Jim from TDS gets so fuzzy brained and dumb when heâs pounding into Y/N, because he wanted her for so long and he finally has her. he feels he deserves to have what he wants, and also making sure everyone knows she belongs to him.
Y/N could be either Jimâs sonâs gf/ex-gf, Jimâs daughterâs best friend, or Jimâs best friend đ«Ł
Btw youâre doing such a great job with your fics!!!
Warnings: Age gap (Jim is in his 40s, reader between 18-25), p in v, Jimâs a bad dad, unprotected sex, creampie, stalking social media, mentions of masturbating, taking inappropriate photos without consent, hickies
Thank you for the request I had a lot of fun with this! Hope you enjoy!â€ïž
Jim was reclined in his bed, his hand massaging his hardened member while he scrolled through social media photos of you. He was completely fucked ever since the day his son brought you home and may or may not have developed unhealthy coping mechanisms that his son had what he couldnât.
Even in his dreams he could see your attractive silhouette, continuously replaying fake scenarios of you straddling him, on your knees batting those innocent lashes up at him begging for his cock.
You had him wrapped around your fucking finger without even knowing, you were completely and utterly hypnotizing.
âFuck y/n..â He kept replaying a video on the beach, only thing covering you was a skimpy little bikini. Jim could just imagine what was underneath, reminiscing how even when he lay in the sun tanning chair, he couldnât help but snag a few photos when you werenât paying attention.
Position of you bent over picking up pebbles from the sand, when you came up for air from the water, specs of water droplets painting your chest, running down your cleavage.
He needed to have you, wanted to be entangled in the sheets with you, hearing you moan his name lustfully, screaming as he made you cum.
Your body was so young, hardly flawed, and had curves in all the right places. He hated to see you leave the house but loved to watch you walk away.
In the midst of coming to his high, the door slammed downstairs and he could hear yelling, what sounded to be you.
Curious, and for caution he pulled up his pants, huffing in irritation that he was interrupted from his intrusive, sexual imaginations.
âYou are such an ass! Just because I enjoyed an evening with my friends doesnât give you the right to go out with some random girls to some party and kiss them! Youâre ridiculous, did you even think about me for a singular moment?!â This was the moment Jim had been waiting for, as awful as it may sound, he wanted you two to break up. He wanted the opportunity to arise for him to be there when youâre upset, knowing that there was a chance for you two to be together.
Jim wasnât stupid, there were many times where you âaccidentallyâ brushed past him inappropriately, there were plenty of stolen glances and obscene gestures whenever his son Caleb wasnât around. You wanted him just as much, but due to your relationship with his son, you hadnât gone any further. Heâd constantly have to excuse himself to the restroom to deal with the repurcussions, seeking out a sweet release.
âYouâre over reacting, besides Iâve been meaning to put an end to this dwindling flame. We were never going to work so figured, why not just end it the easy way.â Jim was in shock that Caleb would do such a thing to a girl, especially you. He had taught him better than that, granted he did cheat on his mother but that was besides the point.
Hearing footsteps run up the stairs followed by a door slam, Jim poked his head out hearing your sniffles from downstairs. What kind of man would he be to not check in and ensure you were okay?
âY/N?â You were seated on the cushioned sofa, mascara flowing messly down your cheeks from weeping, but that voiceâŠthat masculine, caring, attractive voice had your glancing up from your emotional turmoil.
Jim was standing there in his pajama pants and black t-shirt, his reading glasses tucked in the hem of his shirt while his peppery hair was slightly disheveled.
âOh Iâm sorry, I was just going to head out. I didnât mean to wake you.â
âNo, no. Stay please. My sonâs an idiot and I can assure you I didnât raise him to be that way.â He took a seat next to you, trying to act concerned when in reality his eyes kept glancing at your thighs, the way your skirt hardly covered anything. Keep it together Jim, jesus.
The close proximity and the smell of Jimâs cologne was raising the tension, and an idea popped into your head. If Caleb thought he had the right to hurt you, you would hurt him ten times worse.
Jimâs crystal blue, alluring eyes were locked on your in a transfixed state of mind, heart pumping with adrenaline when he settled his hand on your thigh in a way to âcomfortâ you.
He was radiant, smart, and overwhelmingly attractive for a man in his forties. When he touched you, goosebumps formed on your skin, breath hitching in your throat. Was this a bad idea, most likely, but temptation and profound desire had a hold of you both.
âI um- I always thought you were a nice girl Y/N, and beautiful, kind, sexy- fuck what the fuck am I saying.â He wanted to hit himself for his stammering of words, rolling off his tongue without even thinking, but you simply laughed, blushing from his clear embarassment. When he tried to pull away his hand, you moved it back further up just nearly underneath your skit.
âJim, it doesnât bother me. Iâve always thought you were quite sexy too, I mean fuck youâre a total dilf and Iâve always imagined what you looked like underneath those clothes. How fucked up is that? My own boyfriend- well exâs dad.â You glanced down at the floor, eyes skimming the carpet trying to find a way to justify your feelings, that they werenât morally wrong.
Brushing a strand of hair behind your ear, he slid his finger down the length of your warm neck, gaining your attention.
There was a momentous silence as you stared into one another eyes, an immense sense of crave and desire coursing through your veins.
Closing the distance, you smashed your lips against Jimâs, hands settled on his cheeks needing him desperately. At that moment the air in the room seemed to disappear, the oxygen slowly didsapating from Jimâs lungs. He was in disbelief that this was actually happening, he was kissing his sonâs ex girlfriend who heâd been masturbating to all summer long.
Your lips were soft, smoothe, and you were surprisingly good at kissing for how young you were. Unable to resist, his tongue lapped inbetween your lips as he pulled you onto his lap, his hardened cock rutting against your dripping mound desperately needing you, forgetting Caleb was just upstairs.
He held you like a woman, his hands grasping at the chubby skin of your ass cheeks underneath your skirt, roaming and massaging the delicate skin roughly.
âFuck Y/N⊠you donât know how long Iâve waited for this momentâŠâ Your lips roamed down to the crook of his neck, sucking and rotating your tongue, surely leaving a mark causing him to release a disgruntled groan.
Your hands fumbled with his belt, craving to be filled with his cock while your pussy throbbed in your panties, slick merely dripping from your cunt.
Shedding yourself of your shirt, Jimâs eyes widened from the sight of your well rounded, perfect tits, they were everything he had imagined them to be and more.
His hands grasped the jiggly skin, eyes nearly rolling to the back of his head in satisfaction. Hold it together Jim, what would she think if you busted just from the sight of her fucking tits, pathetic man. Â
His brain seemed to turn to a puddle, any prior thoughts lost from your hypnotizing body. He had to have you right then and there.
âWell, are you going to fuck me or not, because I reallyâŠâ You trailed off you sentence, running a singular finger down his lip, eyes focused on him with a lustful gaze as you grinded against his lap, needing more.
âReally, need you inside me, my pretty pussy aches for you Jim.â Within second he flipped you onto your back, shedding himself of his clothes and tearing down your skirt and panties down in a animalistic frenzy.
He had never seen such a perfect cunt in his life, so in tact, so beautiful, and dripping for him, god how his dick was felt like it was going to burst any minute. His size took you by surprise, Jim wasnât small by any means, his cock a good eight maybe nine inches, this was going to be fun.
Your hand grazed the back of his neck, pulling him down just so your lips brushed against his ear.
âHope your cock is better than your sonâs, wouldnât want to be dissapointed.â He took that as a challenge, one that he knew very well he was going to win.
âMy son, doesnât seem to know how to pleasure his woman and Iâm going to make sure he and everyone else knows who fucked you right.â Your eyebrow quirked up in interest.
âWell go on then, fuck me like no other man could.â Jim had never been this nervous in his life to fuck a woman, but you- you he didnât want to leave unsatisfied.Â
He didnât even need to glance down before pushing the head of his thick shaft deep inside of you, claiming you as his.
You gasped from the sudden intrusion, nailâs scraping against the muscles on Jimâs back. He smirked satisfyingly, leaning down to kiss you once more, shoving his tongue roughly into your mouth, desperately needing to explore every inch of you, craving more and more.
He pumped quickly into you, patience being non existent, the feel of your hot, indisputably tight walls clenching to his length. Your boobs bounced with each powerful thrust. His lips trailed down to the warmth of your neck, tenderly sucking lavender marks into your smoothe skin, needing people to know who you belonged to now.
âOh Jim, more, more, pleaseâŠâ Oh the velvet, captivating sound of your strained moan had his horny brain whirling, eyes merely fluttering closed from the sweet descent of your exasperated tone.
Your pussy was throbbing from pleasure, being filled to the brim like no other man had fucked you before.
Your fingers intertwined in his hair, scrunching at his gray, partially wavy hair, pressing him against your body as he fucked you relentlessly. His free hand cusped at the cushiony skin of your boob, rolling the jelly like skin.
He needed to see you in another position, he need to see himself filling your cunt.
Standing up causing you to whine from the empty feeling, he picked you up with his strong arms effortlessly as if you weighed nothing before bending you over the sofa.
âOh!â Jim slapped your ass and pulled your head back aggresively by the strands of your hair, plumetting his cock into your heated, tight walls simultaneously.
âFuck! Fuck Jim! Ah!â He didnât hold back, striking deep within your aching core over and over, his balls slapping against your skin with each powerful thrust. He had never seen an ass bounce back against him so poetically and perfectly, he was nearly salivating on the mouth looking down at you bent over on display for him and only him. Watching your pussy swallow his dick with each desperate rut, god you were stunning.
Hearing you man his name and take his cock so well was sending him over the edge, his dick pulsating in you before he even had the chance to think.Â
As you pounded your ass back against him, your bottom lip was becoming increasingly swollen from how much your teeth had been biting at it from the immense pleasure.
âJesus, youâre fucking amazing, fucking beautiful, taking my cock so fucking well. Tell me who you belong to.â
âYou Jim. All yours, completely yours. I-Iâm going to-Ah-â He slapped your ass cheek fiercely once more, focusing on the way you moaned his name, the way your back arched as you came undone.
Your knuckes turning white from the grip they had on the cushioned surface, toes curling from your orgasm. The euphoric, alluring sensation taking over every part of your body.
That didnât stop Jim from going to pound town. Slamming your hips down against him, rutting desperately and bottoming out deep within your dripping, aching cunt. He wad close.
âGonna fucking cum- want me to fill you up love. Hm? Having my cum spilling out of you like a faucet for days.â You nodded desperately moaning for him to cum at the sound of his gruff voice
âJim, Jim, please. I need your cum, need you to paint my fucking insides white, right now. Now.â At that moment you could feel his thick cock pulsate within your core, his cum shooting straight up into your cervix.
âFuck, fuck y/n⊠Iâm fucking cumming.â The sweat beaded at your forhead, his own dripping down from his hair onto your back.
He had never felt a high so unfathomably pleasurable, he finally felt like he had accomplished what he always wanted- needed to. You were finally his.Â
Pulling out he stretched your cunt, pulling the sensitive, reddened skin apart with his large digits, seeing the art he had created with his milky white cum flowing freely out of your alluring pussy that was still twitching from your orgasm.
Caleb turned and twisted in his bed, the constant strange sounds keeping him up. Deciding to investigate, he grabbed the bat from his room before making his way downstairs only to be blindsided with his own dad intertwined with his now ex-girlfriend whom was covered with hickies on her neck
âWhat the fuck is this?! How did this-How could-â
âThatâs how you treat a woman son. Maybe take notes because let me tell you, sheâs a keeper this one.â You smirked on the couch, nuzzling your nose against his chest being fully happy with your decision to sleep with your exâs father. He was already proving to be more of a man than Caleb ever was.
âReady for bed love?â Jim held his hand out for you, wrapping his robe around your shoulders while Caleb stood there fuming at the actions of his own father and you, disbelief that youâd go this far, making him question if you ever really gave a shit about him or just dated him for his dad.

crowley's duties
crowley x reader
requested by: anonymous
summary: just the sweet stuff crowley does for you
warnings: just fluff
a/n: this is a new format for me, i've never really done it like this so i cannot for the life of me remember what the style is called. but i felt it was most appropriate format for this prompt, so enjoy!
-crowley as your boyfriend is an absolute dream
-your friends always tell you how jealous they are because their partners never did as much as he did
-he will always tell you how beautiful you look, no matter what you wear
-while his gestures are simple, they always make you swoon
-he'll open the car door for you before you can even think of doing it yourself
-similarly, he'll jog ahead of you to open any doors for you
-literally pique gentleman
-if you forget your umbrella and it starts raining, he will hold his over your head, not caring that his clothes are getting soaked
-on your birthday and other holidays, he goes all out for gifts
-anything that was mentioned in passing was carefully written down and you would have it by the end of the year. he made sure of it
-you'd be getting gifts on any random day too, it doesn't have to be special (because every day he has with you is special)
-"aw crowley, what's this for?"Â
-"well, i saw you looking at it the other day and figured i should get it for you"
-when he meets your parents, they absolutely love him
-he's super polite to them and you gush about how well he treats you
-after he is worried that he didn't do good enough but you assure him that they loved him
-which they had, because they reacted very differently to him than past partners they hatedÂ
-your mother even texts you to ask about updates, whether or not you've talked about marriage
-and when he does decide he wants to propose, he goes all out
-he even asked for your father's permission, despite you telling him you didn't care if he approved or not
-he takes you to a lovely beach and ahead of the sunset he sets up rose petals and a picnic blanket
-then as the sun sets he pulls out the most beautiful ring
-who would've thought you'd marry a demon? certainly not you
-but you best believe he won't ever stop opening doors or holding an umbrella over your head for you
-because, in his words,"it's my duty to you, love"

Half life 3âs credits roll. Earth is free, and even if the combine are not defeated, assurance and comfort is found in the fact that Earth is simply too insignificant to truly draw their gaze again.
As the credits go by, we are treated to a series of images showing the rebuilding of life on the new free earth. Specifically, Scenes of Gordon, Alyx, Shepherd, John, and the others with whom they formed a found family over the course of the third game, all working together to construct a communal home and plant fields of vegetables.
And then the credits end.
Darkness.
Soon, Gordon wakes up.
Remaining in first person perspective, we see Gordon rise, pawing for his glasses and slipping them on.
At long last, heâs out of the HEV suit, clad in an ordinary tshirt.
