Something I’ve learned while riding Ireland…if it’s sunny, you take FULL advantage of it. For me, sunny days are distance days and I’ll ride until 11pm at night to cover more of this Wild Atlantic Way route.

But I’ll still ride when it rains. Just not as late. Slowly chipping away at this route 😼💪🏍

so glad you fell into the doggett/reyes trap! they really are a surprise treat at the end of the x-files run and i wish we'd had a little longer for the new generation to hit their stride (honestly, i wish we'd had a year or two off as a palate cleanser and then a spinoff BUT i digress) (and also the lone gunmen should have kept going that show was soooo stupid but funny as hell).

like i admit you gotta kinda WORK to love season 9, but once you commit to that effort (and are willing to just like. chuck some episodes out entirely) it pays dividends because man they speedrun that agent romance and there ARE some good episodes and, perhaps most importantly, SCULLY HAS A FRIEND.

anyway i love doggett/reyes (it was "drr" for "doggett reyes romance" back in the day when everything used to be coded by initials, which is how i usually tag it on this blog if you're looking for posts!) and your comment dedication lights up my life thank you 💕

8. What cleaning product do you swear by?

I'll use Clorox/Lysol wipes for pretty much anything that's not someone's body or meant to be eaten off of.

11. What's something you saved up for and then regretted buying?

Our king-size bed frame looks great—and was the result of a lot of searching for the exact look—but is not of the quality we'd expected given the price (which was admittedly an on-sale find at Pottery Barn Teen, of all places, but still). It kinda wiggles and squeaks a little even just climbing onto it, and last year one of the peg legs straight-up broke off seemingly spontaneously.

13. Which filter are you most likely to go "eh, it's probably fine" when you find out you need to change it?

The little charcoal filter in the coffee machine, which I honestly didn't even know needed changing until my mother-in-law brought it to my attention a few years ago.

37. Do you still listen to the same music you listened to in high school?

Not exclusively but definitely. There was an incident recently where something brought up Good Charlotte and led to Boyfriend and I belting out every word to "Waldorf Worldwide" while trying to bathe our toddler, who will surely wear the same look on her face as a teenager when I assume this will happen again, because evidently those lyrics are never leaving me at this point.

Oooh, what did you think about Romancing Mr. Bridgerton? It's my favorite book of the whole series but to be fair, I read it as a 14 year old and imprinted on it like a baby duck so I can't be impartial or unbiased about it AT ALL two decades later. I have been looking forward to Pen and Colin's season since they first announced they were doing this whole series as a show. And the fact that Nicola is cast as Penelope was just the icing on the cake for me. ❤️

i enjoyed so very much! all the spinster discussion, the meeting/dancing on the corner, colin being basically 'can we be forever?' after they kiss but then talking himself backward, you can be the you you were meant to be only when you're seen, i too was that young woman, THEY WERE MARRIED FOR SO MUCH MORE OF THE NARRATIVE THAN I EXPECTED, the blackmail!

in short, i couldn't be more excited to have this saga play out before my eyes!

I got tagged for Six Sentence Sunday by both @hondagirll and @unseenacademic, but just forgot about it. (Thank you both!) But hey, it's technically Sunday in my time zone! (And if I don't do it tonight, I'll forget about it again.)

Since I got tagged twice, I'll do two snippets, but please ignore if I went over or any awk phrasing or typos. Both are from the same WIP, but different chapters, and both are incredibly silly/stupid moments. (Been re-reading a certain AU in hopes my muse decides to return and finish it.)

Still at the White House?” “I… just arrived home. And I was just about to call you.”

“I’m afraid to even ask what I’ve done,” Danny admitted humorously, trying to defuse the tension in the air. “I’m sorry about whatever it is.” “Your species is making my life impossible.” His visible confusion faded into a puckish smile. Danny was always ready to volley with her, to dish back whatever quip or taunt she was throwing at him with gusto. “Had no idea choosing a profession could irrevocably change my DNA. Only heard that happening with politicians.”

Are you a good driver?

I think I'm a pretty good driver, yeah. I've had a license since I was 16 and have never had a moving violation. And I drove in Japan and Germany when we lived there.

