You've reached water 7 yaay! Would love to hear your thoughts about all the galley la crew! Their dynamic is so interesting and i love their introduction at the start of the arc

I know this ask was about galley la but here's a collection of a few of my thoughts on water 7 in general!

-starting off with galley la. UMMM!!!! I will say that is one of the twists that genuinely shocked me so far in the series. the fact that half the town gathered to watch them work n fangirl over how strong they all are was so funny, and they seemed like such a tight knit group. I can't imagine working with them for five years as close friends and then finding out they were evil government workers

-lucci was a lot more fun when he was a ventriloquist who made his pet pigeon talk for him lmaooo

-the aesthetics of the water 7 amazes me! I love the design so much! i'm optimistically hoping there will be enough live action seasons that they make it here, and i've been thinking about how they'll put it off especially considering practical effects are so important to them. i'm thinking they'll build small parts of town like the shipyard, franky's house, and a main drag. and perhaps a model like they did in lotr for shots of the city ?

-usopp honey boo boo...................I get where his insecurities come from, and why the merry is so important of him (a piece of his home town) but he really brought the drama huh

-sanji is always more tolerable when he didn't have as much time to fawn over women. he did what he did best -- looking Cool smoking cigs and kicking ass. he's always so much cooler when he's on his solo missions and as soon as he's back with the crew the Dumbass gene takes over. I also DID think it was funny when he left the love note for nami in paint on the wall

-luffy getting stuck in a wall TWICE!!!!!!!! and being so in sync with zoro. naps at the same time. breaking into places at the same time. their little tag team move on the train.

-i've already talked about them in another post but franky n iceburg have one of the most interesting dynamics i've seen in the series. they make me ill. shipbuilder and ship demolitioner. mayor and criminal. they can never be friends but they'll always be brothers. etc

-franky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was on the fence for like 2 seconds but the blue haired hawaiian shirt wearing freak of nature won me over. he's so silly. he has a cola cooler in his stomach. he runs around in a speedo causing mischief. I love him. new little bug i'm shaking in a jar

-the two train station workers are two of my fave minor characters. they're eavesdroppers who live for gossip. they're making up love triangles and shipping strangers. good for them. good for them.

-nami literally cares for her crew so much. begging luffy to talk to usopp. crying / collapsing with joy when she found out robin didn't hate them. running into the path of a tsunami for luffy.

-luffy always gets this little :o face when he sees someone cry or hears their story. and he uses them as a power up. like yah he was angry but now he's REALLY!!! angry

-sanji's relationship w usopp. this arc revealed sanji ARGUABLY knows him the best

-oh tom :/

-the people of water 7 are v kind and live as a giant community which I think may have come from their struggles before the sea train came to town. the man who gave usopp the lumber and food. franky and co protecting the city. the shipbuilders / paulie helping nami luffy zoro n chopper. the townspeople rallyiing around iceburg and willing to risk their lives for him.

-the going merry :( I knew i'd eventually have to say goodbye to her but when I heard galley la say she was damaged beyond repair I was like no!!!!! NO!!! it's too soon!!!!!!!

-the found family of it all

Features: I am a short woman 4'10. Age 20.  I have curly golden honey-blond hair which goes to my bra-strap length, I have dark chocolate brown eyes, and a little bit of chubbiness in my cheeks. I have a butterfly-shaped scar on my forehead which is from skin cancer from when I was 5-6 years old.

Name/Nickname: Madison, Matt, Papillon (Which means Butterfly in French), Piccolo Guerriero (Which means Little Warrior in Italian. I am part Italian and French on my mother's side.), Little Butterfly, Sunshine, and Little Rose.

Personality: I am a sweet, kind, loving, caring, stubborn, feisty when mad or irritated I will swear like a sailor, independent, hardworking, thinking outside the box, and creative, but if you mess with or hurt me, my family, friends, or loves I becomes scary scary.

If I was in one piece: I would be a woman that ran away from home when she was a teenager because of rough things going on at home and I decided to become a pirate because I want to travel the world and learn new things around my surroundings learning about multiple different types of plants around the world and make history.