Itâs very early. The sun is only just rising. Heâs up before everyone else.
He gets dressed, and wanders downstairs, giving us a look at the home everyone has made. Scavenged but restored furniture, photos of the celebration after the final victory, the crowbar over the mantleâŠ
The stillness of being the only one awake.
Gordon cracks open the instant coffee can and stirs up a mug, taking a moment to take in the view out the window. The sun is rising gorgeously over the fields, and we know itâs over a planet that has seen the last of outside interference.
Gordon turns back around, and there, on the threadbare red sofa, is the G-man.
Gordon doesnât react. He merely takes a drink from his coffee. His visitor supplies a polite nod.
âHello there⊠Mister Freeman. I am glad to see you are comfortable.â The man in the suit offers the most natural smile he is capable of.
âAll is well that ends⊠well, as they say. I almost regret that this will be the last time we will ever meet.â
He rises from the sofa, briefcase in hand. Posture straight, he gestures with his free hand to a hinged wooden box on the table.
âMy employers are⊠most satisfied with the performance. From all of you. Things have all ended according to their designs. But it would have been impossible without your cooperation.
As a token of their gratitude, I am at liberty to offer you this.â
The air begins to shimmer, as time and space fray apart and warp. The G-man turns, ready to slip away, out of reality.
Gordon says nothing, but he offers him a solemn nod. Thank you.
The G-man nods back. Thank you too.
And then heâs gone. Never to be seen again.
Gordon will often think about him, as will the others who have met him, but none of them will ever have anything resembling an answer as to who he was, or what he represented.
But they do have the box.
Gordon sets his coffee down on the windowsill and crosses the living room, lifting the box. It doesnât seem that heavy.
His fingers run across its lid, as if feeling for anything out of the ordinary. But itâs ordinary wood.
He opens it.
Inside is a rusted and weathered six-shooter, chamber removed to make way for a spool of copper wire. Duct tape and random electronics cover it.
Cut to black.
The end.

SKZ REACT to...
âââyou being followed
part of my eight as fate event !! ( requested by anonâ ⥠)
genre/s: comfort, skz x gn reader
warning/s: description of being followed on the street, descriptions / mentions of panic attacks
wc: 1.8k
a/n: this one took me quite a while but iâm happy with it !!! i decided to write out a longer introduction to this to kinda set up a scene !! i hope yâall enjoy it (esp the comforting parts ofc kdjdjf)
itâs somewhat unlike you to walk alone at night. you figured it would only take you a few minutes, but you got out of work late, setting you back quite a while. to make things worse, while you were working overtime, the sun had set, leaving you to traverse the dimly lit city streets on your own. all you know is that your boyfriend left the door open for you, and a couch date sounds really great right now.
somewhere along your walk, you heard a shuffling noise coming from behind you. you disregarded it, thinking it may have been simple paranoia. youâve seen too many movies, you think. however, as you keep up your leisurely yet steady pace, you hear another noise. this time you turn around.
a man. in a black hoodie. looking you dead in the eye.
your eyes widen as a small gasp leaves your mouth. needless to say, you begin sprinting to your destination, heart racing at a pace that rivals the speed of your feet. with your focus aimed at getting as far away as you can, youâre honestly not even sure how your legs know where theyâre going. nevertheless, your saving grace comes into view. after a quick glance at the now empty street behind you, you sprint even faster than before. and, once you make it to the apartment door, you fling the door open and leap inside with enough force to rattle the hinges.
ây/n? whatâs wro-â
âi was being followed,â you interject, a choked sob finally escaping you.
ââCHAN
his first instinct, no matter what, is to make sure you feel safer now.
heâll sit you down on the couch, staying close beside you and rubbing your back while reiterating that whoever that man was is gone now.
iâve always liked to think heâd be good to have around in the event of a panic attack. especially if youâre the type of person who needs physical and verbal reassurance. back rubs, hugging, and breathing reminders galore.
once youâve calmed down, he would wipe away your tears and hold you close to him as he asks you about the rest of your day.
heâs an amazing listener and he canât wait to hear about the latest employee or customer gossip lmao
but more importantly, it would take your mind off things, which is all he truly wants.
if you start looking a bit gloomy or drifting off in thought, heâd probably suggest some cuddle time !! he would make sure to remind you of how courageous you were in that moment before promising you one last time that youâre safer now, here with him.
youâd finally fall asleep in his arms, filling him with relief.
ââMINHO
first reaction: absolutely pissed.
not at you of course, but at the guy who was following you. with you still in his arms, he glances pointedly out the front door and the windows, closing the blinds after giving the entire apartment a once-over.you end up in the bedroom, in which heâll guide you to sit beside him on the bed.
his expression will have completely changed from anger to loving concern. heâd look deeply into your eyes while holding both your hands in his, assuring you that youâre safe now.while you continue to cry, you explain what had happened in more detail. he strokes your hair as you speak and nods along, blood boiling.
he canât stand the thought of any person making you feel unsafe. but, heâd maintain a calm exterior in order to make you feel more at ease.
once you describe the whole situation, heâd reassure you once again that the man canât get to you now.
âheâll have to get through me.â
you giggle.
âhEYâ
ââCHANGBIN
i think heâd have a similar reaction to minho !!
very visibly pissed that some random guy had the nerve to intimidate you. that dudeâs lucky he didnât follow you the whole way home or else heâd probably be pretty uh. damaged. by now..
heâd sit you down on the couch, do a quick check-in at each of the windows and doors, and come back as soon as he can to console you.
when he does, heâs quick to sit beside you, arm wrapped around you with the other wiping the tears off of your face.
after you explain the situation a bit more clearly, he becomes even more angry (probably mutters some curses under his breath)
but !!!! i think heâd really try his best to focus on cheering you up
asking you what youâd like to do for the rest of the night, if youâd like any food, if youâd like to sleep or stay up for a while.. etc.
plus heâd amp up the silly antics to make you forget about things !!
ââHYUNJIN
i think his physical reaction would become similar to yours. very quickly.
like once he sees your tears and senses your quickened pulse. his immediate response (whether voluntary or not) would be to emulate you.
so, naturally, heâd hold you in his arms and let you cry it out, while small sobs of his own escape him.
seeing you so scared is a scary feeling.
of course, heâd reassure you that youâre safe !!! heâd look into your eyes, tucking your hair behind your ears, and tell you that itâs all over now and that youâre safe.
you, of course, donât want him to feel sad or scared, so youâd console him as well.
you two would comfort each other the whole rest of the night. i think the most probable option would be the two of you cuddled up in bed watching a movie or reading webtoons together
distraction !! but make it a drama !! or a romcom because .. vibes !!
and when you decide itâs time for bed (however late that may be due to the stress from earlier) heâd be sure to remind you that heâll be with you all night & when you wake up
(but heâs also secretly clinging onto you out of fear as well kdjfgj)
ââJISUNG
âoh sh- oh sHIT-â
wouldnât know what in the fuck to do
would haphazardly check all the windows like minho did, holding your hand as you continue to cry
after heâs done, heâd cling to you and hold you SO very tight <3
lots of âshh shh baby.. baby shhhhâ and all that jazz.. you know the sungie vibesâŠ
heâd stroke your hair and arms, noticing your slight shakiness and suggesting you both cuddle for some extra comfort and warmth
no matter what time of night it is, heâd turn off the lights and cuddle with you as you describe the event in more detail
quiet & calm
even if you end up crying again while you speak, heâs there to brush the tears off your face with his thumb and help you calm down again
ââFELIX
before you came, he might have cooked a small meal for the two of you to share. even though you worked late, itâd still be waiting for you when you arrive. heâd wait too.
when you do happen to burst through the door, heâd jump and gasp out of fear but heâs quick to run up to you and hold you as you let out everything youâd held in during your walk-turned-chase
also !! will help you get settled in as you describe what went down
helping you take off your coat and shoes, getting water for you, grabbing some blankets; all while listening intently and giving you all of his attention
once youâre seated on the couch, wrapped in the softest blanket he could find and staying hydrated after such a harrowing event, heâd be sure to hold you as close as possible to remind you that everythingâs okay
eventually, through his subtle gestures and calming demeanor, you wonât even realize how you got situated !! he just knows what to do to make you as comfortable as possible without even trying all that hard
you may choose to skip dinner, but no matter what, heâll be holding you close the whole night through to make sure you know heâs there to protect and care for you
ââSEUNGMIN
heâs very methodical about how to proceed. his first instinct is to do what some of the others would and check the house, but he decides to help you calm down first.
youâre rambling about what happened in between sobs and quick breaths, which sends a pain through his heart as he shuts and locks the door.
if youâre shorter than him, heâd bend a little to make direct eye contact with you. heâll rub your arms and tell you that you donât have to be afraid anymore
the most calming and reassuring voice in the whole world omg !!!!!!
heâd wipe your tears away and cup your face with both of his hands, prompting you to look back into his eyes before smiling at you
âyouâre safe now, right?â
you smile back at him, nodding.
ânow, letâs lock all the doors so no bad guys can get in!â
then, heâd take your hand and let you help him lock the doors and shut the curtains, making it feel like a chore instead of a precaution
and for your âgood workâ, heâd reward you with some binge watching & cuddle time !!! (as if that wasnât the original plan skjdfg)
ââJEONGIN
(under his breath, eyes wide) âoh my godâŠâ
i think heâd start freaking out a bit like hyunjin did, but heâd do his very best to hide it. he knows he has to be strong to help you calm down and feel safe.
like felix, heâd help you take off your coat and shoes, leading you over to the couch as you shakily describe what happened.
(iâm sorry i keep making comparisons to the other members bUT) like minho, heâd hold your hands in his, rubbing them softly with his thumbs to soothe your nerves as you let everything out
heâd try to cheer you up by suggesting alternative motives the man mightâve had instead of wanting to harm you
for instance:
jeongin: âwhat if he was lost and needed directions but he was too shy to ask because youâre so pretty/handsome?â
you: âbabe i donât think-â
jeongin: âOR what if he thought he knew you !!â
you: âbut he-â
jeongin: âWHAT IF IT WAS BATMAN-â
overall, his aim is to distract you (as well as himself), which ends in success. youâll both be in stitches by the end of the night
and⊠laughing is super tiring, right?
therefore, as reiterated throughout all of these reactions because we all know itâs true:
CUDDLESSSS
oh also.. right before you fall asleep in his arms, heâd ask if you want to leave the light on during the night :( bc heâs a cutie :((((

đCherry Ice Creamđ
A/N: Happy July! I planned this almost a year ago and finally got around to writing it...I hope you like it! As always, I appreaciate feedback a lot! Hope everyone has a lovely day <3
pairing: optional bias (male) x reader (gn)
words: ~ 3.7 k
genre: fluff, comedy, lifeguard!bias, reader is the most awkward and chaotic person ever (are we at the public pool or the circus?? seriously Iâm so second hand embarrassed for her lmao), bias is the hottest man in existence, the universe has something against the reader apparently (rip)
PART 2 (nsfw, both parts can be read independently)
You approached the front entrance of the public swimming pool. Everything was still going by plan. Ever since the weather had gotten warmer, youâd had swimming on your mind. And every single person in your life had been made aware of it. Despite the friendly asking and the occasional begging, you still hadnât found anyone to accompany you to the public swimming pool. You had heard all the reasons: Work, already planned vacations, a sick pet, a hatred of water, a hatred of people, you name it. After all the searching you had come to the conclusion that you were tired of waiting. Nothing could possibly rob you of your excitement about swimming pools. Youâd go alone and have a wonderful time. It would be a relaxing day with loads of time just for you. So you had told yourself. But letâs face it, nothing could have prepared you for the utter chaos you were about to walk into.
It began before you had even set both feet into the facility. Your steps were light, and you beamed, ready to enter after you had paid. The strap of your sports bag had caught in the turnstile in the entrance area. Stubborn as you were, you yanked on it, instead of turning around and manually freeing the fabric from the steel contraption. You had put your entire weight on the line, tugging and pulling, when the strap finally came loose from the turnstile. As expected from such antics, you tripped and struggled in your flip-flops, blundering into the compound like a baby giraffe walking for the first time. By the time you tried to compose yourself to look cool and relaxed after such a mistake, you noticed him.
He, who looked like a Greek god blessing you with a visit on earth. He was all tan skin, red life-guard swim trunks, perfectly sculped shoulders, pushed back hair, a smile that put the sun to shame and sunglasses sitting on top of his head. Instantly you thanked yourself for not seriously injuring yourself. The young godman crossed the lawn, presumably to take his seat by the pool, watching out for the visitors. Only he made it look like he was strutting on a runway at Paris fashion week. All you could do was pray that he hadnât seen you entering his workplace headfirst like some impatient six-year-old.
As people passed you, you realized you were standing in the same spot where you had almost fallen a minute ago. Manifesting that this was just the silly beginning to a perfect day, you paraded into the shaded grassy area to find a spot to set up your things. Countless groups of friends, families, and lone visitors like yourself had already settled down, but you managed to find a fine spot. It was the superb balance between sunny and shady and not too far from the swimming pools and water slides. In seconds you had shed off your clothes to reveal your swimsuit underneath. Although you could barely keep yourself waiting, you decided it was best to stay there a short while before you threw yourself into the waves. Just until the sunscreen had absorbed into your skin. Meanwhile, you would unpack the catchy book you had recently begun to read.
Now and then you raised your head and peeked at the cute lifeguard. You seriously had no intentions of coming across like a creep, but you couldnât stop yourself. The way he patrolled the side of the large pool had more coolness than the prettiest shot of a hot movie star in a film. You allowed yourself a few seconds, then youâd go back to your novel. The sounds of summer floated through the air â children laughing, water splashing, birds chirping above you â and the scent of the sunscreen catapulted you straight on cloud 9. It felt like your own small piece of paradise. Little did you know, the universe had so much more in store for you.
You hadnât been buried in your book for even 10 minutes when a group of kids ran by. They were passing a water ball from one to the other and giggling uncontrollably. You saw it coming in your peripheral vision but had no time to react. As they had reached your level, one of them punched the ball especially hard. And instead of catching it, the dark blue ball bounced off one childâs hands and straight into the side of your face. It knocked your sunglasses off the bridge of your nose, but more importantly gave you the fright of your life. You dropped your book while the childrenâs mother scolded them from the side. After the initial surprise you couldnât accept their apologies quickly enough. Anything if it could spare you from even more attention from random guests around you. Impulsively, your eyes searched for the cute lifeguard. But he was looking into the opposite direction. At least fate had saved you from embarrassing you in front of him. The last thing you wanted was to look like more of a clown than you had when entering the facility earlier. But against your expectations, the train of unfortunate events was only beginning.
