Security is another major driver of the home automation market. Consumers are increasingly investing in smart security systems, including cameras, door locks, motion sensors, and alarm systems, which provide real-time monitoring and alerts, enhancing the safety of their homes. These systems can be controlled and monitored remotely, offering peace of mind to homeowners whether they are at home or away.
Home automation works by integrating various household devices and systems into a centralized control system that can be managed remotely or automatically. The key components of a home automation system include sensors, actuators, controllers, communication networks, and user interfaces. Here’s a detailed explanation of how these components work together to create a smart home environment:
Key Components of Home Automation
Sensors: Sensors are devices that detect changes in the environment and provide information to the home automation system. Common types of sensors include motion detectors, temperature sensors, humidity sensors, light sensors, and door/window sensors. For example, a motion sensor can detect movement in a room and send a signal to the controller.
Actuators: Actuators are devices that perform actions based on commands from the controller. They can control various household appliances and systems, such as turning lights on or off, adjusting the thermostat, or locking/unlocking doors. Actuators receive signals from the controller and execute the desired action.
Controllers: The controller, often referred to as the hub or gateway, is the central unit that manages the communication between sensors, actuators, and the user interface. It processes the information received from sensors and sends commands to actuators. Controllers can be standalone devices or integrated into other smart home devices like smart speakers.
Communication Networks: Home automation systems rely on various communication protocols to enable devices to communicate with each other and with the controller. Common protocols include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and proprietary RF (radio frequency) technologies. These networks ensure reliable data transmission between devices.
User Interfaces: User interfaces allow homeowners to interact with their home automation system. These interfaces can be in the form of mobile apps, web interfaces, voice assistants (such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Siri), and physical control panels. Through these interfaces, users can monitor, control, and configure their smart home devices.
How Home Automation Works:
Device Integration: Various smart devices and appliances are integrated into the home automation system. This includes lights, thermostats, security cameras, door locks, appliances, and entertainment systems. Each device is equipped with sensors and/or actuators and is connected to the controller via a communication network.
Monitoring and Data Collection: Sensors continuously monitor the environment and collect data. For example, a temperature sensor measures the room temperature, while a motion sensor detects movement. This data is transmitted to the controller in real-time.
Data Processing and Decision Making: The controller processes the data received from sensors and makes decisions based on pre-set rules, user preferences, or machine learning algorithms. For example, if the motion sensor detects movement in the living room, the controller might decide to turn on the lights.
Action Execution: Based on the controller’s decisions, commands are sent to actuators to perform specific actions. Actuators then execute these actions, such as adjusting the thermostat, turning on/off lights, or locking/unlocking doors.
User Interaction: Homeowners can interact with the system using various user interfaces. Through a mobile app, they can monitor the status of their smart devices, receive alerts (e.g., if a door is left open), and control devices remotely. Voice commands can also be used to control devices through smart speakers.
Automation and Scheduling: Users can set up automation rules and schedules to automate routine tasks. For example, they can create a schedule to turn off all lights at midnight or set a rule to adjust the thermostat when no one is home. Automation reduces the need for manual intervention and enhances convenience.
Remote Access and Control: Home automation systems typically offer remote access capabilities, allowing users to control and monitor their home from anywhere using an Internet connection. This is particularly useful for managing security systems, adjusting climate control, or checking on the home while away.

