ひとつ面白いことがあるのですが、自転車のことを生業にしている人たち、製造している人たちから、雑誌に書いている人たち、本を出している人たち、問屋の人たち、インプレ・ライダーに、私はこういう質問をして見ます。

「７０年代にHONDAが輸入した、モザンビーク製、マレーシア製のフレームに東欧製のペダルやタイヤの、どうしようもない安物のRALEIGHでない、本物の真正英国ロードスター��乗ったことがあるか？あるいは所有してみて長距離を乗ってみたことがあるか？たとえば、ラッジ・エアロとかドーズとか英国王室御用達のジェームズとか。」答えは９９．９９９９％の人がNOです。

「１９２０～１９３０年代の別種のドロップハンドルである、ラウッターワッサー・バーで固定ギアの車輌に長距離乗ってみたことがあるか？」答えは９９．９９９９％の人がNOです。

こういう人たちは「R&Fさんは古いのばっかり乗っていますけど、自分は蘭度奈ーとかいろいろ乗ってみましたが、今はカーボンですね。」という答えが多いようです。蘭度奈ーもロードもどちらもヘッドアングルは７２～７３度。どちらもドロップ。蘭度奈ーの変速器のサンプレももとはロード用。ラージ・フランジ・ハブもロード用。サドルもロード用。つまり蘭度奈ーは「タイヤが太くて、効かないフランスのブレーキが付いて、暗いダイナモと、泥よけが付いたロード」のようなものだと、おおざっぱに言うとそういう風に自分には思えます。

私はそこで、「しかし」と思うのです。私は小系車はモニュメント博士の「灯台」まで、初期型のスタンダード、デラックス、からほぼ全車種乗っています。彼らが乗ってみたか？というとそういう体験はない。私はアルミのTCRもカーボン・ファイバー・モノコックも、カウリング付きのカーボン・リカンベントも英国で乗っています。最近のモデルもあちこちで比較のために試乗しています。「古いのばっかり」とかいうのはこれもまた言いがかりだろうと思うのです。

日本で「自転車に詳しいマニア」と言われる人の多くの道筋は、まずメーカー車のドロップハンドルのスポーツ車に乗り、そこからスポルテイーフ、蘭度名ーへと乗り継いで行き、その先でスポルテイーフからロードへ乗り換え、そのロードの先でアルミとかカーボンとかのフレームにたどり着いた人がほとんどのようです。もうひとつ別の系統は、MTBから始まってさまざまに乗り継いで来た人たち。どちらの道筋を辿ってきても、「本当に乗りやすい高級アップハンドルの車輌を所有し、使ってみた体験・知識・経験はほぼ絶無」というのが、わかると思います。

そういう人たちがアップハンドルやフラットハンドルの自転車を作ると、ロードやスポルテイーフ、蘭度奈ーに一文字ハンドルを入れたようなトンチンカンなものになってしまう。これでは「ドロップの真っ直ぐな部分しか持てない自転車を作った」のと同じことで、スリーポジションのドロップハンドルの車輌より劣ったものになるのは当然です。

９８００円のホームセンターのママサイクルにドロップハンドルを入れても、まともなドロップのライデイング・ポジションが出ないのと同様に、スポルテイーフや蘭度奈ーのフレームにいくら一文字ハンドルを入れても、まともな乗り��にはなりません。それでもそうした自転車にハンドルだけ差し替える人が絶えないのは、いかに「アップハンドルにはアップハンドルの専用設計が必要」という「基本の『き』」が理解されていないことの証拠でしょう。

サイクリングの途中、９８％はフーデットレバーの手前かブラケットを持っています。ならば、ワンポジションのハンドルと大差ないのではないか？逆に以下の諸点は圧倒的にアップハンドルが有利です。

１）上半身が起きているので、前方視界が良く、混んだ街中でも楽。緊急回避能力はドロップよりはるかに高い。

２）上半身が起きているため、背骨の軟骨が固くなり始めている中高年には後ろを振り返る動作がはるかに楽で、安全である。ドロップで前傾した姿勢で後方を振り返る３５歳以上の人は、後ろから見ると、ほとんどのひとが大きく蛇行しています。しかし、自分では自分のこうした加齢変化を自覚していない。

３）ドロップハンドルで前傾姿勢をとると、骨盤も前傾し、男性機能をつかさどる海綿体の根元部分が、サドルで一番細い部分に押し当てられるカタチとな��、毛細血管に恒常的なダメージをうける危険がはなはだしく増大する。ドロップハンドルとEDの関係は以前にアメリカのバイシクリング誌に特集されたことがある。この点アップハンドルは骨盤の両端で体重を受けるので「この部分への体重と衝撃の直撃は避けられる」。