Surely things would be more peaceful in the water, you had thought. When you finally entered the cool pool, it felt like heaven on earth. Fearing a case of recurrence, you avoided the shallower areas, where the children crowded and went straight for the deeper waters. Finally experiencing some form of relaxation, you swam and dived a few laps around the pool. Now and then you caught a glimpse of the lifeguard on the far end of the pool. Just to make sure he was still there. Just to make sure heâs still as handsome as when you first spotted him. And you werenât disappointed. Gesturing kindly, he helped an elderly woman find directions to the restaurant on the far end of the site. From up closer, his smile and his jaw were even prettier â even though it had seemed impossible for him to become even more perfect.
After a while, your limbs became tired and you retracted into less busy waters, close to the exit and entrance area of the swimming pool. As you paddled your way through bodies, a bug startled you. It had by all appearances chosen you as its victim, as it took direct flight into your face. Even when you swat it away and turned around to change directions, it kept chasing you and only you. Like some crazy, obsessed stalker, it followed you to the edge of the pool. Eventually, you became tired of running and turned to it. If some random flying beetle wanted to fight you, so be it. To the untrained eye, you might have appeared like a lunatic, fanning the air, and squinting against the bright sunlight. But it was war, and you would square up against the most annoying of bugs. After a while, you realized that you were waving off the air â no more bug in sight. Only then you noted the little girl laughing in your direction from the poolside. You were way too mortified to turn into his direction at first, but when you found the lifeguard, he was conversing with one of his co-workers. Once again, you were safe.
Your next approach at a good time was the colorful waterslide close by. Certainly, these heights would not include micro-aggressive bugs. Instead, they included something far more unsettling. Considering there were toddlers going down the waterslide, you deemed it safe and fun. Your mind changed in the first sharp turn, when you tumbled over and hit your elbow from the sudden change of direction. Maybe you should have just stayed in the ring with the bug instead of choosing this more than violent escape. But it was too late. Once on the slide, you had to make it through to the finish line â more or less in one piece. Your grand finale composed of a semi-somersault off the edge of the waterslide into the pool. Although it wasnât intentional, you still hoped it looked somewhat graceful to the audience at the bottom. Hint: No, it didnât. You looked like a baby monkey that had been sent down a self-constructed-waterslide in someoneâs backyard. It was a disaster.
Feeling over-heated and exhausted from the sun and your embarrassing antics, you found a drinking fountain by the showers to refresh yourself. Patiently, you waited in the short line until it was your turn. As fate wanted it, the next messy incident wasnât long in the coming. In fact, it only took four sips of water before you accidentally inhaled some of it. You stepped back, choking, coughing, and gasping for air all at once. A helpful woman showed mercy with you and your awkward behavior and softly pat your back. âAre you okay, dear?â she asked. Unable to speak just yet, you smiled and nodded gratefully. Great. Maybe you should add âclownâ onto your previous professions in your CT. By now, half the visitors probably knew who you were â a walking safety hazard to yourself.
After retreating to your bath towel set-up in the shade for a while, you had almost found new hope that the universe wasnât against you that day. You managed to lie there, for a whole hour, without any issues. But then, slowly, another idea crept up on you. After all, what was summer without ice cream? By chance, you happened to know the little ice cream truck next to the yellow waterslide sold your favorite brand of ice lolly. So off you went, money in hands and wild determination in your head. The visual of the handsome lifeguard lingered in your mind even after you had passed the chair he was sitting on by the poolside. You acquired your ice lolly successfully and ripped the wrapper right away. It tasted like summer in food format, and you reveled in the cold treat for a while, as you strolled back in the direction of your bath towel.
Fully aware that you would have to walk by the insanely cute lifeguard again, you tried your best to look cool, next to the large pool. In your imagination, you were glowing in the sun, hair slightly flowing in the warm breeze and steps bouncing happily. You were the personification of summer bloom and radiating everything good about the season. For a moment, you closed your eyes and actually indulged in the warmth on your face. That was when the next mishap struck.
You didnât even understand what was happening at first. Someone accidentally bumped into you â or did you bump into them? Upon the impact, you opened your eyes. Your ice-cream had vanished from your hands. Turns out, you had dropped it and it had landed only two feet from you. Out of balance, you stumbled ahead even after the impact. And of course, only a second later your foot stepped directly onto the ice lolly. Inevitably, you skidded and struggled to stay on your feet by means of flinging and waving your arms in the air. As if you were some stranger, trying to attract the attention of an aircraft whilst stranded on a desert island. One thing was for sure, you had everyoneâs observance tied to you. With an involuntary but comedic performance of theatrical extent, you fell and hit the water surface.
The cool hit you so suddenly, you had swallowed a gulp of water before your instincts had time to set in. Quickly, your limbs began paddling to get you back to the surface. At that instant, a pair of arms suddenly linked under your armpits and swooped you up from underwater. Your brain processed what was going on. Without a doubt, someone had jumped after you and was pulling you out of the water. Stubbornly, you tried to avoid the idea of the cute lifeguard helping you out. Christ, that would really be the peak of all your embarrassing moments. No, it was probably the person you had run into, or someone who had already been in the water.
When you were placed by the poolside and blinked against the blending sun, your worst concerns came to pass. There he was, so close you could have touched his face. His worried expression changed when you opened your eyes, and he smiled, relieved. âIs everything alright?â he asked. Youâd think this would make you into the most shamefaced person on the planet. And yet, all you could wonder was how two peopleâs genes could combine so flawlessly, so beautifully, to create such a man. When he got no answer from your moonstruck figure, he furrowed his eyebrows in alarm.
âOh my- my god,â you stammered. âYes! Iâm fine, Iâm sorry!â
You werenât sure why you were apologizing. For worrying him? For inconveniencing him? For causing another scene? Either way, he grinned, and you felt your cheeks heat up terribly. You had to get away from there before something cringy came out of your mouth. Although you werenât sure there was any way you could have made this more awkward than it already was.
âMake sure you have no injuries, okay?â he asked, helping you up. âIf you need any medical assistance, just let me or one of the other lifeguards know.â
âUmâŠokay,â you said. Wow. That was no way to flirt with the most attractive person you had ever met. With all this drama you had gone through on that day, the universe could have at least blessed you with a romantic, your-life-savior-realizes-he-just-met-the-love-of-his-life moment. But no. The movies really were one massive hoax.
âItâs probably best you take a little break from the surprise, before you go back into the water,â he advised you. âAnd donât hesitate to ask, if you need any more help.â
If only he knew how many times you had already tried to take a break from the surprise after everything on that day. You stood on your feet safely but felt like a cat that had fallen into the bathtub. At last, you managed a smile in the lifeguardâs direction. âThank you.â
Funny enough, the stares people gave you bothered you only slightly as you walked back to your spot under the trees. Maybe you had used up all your embarrassment for the day. Nothing could intimidate you anymore. That meant, whatever happened from now on, it couldnât get worse. Somehow after the pinnacle of chaos, you finally felt some inner tranquility. You went back to your novel, now and then keeping an eye out for potential water balls coming your way. But everything was calm. As time went on, you lost yourself completely in the story line and forgot about everything around you. Maybe this was all meant to happen. Perhaps it was a message, that you should have waited for your family to have a free day, or for your friend to come back from vacation. Would the same things have happened? There was no way to tell. Just as you reached a specifically exciting scene in the novel, a figure suddenly appeared in front of you. You couldnât believe your eyes.
âHey,â the handsome lifeguard stood there, smiling kindly. Wide-eyed, you straightened up and greeted him shyly.
âI couldnât help but notice how happy you were about that ice cream earlier,â he said. âBut then youâŠlost your ice cream.â
âWhat an interesting way of saying I stomped on it and made an absolute fool of myself,â you smirked. He chuckled.
âHowever you want to put it, I thought maybe you could use some cheering up,â he went on. âSo I got you a new one.â
He pulled two ice-lollies from behind his back. âOne for you, one for me.â
You couldnât believe your ears. âYou bought me this? I donât want to sound rude⊠but arenât you supposed to be looking out for the next victim to repeat my foolery?â
âIâm on my break,â he laughed. His eyes crinkled up cutely when he smiled, and it only made your stomach flutter more. âIf you want me to leave, I will. Iâm not trying to be weird or obtruding. Just making sure youâre okay, because I noticed youâre here alone.â
âOh. No! Feel free to stay here for as long as you want!â you said, and now maybe you were the one sounding obtrusive. You scooted over and let him take a spot on your bathmat. You thanked him for the ice cream and gleefully unwrapped it. âMy friends and family werenât available today. But I really, really wanted to come here today. Maybe not my brightest idea.â
âDonât worry, Iâve seen way worse plunges than yours. You were lucky, really. You got away with a small shock and nothing more. It was pretty impressive, actually.â
âIâm glad I have entertaining qualities, at least.â
âIâm just messing with you,â he laughed. âIâm glad youâre fine. This place gets a little wild during the afternoon, especially on weekends.â
âYou donât say,â you chuckled.
âI recommend coming here in the mornings or late evenings, if you want a little more peace and quiet.â
âThanks, Iâll probably consider it. Do you work here full time?â you asked.
âNo, this is just a summer job,â he said. âItâs great. I get to swim for free and be outside a lot. Not to mention this is one of my favorite places in town.â
âYou love swimming too?â you asked and regretted it right away. A lifeguard who hated swimming made no sense, after all. But he didnât seem to think your words were silly.
âI do! I come here a lot to swim, when itâs not as busy and I donât have to work,â he said. The thought of seeing him again when you came back in a few days â which you already knew you would â made you feel some sort of way. You had been embarrassed, but his sweet words had appeased you. You could definitely get used to seeing his face all summer long. The two of you talked for some time, while you both finished your ice cream. You learned his name, which was just as beautiful as its owner, and that he thought you had actually looked pretty cute (!) when you fell into the pool. You swore he wasnât even real. Perhaps he was merely a hallucination, a product of your imagination, to cheer yourself up after your messy day. Either way, your head was up in the clouds as long as he was sitting there, next to you, with his perfect shoulders and charming voice. Soon, he had to excuse himself, though. His break was over and as he had put it, he needed to prevent any more ice cream-murders from happening.
After your conversation, the universe had apparently shifted in your favor. You spent the entire rest of your day without any more misfortunes. Like you had talked to a lucky charm who had done miracles for you, you had a fantastic time. You were even brave enough to face a few more goâs down the ever-so-threatening waterslide. As it got later, more people went home, and just as he had predicted, things calmed down. And you were convinced you would stay until the bitter end. Only when a female voice announced over the speakers that the swimming pool would close in 30 minutes, you slowly started to pack up your things.
As you approached the exit, you scanned the area for your favorite lifeguard. But he was nowhere to be found. You assumed he had already finished his shift and gone home. But as luck would have it, as you neared the bicycle stands to retrieve your bike, you saw him already there. His eyes beamed when he noticed you.
âWow, you held out a long time,â he said. âHad fun?â
âI did,â you said. You could only be grateful your ice-cream massacre was the sole of your antics he had witnessed that afternoon. Who knew how he would look at you if he had experienced your full chaotic capacity? âThank you again, for making sure I was fine. And for the ice cream.â
âIt was no big deal,â he said. âItâs what Iâm here for.â
âTo buy random girls ice cream?â you teased.
âNo, only the special ones get the ice cream.â
âDefine special.â
âTo be honest? I was genuinely concerned you would feel down. Iâve seen you almost trip over when you first came in, you got hit in the face by a ball, Iâve witnessed your little quarrel with that bug and your somersault from the waterslide looked pretty rough. After all that you choked on water and then ended up falling into the pool and losing your ice cream. I supposed you could need some serious cheering up.â
Oh my god. If only you could have opened a portal straight to hell, you would have taken the chance on the spot. All this time he had been watching you? It couldnât get more mortifying than this.
âSorry, I sound like some creepy stalker,â he said. âI didnât mean to stare. Itâs just you-â
âI looked like a clown in a neon suit?â
âYouâre really pretty,â he said. Your cheeks warmed up and you could have yelled out loud.
âBut you have to admit, at least the clown part is true.â
âMaybe,â he joked. âDonât be embarrassed. I thought you were â are â adorable.â
âThank you,â you managed to say. What the hell were you doing? The most handsome guy was complimenting you. You had to take your chance. âMaybe sometime I could buy you some ice cream too? If you feel like it-â
âIâd love that,â he smiled. It was only the beginning of summer, but it was a glorious one. You already knew it could only get better. Instead of cursing the universe, you had to say your thank youâs now. Without your string of bad luck, things would have never led this way. Perhaps fortune was on your side, after all.

hi jello!! what about post timeskip levihan? commander hanji is working very hard and rarely, rarely sleeps (let alone eats and bathes properly. its worse than before now though.).
what if one time levi discovers hanji passed tf out due to sheer exhaustion in the most weird and random of places. he doesnât want to wake them up bc hanji def needs the rest so he carries/tucks her into bed.đ„șâ€ïž
JAZZY thank you for the prompt! I kind of combined it with this one too:
Thank you, Anon!
Preview:
Hange gave a small laugh before saying, âThank you Levi, I feel much better now.â
âTch, you havenât even done what we came here to do,â Levi scoffed.
Hange made a confused sound.
âDrop the dish.â
It had been 3 years since Shiganshina. Levi climbed into the carriage and sat across from Hange, who was still reading through her notes from the long and grueling meeting that lasted for the better part of the day. All the highest ranking military officials had been called to the capital to discuss Paradisâs best course of action. Queen historia was there, along with her staff, advisors, and of course Zackley. Levi had been to plenty of these meetings before, but this time was different in a bit of a distressing way.
Over the years, Levi had watched Erwin defend the scouts countless times. From questionable means of gathering information, to explaining away hundreds of lives lost, he always had an answer for everything and he always managed to leave with a favourable image. It was something Levi truly admired and even envied about Erwin.