Make your home smart with these lighting system
Bright lighting is a great place to start if you want to make your home smarter. These systems are easy to set up and use and could completely change any room in your house. However, they are more expensive than regular LED light bulbs.
The manufacturers below offer a wide range of sizes and shapes, so you should be able to find suitable intelligent bulbs for your smart home among them. But before you buy a system, you should look at the fixtures you already have in your home to see if the system you're thinking about will work with them.
Ikea Tradfri
Ikea's Tradfri smart light bulbs cost as little as $20 each, and a starter kit with two bulbs, a wireless dimmer switch, and the gateway you need to connect the lamps to your router costs less than $100. In addition to the attractive Edison-style bulb with an artificial filament, the line includes motion sensors for LED countertop lighting, smart plugs, and a variety of bulb fitment options.
If you already have a Philips Hue system and want to add more lights without spending much money, you could buy color bulbs from Ikea. In addition to the Ikea Home app for iOS and Android, you can now control your Tradfri light bulbs with Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple HomeKit.
Like other intelligent lighting systems, the app lets you group the bulbs into rooms. This enables you to control the lighting in a whole area with the swipe of a finger. You could also tell your voice assistant, "Hey Google, turn on the kitchen lights," or "Alexa, turn off the bedroom lights." In addition, you can customize your system with features like motion detectors and floating light panels.
Sengled
Connectivity Standard Alliance's Zigbee intelligent home standard, Bluetooth Mesh, and Wi-Fi are all supported by the Sengled line of intelligent lights. A single warm white light costs about $10, but a bulb that looks like a candle and has different colors costs $45. Sengled has bright outdoor lights that can withstand the weather and have built-in motion sensors. It also has smart plugs, wall switches, and sensors for doors and windows that sound an alarm when they are opened. Zigbee hubs are needed to connect devices that use the Zigbee protocol, so keep that in mind. On the other hand, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth bright lighting from Sengled don't need a central hub to work.
We tested the company's motion-detecting Smart LED bulb and liked how easy it was to set up. In the performance section of the app used to control the bulbs, you can see how much energy each one uses. This is great for people who want to save money on their monthly power bills. The outdoor motion-detecting light bulb costs $29.99, and so does the hub. But since you only need one corner, your initial cost goes down as you add more lights.
TP-Link Kasa Smart Lights
In 2019, TP-expanded Link's Kasa intelligent home device catalog was a good choice for people who want to set up a smart home system but don't want too many options. This company makes all kinds of light bulbs, from LEDs with many colors to filament lights that look old.
You don't need a hub or Bridge because these lights connect directly to your Wi-Fi router and can be set up and managed with the free Kasa app for iOS and Android smartphones. The bulbs can be controlled by voice through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and they have a mode called "circadian" that makes minor changes to the light and temperature throughout the day to make it feel like daylight.
Philips Hue by Signify
Philips Hue from Signify, widely seen as the market leader, has a wide range of bulbs with different bases to ensure they work with your current lighting system. There are also LED light strips, ceiling fixtures, and lamps for sale, some of which can be moved around and run on batteries.
The Hue product line also includes dimmers, motion sensors that turn on lights when you walk by (applicable in the bathroom at night), and waterproof lights made just for the garden.
Remember that you need the Bridge for your Hue lights to work. This is required to set up and use in the mornings, but only one is needed per home (or for every 50 lights and accessories). So, it would help if you got a Hue starter pack, which comes with bulbs, a bridge, and sometimes a wireless dimmer switch.
C by GE is now Cync, GE Lighting's Smart Lighting System.
The GE Lighting smart bulbs were first called "C by GE." Since Savant Home Systems bought GE Lighting, the company has changed the name of its innovative lighting products to Sync.
Over the past year, Cync has added more intelligent lighting products, such as smart switches that let you change the brightness of your lights, turn them on and off, and cycle through different lighting scenarios. In addition to intelligent light strips, switches, and plugs, they also have smart thermostats and security cameras.
With Google's help, the company's lights can now be controlled directly by the Google Home smart speaker and the Google Nest Hub bright display. They are also easy to set up with your Google Home or Nest device.