My devil fruit power: Ice, (Yes I know I'm basing this off of Elsa from Frozen. Please don't judge me, I just think her powers are really cool. And yes I know a character for one piece that has the devil fruit ability of ice which is Aokiji. LOL.😄😂) Hie Hie no Mi devil fruit. When was four by accident, accidentally ate a devil fruit which is called The Hie Hie no Mi which gave her the ability the control ice and snow. She doesn't remember how she got her hand on one of those devil fruits. The only thing her mother told her was that she had accidentally tripped over her own feet and had accidentally bit into the fruit and swallowed a big chunk of it. Abilities - create and control ice and snow, Ice Creation, can melt or freeze anything she can touch with just a finger, Ice and Water Manipulation, and can Creation of things to come to life which is ice creatures to ice birds to ice monsters. Weakness - like all devil fruit devil fruit powers their weakness is seawater because they can't swim and they just sink to the bottom which all devil fruit users lose the ability to swim, when overwhelmed, childhood trauma, when emotions (emotions: scared, angry, sad, overwhelmed, stressed) become too high sometimes her can lose control of her powers, or scared she shuts people out and when she overuses her devil fruit powers starts to cough up blood fainting/passing out.

Wanted poster name: What the people call her on her wanted poster is "The Ice witch" and she is wanted about 800,000,000 berries/Dollars.

Likes/love to do: I love to drawing/painting, embroidery, reading (I am a bit of a bookworm), doing any type of math, loves plants/nature, and baking in my free time.

I don't like/afraid/scared of: afraid of Spiders, don't like people insulting or making fun of family/Love ones/Friends, and I don't like being yelled at because it scares me from past traumas and anxiety.

Style: I love to wear, off-the-shoulder shirts, leggings, jeans, button-up shirts, dresses, and once in a while a shirt with a long skirt. My home aesthetic is a mix between astronomy and witch. The only other thing is that I wear a heart-shaped ruby necklace around my neck which was a gift from my whole family. I never take it off.

I ship you with Sanji!

Sanji is a hardcore romantic, and he is good at taking care of people. He would adore you, your spunk, personality, protective nature, and would think your devil fruit powers were amazing.

He would definitely call you (Little) Papillon, or a slightly more teasing 'My Ice Queen', rather than Witch (which he feels a bit hurtful saying towards you, even though your cool with the name).

He would love cooking for you, and even though he cooks for the whole crew, he always put a pit more effort into your plate in particular.

It was love at first sight for Sanji when he met you.

You came across the crew after you had moved on from the pirates you had been traveling with before.

You ended up getting tangled up with them when the Marines came after them.

They saw you and thought it would be a two-crews-for-one situation. But you were alone without a crew and Luffy, being Luffy, decided to help you out as well.

Sanji had heart eyes the second he set eyes on you, and the more time you spent with them the more he fell.

You ended up being the one who saved them (with your powers) and he and Sanji thought you would be a great addition to the crew.

You debated joining them, but in the end you did, because you couldn't quite figure it out, but you felt at ease with them.

Sanji was flirty towards you as soon as he could be. And you were more reserved than he expected, but he respected your boundaries and calmed down with his advances.

You grew close anyways, and your romantic feelings follows pretty easily.

Drabble Under Cut:

Close Call

The attack came out of no where, the ship approaching having been concealed in the fog surrounding you.

Nami began shouting commands as Zoro helped steer the ship out of range of the attacks. You and Luffy ran to the edge of the ship to try and see just who it was attacking you.

Sanji and Usopp emerged from below, panic on their faces as they tried to figure out what was going on.

As the large ship attacking you emerged from the fog, you half expected it to be the Marines. But instead, a pirate ship came rushing forward.

"Pirates!" You heard Usopp yell in despair as he gripped into a flag pole.

"Why are they attacking us?!" Luffy yelled in confusion.

"Because they're pirates!" You and Nami yelled in unison as you helped her adjust the cannons.

Firing at the ship did little as the pirates evaded your aim. Luffy threw some canon balls himself, managing to destroy part of their ship.

Hearing Sanji groan, you looked over to see him being thrown around as your ship was hit once again. Quickly rushing to your side, his arm was around your waist before he helped aim the canons with you and Nami.

Another canon ball hit your ship knocking you to the ground.

You let out a frustrated groan before deciding to do something yourself before you sank. Running to the back of the ship, you ducked as debris flew past you as another canon ball grazed the ship.

"What are you doing!" You heard Sanji yell in concern as he watched you.

His question was quickly answered when he saw sheer white encase your arms before spears of ice emerged from the ocean below, gliding towards the pirate ship. Large icicles pierce through their ship, bringing it to a sudden halt. Yells from their ship could be heard as you let out a soft sigh.

Your eyes widened in realization as they shot one more canon ball towards you. You began to run out of the way, but as the canon ball hit your ship, it exploded, knocking you off your feet.