But now he had been watching Hange flounder. She has indeed improved over the last 3 years, but she still doubts herself and while it might not be known to those around her, Levi canât help but feel sympathetic to her situation. Today however, the other officials had been particularly ruthless.
âTake a break, Hange,â Levi ordered. Hange just sighed. Then her stomach growled. âHave you eaten today?â
âUuuuuuuhhh,â Hange mused as she genuinely struggled to remember.
âTch, thereâs your answer,â Levi crossed his arms. The rest of the officials had a big dinner scheduled for tonight, but of course the Survey Corps got shafted and had to leave early in order to prepare. Hange met his eyes again with an exhausted look he was all too familiar with.
âHow have you been sleeping?â
âNot great,â she admitted. Leviâs stomach sank. He had dealt with his own insomnia his whole life, but it seems worse on Hange. Perhaps it was the stark contrast from her former bubbly and loud personality. Hange pinched the bridge of her nose and let out another long sigh. Levi couldnât help feeling inadequate and helpless. He rarely got himself to sleep, how could he help Hange?
Levi looked out the window at the setting sun when he got an idea. He realized what Hange had been neglecting while trying to be a good commander. Something that wasnât just eating and sleeping. Something that was unique to Hange.
âHange, thereâs one more thing you need to do before we leave.â
Hange raised an eyebrow.
Levi told the driver to wait for them and escorted Hange to the dining hall.
âLevi, we were technically invited, but I donât think showing up for food after we already said goodbye is a very good look for us,â Hange practically whispered.
Levi opened the doors and they were greeted with a sweet aroma of bread, appetizers, and whatever was going to be the main dish. Hangeâs mouth watered. The long elegant table was decorated with ornate candles, beautiful china, crystal glasses, and there were 4 sets of cutlery for each place setting.
âRelax, they wonât be here just yet. They will all be busy getting dressed for dinner.â
Hange grabbed a bread roll and took a huge bite, not bothering to chew before she commented, âI never understood âdressing for dinnerâ ugh. Whatâs the point?â
Levi was about to make a half hearted comment about how Hange could never fit in with âcivilizedâ society, but he stopped himself when he saw she was eating and was a little bit more relaxed. He found a small plate of savoury looking appetizers and handed it to her. She immediately took one.
âMMM, Levi!â she exclaimed, pointing at the plate. She popped another in her mouth before saying, âyou gotta try these!â
Levi put up a hand and said, âyou enjoy.â
Hange enthusiastically cleared the whole platter in less than a minute, and Levi was watching her, endeared at the behaviour. He had missed this side of her. Despite how gross it was, there was a glimpse of the carefree Hange he once knew. A small hint of a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
Then Hange belched.
âDisgusting,â Levi waved the air in front of his nose.
Hange gave a small laugh before saying, âThank you Levi, I feel much better now.â
âTch, you havenât even done what we came here to do,â Levi scoffed.
Hange made a confused sound.
âDrop the dish.â
Hangeâs one eye widened as she processed what Levi was saying.
âCâmon, you need to blow off some steam. They were total assholes to you today, and for what? You didnât know the exact amount of your food budget? And yet,â Levi gestured to the banquet. He then picked up a delicate looking wine glass. He held his arm outstretched, and loosened his grip, letting it crash to the ground. âOops.â
A mischievous smile stretched across Hangeâs lips. âOops,â she mimicked Levi and let the empty platter fall to the floor, breaking into dozens of pieces. She slowly started to lap around the long luxurious set up, like a predator admiring her prey before pouncing.
âRight? And Nile, ugh, what a hypocrite! Giving me shit for not knowing about that small thing, belittling me in front of everyone,â Hange snapped a salad plate against the edge of the table. âIt wasnât too long ago when he would have been the first to admit he had no idea what the first interior squad were up to! We had to find out for ourselves. Erwin was almost hanged!â Hange kicked a chair over on its side.
âYeah, fuck Nile,â Levi egged her on. He took a seat at the head of the table and started sipping from one of the water glasses.
âIs this his spot?â
Levi shrugged but Hange was already pouring out a glass of wine all over the white seat, staining it a deep crimson. Levi hid his delight behind another sip.
âAnd did you catch what he said at the end? âSome of us have wives to get home toââ, she imitated in a mocking tone as she casually pushed a platter of dumplings off the table. âYeah, run home, Nile. Run home to Erwinâs SLOPPY SECONDS!â
Levi blew water out of his nose, and before he could react, Hange reached under the short side of the table and flipped it over, sending its contents hurtling across the room. Hange was elated at the result, laughing almost maniacally.
âIdiot,â Levi hissed, grabbing Hangeâs wrist and leading her out the side door. He heard footsteps, and so he instinctively dove into nearby shrubbery, taking Hange down with him.
They hid in the bushes for minutes, Levi pressing his hand to suppress Hangeâs uncontrollable laughter. It had been so long since sheâd laughed like this. It was infectious and Levi might have actually laughed himself, were it not for the fear of getting caught. He had no problem telling the MPs where to shove it, but he didnât want Hange to get in trouble. Her whole body was convulsing, and it was rattling the leaves around her. Levi used all his body weight to stop her jerky movements.
After about another minute of total silence, Hange tapped Leviâs arm, signalling to let go. He was hesitant, but he obliged. Hange drew a couple deep breaths, fanning herself, trying to calm down from laughing so hard. Levi was transfixed by the way the moonlight danced on her tear-stained face. They stared at each other for a moment before Hange snickered once more, causing Levi to cover her mouth yet again. âYouâre impossible,â he said, pushing her head back down.
Once the coast was clear, they ran back to their carriage, hand in hand. Partly because Levi wanted Hange to keep up, and partly because it felt nice to hold her hand. They ducked their heads until they were off of the main roads. A few minutes later, Hange started giggling again.
âWhat?â Levi asked.
Hange bit her lip playfully as she reached into her coat and pulled out a bottle of expensive wine she must have swiped from the banquet.
Levi rolled his eyes, but couldnât help his smile. She looked like a child that just got away with stealing more dessert. She looked joyful for the first time in a long time. She yanked out the cork and took a swig before offering the bottle to Levi. He graciously accepted and tasted the wine for himself. It was too sweet for his taste, but he couldnât deny that it was spectacular.
âThatâs nice,â he commented.
âPfft! It tastes the same as the cheap stuff!â Hange scoffed as she took the bottle back. Any other time, Levi would have teased her and started an argument, but not today. He wanted to cherish this moment. He leaned over to look at the stars through his window. Not a bad ending to an otherwise terrible day.
After Shiganshina, he and Hange had lost so much. Their comrades, friends; life as they knew it had completely changed and they barely had a momentâs breather to come to grips with it all. Levi was unfortunately accustomed to it, but Hange wasnât. Hange had been so strong through all of this and Levi wanted to find the right words to tell her. Maybe it was the exhaustion they both felt; maybe it was the close proximity, but for some reason, somehow, Levi felt a tiny bit of courage surge through his veins.
âHey, Hange, I-â
When he turned to look at her, she was fast asleep, neck crooked as she cradled the bottle of wine. Levi smiled at her. She looked peaceful, like she was getting quality sleep. He took the bottle from her arms and gently maneuvered her to a more comfortable, lying down position. He removed his jacket and draped it over her, as a make-shift blanket.
âGoodnight, Four-Eyes,â he mumbled to himself and returned to his seat. Hange slept the whole way home. When they finally arrived in the southern barracks, Levi couldnât bring himself to wake her up. He quickly ran their luggage up to their rooms, and came back for Hange.
Being as gentle as he could, he scooped up the commander and ignored the curious look he got from the carriage driver. She was taller than him, and her long limbs made the trek a little difficult, but he was determined. Her steady breaths tickled the skin of his neck.
He carried her up the winding staircase and into her quarters. He lowered her on the bed, careful not to go too fast. He cradled her head for a split second longer than he needed too. He took off her long boots one at a time, placing them silently on the floor at the end of the bed. He undid the top two buttons of her jacket and shirt, just for comfort. Then he pulled the blanket up to her chin, and tucked around the sides.
Finally, he removed her glasses and eyepatch, caressing the tender skin underneath. Placing them on her night stand, he got up to leave. The door hinge creaked as he opened it, and Hange stirred.
âMmm Levi?â She called out.
Levi wasnât sure if she was actually awake, or if she was sleep-talking. He was still deciding whether he should answer when she continued, âThank you, Levi. For everything.â
âYou too, Hange,â he spoke just above a whisper, as he closed her door.

good eye
part 4 of the âhey batter batterâ series
pairing: Francisco Morales (Frankie, Catfish) x reader
wordcount:Â 3.5k (Iâm only 14% sorry about that)
warnings:Â strong language, extremely mild injury, Benny Miller working out, a little bit of a cliffhanger ending
summary:Â itâs a Triple Frontier baseball AU! Trust me, you donât need to know anything about baseball.Â
âgood eyeâ is an encouragement for batting players, essentially applauding them for having good judgement when and when not to swing.
In this chapter, the guys becoming increasingly aware of how interesting you are to the whole gang - and what theyâre going to do about it.Â
>>
Bottom of the ninth inning â the end of the game.
Sometimes players fixated on the score, glancing at the flashing lights or acting desperately but for Will, keeping it in his head was just as natural as breathing. Floating around first base made it easy for him to keep an eye on everything, and stay focused under the summer sun. His team was up by two.
The opposition was at bat â their final advantage as the home team. He didnât feel particularly nervous, but couldnât breathe easy just yet. They already had two outs, thanks to his little brotherâs inhuman speed and some excellent Garcia pitching, and just one more to go before it was all over. Preferably, this would happen before the man on third made it to home base.Â
There was a bead of sweat rolling down, down, down his temple over his cheekbone, and into his beard. The clouds from the start of the game were long gone â even with his cap, his blue eyes were getting tired.
They were focused on the batter, not even Pope, and never the crowd, since it was always just a blur of noise and rival colors and waving hands. The closer the game came to an end, the more the mass of people writhed with tension. It was better just to ignore it. There was no reason at all, but he looked up just for a split second and he saw a single, tiny form make itself clear, sending a confusing thrill down his spine.
A familiar crack rang through the air and he snapped back to focus. The batter was hurling towards him, the crowd was holding itâs breath as he looked around, almost frantically.
Where was the ball?!
Your form was still in his minds eye, he didnât understand, but then â there, in the outfield. No, here. Instinct had taken over.
It was in his glove, and his left toe had found first base. Will heard a curse as the opposing player plowed behind him a second too late, a yell from the umpire, and then the satisfying groans of the other teamâs fans.
Pope crashed into him first, then whoever else was the closest. It was giddy and triumphant chaos, hands clapping his shoulder, sweaty hugs, slaps, and high fives, and Will barely noticed any of it. Jogging back to the locker room was quick, the crunch of their shoes in the grit of the field like a stampede, impossibly loud. The locker room wasnât as bad. It would have been louder if they had lost, like they had expected. Something still felt strange in his gut as they changed and rinsed off and packed their things.
You were interesting to him, he liked how real you were. He was normally the one that grounded others, that kept his head, learned his lessons and left the game on the field. It was nice, spending time with someone he didnât have to do that for â or really anything for. There wasnât a need to put on a show for you, or be your steady sidekick. It was nice. But it had only been a lunch and a night at the bar, no reason to know the shape of you, much less be thrown off by it.
He was taking extra care to clean his newest tattoo, absentminded, when the locker-talk caught his attention.
This was the first away game they had won this season, and everyone was debating why their luck had changed. Some of them were arguing loudly, ridiculously, and as usual, his friends started gravitating together, interested, but with lower voices and cooler heads.
âDo you think it was because I wore last weekendâs socks, Fish?â Benny was grinning, as his friends eyebrows answered for him. Frankie was superstitious, but in a way heâd gotten from his abuela, not the game. Will had a thought, the confusing last moment of the game clicking into the conversation, his eyes meeting Pope's for a moment.
âActually, I have a theory,â he kept his voice quiet. If the rest of the team got wind that William Miller was participating in the banter, theyâd be all over him, sure he was right only because he rarely cared. His friends looked at him, curiously, and he chewed on the idea for a moment, liking it more and more until he actually believed himself when he told them.
Their good luck charm?
You.
-
Tom had missed the conversation, occupied with a love-sick staff member in a quiet corner of the stadium.
He would never admit it, but he always needed a distraction when the winning catch had nothing to do with him. And Molly had to travel with the team most weeks anyway, the availability becoming increasingly more appealing than trying his luck with a random fan.
The next day after practice, he found her again and this time, despite the crude nature of the location, he took little more time. It was strange, to grab her without pent up frustration driving his actions, but not an entirely unwelcome change of pace.
He didnât dwell on it, almost running away, but she did, trailing her fingers over the places his had been as she put herself together again. She wanted to remember each one, to savor them like it was the first time. And maybe it was â the very first time he had even kissed her with no particular personal agenda. Of that, she didnât feel as guilty about wanting more.
Tom had long since slipped out the door when she finished the process, just slipping on her heels when the someone knocked.
Opening it, she found an eager and awkward shortstop pushing into her office. He seemed nervous, more nervous than she had seen him during photo shoots and press conferences and final innings. It wasnât what she expected â not the demeanor the players normally held when they asked for favors. Professional athletes were confidant, suave, even. Ben had something else going on, something sweeter, maybe even innocent.
He called her maâam, and she rolled her eyes when he asked for you number.
âDonât you boys ever talk?â she was kind of annoyed. Ben was confused, it showed on his face.
âTom got it awhile ago,â she started, and he got it, immediately. The older man hadnât told any of them that you would be at the bar last week. He wondered if you knew he had arranged it. Something felt off but before he could ponder it she finished.
âAnd Santi got it yesterday.â Actually, she was more than annoyed. You hadnât seemed special at all when youâd been there opening weekend. Your grandfather was sweet but nothing about that day could explain why three of the players were willing to bend the rules to find you again.
Tomâs voice rang in her ears: heâs got it bad for her. That didnât quite fit what she was seeing, but she cooled down a little.
She didnât even have to shoo him away, his thank you, maâam, sorry to bother you made her feel like an old lady as he turned on his heels and trotted off.
The younger Miller was increasingly thoughtful, but he could feel something shift in the air. Then he shrugged it off. He was sure heâd find out, sooner or later.
