#Holly Sutton

I have to say I am very concerned with the way the character of Holly Sutton is being written these days. Back in the 80's, Holly was one of my favorite characters. She and Robert were one of my favorite couples.

I am not against the idea of she and Robert having a child, in fact, I like the idea, however I don't like them splitting up one of my other favorite couples, Sasha and Cody. I can't see a way forward for them.

What I am troubled by is how the show is making her the town pariah. Holly has always been a con artist, that's for sure, but I can't imagine her being an unloving mother. After all, she helped raise Robin for years and Robin adores her, and now suddenly she's Mommie Dearest??

The writers are really changing up the show, getting rid of main characters while throwing in big time twists to the remaining characters lives.

I get that the new writers want to shake things up, but it is getting hard to keep up with all the changes in story lines and cast changes.

I hope the writers don't go to far in turning Holly into a villain. Emma Samms is still a favorite of mine and I hope she stays that way.

I’m unsure why Tristan is going. Maybe more budget cuts. I don’t know. But Robert and Holly getting a happy ending? I’m all for that. And I hope we get visits from them in the future.

How many people, particularly women and children, have been coerced to stay with an abusive person because they thought that love (something that is subjective) is enough.

Lots of General Hospital hate going around social media. My take is that we honestly do not know what goes on behind the scenes. Who knows what budget demands the powers that be impose on Frank Valentini. With a need to keep the show moving onward, they brought back Lucky, recast Lucas and Lulu. These people need to be paid, so obviously the money has to come from somewhere. Sam has a fan base, for sure. But have they really been using her much? Honestly no. Not saying she was the only character who could have been cut, but we also don’t know what negotiations entailed.

To say Valentini doesn’t care about veteran characters or the show’s history is absurd. He has made it possible to have people like Felicia, Mac, Lucy, Heather, Tracy, Holly, etc all be a part of the show, while helping to build newer characters to keep it fresh and moving forward.

You cannot ever please all of the fans all of the time. His and the other producers and writers have to just do their best. Let’s hope they do and the show can continue on for many years to come.

And as for the Holly/Sasha twist, it is out of the blue, but any way to keep her tied to the show is cool by me. And now both characters have a little more connection to others. Interesting bit of retcon, but they’re have frankly been more glaring retcons than this. As long as Sasha isn’t Robert’s daughter and she and Cody aren’t related, I’m cool with it.

so none of this is going be about Lulu. or Laura. or much else with Lucky. it was literally a vehicle to off Sam and to drag in Holly to give Sasha this very far fetched storyline.
