LOST TAMAGOTCHI DUB FILES #1

hi all, here’s something obscure i found, a dub of tamagotchi aired on TVB in cantonese. above you can see an image of episode 132 (mysterious tama-friends of tamagotchi village) from this dub, and this is just one of the many pieces of lost media surrounding it, because that episode and many others in the TVB dub are just, lost.

the cantonese dub aired on TVB is very different than the one from viutv, as the TVB dub only aired series 1 and 2 and didn’t have much quality control. the viutv dub on the other hand dubbed all four series and had way higher quality acting, with all of it archived as opposed to the TVB dub.

in 2020-2021 (or smth idk) i saw this dubbing on youtube, there were many episodes uploaded. i even remember seeing episode 143 (the power of the bond) dubbed in cantonese too there, but sadly its all gone. you can still find rips of some episodes in cantonese, but only a few. the title of the dub is 寵物反斗星 if anyone wants to go check it out in youtube.

i’m covering this dub first as its more well-archived than others, and it’s going to be a good segway into the next dub we’ll be covering, the english dub. stay tuned for tomorrow to see that.