Your vision swirled as you fell. You expected to hit the hard ship deck, but instead, you continued to fall, before suddenly you were surrounded by freezing cold water, swallowing you as you quickly sank.

You had been knocked over the edge of the ship by the blast, and Sanji's heart sank. He yelled out your name before he ran and dove over the edge of the ship without thinking.

His eyes struggled to adjust as he plunged into the water. But as he swam deeper, he spotted a figure in the darkness, sinking deeper and deeper. His heart raced as he swam as fast as he could towards you.

His eyes met yours just as you drifted into unconsciousness. His hands reached out, gripping you and pulling you into his chest as he quickly rose to the surface.

You coughed out the salty water as Zoro and Luffy helped pull you back onto the ship.

Sanji was at your side instantly, cradling your head as he told you to catch your breath. Luffy gently patted your back, knowing exactly what you just went through. The desperation of trying to swim when your body seemed as heavy as an anchor was both frightening and frustrating. The curse of the devil fruit.

"Did we get away?" You asked while catching your breath.

Luffy grinned and gripped your shoulder. "Yes! Thanks to you."

You smiled and nodded while Sanji helped you to your feet. "Come on sweet heart let's go get you dried off."

Looking back, you could see the smoking pirate ship in the distance, stuck in your ice. And there they would remain for a while, your ice would not be so easy to get rid of.

Resting on Sanji's bed as he rubbed a towel through your hair to help dry it, you caught his eye as he smiled down at you.

"My brave Little Butterfly." He muttered softly and you let out a soft laugh. He crouched down and met your eyes, "You scared me when you went over."

You smiled sadly at him, "I'm sorry."

He shook his head as he gently caressed your cheek. "I don't blame you for it, I just... was afraid of losing you is all."

Leaning forward you pressed a soft kiss to his cheek. "I wasn't afraid. I knew you would save me."

He shook his head with a soft smile before leaning forward and pressing a kiss to your forehead. "Always will." Rising he placed the towel around your neck. "Finish getting dry, I'm gonna go get you some hot soup okay?"

You nodded as you watched him leave. You let out a soft sigh. You did lie a bit. You were scared; the water always scared you. But you recalled hearing Sanji's voice call out your name as you plummeted towards the ocean. And from that, you knew he would do whatever he could to get to you.

The sinking cold in your bones slowly faded away as you ate the soup Sanji made you. It's warmth coursed through you and slowly helped you feel better and better.

Looking over, you caught Sanji's eyes and your heart fluttered. He had his elbow on the table as he sat beside you, facing you. His head was resting in his hand as his eyes remained locked on you.

His gaze on you was both soft and intense. He seemed to be thinking a thousand things at once as he stared at you.

"What? What are you giving me that look for?" You smiled softly at him.

He smiled in return before he sat up straight and spoke. His voice was soft, full of emotion and genuine care. "I love you. I know I don't say it enough Papillon. But I really do love you so much."

Your heart fluttered in your chest again as warmth rushed through you. A grin slowly broke out on your face as you turned to face him. Reaching up, you placed both of your hands on his face as you looked into his eyes.

"I love you too Sanji. So much."

Grinning happily, he brought his hands to your face as well. You both giggled softly before he leaned forward and pressed a loving kiss to your lips.

The sudden battle you faced earlier faded from your thoughts as you focused solely on Sanji and the love you felt for each other.

Saegenfolk Reworks -- How I'm thinking about my pastel-goth Chinese-Viking fusion culture

Okay, so, as some of you may know, I am working on updating my Saegen culture to have more elements of my birth culture -- cuz, I legit don't know enough about it so this is a great way to learn and then like... mind-palace it into my worldbuilding (yes, I just verbed "mind-palace"). And guess what? I just finished my first sketches of a rework of the whole culture!!! <3 <3 <3 I'm REALLY pleased, it's really reasonating with me now in a way Saegen culture NEVER was <3

So, let's go over what some of the different stuff is -- Top to bottom, left to right... And I AM open to feedback and thoughts and, in fact, I encourage it <3 I consent to advice!