-
âBen, whereâs your brain?â Catfish had caught him making eyes upside-down at the girl standing by the athletic trainer while he was mid workout. He didnât really need a partner to work out, but they tried to go together, to spot on another and to argue over who could bench press the most.
He watched as his friendâs brain and body scrambled to put down the weights and he stood up too fast.
Across the room, girlish laughter bubbled and Benny blushed, still not attending as he grabbed the water bottle he was being offered and squirted himself in the mouth.
âWhat?â
Frankie shot him an amused look, gesturing vaguely, his point now proven. This had happened before. The young player was almost certainly going to tell him some random information now to distract him and trying to avoid the inevitable teasing.
âDid you know Tom got her number?â
It worked. There was almost no context, but he knew immediately and there was a twist in his stomach. It was the answer to a question he didnât know had been on his mind - Catfish fully short circuited.
Redfly got your number? That was why Frankie had found him putting the moves on you before they were scheduled to meet. He was shaking his head, dazed, when Ben added, âAnd Santi got it a couple days ago, too.â
A moment of silence, and then,
âFucking what?!âÂ
Heads around the private gym turned.
Ben hissed for quiet as he dragged him towards the locker room, and he found himself allowing it as he heart tried to catch up with his mind. No way Pope was going after you too.
âWeird, right?â Frankie felt like âweirdâ was putting it mildly.
âI just asked for it,â
âYou -"
â- because I wanted to be friends, but,â the younger man was ignoring his sputtering panic. He didnât know if he should be mad or grateful. âWhy wouldnât they tell us?â
That stopped his racing heart. That was the question, wasnât it? Frankie dragged his hand down his face, smoothed his mustache, readjusted his hat, trying fruitlessly to ground himself.
He said something noncommittal in response, barely hearing himself as he changed the topic. Ben was watching him, he could tell, but it wasnât as though he could explain why he had reacted so strongly. He didnât even know why.
Itâs not like the feel of you against his hand was all he had been thinking about for the past few days.
His head was spinning, and not in the same way as when he had heard you were at the last game.
Of course other men had their eyes on you. You were gorgeous. His hand twitched on the locker as an image of him pressing you against it flashed through his mind. Shoving it down, he moved on.
You were smart, too, and kind. Certainly he couldnât be the only one who liked the way you looked when you were thinking, or the little messiness of your hair, or the curve of your neck and shoulders as you leaned against the table.
There was a flare of something green in his chest. He was thinking about your hand on his arm, the way it made him feel like he was your anchor, the white lines on the ground guiding your feet. That, was his. For a moment, his brain reminded him of your lips on Popeâs cheek, your fingers on Bennyâs shoulder, and palm on Redflyâs jaw. The locker door resonated in the quiet room as he slammed it shut. Even your eyes in Ironhead's for just a moment⊠it made him want to kidnap you, press into your space, surround you with his body until all you could see or touch or think about was him. Or maybe it was the opposite. Maybe what he was aching for was for there to be a room full of handsome, athletic, perfect men, and for you to seek him. Find his eyes, and hold them in yours until you reached each other. To choose him.Â
Either. Or maybe both.
Whatever heâd been saying got lost on his tongue.
Benny was looking at him thoughtfully, and Frankie sighed, his anger slowing to a simmer. It was absurd, he knew that. Knowing didnât make it go away, but it helped.
Really, he should be lucky he got any of you at all, that alone was a minor league miracle. Hiking his bag up, he clapped his friend on the shoulder and changed the topic once again.
The smell of dirt and grass and sweaty men faded as they walked out of the room, and when someone made a group chat that included you, Frankie remembered that he liked his friends. The bats in his bag clanged like bells, and Ben said something that made him laugh, and he thought he was a fool to have forgotten it.
-
Santiago was the first one there, over half an hour early, by accident or design you had no idea. He made all of James' things look small, and it made you laugh, because you knew it was only the beginning.
Youâd been added to a group chat a few days ago. The list of total bizarre things happening to you was increasing every day of knowing them but you couldnât exactly complain. It was exciting and honestly, you ached for them in a way you couldnât explain. Seeing Santiago sent sharp excitement through the anxiety of preparation, but even with the handsome man removing his shoes, you couldnât help but check behind him for Francisco.
It had been a joke, sort of. They had invited you out and you retaliated by saying you owed them a meal. You shouldâve known, already, they weren't afraid to take you up on it, and youâd had to use James as your crutch. His house was much bigger than your apartment, and he was so excited to talk to them it was adorable. Before youâd even turned to Santi properly, they were already chatting, and you watched, smiling.
He looked good. It really was almost as if they actually were family â not physically but you could see it in how they interacted. Santi was more cleaned up than heâd been at the bar, thanking your grandfather like it really was an honor to be welcomed into his home. Jimbo was standing as tall as he could to scruff the younger manâs perfect hair, and you laughed as he clarified that they were always welcome, as long as they helped cook. And when Santi grinned, agreeing readily, the line on his forehead smoothed.
The stress of hosting even such strange guests lessened again, and you slipped back into the kitchen.
Not two minutes later, he found you there, and you could feel him watching you, lounging against the door as graceful and powerful as a panther. Slicing vegetables to grill, you let him, for the time being. He would tell you what he was thinking if he wanted to.
It made you smile again, when his large, calloused hands began to make motions for you to let him take over. Determined or maybe even insistent, but not entitled. He mimicked your cuts, checking silently for your approval, and you saw something in his eyes you hadnât noticed before.
Over food and drinks he had been smart and clever and passionate â an idyllic picture for over-ambitious fans. None of that was gone, but there was another layer under it, something distinctly humble, and if your dreams hadnât already been occupied, you mightâve fallen in love with him a little bit. Prepping food to the sounds of quiet music and the rhythmic thumps of the knife against the cutting board felt domestic, but in a familial way. There was no pressure for words, for you, and when he did speak, it seemed as though he agreed.
âThis might sound fu⊠uh, stupid but Iâm glad there arenât bobble heads around.â Of him and his friends, he implied. You wondered if he checked his language for your sake, or out of mindfulness for James.
âHe really respects you guys,â you shrugged. âHeâs always lecturing me on remembering that youâre human, and not overstepping normal people boundaries.â
Pausing your salad assembly, you stole a glance at him, only to find deep brown eyes looking at you curiously. His hand scraped over the stubble on his jaw, and you could almost see his thoughts, running diamonds in his head.
âIs that why you shot Redfly down?â he wasnât looking at you, so he missed the tilt of you head. You didnât need to know the nickname to know what he was talking about, but he clarified a moment later.
You weren't prepared for this to come up, but it shouldnât have surprised you.
âYes and no,â was the most honest answer. âHeâs already got a girl, whether he knows it or not.â You felt good, talking to him, good like laughing, so you did. It was a strange moment, when the teamâs outfield dreamboat had leaned in to kiss you, and you turned him away, but it wasnât weighing on you at all.
Santiago was grinning at you, hands still, and you wondered if this was the first moment the two of you were seeing each other clearly. Biases and judgement and wariness stripped away easily in the kitchen, like the peels of potatoes.
âSo,â his tone and eyes were mischievous, and you had never felt more like an almost stranger was your brother. âIf one of the other guys asked you out, you would consider it?â
Face flaring with heat, you barely contained a squawk. He let out a triumphant noise and you shoved him. There was no doubt he wasnât talking about himself, but you still wanted to melt into the floor.
âDonât think I havenât seen ââ
âShut up shut up shut up!â
Both of you were laughing when the other men pushed through the front door.
Santi answered their raised eyebrows by sticking out his tongue.
-
There was moments all the time in baseball, where when you have the ball and have to choose which opposing player gets to make it safe and who youâre going to try to get out. Itâs a split second where you feel torn in two, and that was exactly how Frankie felt now.
When he had seen you, flushed and laughing, part of him wanted to give a damn thank you speech to Pope for helping bless the world with that, and the other part of him wanted to murder his best friend.
They had all pushed into the little home and he tried to focus on greeting James and looking at the cozy, dated furniture, the humble decorations, clearly cleaned just for them. There had been a moment, where youâd waved at what felt like just him, and his heart rate had doubled. He tried to talk with the guys, the friend you had invited, or help grill or set the table or ⊠anything, but all he wanted was to find you again.
Staying by your side the other night felt as natural and the ball hitting the palm of his glove, time and time again. It was exactly where he was meant to be.
And you were so lovely he wanted you to press into him so close he absorbed just a fraction of your glow. He wanted to wrap you up and take you with him wherever he went, or maybe just settle into your shadow, to follow you forever. It felt greedy, which he didnât really mind, but the problem was that it was unrealistic.
You were working hard to be a good host, floating around, making sure everyone was content, helping, handling things, or happily having heaping helpings of your cooking. There was another game on the TV, and James was telling stories, and his friends had made themselves right at home. In a strange way, it felt like a Sunday with his abuelos, and cousins, casual and comfortable. It was telling, of you, fitting, and he liked that, but it was distinctly missing... you.
Santi found him, listening to James, trying not to look over his shoulder for you, hand twitching to find itâs place on you again. They kept their voices low, trying to be respectful, as they caught up on the last few minutes, hours, days. Frankie felt a pang of guilt, wondering if he had been subconsciously avoiding his friend. There was still some more private communicating they had to do⊠He offered Pope a drive. That would do it.
There was an understanding as the looked at each other, under the music and talk, and clatter of dishes. Will was making James laugh, loud and care-free. The uneasiness settled in his gut â he trusted Santi with his life. He could certainly trust him now, with whatever this was.
Not long after, Frankie found himself being herded through the little house, around tables with glasses and napkins, and back into the little kitchen. There was a reassuring squeeze on his shoulder, and then he was alone with you, for the very first time.
Your eyes were big, staring at him, as you held a pile of dirty dishes.
He wanted to kiss you.
Of course, he didnât, only cursing himself as he awkwardly offered to help. When you shook your head, your hair fluffed, and with the sunlight through the window, he was having trouble remembering how to function.
Frankie was solid, known for being sturdy and safe. Not like Will was, with his ethics and upbringing like roots into the ground, but that of Atlas, supporting the world on his shoulders.
He was the cornerstone of the team, the background man behind the curtain, with hair and eyes and thighs that Santi swore made women swoon.
And he was doing dishes in the kitchen of your grandfathers house, weak in the knees because you had smiled at him, impressed and grateful. His mind was telling at him to talk to you more, to say something interesting or impressive or to make you laugh when he heard you yelp.
The sound was awful, and adrenaline pumped into his blood as he realized you were hurt. Swinging around he didnât see you for a moment before registering you had sat down, hard, and were clutching your wrist. There was a thick line, throbbing and an angry red â burnt.
When his knees hit the tile, he didnât even notice the dull pain. His hands grasped yours as you tried to apologize, explaining the stove was still hot after you had turned it off. Frankie heard you, really he did, but he mind was chanting do something! And stringing Spanish curses, demanding that he protect you, that he fix it. Â
He didnât realize how close he was to you until your eyes found his. it crashed into him the realization that if he leaned forward, tilted his head a bit, and sunk a little lower onto his knees, he could have your mouth against his.Â
Panic slowing, he looked at you. You were so sweet and beautiful, collapsed on the kitchen floor with him like the two of you were the only things in the world, and you were trying to tell him you were fine, that it was a silly accident. Frankie felt ridiculous, caught up in his thoughts, and he just... threw aside logic.
Time stopped, and he kissed the burn.

Reaction to The Devil Judge (spoilers for ep. 9 & 10)
Itâs been a while since iâve last been on tumblr, but i got invested in this drama every week & the fandomâs analyses to not talk about it sometime! (Last time i was hooked, it was with Beyond Evil and i watched it by the time the finale already aired so i didnât suffer from the weekly wait!)
So here i am, this is mainly self-indulgent with essay-long interpretations of some scenes in a totally random order, but iâd love to interact with whoever reads this if they want to react!
Iâm sorry for the potential awkward phrasings, english is not my first language!
- The recap was nicely done and tied everything together, it made me realize so many things happened since the beginning! The repetition didnât make me skip it, the narration was dynamic & fun.
- The âpower displayâ & threat Yohan showed to Soohyun (by lashing out at Juk Chang and strangling him, as proxy for Soohyun, in front of her while staring at her) were something âŠ! She answered in the same fashion, passing by him saying she will âarrest Juk Changâ. I wonder how their next encounters will unfold.
- Many people already pointed this out, but Soohyunâs decision to leave Elijah, a minor, alone in her car (with its doors open, daring to tell her to stay there when she has no other choice anyway) + stop the gang alone and unannounced off duty was irresponsible. Anyways, i wonder if she will interact again with Elijah because they were adorable, i would miss it!
- The conversation between Soohyun & Gaon at his apartment (ep. 10) was interesting on both parts:Â
It sounded casual, but Soohyun wanted to see where he stood in the Kang family and make sure he wasnât in Yohanâs plans (i hope she didnât seriously mean the âweirdâ comment about Elijah, itâd be sad since Elijah enjoyed her company!).
Gaon was anxious professor Min told her about their last conversation (i think sheâll talk to him in the next eps). He also indirectly defended the Kangs by associating himself with them (« Iâm pretty sure iâm just as weird ») and voiced his concern about Yohan, speaking more to himself than following the conversation at hand.Â
When Soohyun changed the subject with the âiâm jealousâ bit, maybe it was to brighten the mood with a light-hearted comment, hoping Gaon would follow. And by the look of her pause right after, it seemed she was also expecting GOâs âpositiveâ reaction to her jealousy, giving in to the kind of teasing/flirt they have in their friendship. But deep down, it was also to voice her true unease about Gaonâs involvement with Yohan she had since the beginning and ep. 8.Â
Itâs obvious to us she meant she was jealous of Yohan. And GO couldâve understood it this way too, since she confessed to him multiple times and her feelings must be known to him (i think he takes it as a âjokeâ given how many times she confessed and each time when he was crying, so maybe he thought, very reasonably, it was to cheer him up? I also guess heâs too absorbed by his current worries about the Kangs and her potential suspicion, to notice her attempts).Â
But instead of that, heâs not in the same line of thoughts at all and picks up on the « rich », musing on what makes oneâs existence rich, thinking Soohyun was envying Yohanâs position and life and proving her heâs indeed in a whole different world, empathizing with Yohan.Â
She then looked like her face fell, until her eyes lit up again when he was about to admit she was precious to him along with his family.