35. Describe your favorite stuffed animal, either now or from when you were a kid.

I never actually had a favorite stuffed animal, I don't think. I had dolls and stuffed animals I played with, but I never had one particular lovey. My mom says when I was little, she'd tuck me in bed with several stuffed animals next to me, and then before I settled down to go to sleep, I'd sweep them all onto the floor. 😂 The one I had longest was a pink stuffed rabbit that was given to me when my younger brother was born. Its filling was some kind of wood or cork pellets, so it was pleasingly heavy.

Happy Monday from Galley Head, Ireland! 🇮🇪🌊😺

Some fun highlights from this visit: • I saw a sea lion blobbing up and down in the water • A slug left a trail so thick I thought it was the plastic wrapper from a straw • The strange hole in the ground that led to the sea • I dropped Freyja doing a U-Turn on this uphill gravel! It was about time, I haven’t dropped her in a while. 😹 Spilled gas, picked her up by myself, bent the left gear shifter. Rideable, but foot is sitting at a weird angle. Oh well, future Crystal will deal with it later. I don’t have the tools or ability to bend metal.

#p&p from darcy's POV is always the best #he and lizzie are on two different wavelengths but the poor guy has NO IDEA until lizzie brings up wickham and then its like facepalm time #the poor dude is doing his best! #his best is like a solid 3 out of 10 but hes trying (via @hondagirll)

do you ever think about how darcy's perspective of the visit to rosings is just... a completely wild time. so like. he and his favourite cousin goes to visit with his weird aunt, and ends up running into this hot girl, that he's really kinda increasingly into? she's staying in the area for a while with her bestie. so like. he was expecting a boring social obligation visit & getting pressure into marrying his other, less favourite cousin. instead, he watches the hot girl hold her own with his aunt in conversation. she banters with him over the pianoforte and they have a Moment™. he keeps going over to the house she's staying at, just to awkwardly chill there, even though he doesn't like the other people there. has a whole conversation with her about how she wouldn't mind living far away from family, as long as she could afford the travel. he extends his visit so he can keep seeing her. when he runs into her on a walk, she makes a point of detailing the exact route she prefers to take while out walking, clearly encouraging him to join her, so he does. he has a really nice time on these walks, they spend a lot of time in companionable silence, but he manages to flirt a little by implying some stuff about the future & what their married life could be like, and they have some conversations about that. and sure, she has some family baggage, but none of them are around so it's a lot easier to ignore, y'know? so eventually he just can't take it anymore, and he shoots his shot. she clearly values honesty so he explains his scruples as well, but he thinks she's been dropping some favourable signals, so he's got a good chance, right?

and then not only she turns him down she ROASTS THE FUCK OUT OF HIM. she insults him. she insults his honour as a gentleman. she flips the fuck out about... oh yeah crap the sister thing, turns out his cousin blabbed, and then I'M SORRY YOU SAID WHAT? ABOUT WICKHAM? THIS IS ABOUT FUCKING WICKHAM, MY FUCKING NEMESIS? HE FUCKING SAID WHAT ABOUT.... OH MY GOD. oh fuck. I've fucked up so badly I need to reevaluate my entire life & risk sending a letter to an unmarried woman who hates my guts, just so i can explain shit. fuck.

Random ask! What was your favorite show(s) as a kid?

Ooh, well, it depends what you mean by "kid" and by "show" (i.e., TV or theatre), but Grease was a big fave in the latter category all through elementary school! I still know most of the songs that didn't make it into the movie ("All Choked Up"!) and even attempted to learn some of them on the guitar (I did not, but I tried). Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was another one that got a lot of play, and Fiddler on the Roof and Sound of Music were also big. My sisters and I also loved 1776!

If you meant TV shows, we didn't actually watch a ton of TV until my parents got cable when I was maybe in middle school. But I loved Bill Nye and the Magic School Bus reruns and VHS tapes, and later Lizzie McGuire and to a lesser extent Even Stevens (although I definitely know the songs from the musical episode!) once we started getting the Disney Channel. Boyfriend and I watched a really fun documentary during COVID called The Orange Years, and I was surprised how few of the Nickelodeon series highlighted in it were mainstays. Rugrats and Doug, sure, but I never watched any of those live-action ones besides All That, and both Rocko and Ren & Stimpy still weird me tf out as an adult.