First thing to notice is the Saegen now have a color scheme that isn't jewel-toned red and gold… because the SVANHIK people are red and gold. I experimented with Green and Teal for the Northern lights -- but Green felt really weird. It made them too elfy. And Teal is already Telethens' color. Nouveau Thuille is purple/navy blue/black… So instead of making the red more jewel-toned, I took it towards Cyberpunk Neon/Barbie pink. Why? This is Asarlai's color in their culture now. Asarlai is the father of humanity and god of magic (up North) So wearing pink is super fatherly, magical, and clever. We still have black because black plants just work good in these near-underground settings -- absorbing waaay more light. So now the Saegen aesthetic is now like… pastel-goth Chinese-Vikings.

Next, we have the FASHION! The fashion is very very specifically stolen from the silhouette of Hanfu, just with more fur and different materials. I imagine it being Rumateur wool, but also leather and dyed animal skins and maybe bamboo silks and so forth. We still have elaborate braids and wavy hair, but in my mind, their eyes are all like the Sakha people or something. They still use their hands to paint their faces -- typically for sunscreening/snow-glare/sea-glare reduction reasons as well as receiving Asarlai's blessing. And while Thuilleans prefer silver metals, they prefer gold. This is just a contrast thing.

Next next: Houses! They mostly build out of these silvery bamboo stalks that grow under the Upper Continent. I really like these tent-like silhouettes to their houses -- with littler tents stacked atop each other. They also have igloo-like, bulb-shaped homes for temp shelters! Their ships are like dragons with their wings and blade-armored fronts (mostly for ice, but also fighting). And some even ride small whale-landsharks with sealskin saddles ❤️

Weapons and tools wise: They're really well known for their Ysse lanterns (I mean, EVERYONE IS but for different reasons). Theirs are all a really pretty pink -- the "purest form of Ysse light" (Not really.) -- and have the teardrop bulb shape. But they look like these warm, nutrient restoring fungi that naturally grow (or probably a god put them there) in Saegenheim. They also have guns (which have magic bulbs that, when struck, blast out fire. So really, they're flamethrowers but I don't like the way that sounds lol). They also use these Tang-dynasty-inspired swords and poleaxes pretty commonly.

Animal and creature wise: Their rumateurs are much bigger and bulkier -- more cattle-like thanks to the flatter plains around Saegenheim -- than the more lithe, leapy rumateurs of the Nouveau Thuillean valley. They also keep artic bunnies (even though the're considered mild pests in Nouveau Thuille) as easy food and sometimes even hunt seals. However, they have to be super careful not to murder their selkie brethren -- it is generally wiser not-to hunt seals because they might be a selkie -- and instead just ask seals for their molted skins (which they molt in one, thick slough once a year) or milk to make cheese or kumis. Not-shown: They also heavily rely on Butterflies of the Heart for Honey, Wax, and Mead --because despite their name, they're actually bees.

Above the Saegenheim cave are these enclosed plains of black bamboo forests. A currently unnamed but critically important fungus grows in tandem with the bamboo and is part of the bamboo's natural life cycle. I'm not entirely sure, but maybe something like the bamboo grows up and starts putting out leaves to photosynthesize, to pump back into the ground. The fungus feeds on the bamboo but then helps it spread further and also, gives the bamboo nutrients back in the winter. And eventually, the fungus eats the dead stalks WHILE fixing the soil for the new growth?

Regardless, the Saegen people eat this fungus as one of their staple foods.

They also eat a ground-fungus that the rumateurs and bunnies eat up here that grows small and under the frost but VERY PERSISTENTLY, much to everyone's surprise (it's the 5" one). It also works with the bamboo and tree fungus to make this really weirdly balanced flow of nutrients in and out of the soil with the seasons.

The ground fungus is usually dried, ground up, and then used for soups or baked goods (like flat breads or meat loafs.) Meanwhile, the tree fungus is usually eaten without grining but still boiled/fried/baked OR dried and ground up and brewed to make coffee. ((This is where the Northerners get their coffee -- the coffee is a lie, they are perpetually drinking an American Civil War Confederate coffee substitute XDDDDD But at least their coffee usually has good protein, micronutrients, and caffeine-like substances, unlike real Civil War coffee substitute LOL))

So Saegenheim is now in the Womb of the World, (the environment sketch) taller and this tree-like fungus grows that is also edible and can act as a meat-substitute nutrient-wise BUT it grows much slower, so it is carefully monitored by the Sages so they don't fuck it up.