By the way, this scene picks up right where we were left off in ep. 8, when Gaon tends to his plants:
« - Are you back for good? - Not really. They need some looking after. - You should come back, not drop by. This is where you live. - Someone there needs some taking care of too. - Take care of your own self, please. - What about me? Iâm living a shamelessly comfortable life. Soohyun. - Yes? - What are you thinking about? - Nothing. By the way, Gaon ⊠» (i wonder what she was going to say!)
Lost in thoughts, Gaonâs mixed emotions when he said Yohan was not rich (« heâs not rich. If you get to know him, Kang Yohan is really poor. ») were very well depicted by Jinyoungâs acting: the soft voice and the ghost of a smile that convey understanding and endearment, leaning on his counter in a relaxed stance, but also at the same time the stare lost in the space, maybe to all the memories tied to the Kangs and Yohan, and the tension in his left lip corner by the end of his sentence which betray his sadness and empathy with Yohanâs life. After this, when he became aware of Soohyunâs gaze, itâs like his bubble popped. He looked surprised with his eyes widening, and was fidgeting a little, then changed the subject to himself.
And « I have you, Soohyun » sounded truly grateful but also sad and conflicted, GO lets his worries show when sheâs gone, maybe wondering if they would be bound to be against each other one day as he continues to side with Yohan, menacing to jeopardize their friendship to the point of no return. In these kinds of stories you expect these kinds of twists, but i grew fond of the cast send help
- I loved how Yohanâs confession to GO about his brother was filmed: the camera faced head-on his pain, slipping unbeknownst to him through the façade he always showed to protect himself. But this time, despite his (late) attempts to dismiss these feelings both for him and Gaon to regain composure (the hand gestures to hide his tears, pretending to be tough with the  « thereâs no such things as innocent people », drinking away his sorrow with a bitter laugh that rings hollow), all this façade fades out in front of Gaon literally by being blurred out in the shot, as if he clearly sees his pain through (his silhouette appearing clear-cut between Yohanâs gestures). I know itâs a pretty classic shot but it fit well with this scene. He clenches his jaw in the next shot, moved by Yohan opening up.Â
- The dinner scene was really moving âŠ! Especially when you put the colder tones the kitchen had when we first saw Yohan have dinner by himself next to this scene, full of light in contrast! I wonder when the OST playing will be released, it was so beautiful and reminded me of My Misterâs OST (especially Rainbow!). I look forward to the lyrics, because most of the time the OST gives more layers & depth to the story and the characters! (please donât let it be about Yohanâs budding feeling of a true âhomeâ ;;) I didnât realize it upon my first watch, but Gaon really took the cutlery hostage, it cracked me up!
- The parallels in this show will be the end of me: Yohan went from the « iâm so sick of this place » (ep. 5) to asking K to drive him « home » with a delighted smile.Â
- I liked the parallel of Yohanâs reaction to GO/Sun-Ah sitting in his office chair, impeding on his space (he reminds SA to stay out of it, the first time politely, the second time almost grimacing, his jaw clenched: « Just because youâre the head of the OSC doesnât mean you can barge in like this (âŠ) So please stop barging in like this. », while he says nothing to GO)
- At the beginning of ep. 10, we have Yohan saying he doesnât like « hanging out with people » & by the end of it, Soohyun saying « My childhoodâs best friend is hanging out with a rich guy ».
- These two episodes gave more insight and nuance into Sun-Ahâs character, which was very nice ; and also Cha Kyung-Heeâs comeback (and her last confrontation with Sun-Ah!!!!)
- The people following Juk Chang also targeted sexual minorities according to the subs i had, i wonder if it will be addressed again sometime in the drama.Â
- I loved Elijahâs « hacking » technique scene, i felt proud too! I always look forward to her scenes (and Kkomiâs too haha)! And her reaching out Gaonâs shoulder for the first time ;;
- The âhumans lose their minds when they think theyâve lost what they haveâ âŠâŠâŠ repeated twice by YH âŠâŠâŠâŠ It will hit hard and all those lines will come right back at us viewers, but iâm not prepared haha! And also for the âif you want revenge, donât hesitateâ, i hope it doesnât foreshadow a future revenge Gaon will execute without hesitation aaaaaa
Also, what lawyer Ko said about himself in ep. 8 may apply to Yohanâs case by the end, will he atone for what he did someday? (« Iâm no longer a lawyer. Iâm just a criminal. When all this comes to an end, Iâll pay for what i did. »)
- I really loved Yohanâs efforts to take into consideration both Elijahâs (he refrained himself from acting rashly like the last time she went out and listened to her) and Gaonâs feelings (stopping him from endangering himself recklessly, not forcing him onto the revenge path lest heâd regret it afterwards, and helping him to face the truth rationally).Â
- « Sheâs hungry for affection. No matter how much you hate the world and the people in it, you can never live alone. You always need someone to rely on. As long as youâre a human being. » Many people commented on it, Gaon must speak from his own experience and empathizes with both Elijah and Yohanâs situation. These two episodes showed how Gaon cares for the Kangs more openly, and i live for it!Â
- Give me that domestic scene where Gaon plays cards with YH, the nanny and Elijah! And also more K and lawyer Ko scenes!
- Jinjooâs and Gaonâs intervention in the trial were gold! And Satieâs Gnossiennes rearrangement playing in the background during Juk Changâs speech, itâs the cherry on the cake haha
- By the way, there was also an arrangement of Rachmaninoffâs piano concerto no. 2 during the first charity event Yohan went with Jinjoo in the earlier episodes, it was also beautiful!
- GOâs Awkward Smile. I have no words, it is now forever imprinted on my mind.
Have a nice week and take care!

I love you, please donât break my heart
Pairing: Spencer Reid x fem!Reader
Description: Falling in love is stupid, or it was until you met him.
Warnings: implied sexÂ
Word Count: 1.5k
Some people can name the exact moment that they fell in love. Growing up you thought that was stupid. It seemed impossible to look at somebody one day and just know. It seemed impossible to fall in love with someone. You didnât believe it was natural to want to give everything to someone, to be emotionally tied to one person for the rest of your life. Your cynical thoughts as a child persisted through adolescence and adulthood. You never had a relationship that lasted more than a few weeks and would often settle for meaningless hookups. You didnât believe in falling in love. Not until you met him.
Your relationship with Dr. Spencer Reid started like any others. You met him at a bar (classy right?) and he took you back to his place. Itâs a routine for you, new guy every weekend, hook up, sneak out, repeat. Which is exactly why youâre surprised when that routine is broken. You donât know what happened but you woke up too late and the space next to you was empty.
You entered a state of panic, a flutter of curse words slipping quietly past your lips. You quickly scrambled around the room, picking up your abandoned clothes and slipping them on. You all but ran out of the vaguely familiar bedroom only to stop dead in your tracks at the sight in front of you.
Spencer was standing in front of the toaster, shirtless, spreading raspberry jelly on a piece of bread. The delicious smell of brewing coffee overcomes all of your senses and you start moving forward before you even realize what youâre doing. The loud creak of the floorboard is what inevitably catches Spencerâs attention.
âI didnât want to wake you,â he starts. âI umm...made breakfast. Iâm not a good cook but I made toast.â Heâs nervous, that much is clear to you and you canât help but find it slightly endearing.
You donât know how to respond. This goes against a system that you have kept up since you can remember. You rarely stay the night and never stay for breakfast. But the smile he gives you, the way his eyes light up, and the awkward gesture toward the plate sitting on the counter, make the tiniest crack on your walls, but itâs enough to convince you. You smile back at him and walk the rest of the way into the kitchen, grabbing the pot of coffee and preparing a cup for yourself. You take it black, and the disgusted look on Spencerâs face makes you let out a small laugh. You sit together and make conversation, somehow managing not to mention the intercourse of the night before. His eyes speak a thousand words though and you find yourself flushing under his intense gaze.
Noon comes far too fast and you leave his apartment with his number and a promise to meet again.
. . .
You go on four dates with Spencer before you realize how serious your relationship with him is getting. It should bother you, it should make you want to block his number and forget about him. You entertain the thought for a while before shaking your head. You donât want to forget about him. Without you even realizing Spencer has been breaking down each of your walls one by one and you donât find yourself caring.
Your phone rings and a picture of Spencer with the biggest grin on his face lights up your screen. You eagerly answer the call and accept Spencerâs offer to come by his apartment after his flight lands.
Forty minutes later youâre standing in front of his apartment, your fist raised about to knock on his door when he opens it.
âHi.â He breathes out.
âHi.â You match his smile. He pulls you inside and into a kiss, mumbling against your lips how much he missed you and for once in your life, you find yourself feeling the same. You allow him to push you against the wall as you thread your fingers through his messy hair. He pulls back and pulls you to his couch, holding you close to him. He looks exhausted, and you want to ask him about the case but you know heâll talk about it when heâs ready. Right now he just needs a distraction and you are more than happy to provide him with one. Â
You suggest a movie, saying the first title that comes to mind. The change in his demeanor is instantaneous. His eyes light up and he starts gesturing with his hands as he goes on a tangent about the director and the history of the movie and you smile. You lean your head on his shoulder, your eyes fluttering upwards to gaze at him. And in that moment, you know. Your heart stops at the realization.
You finally understand the way you feel whenever he gets so excited when talking about statistics or random facts he knows. You understand the feeling in your chest when the he scrunches his nose when he is in deep thought, the butterflies in your stomach because he always asks for your opinion and never makes assumptions of you. You understand why you are so entranced by his laugh, his humor, his radiant personality, and the way he just seems to bring life to every situation. You can finally explain the never-ending happiness he makes you feel.
You are unbelievably, irrevocably in love with him. And God youâre terrified.
You donât know what to say. Heâs stopped talking and is now studying you, silently asking if thereâs something wrong. You shake your head and lean forward to grab the remote. You try to ignore the tightness in your chest as his fingers subconsciously trail down to your thigh and start to draw random figures on it.
You love him but you canât tell him.
Not yet.
You wonder if he knows. If he can feel your heart beating erratically or see the look in your eyes. Maybe he can read it on your face, heâs always been able to know what youâre thinking with just one look.
I love you Spencer Reid. I love you. Do you know that? I need you to know that.
Your head is screaming at you and you can hardly concentrate on the movie playing in front of you.
You wonder how he will react if you tell him. Will he say it back? Will he reject you? Will he confirm your fears that you are not worth it. That you are not good enough to have an epic love story. Just like your mother wasnât.
I love you Spencer Reid. Please donât break my heart.
. . .
You donât tell him until a month later.
Youâre sitting on a picnic blanket at the park with him. He is looking up, pointing out different clouds. You are not gazing at the clouds but are however admiring the way he looks. He is leaning back on his hands, his purple button up shirt rolled up just above his elbows. Heâs smiling, completely entranced by the captivating sky and heâs relaxed, calm, for a single moment not worrying about the monsters hiding in the dark. Heâs happy. The angle of the sun hits perfectly and lightens his face with an angelic glow. He looks nothing less of ethereal. You are mesmerized by the man sitting in front of you and you have this strange need to paint him, to capture this perfect moment in the way only an artist is capable of doing. You apparently allow yourself to ogle him for too long because he turns to you with a confused grin before speaking.
âWhat?â He lets out a small, adorable laugh and the words tumble out of your mouth before you can stop them.
âI love you.â He pauses. The peaceful atmosphere breaks and you avert your eyes, not wanting to see his reaction. You feel the infinity of milliseconds between each second. An eternity passes by again, and again, and again. You find yourself counting in your head.
Point zero-one. Point zero-one-two.
Your mathematical tangent is interrupted by a featherlight touch on your chin. You allow Spencer to move your head but you still refuse to meet his eyes. Â
âI love you too.â
The world stops. Your eyes snap to his and heâs grinning. A beautiful, dazzling smile that knocks the breath from your lungs.
You kiss him.
You kiss him because itâs the only thing you can think to do in that moment. Your brain has stopped functioning and youâre not one hundred percent sure your heart is still beating. But you donât care, if you die, you canât think of a better way to go, because Spencer Reid loves you. You and only you. You both pull away wearing similar lovesick smiles.
The atmosphere changes but at the same time it doesnât change at all. The feelings have always been there, the only difference is that they have now been spoken. They are out in the open and the air around you whispers the words back hoping to engrave the passionate moment of declared love into the earth forever.
Spencer looks back up at the sky and points out another cloud, a bunny riding a motorcycle, and you allow yourself to lean against him as you peer up at the sky.

Say My Name and Iâll Be There:Â 6.2
Il Dottore entered your cell early the next morning and was followed by Childe. Â "Rise! Â It is the beginning of your contribution to Snezhnayan society!" Â His entire demeanor reeked with a vivid excitement despite the bland atmosphere that sat within the cell.
But you, on the other hand, just looked blankly at him. Â After all the crying you did yesterday, your determination and perseverance had renewed somewhat. Â The bags under your eyes were still puffy and blotched with red. Â Your skin felt dry and chapped long after the tears dried.
Your lack of enthusiasm seemed to upset the man, and he frowned. Â He pulled an abnormally large syringe out of his coat pocket. Â "I had a feeling you'll resist, so we'll make do with mild paralysis, yes?" Â Your gaze slid to the tool that had to be as long as his own forearm.
Childe reacted when you shifted your attention to him. Â "I believe this is the last we'll see each other, ojou-chan," he spoke as Dottore approached you. Â "It's a shame we'll have to part ways like this, but have comfort in knowing our banters and battles were entertaining while they lasted."
"Stop." Â You flinched as Dotorre grabbed your chained arm. Â "I-I won't resist." That needle was large. Did it have to be that big? Â Was it really necessary? Â And the amount of liquid inside it--simply terrifying to look at. Â "I won't resist." Â You even made a point to hold still, but to no avail. Â He wasn't going to stop.
"Remember what I said, ojou-chan. Â I gave you a way out of this rough treatment." Â The needle jabbed into your forearm, making you wince in pain as your eyes pleaded for Childe's help. Â
Panic had begun to set in. Â "Get off of me!" Â You pushed at Il Dottore. Â The force in your hands did nothing, and you quickly realized in complete horror that you were already losing feeling in your limbs. Â What quick reflexes you had were now achingly slow and uncoordinated. Â The harbinger stood and proceeded to carelessly toss the empty syringe onto the other end of the cell.