WHAT IS LPWAN- LOW POWER WIDE AREA NETWORK?
LPWAN is a communication method between linked devices that was founded and developed by Sigfox. The fundamental advantage of LPWAN is that it permits low-bit-rate communication among devices dispersed across a large geographical area.
LPWAN refers to a set of communication technologies (Sub 1GHz, NB-IoT, LTE CAT M, ZIGBEE) used to link devices, sensors, actuators, controllers, and so on. The goal of creating a low power wide area network is to create a communication channel for the Internet of Things network that uses less power and has a lower data rate.
LPWAN TYPES
RF SUB-1 GHZ
Sub-1 GHz RF, as the name implies, operates at low-frequency ranges less than 1 GHz. It operates in the ISM band, which has a frequency range of less than one gigahertz. This technology is mostly relevant for RF IoT applications. Some of its advantages are as follows:
Sub-1 GHz RF has a greater range while using the same output power. Because of its vast range, it can go more than 100 kilometres.
Power usage is quite low.
Ability to deal with interference more effectively.
NB-IOT
NBIoT, or Narrowband IoT LTE, is a self-contained LPWAN technology. It enables the mass deployment of IoT devices. NB-IoT is often used to transport data at a low frequency. When a message is sent via NB-IoT, it consumes very little bandwidth. Among the advantages of NB-IoT are:
It uses less energy.
Cost-efficient.
It is safe to use.
Devices can be deployed in bulk.
Excellent choice for embedded sensors.
CAT-M1 OR LTE-M?
CAT M is another LPWAN technology that operates on 1.4 MHz of bandwidth. It enables higher total data rates, more location accuracy, and shorter latency. It allows voice calls and mobility mode. CAT M has the following advantages:
The maximum data rate is 375kbps.
VoLTE functionality is supported.
There is complete mobility assistance provided.
LTE in-band mode of operation
ZIGBEE
The IEEE 802.15.4 standard is used to operate ZIGBEE networks. It’s appropriate for high-level communication protocols. It is primarily intended for small-scale IoT projects for personal use, such as home automation, where wireless communication is required. ZIGBEE has the following advantages:
It supports several network topologies.
Battery life is extended.
Spectrum of direct sequence spread
Latency is low.
LORAWAN
LoRaWAN is a well-known worldwide standard for LPWAN networks based on LoRa technology. The LoRaWAN standard for low-power wireless networks was created to link devices that run on batteries. LoRaWAN allows for highly seamless information transfer over the internet between smart devices without the need for complicated installations. Some of the advantages of LoRaWAN include:
The device linked to the LoRaWAN network may send data from a distance of 1 km to 10 km.
Because AES128 is used between network servers and end nodes, it enables high-security data encryption.
A single Lora Gateway may connect thousands of devices.
Because of the adjustable data rates, it consumes less bandwidth.
LoRaWAN’s basic architecture makes it simple to deploy.
LPWAN BENEFITS
The following are the advantages of LPWAN technology:
Less power consumption: LPWAN operates at extremely low power consumption.
Long-distance transmission: LPWAN permits device connectivity across distances of up to 20 kilometres.
Long battery life: Because LPWAN requires less power, the gadget battery may last for more than ten years.
Reduced Gateways: Because LPWAN permits device connectivity over greater distances, fewer gateways are needed for communication.
CONCLUSION
LPWAN technology is a remarkable technology that is revolutionising the way IoT devices communicate. If you have a project that requires LPWAN technology, PsiBorg an IoT solutions development company can assist you. We are a group of skilled developers with extensive expertise integrating multiple LPWAN technologies. Please contact us immediately for further information.

1. SimpliSafe Wireless Home Security System – Best Home Security Starter Kit
SimpliSafe Wireless Home Security System
Named "the best home security system" by the Wirecutter and Editors' Choice for Home Security by CNET and PC Magazine,...
24/7 professional monitoring & police dispatch for $14.99/month with no contract.
Parallel WiFi and cellular connections run to 24/7 alarm monitoring and police dispatch, meaning your home is protected...
Check Price
We know how complicated the process of installing a security system is. The SimpliSafe kit makes the process easier. Probably, it is the most easy to set up home security system we have evaluated. There is voice as well as text form of prompts to help you through the installation.
Our first test was to understand how easy it is to pair a sensor with the system. Our team loved the fact that, with only a push of a button on the sensor pairs it with the system. You can also name the sensor using the given key pad. You can either use the preset names or create your own custom name. However, you will have to figure out the best spots to fix the sensors.
Apparently, the system has testing mode that allows you to check if all the devices are connected. After you are sure of connections, you can arm the device with simple “away” button. By the way, to disarm the system, there is separate “home” button like most of the home security devices.
Once the system was installed, our team checked how it responds to intrusion. However, we cannot trip a alarm knowingly. We had to rely on the information offered by the manufacturer.
Biggest positive about the system is that it is invisible. Hence, chances are intruder won’t even notice. On intrusion, alarm is triggered and base station is notified and which further notifies monitoring device like your phone. However, our team did felt that if the Wi-Fi or the GSM connectivity is weak, signal might have higher response time.
With basic configuration, you can only monitor, and manage the account. For more services like 911 police response you require SimpliSafe subscription that starts for $15 per month.
Things We Like
Very easy to Install using voice or text guided installation procedure.
Design blends with the interior and makes it invisible.
Connects with smart devices like Alexa.
Low cost home monitoring services.
No contracts.
Things We Don't Like
Subscription is required.
Phone integration is limited.
Bottom Line
If your are looking for a home monitoring services with low cost subscription, SimpliSafe certainly beats most of its competitors.