Speaking of the Womb of the World -- this warm, damp refuge in the otherwise hostile, VERY NORTHERN part of the tundra is a cave warmed by the specific way the permanent Ysse Springs interact with the stones here -- warming the cave to very liveable temperatures year round. The Sages of Saegenheim have built their home here to honor the Gods who brought forth all of humanity. However, most Saegenfolk do not live here year round -- they are semi-nomadic, in that they go to the same few places and settle for the season. Different royal families will lead their people to different places, but those who can afford it will return to winter in the safe, reliable Saegenheim to catch up on news and celebrate Godsweek. They hang new pink lanterns in the streets at the beginning of every new year.

And lastly, when they aren't in Saegenheim, the Saegenfolk are often sailing. And this means they are hunting whale-landsharks, sea serpents, shrimp, and artic carp (articarp, if you will XD).

Now this closeness of location and similarity of lifestyle and respect of the Sages and Gods may lead you to believe that the Saegens are cooperative, extended-family-oriented folks.

No.

Due to the harshness of the environment, a great deal of emphasis is placed on survivability and military. And when everyone is seeking to be better, then you cannot rest for even a moment or you will fall behind. If you are not young enough to be trying to get stronger/cleverer/better/more useful, then you better be teaching others to get there or you're useless. And useless things are to be cast off…

Every family has its own sort of military hazing rituals that involve ridiculously long, cruel, and unnecessary training hours. Admittedly, it's a well-rounded education but there are all these weirdly specific judgements about you, depending on what kind of instruments, weapons, poetry, and cooking recipes you know. And even though your extended family will provide you food and teach you and find your more private tutors as you grow up… you will be constantly compared to your cousins. If you are worse than even one, you are pressed like you are worthless. If you are better than all your cousins and siblings by 200%… why is it not 250%? 300%? You cannot ever be Enough in Saegen culture.

Unless you're a Sage. Sages are judged by entirely different standard. But the number of people who try to become Sages and fail is also… quite large.

Yeah, I struggle with empathy, but I'm no asshole, I'd ask people if I can do something and constantly check on them. Low empathy doesn't mean that I'm not capable of loving or caring.

About the love life... lmao, I'm an extrovert!!!! but dude!!! I'm not talking with the person of my interest, I'm gonna freeze, and act cold around them, sometimes even a little rude (I would hate if they find out, so... just to be sure.)

Janus trudged tiredly up the stairs to his apartment. The sixth floor had seemed like a great idea at the time. Only two other occupied spaces were up there and they were towards the front, while his own was nestled safely in the back corner. Quiet and peaceful since it didn't share any walls with loud neighbors and far up enough that the fact that the buildings elevator didn't work was usually a blessing since it kept guests away when he really wasn't in the mood for social interaction, which happened more often than not.

Well. With one exception.

He dug around in his bag for the key, smiling as he caught faint music playing inside. He paused as he strained to hear the tunes better, smiling wider while unlocking the door.

Origin of Symmetry, Dark Shines. Of course. Idly he wondered how long the album had been on loop throughout the day. He knocked the door shut with a toss of his bag, leaving it where it landed for now and slipping his shoes off as he walked. The hat fell next to reveal tousled dark blonde hair in desperate need of a flattening iron if only to save his edgy style from tipping into choir boy aesthetics. He caught sight of his target resting on the couch, legs splayed and head tipped back as he hummed softly to the music. An easy work day must have been too much to ask for either of them.

Flopping unceremoniously onto his stomach he wriggled forward until he was fully stretched out on a warm lap. If he had ever wondered why cats liked laps so much he had stopped when he met Remy and they had cuddled for the first time. Warm, safe and only slightly uncomfortable with how bony the others' knees could be it felt like all the problems of the world could be boxed off neatly and launched into the sun for all he cared to think about them while relaxing. And that wasn't even mentioning....

Sinking down even further he very nearly purred at the feeling of fingers scraping gently along his scalp, carding through messy curls and getting the worst of them away from his face. As the last guitar riff faded out, Muses cover of Feeling Good ironically began to play, the build up to the guitar drop syncing nicely with the scratches and filling his chest with warm happiness.

He didn't know when he had gotten quite this sappy. Only for Remy.

And speaking of. "Rough day?"

Humming his affirmation, his boyfriend moved to running careful fingers over his neck and any part of his upper back he could reach, chuckling as it caused Janus to stretch out with quiet contentment. "Yours doesn't seem to have gone much better, bae."

"How did I get stuck with such a basic bitch?" He groaned and buried his face further in his captured lap.

"Oh honey. Bitch? Maybe. Basic? Doubt. You wouldn't know what to do without me and my coffee addiction keeping you awake until one in the morning."

Grunting again, Janus flipped over to scowl at the other. "Exactly what time do you have your phone set for that you think the latest you keep me up is one?"

