deforestation, and these projects had a much smaller impact on emissions reductions than they claimed, Forests News reported.

Importance of Open Spaces in Residential Projects in Mumbai

Mumbai, India’s financial capital, is a city known for its bustling urban environment and limited land availability. With constant construction and rising population density, open spaces have become a crucial feature in modern residential projects in Mumbai. Leading developers, including Sunteck Realty, are incorporating green areas and open spaces within their projects, creating healthier and more sustainable living environments.
Whether you’re planning to buy a house in Mumbai or considering investing in Sunteck projects, understanding the role of open spaces can significantly influence your decision. Let’s explore their importance.
1. Enhancing Mental and Physical Well-being
Living amidst concrete structures can often lead to stress and a lack of exposure to nature. Open spaces in residential projects, such as parks, gardens, and walking paths, help:
Reduce stress and anxiety: Green spaces have been proven to promote mental relaxation.
Promote physical fitness: Residents can enjoy jogging tracks, yoga zones.
Encourage community interaction: Playgrounds and seating areas foster social interactions among families.
Residents of Sunteck Realty projects, in their reviews, have praised the developer’s emphasis on green spaces, contributing to their overall satisfaction.
2. Offering a Sustainable Urban Lifestyle
With sustainability at the forefront of modern real estate development, open spaces play a vital role. Features like rainwater harvesting, urban gardens, and biodiversity parks contribute to:
Lower carbon footprint: Green zones act as natural air filters by improving air quality.

EcomExpert Tips: How to Build and Scale Your E-Commerce Business
Since the e-commerce industry is on boom, Noida, Delhi, and India as a whole have their own set of options galore for entrepreneurs. However, it doesn't require half-baked talent to start one up and survive without resources or expertise. This is where EcomExpert steps in. Equipped with experience, resources, and learning from experts, EcomExpert is where budding entrepreneurs, eager to take over the online trade market, sign up. These are a few of the most critical EcomExpert recommendations to assist you in creating and growing your web business. 1. Select the best e-commerce platform Selection of the correct platform is one of the initial steps towards establishing a successful e-commerce venture. Your platform on which you will be doing business will become the hub of your entire business.
No matter where you are located in Noida, Delhi, or anywhere else in India, being aware of the best options for yourself—such as Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento—can prove to be the tipping point. EcomExpert provides professional advice on how to proceed with making the right choice when it comes to the most appropriate platform for your business, needs, budget, and future development. For example, if you are starting from scratch, Shopify provides an easy solution with plenty of integrations. Or if scalability and flexibility is what you want, then WooCommerce would be the ideal one. The trap is, choose a platform which will boost your long-term success, and not your startup. 2. Build a Website that Welcomes Your site is your webshop, and an easy-to-use and understand approach is vital in order to drive visitors into buyers. EcomExpert places immense emphasis on being easy to use and simple, optimized for both desktop and mobile. In metros such as Delhi and Noida, where mobile commerce is increasing at an incredible pace, a mobile-friendly site is the key to touching a large volume of people.
A clean user experience (UX) also plays a critical role in gaining the trust of potential clients. Your site should load fast, checkout should be simple, and products should be easy to locate. EcomExpert provides UX design best practices, conversion rate optimization, and how to create a buying experience that is memorable.
Drive Traffic Using Digital Marketing Once your website is hosted on the web, the second half is to get customers. An effective digital marketing approach with search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, and pay per click (paid ads) is recommended by EcomExpert. Digital marketing helps to play a very significant role in expanding your business in Delhi, Noida, and India as a whole.
Begin by Search Engine Optimizing your site in order to have more organic traffic. Utilize Google Analytics and Google Search Console to measure how your site performs as well as what requires optimization. Also utilize social networking sites such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn in order to advertise your products, engage with customers, and generate traffic to your site.
Usage of paid advertising, such as Google Ads or Facebook Ads, can also be extremely effective in communicating with a large number of people. EcomExpert provides tips on how to run successful paid campaigns and how to target the correct audience for your product ranges.
Customer Service and Retention
Customer care is the central component of any thriving online business. EcomExpert emphasizes the significance of excellent customer service in order to increase loyalty and create long-term relationships. Whether it is the live chat, email, or social networking platforms, available customer care will provide your business an edge over others.
Apart from that, retention programs like word-of-mouth or loyalty program will also have to be used in increasing your business. Old customers in Delhi and Noida, with so much cutthroat competition, are just as profitable to retain as new ones. EcomExpert gives sound advice on retention as well as learning how to increase a loyal following for your business.
Scale and Optimize with Data Analytics Data power cannot be overlooked. Using analytics tools, as an ecom expert, you can monitor your site performance, observe sales trends, and understand what your shoppers are doing. EcomExpert lets you know how to use tools such as Google Analytics, Shopify Analytics, and many more so that you can gain useful insights into your business operations.
By navigating through data, you are aware of what works best in marketing, what products sell best, and where improvements need to be made. Through making decisions using data, you are able to grow your business effectively and efficiently.
Grow Your Audience through Multichannel Selling To drive your online business forward, it might be a good move to look beyond your website. Amazon, eBay, and Flipkart are certain websites that have huge marketplaces where your items can be showcased to millions of potential buyers. EcomExpert recommends using such websites as well as your own website.
In Delhi, Noida, and India, multichannel selling can assist you in reaching new customer segments and expanding your sales channels. With multiple platforms for selling, you can enhance brand visibility and earn more revenue.
Conclusion Constructing and constructing a successful e-commerce store is time-consuming, hard work, and knowledge-driven. Beginning afresh or considering expanding your store in Noida, Delhi, or elsewhere in India, EcomExpert is ready with the correct tool, material, and approach to begin your venture with success. Implementing these key suggestions makes you create a strong foundation for your e-commerce business that will help you sustain consistent progress in the future.