"Go ahead and escort her," Dottore called out for two Fatui agents in the hall. Â They lifted your heavy body and began to drag you out of the cell.
"Wait! Â You can't do this! Â Tartaglia, please!" Â Your screams echoed once you were pulled into the hallway. Â The useless kicks of protest were weak against gravity. Â "Stop this!"
"This is goodbye, ojou-chan." Â Something humane and hesitant flickered in his eyes, but he saw you off with an ominous grin.
..........................................................
Despite Diluc's apparent dislike towards Kaeya, Aether invited him on their mission anyway. Â Things got heated pretty quickly, but Paimon managed to cool them down by insulting both of them whenever they got too heated.
It was day two of their caravan journey disguised as simple merchants. Â Diluc manned the wagon while Kaeya walked along its left side, Xiao on the right, and Aether in the back. Â Zhongli was scouting ahead, but stated he would not intervene once the group reached Snezhnaya. Â They had barely managed to cross Fontaine's border without being detected by border patrol. Â The weather here was more humid than that of Liyue or Mondstat.
"To think I would get such a humble request from the Hero of Mondstat," Â Kaeya spoke loud enough to get on Diluc's nerves. Â "I never would have thought such a strong individual would need a Knight of Favonius. Â Must be desperate times." Â Diluc grumbled something under his breath, but kept his focus on the dirt path. Â His hands were holding onto the reins a little too tight.
"We thought you'd be able to help us with diplomatic stuff since you're a Knight," Paimon admitted. Â "You might be able to get us into the palace, right?"
"It's possible, but I wouldn't count on it," the knight shrugged carelessly. Â
"We wouldn't dream of it," Diluc scoffed.
"Oh? Â And is that because I'm associated with the Knights, or," Kaeya tested, "because you feel threatened by my presence?"
"You're as unreliable as them," Diluc retorted with a frown, finally facing his adopted brother. Â "You fit right in with that group of--"
"NGH!" Â Xiao doubled over from an unforeseen searing pain that tore through his chest. Â He knelt to the ground and clutched at his sternum. Â
"Xiao!" Â Paimon and Aether ran toward him. Â Zhongli, who was returning from his position to report back to the team, heard the shouts and came running. Â Diluc stopped the caravan, and he and Kaeya joined the duo next to the yaksha.
"Haah...hah..." Â Xiao heaved, sweat beading at the top of his forehead. "Tch." Â The pain had just begun to subside when another one replaced it, this time in his shoulders. Â Then his legs. Â Then his back. Â He was practically seeing spots by the time Zhongli reached him. Â "Don't touch me!" Â He swatted the air around him similar to that of a wounded animal. Â "Urk..."
"What's hurting you?" Â Zhongli observed the yaksha's behavior carefully. Â He suffers from chronic pains, but I have yet to see him react so harshly. Â "Do I need to get your medication?"
"I-I'm fine," he assured even though it was obvious the opposite was true. Â His labored breathing brought concerned looks to everyone.
"You should rest in the wagon," Diluc spoke. Â Then he turned to Aether. Â "Is he well enough to accompany us?"
"Your eyes," Zhongli knelt before Xiao, "are glowing." Â Like hers.
"So?" Â I don't need useless observations of my pain. Ugh... Â It doesn't compare to my past injuries, but it's enough to upset my stomach. Â What is this? Â His eyes frantically flit around the group's surroundings only to find nothing out of the ordinary. Â Was I poisoned somewhere along the way? Â I did not consume human food. Â There was that merchant awhile back--
"Xiao," Zhongli snapped him out of his thoughts. Â Once he regained the yaksha's attention, he repeated his words. Â "When was the last time you took your pain killers?"
"This morning," he groaned. Â "This doesn't happen." Â The sun's cool rays suddenly acted like they were burning him alive.
"Have you heard anything from her?"
"Not in the past two days." Â The pain is subsiding. Â Xiao's shoulders slowly began to relax as he continued to try and steady his breathing.
"Do you hear anything now? Â Perhaps recall random memories, or visions?" Â This is the second newest side effect in the past three days...what could they possibly be doing to trigger this reaction in the two of them? Â First, an emotional mirroring, and now with pain? Â What are they tormenting her with?
"No. Â It's just pain."
"I see."
"It's gone now," Â Xiao stood abruptly, ignoring the swaying earth beneath his feet. Â Kaeya was about to grab his shoulder to steady him when Xiao's vision was obscured by red and yellow splotches. Â His legs gave way from under him.
..........................................................
"A nerve agent seems to react well with your eyes," Dottore chuckled, and he set the remaining syringe on the top of a stand to his left.
You couldn't really talk anymore, but your illuminated irises and the tears that streamed down your cheeks said plenty about the situation. Â Your arms and legs were tied down with leather restraints, and your convulsing body lay atop a metal operating bench. Â From what you could make out, this place was some type of arena, but Dottore didn't make you fight monsters of the abyss like you initially thought he would.
You would've preferred it if that were the case.
"Now I'll ask again," Dottore grinned manically and moved his face close to yours. Â "How much do you know about your condition?" Â His hair swayed as if to portray his sick enthusiasm.
"Nothing," you sobbed quietly. Â Finally, the immense pain jolting through your bones was subsiding. Â Relief washed over your twitching limbs similar to that of the tide.
"Childe told me you knew about our plans. Â What did you think those were?"
When he began to reach for another syringe, you stopped him. Â "Just that you want whatever's in my blood."
"Do you know the powers you possess?" Â You shook your head. Â "Haah..." Dottore sighed. Â "Another lie." Â He picked a new syringe up and tapped the excess liquid that spewed out of it. Â "We are not fully aware of each aspect to your predicament; if we had the two of you here, we wouldn't need to pull the information out of you. Â This would be much easier if you told me the truth of what you know. Â That way, we wouldn't have a reason to test every substance on you, yes?"
"I don't know anything."
"Round three it is, then."
................................................
"ALATUSSS!" Â You screamed, now delirious from the never-ending onslaught of pain that you've been through for the past several hours. Â Il Dottore paused his sadistic torture as if a light bulb had gone off in his head.
"Now that is a name you haven't yelled before," a slow smile crept upon his face as he watched your chest heave from exhaustion. Â "Who is this 'Alatus?'"
"P-please," you whimpered. Â You were drenched in sweat and tears now.
"How does round ten sound to you?"
"No," you whimpered helplessly, what's left of your fighting spirit finally shattering to pieces.
"Now now, Dottore," a woman's voice rang through the arena. Â "We don't want her dying on us. Â She's our only shot at this." Â Signora came into view, and she eyed you like a piece of meat. Â "Oh dear, you look tired." Â Another tear dripped in response to her mocking tone. Â Tension rose in your body yet again when she came to your side and examined you with cold eyes. Â
"She's not under your jurisdiction, Signora," Dottore shrugged. Â "If she had just given me the answers I was looking for, we would skip this step entirely. Â But if she insists, I have no problem with torture."
"Oh?" Â Signora narrowed her eyes at you. Â "So then, who is Alatus, little one? Â All this suffering would be over if you answer our questions." Â She gently swiped the hair out of your face, a gesture that heavily contradicted the predatory expression on her face.
More tears rolled down the sides of your face as you stared back at her. Â It hurts...everything hurts so bad, Xiao. Â I can't fight... You choked down a sob and looked away from the harbingers. Â I'm so tired...
"Resume your interrogation tomorrow. Â She's drained."
Dottore grumbled something under his breath as he set aside his next syringe. Â "Guards! Hurry up and untie her already!" Â His subordinates immediately did as they were told, fearful of not moving fast enough to the harbinger's liking. Â They dragged your limp body back to your cell. Â
You were too exhausted to resist.

The Miys, Ch. 142
Another late chapter... Iâm really batting a thousand lately, seems like.
So, work has been insane, but @baelpenrose reminds me to post when I forget, thankfully. And this is SUCH a fun chapter. I hope you all enjoy!
I dropped into a seat in Mess Hall Seven with a groan, so exhausted that I barely managed to get soup and a grilled cheese from the console. Tyche yawned and nodded in agreement before poking at her sushi bowl idly. It was six Von-days after the last drill, and between coordinating increased training schedules for Shelters Three and Seven and helping Charly plan kink-night at the Undine, we were wiped.
âPeople are ungrateful,â she muttered before managing to barely balance a piece of salmon into her mouth.
I muttered something that hopefully sounded like agreement before I scooped up a bite of my soup with one wedge of sandwich, too lazy to even bother with the spoon. âRemind me why we donât have Vati and Hannah handling the practice schedules?â
âBecause they are handling the extra evacuation drills with Jokul and Arthur.â
Personally, I thought they were getting the better end of this deal, but since the raging success of their first Food Festival, it really was only fair. âAnd the relocations for those who need it,â I admitted. âExcept mine.â
âConor may actually strangle one of them if any of your plants donât make it,â she pointed out, gesturing with her chopsticks for emphasis after having given up and using her fingers to eat her lunch. âNot to mention I wouldnât wish packing with Maverick on anyone.â
âHeâs letting me pack the books and textiles.â I shrugged in acceptance after taking another bite of soup-dipped sandwich.
We picked at our food in silence after that, grateful for something resembling a reprieve, before we were interrupted by a flurry of grey hair and enthusiasm landing in one of the nearby chairs with a heavy thunk. âGood afternoon, Madams Reid.â
âHey, Jokul,â I muttered as Tyche just waggled her fingers at him. I really think I liked it better when he was trying to kill me. Right now, I might even let him do it.
âI know you are both on your meal period, but I wanted to test the waters on potentially scheduling a community activity,â he rushed out.
Tyche guarded her lunch with an almost feral aggression, having heard what happened the last time Jokul had interrupted my lunch. âThat should really be something you run by Al-â
âWorthington, yes, I know,â he interrupted. âHowever, I know you are both quite busy and I wanted to be respectful of your time. As such, I will make this as brief as - ow!â He snatched his hand back away from the other half of my sandwich, rubbing where I had slammed my spoon down onto it.
âI have no idea where the food stealing comes from, but donât,â I warned him.
âRude, got it,â he nodded in a terrifying impression of Charlyâs normal demeanor. âAs I was saying, I recently learned a new type of game from Terra, from the Before. It involves teamwork, and encourages creativity and escapism, and I think it would be a very good community activity - â
I surrendered to my urge to groan. âWe are not doing a redux of Settlers of Cattan. Arthur stabbed someone last time.â
âI didnât press chargesâŠâ Jokul pouted, glancing at the scar on the back of his wrist briefly. âBesides, it was only a fork. Clearly he didnât mean it, there were four knives in arms reach counting my own.â
Tyche cocked an eyebrow at me. Seriously?
I pursed my lips and wrinkled my nose in response. Yep.
âSo what game is it this time?â I asked hesitantly.
I was reward-bombarded with a grin. âItâs called Dungeons and Dragons! Somewhat like a video game, but with more people, and using writing implements and paper. Oh, and different kinds of dice, very important. One person is something of the narrator, to give the game a kind of structure, while the other players act as characters in the game⊠Ivan introduced me to it, and it is quite challenging with the right people. The dungeon master - that is the narrator - has to re-evaluate the story based on the actions of the other players, but the players themselves donât know what the dungeon master is going to do. It is very much a social diversion, and there are many classesâŠ.â
As Jokul continued to gush, he was rather oblivious to the fact that Tyche and I were stuffing our faces as quickly as possible to avoid interrupting him or laughing. We had both played when we were younger - in fact, we had been introduced to the game by our mother. There had even been a very overwhelming pop-culture movement in our youth around the game, which further emphasized just how far out in the boonies Jokul had grown up. As shocking as it was that he was just now discovering the game, it came at exactly zero surprise that he enjoyed it so much - it was right up his alley of interests.
About fifteen minutes and two more grilled cheeses into his retelling of the campaign he was part of, Charly and Arthur squeezed in with us, their own lunches in tow. As seemed to be a growing trend, Arthur reached over and snagged one of my sandwiches before I could react, shoving half of it in his face.
That was apparently enough to snap Jokul out of his story. âHey! Why didnât you hit him?â
âHis deathwish, not my problem,â I shrugged.
Around the remains of my lunch, Arthur managed to enunciate. âTold you, Noah fissed the dairy allergy.â
âBleargh,â I gagged comically. âItâs okay, think Iâm done anyway.â
Jokulâs hand swatted Arthurâs out of the way to steal the rest of my food. âAs I was saying, Ivan was quite clever with his resolution to deal subdural damage to the player who was very much ruining the storyline by insisting his character was immune to magical sleepâŠâ
âOooooo! I love tabletops!â Charly squealed, bouncing in her seat. âWhat setting are you playing in right now? My favorite was always ExaltedâŠâ
âMiss Harper, I think we are discussing different activities.â Jokul sounded supremely confused, but my heart broke a bit.
Arthur shook his head. âMaybe not Exalted, but what about Ebberron? Swordhaven, maybe? Just tell me it isnât Ravenloft⊠I know you havenât been fucking around in a Dark Sun, but I beg you to tell me you arenât playing Ravenloft.â
âIâm not sure what those are⊠Ivan introduced me to Dungeons and Dragons. There is only one setting.â
âSo⊠Greyhawk or homebrew,â Arthur nodded. âBest place to start, get the basics down.â
Jokulâs head pivoted toward me and Tyche, squinting in annoyance. âYou knew, didnât you? And you let me prattle onâŠâ
âYou were so⊠happyâŠ.â I explained plaintively. âWe didnât want to ruin that for you.â
Tyche nodded. âWe both remember how fun that first campaign is. And honestly? Weâve been having a kind of crappy day. It was nice to hear someone be excited about something that isnât work related.â
âBut I came to you to discuss making it a ship activityâŠâ
âOriginally, yeah,â I shrugged. âThat was maybe the first thirty seconds. After that, you were doing what literally every tabletop roleplaying person has done since the beginning of time⊠telling stories about the fun, dramatic, and frankly stupid shit the people in your party are doing.â
âSays the two-foot eight halfling rogue,â Arthur scowled.