Smiling, Remy leaned down to peck his nose. "If I set my phone so that it only shows nine o'clock at three thirty in the morning and trick my brain into thinking I follow a proper sleep schedule then that's my business. You business is to tell your clingy boyfriend that you love him very much and then tell him why your day was shit. I can see the underlying murder under all of that pure adoration."

Pointedly ignoring the muttered "Pure irritation more like" Remy laced Janus' fingers into one hand and resumed his petting with the other, smiling softly as he watched him melt under the touch.

"It wasn't bad. I just wish it was socially acceptable to...nudge...certain coworkers down an icey sidewalk to see how many pedestrians I can knock over. I'm fully inclined to believe that that is not an unreasonable request."

Remy bit back a laugh to try not to disturb his fading headache. Caffeine kept the worst of the migraine away but he had managed to overdo it after about the 12th cup of espresso laced frappuccino. He settled for a small smile and nod of the head, expression serious as he considered the scenario.

"Maybe just use your manager to bowl over the coworkers. Innocent bystanders hardly deserve to incur your wrath."

Janjs squeezed his hand and chuckled. "It takes far too much energy to keep righteous morals straight. I'll take what I can get. What about you? Did you have to kick anyone out again?"

The bar Remy mixed drinks for was far from high class but it was a nice establishment nonetheless. Even so, there was an occasional brawl that was left to him to break up since for at least half of the shift he was stuck on his own. Thankfully today had been a slow day, no one really came in on Thursdays, which he voiced thankfully to his partner.

"If I'm ever at the bar while you're working and a fight breaks out, am I allowed to shout for you to give them the chair?"

"Only if your recording it so we can say it was self defense. My insurance is good but it's not getting away with chair violence good."

"My boyfriend is such a badass."

"And mines a cuddly sap." Tilting his head to avoid the retaliating swat he leaned his head back against the couch cushion.

"Since we both feel like tired shit I vote for takeout tonight. Pizza?"

Janus nodded. "Only if my half is Hawaiian."

Remy wrinkled his nose. "You're an abomination."

"Its not my fault you're boring with your order. The most extravagant I've seen you go is getting extra cheese put on a plain cheese pizza."

"With all the complications I put into my coffee, let me have my simple pizzas."

"Bassssic."

Remy tugged the hair he still had his hand tangled in gently. "Shut up and order. Your phone is closer and I'm lazy."

Janus shifted on his lap, turning to face Remy's stomach and wrapping his arms around his waist. "Five more minutes."

Laughing softly as the last chords of Megalomania faded around them he settled further back onto the couch.

"Five more minutes."

I'm not much of an astrology person myself, but from what I've read, it seems that Geminis are very chaotic and social people. Jonathan seems more introverted so to me you two will balance each other out!

As a philosophy professor, he has a deep appreciation for the arts as well and you two could spend hours talking about it together. So the graphics I vision for this song are sorta based around Book 3 Sukka. I headcanon that Sokka would look up to Yue for reassurance when feeling lost, such as when Suki was imprisoned and he had no idea where she was. Also, post-Book 3 when they are in their long distance relationship, I know they would miss each other like crazy. Something I see comforting them is the fact that they see the same moon.

Now we all know Suki is our resident independent- badass- queen who doesn't need anyone to look out for her, especially a man. Like I can imagine her having to hear this from so many people around her growing up, and to hear it from someone she showed interest in must be disappointing. Not a super happy rec, but a necessary one nonetheless.

So oddly enough, I actually find enjoyment in 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series'. But in the scene, the main couple sang this to each other when they couldn't be together for Valentine's day, and when I first heard it, my head immediately went to Sokka and Suki. Seeing that they had a long distance relationship for a decent amount of time and have many individual responsibilities, they are bound to miss some holidays and events. But even through that, they know they are the most important parts of each others lives.

One of my favorite things about Sukka is how supportive they are of each other, and how easily they make each other happy. They've seen each other at low points, they've been on death row, but through that they were still there cheering each other on.

I somehow missed the fact that you don't watch GoT, so now I'm really curious about how/when you fell in love with Jonsa? Is it a "crack ship" for you or one you genuinely like the idea of/think will happen in the books?