Purvi Kanji, Vice President of Events, COTERIE New York, tells The Daily what’s in store for the show this year. What’s new at COTERIE New York this season? This season at COTERIE New York, there will be a robust international presence through larger, curated “International Neighborhoods.” These neighborhoods will showcase leading brands from key global markets, providing an immersive experience that highlights regional trends and cultural influences. Notably, bringing in larger pavilion spaces dedicated to Italy, Korea, and Africa, as well as additional representation from emerging markets like Southeast Asia and Latin America. This gives both buyers and attendees the unique opportunity to discover global talent and engage with brands that are setting global trends. Additionally, the launch of a new retail program designed to better support the evolving needs of our buyers. This includes exclusive and targeted meetings with brands. Purvi Kanji (Courtesy of COTERIE New York) Can you give us an example? The introduction of the Brand Curation Hub, where retailers can meet directly with brands for personalized partnerships, fostering deeper, more meaningful business relationships. These new initiatives aim to help brands scale and adapt to the fast-changing retail landscape. What are some highlighted must-see sections of COTERIE this time? This season, we’re particularly excited about the launch of Creative Africa Nexus [Canex] within our Gallery space and our seasonal neighborhood Après Ski. Canex is a grouping of 10 brands from Africa, a premier platform dedicated to talent development and showcasing the vibrant design innovations from the continent and communities. Après Ski is a showcase dedicated to premier winter fashion. This curation will highlight cold-weather capsules and functional outerwear. Finally, FIT Presentation, features emerging students and provides them with a platform to showcase their work to industry leaders. How is this year’s COTERIE different from the past? The primary goal this season is to enhance the experience for both buyers and exhibitors. We’ve made significant strides toward a more seamless, lifestyle approach, blending physical and digital experiences. The show floor has been revamped to encourage more intentional neighborhoods, and there will be more curated content to better reflect shifting market demands. There has also been a conscious effort to prioritize diversity in the brands host and the conversations we explore. What are some returning and new brands being hosted?COTERIE New York has a robust lineup this season, including ANYBAG, VEJA, and AG with continued alignment on quality and sustainability. New to the show for February are the brands TRAMA Paris and add, both of which will sit within our Après Ski neighborhood. What international brands are you excited to see at the show?Internationally, we’re bringing in several standout brands from Europe and South America, including Kero Design, which is a responsible knitwear collection from Peru, and Monies, which is unique high-end jewelry in natural materials from Copenhagen. This exhibit will not only spotlight emerging design talent but also offer a meaningful platform for exploring cultural narratives and historical influences through the lens of fashion. How is COTERIE continuing to push its sustainability pillar?Sustainability is at the core of this year’s vision. A partnership with a leading organization supports brands in improving sustainability practices while providing resources for exhibitors to reduce their environmental impact. Notably, Hey Social Good, a comprehensive sustainability certification program, recognizes brands meeting eco-friendly standards, further reinforcing a commitment to responsible business practices. Sustainability will be emphasized throughout the event, not only in the products showcased but also in the show’s operations, with initiatives aimed at minimizing waste, utilizing ecofriendly materials, and offsetting carbon emissions. What are some experiences guests should check out?The Community Conversations are a must-attend, featuring live panels with thought leaders exploring topics ranging from the future of sustainable fashion to the evolving role of retail in shaping the industry. For a more personalized experience, the Brand Curation Sessions offer brands the opportunity to engage directly with select retailers, gaining insights into their business needs and exploring potential collaborations. How do you prepare for the show? Before diving into the hustle of the show, I prioritize centering myself. One of my favorite ways to do this is by taking a SoulCycle class, which allows me to clear my mind, focus on my body, and reset my energy. It’s a ritual that helps me get into the right headspace for a busy week ahead. In addition to this, I make time for mindful preparation each morning. Whether it’s enjoying a cup of caffeine-free tea or taking a few minutes to meditate, I set a positive intention for the day. I’ve found that when I’m calm and centered, I’m able to navigate the high energy of the trade show with greater clarity and effectiveness.