また、BROOKSが「独立」を保っていた頃、自転車初心者のヘリコプター関係者が大株主になったり、取締役が全員イタリア人になったりするはるか以前のカタログには、B17は長距離で楽なロード用サドル、プロフェッショナルは高回転型のロードサドルと説明があり、プロフェッショナルは長距離ではなく短距離回転型のためのサドルであることがわかります。では英国ではどのくらいが高回転なのか？日本では毎分９０回転などと良く雑誌に書いてありますが、私が一緒に走ったことのある英国のジム・グルーバーは平地で普通に毎分１６０～１８０、記録では毎分２００回転を越えたことがあると言っていました。そういう世界のサドルを付けてオールラウンダーのハンドルバーにして、上半身の体重を股間前方の海綿体下部にかけるのは、たいへん身体に、男性機能に悪い。これではドロップハンドルのブレーキ操作が、加齢で前傾がつらくなってやりづらいので、そこだけ修整した、と思われてもしかたがないでしょう。

そうかと言って、そこでアップハンドルを入れると、ハンドルと膝が近くなりすぎて乗れません。ステムを伸ばすと、ハンドルを切った感覚がおかしくなり、とても時速４０ｋｍ～６０ｋｍプラスで山道の下りを走れるような操舵性能にまとめられない。サドルもドロップ用のポジションなので、膝の開度も具合が悪い。マニアたるものがそういう物に乗っていては、後進のお手本にならない。それはいかなる高級フレームであろうと、凝った部品が付こうが、長年やっていようが「自転車を知らない」との烙印を押されてもしかたがないと思います。

写真は私が中学の頃、父と勉強小屋、自転車小屋を庭に建て、そこへ自転車３台（宮田一台、オーダー車２台）を入れていた頃の写真です。実用車は丸石のプラスチックフェンダーとチェンケースのもので、通学に使っていました。ブレーキレバーの台座がチネッリのようにロウ付けされていたり、なかなか凝っていました。この写真の２年後、これは英国のロードスターになりました。それ以前、小学校６年のころ、すでにBSAの戦前のロードスターに乗った経験があったので、私の自転車歴は、その一番最初から、ドロップとアップハンドルの２本立てであったわけです。

白黒の写真のものは出来立ての頃。お小遣いが足りなくて、ダイナモもクリップも付いていません。その後、中学１年ですでにナベラグにカンパのストレートドロップアウトのエンドにカンパアダプターをつけてアルビー。これはアルビーはカンパの初期ストレートエンドにあわせると別物のように良く変速します。２台上下にある下のほうはT社のオリジナル５ｍｍ厚エンドにアルビーでしたが、納車１週間でうんざりしたほど変速器が調子が出ない。取り付け位置が遠すぎる設計。フリーはカイミ・エベレスト、サドルはブロンズバッジのブルプロ、パトロードのストラップと言う生意気ぶり。しかし、いいオヤジとなった今、これからは年齢を重ねた者にしかできないスタイルを作りたいと思う。いまさら中学生時代にやっていたことに戻りたいとは思いません。この当時、ダークグリーンのオーダー車というのは自転車界に絶無で、見たことがありませんでした。親方にも「ホントにそんな色にするの？」と念を押されました。故DZ氏は私のこの車輌を週に一回ほど見ていましたので、彼がベニックスをグリーンにした時「真似されたぁ！」と思いました。

そしていまや、「レースに出る人以外はドロップはカッコだけで不要」と思うまでになってしまいました（笑）。

Dua orang penadah tersebut diantaranya, Hendri Purwanto (32) warga Dusun Bantur Timur, Desa, Kecamatan Bantur dan Lukman (31) warga Dusun Jubel, Desa Kecamatan Bantur. Mereka diamankan pada Jumat (11/1/2019). [irp] Kanit Reskrim Polsek Turen, Iptu Hari Eko Utomo menjelaskan, aksi pencurian itu diketahui terjadi pada Kamis (29/11/2018) sekitar pukul 14.15 WIB. Adapun korban yang menjadi sasaran keduanya, Leny Avida (42) warga Desa Sawahan, Kecamatan Turen. "Pelaku masuk ke dalam rumah dan mengambil sepeda motor, diduga dengan cara melalui pintu ruang tamu, menuju halaman belakang kemudian mengambil sepeda motor dan dibawanya pergi dengan cara merusak gembok pintu pagar," kata Hari, Sabtu (12/1/2019). Tidak hanya menggondol satu unit motor, pelaku membawa kabur dua unit motor sekaligus. Masing-masing Suzuki FU B 6718 SLV dan Honda Vario N 4151 DZ. "Dari hasil penyelidikan, diperoleh informasi apabila salah satu sepeda yang hilang, Suzuki FU, berada di wilayah Bantur dalam penguasaan tersangka Hendri. Dengan pola penyamaran kemudian dilakukan transaksi oleh petugas, sehingga tersangka berhasil diamankan sekaligus barang bukti tanpa plat nomor," imbuh Hari. [irp] Setelah membekuk pelaku Hendri, petugas melakukan pengembangan. Hendri mengaku membeli motor dari Lukman. Dari situ petugas kemudian menangkap pelaku Lukman. "Dari hasil pengembangan saat itu juga berhasil diamankan tersangka Lukman dirumahnya, yang diduga telah menjual sepeda motor Suzuki FU kepada tersangka Hendri. Dari keterangan Lukman, bahwa motor tersebut dibeli dari seseorang yang tidak dikenal," ungkap Hari. Petugas Unit Reskrim Polsek Turen sendiri saat ini masih mendalami perkara curanmor tersebut. Sementara akibat perbuatannya, kedua pelaku yang telah diamankan akan dijerat Pasal 363 KUHP subsider 480 KUHP tentang pencurian kendaraan bermotor. (DHI/AL)