I have probably watched a grand total of approx. 11 minutes (🙈) of screen-time from various YouTube clips and gifs and the like on this site! I adore the aesthetic of GoT, the imagery, the little show-snippets I catch from time to time… but I��ve got no burning desire to watch it till the books are finished — a naïve hope, I know — could be waiting a looooong time. But I am nothing if not patient! Now! Onto the ask... *clears throat*

Book-verse Jonsa is a different beast to show-verse Jonsa, in my opinion at least. George R.R. Martin is a master world-builder. Master word-weaver. Master plotter. There are no lingering looks that burn on-screen. No subtle stares translated via cameras. No fuck-me eyes and fiery arguments in tents and solars. For one, Jon and Sansa are hundreds of leagues apart even by the end of ADWD. Probably still years apart from being reunited. They are also younger than their show-verse equivalents. Their trajectories are very different. Their traumas are different in subtle ways, too. Yet despite these differences in circumstance and distances in space and time, they occupy — share — a really fascinating territory: a reciprocal reality.

This reciprocity of their lived experience(s) has always resonated with me — as has the outright reversal that takes place between them. High-born daughter to a lowly bastard of rocks and sheep-pellets. Bastard-born boy to a capable and respected Lord Commander. Reversal, to be true — but reciprocity, too. Crow and little bird. Stone and Snow. Lady and Commander. Queen and King(?????) This innate circling of each other’s place in society, the sidesteps their character-arcs take… ultimately I think the edges of their circles will meet to form a new one.

Why? Because in many ways they are each other’s mirror. Sansa starts as Catelyn reborn. But she grows into something different than her mother’s miniature. Sharper. Stronger — gentler, too. She has tact and courage. She knows how to survive. She is so clever it is startling — especially the subtle things and treasons she picks up on in any and all exchanges between lords in the Vale. Now Jon. Jon starts as Ned. Wants to be Ned. Looks so much like Ned it makes Catelyn sick with fury. But he moves on. Becomes something different. Something sharper. Stronger — gentler, too. He has tact and courage. He knows how to survive — even if survival means shedding honour and choosing to bend to spite and vengeance. He is so clever it is startling — especially the way he twists situations to his best advantage, how he plays kings, makes parlays, switches babes. You see where I am going here with the two of them? They are a mirror-image in many ways. Two halves of a circle. Brave. Gentle. Strong.

✨ [I have more to say about that central motif — brave, gentle, strong — and how it relates to the numerous characters and interactions Jon and Sansa entertain (and suffer…) throughout the books… but I won’t bore you with that — I am aware I am already rambling!] ✨

So to stop my rambling and sum up (and actually answer your question sorry sweet!!) when I first read ASOIAF — about 10 years ago now gulp — I didn’t connect the two romantically really. I read Sansa purely as a child and never focussed on who she might end up with. I adored (and still adore!) Val’s character, thought her a natural fit for Jon… but then over years of re-reading (and a fair bit of fanfic theory and dabbling) I have come to view Jonsa as a distinct canon possibility — and my absolute OTP. Do I read every passage of every Jon or Sansa chapter and make detailed inferences as much as other Jonsa book-verse shippers? Probably not. Sansa’s snow-castle passage in the Eyrie, for instance, has always carried two very distinct underlying readings for me: snow as in Snow as in Jon Snow… or snow as in Winterfell. Home. Grey and white. The North. Her heart — the place it will come to beat within, rule over, find some rest after the weary weight of years and whatever horrors WoW will sweep upon it (and us!). Do I think either reading is possible? Yes. Do I think they are reciprocal? Hell yes. Mirror-image, honey. Mirror-image. Full circle. All that jazz. Just like Jon and Sansa themselves... ⭕

You didn’t want to think about all the paperwork you still had to complete at the weekend; you simply needed some time to yourself.

The house was empty since Darcy had gone to Jane’s, helping her with a new experiment, so you could enjoy the silence and some alone time until your girlfriend would get home. You made a quite messy bun out of your blonde hair and headed towards your bathroom to run the tub full with hot water with extra bubbles and maybe even a bath bomb. You got in the bath tub and put on your favourite playlist, leaning back and closing your eyes, trying your absolute best to relax. 

After the bath, you walked out into the kitchen in a robe, ready to make yourself a cup of tea when you heard the voice of your girlfriend greeting you from the dining table. You jumped and put your hand on your chest, heart beating like crazy as you turned towards Darcy who was smiling at you from behind her laptop. 

“Shit Dars, you scared the hell out of me? When did you get home?”, you asked, still trying to calm your racing heart. She just shrugged and said that she had been home for about ten minutes maybe. Then her expression totally changed and she flashed a huge grin at you; you were sure she was up to something.

