I was going to say what the hell does Gortash have against gnomes. It's not exactly a Gondian thing, because although Gond has significant sway with Gnomes, he is a 'human god' and this is a human city. Singling the gnomes out was odd.

And then it clicked, because of course he wants to see gnomes in particular imprisoned, enslaved, miserable and abused:

Nubaldin: 'I used to bruise my knuckles on his whimpering little face. I'd like to have snapped his neck! [...] I wish I could have seen him grovel and beg and bleed.'

The entire city suffers for the Flymm's shitty parenting, Raphael and his staff's godawful habits, and Enver's inability to process his trauma in a healthy manner. His living hell of a childhood is now everybody's living hell.