The Abode has a wide range of hardware which includes sensors, power outlets, cameras, alarms and many more. Well, buying the complete range will definitely break your bank. So Abode has introduced a starter kit that makes you familiar to the Abode ecosystem of home security.
The starter kit includes a gateway, 2-door or window contact sensor, a remote key fob, and a motion camera.
Though the gateway looks like old router without antenna, system’s best quality lies under the hood. It supports WiFi, Abode RF, Z-Wave, and Zigbee which allows the gateway to connect wide range of sensors, controllers and power outlet. It can connect up to 155 devices and in addition, it support Google Assistant and Alexa.
Our team timed the process of installation, from placing and connecting the sensors and arming it for the first time. It took us no less than 30 minutes. It might go even lower, if you have small house and you already know where to fix the sensors.
Upon intrusion, the notification is almost instantaneous. We tested its motion sensors with different array of light conditions. They are equally sensitive to any light conditions. The camera captures good quality pictures which can be easily be used as proof in case of intrusion.
It is among the best home security system that offers professional monitoring services. They have variety of plans that start from $30 per month. You can also get a optional cellular connection worth $10 per month for better connectivity.
Things We Like
Great connectivity with even third party devices.
Supports almost 200 devices.
Supports voice control via Alexa or Google Home.
Long range connectivity.
Things We Don't Like
Gateway design gives a cheap look.
Cameras offer low resolution pictures for distant objects.
Bottom Line

Buying the best home security system could be expensive, but it doesn’t mean you can’t have it. A system like Ring Alarm professional monitoring system gives you all the basic services of an security system but a reasonable prices.
Overall it is an attractive package, it includes a base station, a motion sensor, a contact sensor and a range extender. Even the tools required for mounting are included in the package. Our team was able to set the Ring Alarm home security system with in half an hour. We felt, that base station has very good looking design. It can either be fixed on the wall or can be put on the table.
There is no ethical way to know how the system will perform on serious instrusion. But most of the user have positive things to say about it. However, we did test out the contact sensors. This contact sensor alerts you when a certain door is opened without allowing alarming the person opening the door.
Using the Ring Alarm app you can see how many times a door has been opened or you can monitor the camera feeds. Interface of the app is really neat. All the information is color coded. For our team, it was really easy to tell which sensor was working or was tripped without reading the manual. That’s how easy it is to read the app.
You are required to pay $10 per month for professional monitoring services which also includes access to camera feeds.
Things We Like