Lucky Draw

Winners of the Prizes shall ensure that they remain contactable at all times and can reply by email or by phone within 7 calendar days from the date of the announcement in order to arrange delivery or collection of the prize. If no response is received within 7 calendar days (including weekend days and public holidays) from the announcement and/or from the first contact attempt, the prize will be transferred as cash to any of his/her trading account, except ECN. No extension or replacement will be entertained. Exness has the right at its sole discretion at any time, and without notice, to substitute any Prize with another Prize of similar value and/or specification. tobasatu.com, Medan | Dua sindikat jaringan internasional yang berhasil diungkap oleh Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN), Elpi Darius dan Junaidi Siagian alis Edi (berkas terpisah) terancam hukuman mati. Keduanya didakwa karena terbukti mengedarkan sabu 53 kilogram.

Dalam persidangan di Ruang Cakra V Pengadilan Negeri (PN) Medan, Rabu (13/2/2019), Jaksa Penuntut Umum (JPU) Rahmi Shafrina menjelaskan bahwa pada tanggal 29 September 2018, seorang pria WN Malaysia dipanggil Bang menelpon Junaidi dan menyuruhnya menyewa kapal boat untuk menjemput sabu sebanyak 50 bungkus ke Portklang, Malaysia.

“Junaidi dijanjikan mendapat upah sebesar Rp50 juta. Kemudian, Junaidi kembali disuruh untuk menelpon Darwin yang merupakan tekong kapal boat (belum tertangkap),” kata JPU dihadapan majelis hakim yang diketuai oleh Morgan Simanjuntak.

Selanjutnya, Junaidi menyewa kapal boat orang Tanjungbalai bernama Mak Feri sebesar Rp25 juta dan uangnya ditransfer oleh orang Malaysia tersebut ke rekening temannya bernama Febri (belum tertangkap). Junaidi mengambil uang pada Febri kemudian menelpon Darwin dan memberitahu kalau sudah dapat sewa kapal boat di Tanjungbalai.

“Pada tanggal 30 September 2018 jam 15.21 wib, terdakwa Elpi menelepon Darwin. Sekitar jam 20.00 wub, Darwin datang ke Tanjungbalai mengambil kapal boat langsung berangkat ke Potrklang, Malaysia untuk menjemput sabu tersebut,” ujar Rahmi.

Kemudian, pada tanggal 3 Oktober 2018 sekira jam 09.00 wib, Darwin menelpon Junaidi memberitahu kalau kapal boatnya rusak sehingga sabu tersebut diturunkan di Tanjung Sarang Elang, Labuhanbatu. Darwin menyuruh Junaidi untuk mengambilnya disana.

“Lalu, Febri menelpon Junaidi agar menemui di rumahnya. Febri menyerahkan kunci mobil Honda CRV BK 630 DZ, uang sebesar Rp5 juta dan 1 unit hape Nokia warna biru. Febri mengatakan agar sabu itu dijemput menggunakan mobil dan apabila ada yang menelpon ke hape Nokia warna biru tersebut angkat saja,” pungkas JPU.

Dilanjutkan Rahmi, sabu itu rencananya untuk diantarkan kepada pemesan di Medan. Kemudian, Junaidi menelpon Elpi Darius untuk menemui dan menyuruhnya mencari supir. Tak lupa, Junaidi memberikan kunci mobil dan uang sejumlah Rp300 ribu untuk isi bensin.

Terdakwa Elpi lalu mendatangi Syahrial (berkas terpisah) dan menyerahkan kunci mobil. Junaidi kemudian dijemput keduanya dan langsung berangkat untuk menjemput sabu tersebut. Setelah sabu yang disimpan ke dalam 6 jerigen itu dimasukkan ke mobil, lalu Elpi Darius, Junaidi dan Syahrial berangkat ke Medan dengan jalur Rantau Prapat-Brastagi.

“Di perjalanan, hape Nokia warna biru yang dipegang Junaidi berdering. Yang menelpon bernama Zainal Abidin alias Zainal (berkas terpisah). Zainal mengatakan di Medan yang menerima sabu itu nanti bernama Bahlia Husen alias Iwan (berkas terpisah),” lanjutnya.

Sayangnya, saat melintas di kawasan Pancurbatu, mobil yang dikendarai para sindikat narkoba jaringan internasional ini diikuti petugas BNN. Petugas BNN sudah mengetahui akan terjadi transaksi narkoba yang dilakukan mereka.

Kejar-kejaran pun terjadi. Hingga akhirnya, mobil mereka berhasil dihentikan di Jalan Brigjen Zein Hamid, Kelurahan Titi Kuning, Kecamatan Medan Johor. Perbuatan kedua terdakwa sebagaimana diatur dan diancam pidana Pasal 114 ayat (2) jo Pasal 132 (1) UU RI Nomor 35 Tahun 2009 Tentang Narkotika dengan ancaman hukuman mati.(ts-06)