And now, there you were sitting in Darcy’s car, listen to old-school rock ‘n roll and sticking your hand out of the window. Your girlfriend decided she would drag you out of the house, specifically from all the paperwork and take you on a well-deserved road trip. You were thankful to her for making this gesture for you, but deep down you were still anxious about all the work waiting for you.

You only realised you had stopped by the edge of a cliff when you heard the car door shut on Darcy’s side and she called your name, pointing at the night sky. You got out of the vehicle and made your way towards your girlfriend, wrapping your jacket tighter around yourself in the chilly air. 

You had been lying on the roof of Darcy’s car, gazing the stars and talking about how ncredible this all was when suddenly, she got up and ran towards a nearby tree. 

“Come on, we can get a much better view from up here! You know, get closer to the Moon and everything…”, she murmured as she made her way up on the branches, trying to convince you to follow her. You simply smiled to yourself and shook your head before approaching the tree and starting climbing. You truly had the craziest and greatest girlfriend in the world.

What are you wearing: PJ's. I'm at home rn wishing for time to not pass b/c I'm not feeling work at the moment. uuuuugh.

Dream job: Author or song writer. I'm always constantly working on non fanfic stuff, I don't really share it though with anyone unless someone asked but even then I'm worried b/c I get rather excited and hyped up about my own work and I'm scared of annoying people.

Instruments: *Patrick voice* Is mayonnaise an instrument? Okay but like I can't play anything for shit and I can't really sing either.

Language: My original/native language is English. I can understand some basic French *Shivers from college flashbacks* but I can't write it b/c like freaking accent marks. I'm on and off learning Hebrew, both to speak and write it. I can tell you I love you and curse you out 😉. Haha but yeah Hebrew is going well. I don't tell people I'm trying to learn it b/c it's idk like I'm embarassed and it's a slow process.

Favorite song: Feelings by Hayley Kiyoko because oh fuck do I feel that on a personal level

Random facts: Extra cheese is my mortal enemy. I love using just my straw to get ice outta the cup. I collect decks of playing cards (So far I have a OUAT deck, OHSHC deck, Hetalia deck, Supernatural deck. I have more but that'd take too much time to type), on my first birthday I got a blue blanket with stars on one side and animals on the other and to this day I still have that blanket.

Aesthetics: I'm gonna use this to do some self promo. I'm gonna show some of the aesthetics/moodboards I've made that are my personal favorites.

Oh my goodness... today was a LONG day! 😫 One thing led to another and I ended up streaming twice as long as I usually do. How do you longer stream streamers do it without losing your voice? *croaks hoarsely then sips warm honey tea*

We started out by welcoming our first Facility recruit: Barold! 📹

I'm not sure yet if I'm going to make him a researcher or just the security manager... we shall see. 🤔 But this funky lil dudes aesthetic is PERFECT for what I'm planning!

Next we set-up a new villager plot and went off on a whirlwind of plane rides! ✈ Met a bunch of new people - most of whom seemed to be visiting these little deserted islands on purpose, but a couple seemed to be... lost? (Biff honey, do you need a ride home?!)

After 20 tickets, destiny struck and we recruited our first robot! 🤖AHHHHH!!!!! I'm so excited!!!! He's even my favorite robot villager! 😍

That settled, I was ready to wrap up the stream! Literally AS I WAS DOING my end of stream spiel, Rodeo comes up to me and is like...

... Why, Rodeo, why? 😭 I knew you weren't going to be an end game villager and so you moving away was inevitable... but I didn't expect it so soon...

I looked up what the moveout process is and calculated those against my schedule for the rest of the week, and would not have had time to do another villager hunt any other day. So we took a short break for sustenance and strapped on our villager hunting hats again!

Time travelling forward to Friday got Rodeo in his boxes moving out, and Cephalobot in his boxes moving in.

TAKE A LOOK AT HIS AMAZING ROOM! AND HE HASN'T EVEN UNPACKED HIS FURNITURE! *unintelligible babbling in sci-fi*

Fast forward to Saturday, and on only our THIRD ticket, we stumble across a villager I somehow had completely missed when I was putting together my sci-fi villager list. 🤯

Meet Del! He's a mechanical cranky villager (my heart!) that is themed after a battle ship. I took a peak at his house and it will be another perfect fit for The Facility.

This week has been so amazing! I've solidified my plans and picked up three whole villagers for my sci-fi island. Things are starting and I'm so excited!