Check Price
Wink Lookout Security Starter kit is one of the most affordable kit among the best home security system. However, it doesn’t have the professional monitoring system that you get with say a SimpliSafe or Abode. Another way to look at it is you don’t have to pay additional cost for any monitoring services.
As far as the built quality is concerned, it is ok. It could be better. But sensors are on par with the best home security system kits.
The package itself is basic which includes a base system, a alarm or siren, a motion sensor, and two contact sensor. It uses an app to monitor the devices. However, the devices cannot be controlled by the app. Setting up the system is really easy. It hardly takes more than 30 minutes. Our team followed the instruction, and system was ready to be used withn in 20 minutes.
When we were testing, we simulated several conditions that it could face like weak signals, or a dead sensor. In such cases you can see if the device is offline or the whole system is offline. As there is no professional monitoring services, you only get the data to your phone. Next step of calling cops or entering the disarm code is on you.
Next we tested the device for integration using smart devices like Alexa, Google Home, Ecobee, Ring, Nest etc. It works with every smart device.
Things We Like
It supports more smart devices than most of the security systems.
Very easy to install.
No additional costs.
You can add devices of third party with ease.
Things We Don't Like
Might not handle security as well as other dedicated security systems.
Bottom Line
If you are looking a system that does not come with monthly charges and also doesn’t cost you much up front, then just go for this product. But we believe it is not as good as dedicated home security systems.
5.Scout Alarm Home Security System- Most Easy to Use Home Security System
Scout Alarm Home Security System
Month-to-month monitoring, no long-term contracts
Seamless do-it-yourself installation
Customizable to fit your home and your lifestyle
Check Price
We cannot for sure say it is the most budget friendly or the best home security system, but based on our experience with system, we found that it was easy to set up system among all. And we know not everyone is tech savvy, if you are spending your hard earned money on something, it should be easy to use. Hence, we thought this product should be on our list.
As far as the performance of the system is concerned, it did the job. The whole package comes with two contact sensor, one motion sensor and a hub. Like any other security system, it is controlled by an app.
Biggest drawback we found with it is, it cannot be activated until you sign up for a monthly monitoring service. However, the service is really good. And it gives several modes of operation. When our team was going through the app control, we loved the fact that we were able to set the door or window sensors active when home was occupied without triggering the alarm.
Things We Like
Very easy to set up.
Integrates with most of the smart devices.
App allows you to control the devices in much better way.
Can be easily expanded.
Things We Don't Like
Needs monthly subscription to use it.
Bottom Line
Overall, the device has good performance and easy set up. But if you are not a tech savvy individual and need something that you can control with ease, then it is perfect home security system for you.

There are different types of security system just based on the type of installation. There are two type of installation:
ProfessionalDIY
In professional installation, you pay for the technician to visit your house. They not only advice you on the security ecosystem for you house but also install the system for you. After installation, they walk you through the features and use of the system. Of course using a professional installation not only saves time but also saves you from the trouble of learning how to use a complicated network of security devices. As the name suggest, it is Do-It-Yourself security system. Most of the DIY security system have designs that are easy to understand and use. But there are few professional security systems that offer DIY installation as an option, they are sometimes really complicated. However, best of the DIY home security systems use very few tools and very little understanding. Though it says do it yourself, if you are not so comfortable with electronics and technology, it is better to hire professional who is comfortable.

Self MonitoringProfessional Monitoring
As the name suggest, you decide what happens once the alarm trips. You can either enter the code to silence the alarm or call the cops in case of intrusion. Because there is no one monitoring in behalf of you, these systems are cheaper. This option also helps you avoid the false alarms. In addition, you have an option of hiring monitoring services for temporary period. For instance, you are going for vacation, you hire the professional monitoring services to watch over your home.

If you are more concerned about the security of you and your family, always choose professional monitoring services. However, they will charge you a monthly fee. Ring Alarm Professional Monitoring has some of the lowest subscription plans. However, if you are confident enough to manage any kind of intrusion on your own, feel free to self monitor the security system.

You don’t have to get all the devices. If your requirement is basic and need a security system just for surveillance, go with starter kit. Starter kits include, couple of contact sensors, a motion sensor or a video camera. However, if you want to make your home intrusion proof and also want to monitor your kids or loved one; be it their health condition or movement, then you must get a full-blown security system. You can also get a basic station and then get the devices individual based on your need.

Global Internet of Things Market Expected to Witness the Highest Growth 2030
Pune, India, 9thJune, 2021: Global Internet of Things market accounted 169.8 million USD in 2020 and is predicted to reach 1060.2 million USD by 2030 with a CAGR of 20.10% during the forecast period. This information is published by “Decision foresight“, in its report, titled, “Global Internet of Things Market, 2020-2030.”Internet of Things has emerged as one of the most important technologies of the twenty-first century in recent years. Now that we can link common objects to the internet via embedded devices, including as kitchen appliances, automobiles, thermostats, and baby monitors, seamless communication between people, processes, and things is feasible.
Physical things can exchange and gather data with minimum human interaction thanks to low-cost computers, the cloud, big data, analytics, and mobile technologies. Digital systems can record, monitor, and adapt each interaction between linked items in today's hyperconnected environment. The physical and digital worlds collide and work together.