âI rolled it at random, it was fifteen years ago, get over it!â I threw my hands up dramatically. âAt least I wasnât mated to a frickinâ deity.â
Charly giggled uncontrollably while Jokul goggled at us. âExalted is broken in all the fun ways.â
âYou literally sacrificed, and I quote âall of your fucks to giveâ, for necromancy.â
âThat was your idea!â
Jokul turned toward Tyche, waiting for her to say something. She just held up her hands defensively. âI was a murder monk-bunny.â
Arthur snorted. âYou were the Black Rabbit of InleâŠ.â
âWell if my wife would have just stopped dyingâŠ!â
âAt least none of us were the Platinum Knight who pissed his pants every time he confronted his favored enemy,â I laughed. âHe never did live that one down. Every. Single. Dragon. He would crit fail his roles.â
âOh, please,â Arthur intoned drily. âDid I ever tell you about the time one of my players managed to make âNotice me, Senpaiâ into the most terrifying in-universe warcry imaginable?â
Charly choked before swatting his shoulder. âNot in front of my pasta. Please.â
Jokul, however, looked both horrified and intrigued, egging Arthur on. âBarbarian whose entire clan worshipped a god named The SenpaiâŠ. Just imagine, a barbarian in a rage, bellowing âNOTICE ME, SENPAI!!!â before just scything down thirty men with a broadsword.â
At this point, I was laughing so hard that tears were rolling down my face. âPlease, please tell me there was a kilt and pigtails involvedâŠ.â
Jokul touched his own hair, before straightening as seriously as possible. âThey are warriorâs braids, Councillor.â
That was it, I couldnât take it anymore. I just put my head down on my folded arms and waiting to either pass out from laughing so hard or from exhaustion. A few deep breaths and a spinning head later, I managed to wipe my face on my sleeve and realized the conversation was continuing without me. Just as I was clearing my throat to let Jokul know he should be fine to start organizing something and to send me a rough outline, Arthur dealt the final blow.
Leaning over, he whispered over my shoulder. âBy the way, the barbarianâs name was Drystan of the Doki-doki tribe.â
I was proud that I managed to get up and dash into the hallway before collapsing against the wall in maniacal laughter. I barely registered Hannahâs voice behind me asking everyone at the table if I needed medical assistance, and that did not help.

jealous scenarios are my specialty, enjoy this mix of angst and fluff ;)

Today was a pretty big day for Nekoma. Though it wasnât any big championship game, it was the first game the boys were getting to play since winter break.
The entire bus ride to the school the boys seemed to be overly hyped up, singing all sorts of songs and shouting in excitement.
You couldnât help but look back at the team as they all sang and cheered while you remained up at the front of the bus sitting next to Coach Nekomata.
Normally you would choose to sit next to your boyfriend, Kuroo Tetsuro, but it turned out the captain wanted to give you a rundown of the school since you were the teamâs manager.
And besides, you figured Kuroo should be sitting with his teammates and joining in on the hype since he was part of the team and the captain at that.
But just because you were sitting far away that didnât mean you didnât steal a few glances and winks on the bus ride there. Each time you glanced back when it got obnoxiously loud his hazel cat like eyes would be on you, his lips curved in a lazy smirk.
Feeling your cheeks warm up you would just scrunch your nose at him and smile before whipping your head back to the coach next to you.
The two of you usually always sat together on the way back since everyone was typically asleep by then so you just had to wait till then. For you, it was worth the wait.
As much as you loved the teamâs loud shenanigans and energy, two hours of it was a bit exhausting. Once you felt the bus jolt to a stop you were the first to jump up with a relieved sigh, the feeling of fresh air hitting your face would surely be a relief.
âAlright boys grab your bags and letâs head inside so we can greet our team and get started with warming up.â Coach Nekomata shouted over the noise, causing the team to fall silent before they all shouted a yes in understanding.
Once the coach nodded to you a smile crept on your face, ready to be out of the cursed bus. Thanking the driver with a small bow you grabbed your small bag and dashed down the steps as the doors opened.
Sure enough the feeling of the warm sun hitting your face mixed with the cool winter air felt like heaven. The wind dancing through your (h/c) locks let your neck cool off a bit from the cramped up bus.
Though you were expecting the wind to hit your face as you stepped off the bus, what you werenât expecting was a hard surface to smack against your face. It honestly felt like a wall but when you stepped back to rub your head you soon found out it was a body.
Blinking up at the boy as you glanced at him through your fingers that were rubbing your forehead, you let out a gasp in surprise before quickly bowing down repeatedly in apology.
âIâm so sorry that was my fault! I shouldâve looked both ways before I hopped off the bus I was just really-â
The feeling of fingers grabbing your chin caused you to silence as they gently pulled your bent over figure upwards, the boy making you tilt your forehead up towards his own.
âDonât apologize that was my fault for standing too close, are you alright love?â
For a few seconds all you could do was stare with widened eyes, how could such a large scary looking guy be so gentle? When the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs of the bus were heard thatâs when you realized just how close your face was to his own.
Quickly swatting his hand away you jumped back a few feet and lifted your hands up nervously, âI..Iâm okay! D..Donât worry on my account.â
Your eyes were quick to move towards the door of the bus, what you were dreading was already playing out before your very eyes.
Kuroo was glaring down towards the boy, moving quickly to jump off the steps and stand between you and this random boy.
Of course he saw everything that happened.
âAre you on the team playing us today?â Kuroo spoke in a chillingly neutral tone. The sound made you dread the talk he was going to give you once you got inside.
The boy you had run into seemed unfazed, he simply smiled and nodded before holding his hand out, âI am indeed, Iâm the team captain Fumihiro Hebi.â
The sight of your boyfriend smiling down to the boy had goosebumps running down your skin, he was the type that was scarier silent than full out yelling.
âKuroo TetsurĆ, a pleasure to meet you.â
You were hoping one of the boys would help break the awkward tension as they both shook each otherâs hands firmly but they looked as lost as you were. And of course Coach Nekomata had already walked inside so it was up to you.
âWell we better get going! Donât wanna be late for warmups!â You exclaimed as you smacked your clipboard against Kurooâs arm to get his attention.
Fumihiro seemed unfazed by this, simply smiling and nodding as your team slowly started to make their way in the school.
You followed next to Kuroo, refusing to look him in the eye as you held on tight to your clipboard. The feeling of his hand snatching your own with an iron grip had to let out a slight yelp before you hunched your shoulders down.
Surely Fumihiro saw the action which made you internally sigh in relief, hopefully he would back off now. Your only problem now was dealing with your clearly pissed off boyfriend.
-
The game was about to start in five minutes. The other team looked fairly good sure, but they stood no chance against Nekoma. Honestly you were glad, the team could use a win before they jumped into training season.
While you helped the other team manager set up you kept a close eye on Kuroo, he seemed okay but still off. You were on the debate on whether you should say something. He remained quiet the entire way into the school so you hadnât said a word since, but you knew if the captain was off then the entire team would too.
You felt your heart race as your team did their last few drills, should you say something or not?
As the sound of the whistle blew you jumped, realizing you had run out of time to even talk to him as the players began lining up from either side of the net.
âThank you for the game!â Each side shouted as the captains, coaches, and managers met in the middle for the coin toss.
You couldnât help but glance back and forth between the captains, their eyes drilling into one another as you bit your lip and your leg bounced nervously.
âIt has landed on tails, home team gets to decide.â The referee spoke causing Kuroo to huff as the other captain smirked.
âWe choose to start on offense.â Fumihiro spoke smoothly before he smirked down to you and winked, âAfter all I like our wins to be quick and easy.â
Blushing in surprise you gasped when Kuroo stomped away back to his team. You attempted to shout his name but he simply ignored you. Glancing toward Coach Nekomata he was already shaking his head with a worried expression.
âThis wonât be good.â
-
Sure enough the first round ended with Nekoma at a horrible defeat, 15-25. As they were in the second round tied at 17-17 you couldnât help but cringe as you watched Nekoma all over the place.
One thing you prided yourself on about Nekoma was the way they could move like they were dancing in sync, the way they communicated sometimes even without saying a word. They always moved with grace and skill.
But today that wasnât the case.
Kuroo wasnât a very loud person when he was angry, which made the entire situation worse. Every time the other team scored he would just growl and grit his teeth, glaring into the eyes of that stupid cocky jerk of a captain on the other side.
You hated this, all of it. Usually your boyfriend was dripping in confidence to the point where it was almost annoying. You had never quite seen this side of him.Â
Even Kenma attempted to talk to him but he simply shooed his friend away. When Kuroo missed another block for about the twentieth time today you finally snapped.
âTimeout!â You shouted causing both teams to glance at your bright red face. Only now, it was red out of anger.
The referee looked at you in confusion since Managerâs usually didnât get to decide but Coach Nekomata was quick to nod behind you and make the timeout hand gesture.
As the team began to walk towards you to the bench, you felt the coach place his hand on your shoulder, âTalk some sense into that boy so we donât lose this simple game.â
Glancing back at him you nodded, looking over and scanning all the faces until your eyes fell on your boyfriendâs own annoyed once. Gritting your teeth you grabbed his wrist and yanked him down the court towards the double doors of the hallway.
Of course even with all your strength you wouldnât be able to drag him so that meant he mustâve gave in to your request as he shuffled behind you.
Slamming your body agains the door you swung it open and dragged Kuroo into the hallway with you.
âWhat the hell TetsurĆ?â You hissed, the sound of his full name reaching your lips causing him to frown before raising an annoyed brow.
âWhat are you so pissed off about (F/n)? Yeah weâre losing theyâre a good fucking team, just focus on their stupid pretty boy captain if you donât wanna see us lose.â
That very sentence had your blood boiling as your mouth dropped wide, the two of you had been dating for six months and he had the nerve to tell you that?
The fact that he couldnât even look you in the eye felt like a stab to the chest. Gritting your teeth you felt your body move before your brain could react as you slapped him square across the cheek.
In any other circumstance you wouldâve frozen in shock, but when his wide eyes glanced down at you from the slap you felt you had to speak. To say something now that you had him back in reality.
âT..Tetsu why would you say that?â You muttered, pain laced in your voice as you bit your lip to fight the warm tears that were beginning to flood your vision, âYou know Iâm your girlfriend!â
Kurooâs face remained stern but he still kept his eyes on you, âWell you didnât seem to bothered when he moved your face close to his or when he started flirting you up.â
"I literally slapped his hand away as soon as I could! He took me by surprise is all!â You shouted in defense, your voice echoing through the empty halls.
Kuroo glanced down to you with a blank expression before looking out the window of the door to see the timeout was almost out of time.
âLook we can talk about this after the game (L/n)..â Kuroo spoke with little emotion as he began walking towards the door.
You blinked in surprise, this was the first time he ever ignored you. After every fight he made sure to apologize even if it wasnât his fault. Was he really that jealous of that stupid captain?
The sight of his back turned to you made you feel sick inside, it felt like he was walking away from your entire relationship. This... you couldnât let this happen. Screw the stupid volleyball game, this was about losing the man you loved.
âTETSURĆ I LOVE YOU.â
As you shouted those words off the top of your lungs you noticed Kuroo freeze in his steps towards the door, he looked back at you with widened eyes whispering something but you couldnât see over the streams of tears running down your cheeks.
âI..I love you stupid TetsurĆ... I love you I love you I love you, and I wonât stop saying it until-â
Your words were cut off when a pair of lips smashed against your own, your eyes widened in surprise for a moment only for you to melt into the kiss as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
The kiss was brief, but passionate. It held every bit of emotion the two of you had been holding back these past few hours and it felt good to finally be released.
Pulling away Kuroo flashed you one of his rare genuine smiles as he used his thumb to wipe away the few tears on your cheek.
âI love you too (F/n)â Kuroo muttered placing one more kiss on the tip of your nose causing you to giggle, âIâm sorry I was acting like a dick, I guess this whole time I was just scared you didnât feel the same way and when that asshole touched you I just-â
âDonât even speak of it,â You muttered, your hand cupping his cheek as you smiled up to him softly, âYouâre the only one I love Kuroo TetsurĆ so donât even waste your breath on that jerk.â
The boy before you smile as he pulled you into one more tight embrace before your grinned up to him, âNow go make that stupid captain ever regret challenging you Tetsu.â
Kuroo smirked at this as he held your hand in his own and nodded, both of you walking out those doors with a new confidence in your relationship you never had before.
-
The last two games were over almost quicker than the first round. Kurooâs confidence lifted the team as always and they were back in their usual flow to take the game by storm.
Coach Nekomata was more than pleased as the boys all cheered, feeling this victory for many reasons. He walked towards you and bowed slightly before grinning up to you.
âThanks for saving the game (L/n), Iâm glad you two love birds are on an âI love youâ basis now.â
You smiled and bowed to him until he finished the last part of his sentence, your body freezing as you jumped back in surprise.
âY..You heard that?â
The coach simply chuckled and crossed his arms, âThe whole gym did, you really had the crowd going with that slap.â
You couldnât help but feel your cheeks heat up as you laughed sheepishly, âI..It was in the heat of the moment.â
Honestly mixed with the embarrassment you felt, you also were happy that everyone heard. Let it be known that you and Kuroo loved each other.
The sight of your team all hugging had you smiling brightly, it was always nice watching them after a win. Your eyes caught with Kurooâs, his hazel eyes shining brightly down to you.
You were about to jog on the court and give him a celebratory hug but the sound of your name being called had you whipping your head towards the doors.
The other teamâs manager was standing by them, waving you over. Smiling you nodded and trotted to her, but not without a pair of hazel eyes following your body with suspicion.
-
âWhatâs up Aiko-chan?â You asked with a smile as she led you outside, she looked a bit nervous which had you on edge.
Once you stepped out into the afternoon air your body froze at the sight of Fumihiro standing there with his arms crossed, stupid smirk on his face.
âAiko why did you-â Before you could finish you looked around to see she had already shuffled back inside the gym leaving you to sigh.
You glanced back to Fumihiro only for him to gently lead you back into the wall of the gym as he placed his hand behind your head against the gym wall.
âNice save back there, wouldâve been a shame if you lost that temperamental boyfriend of yours.â
Your eyes widened as you felt yourself growing more uncomfortable by the second. Forcing a smile you attempted to slide the opposite way to move further from him.
âThat wasnât exactly a save, I really do love my boyfriend and I meant it.â
Suddenly Fumihiroâs other hand slammed on the other side of your head, quickly caging you in causing you to yelp.
âCâmon doll are you really sure? I could show you a much better time if you just give me a chance~â
Squeezing your eyes shut you tilted your head away from his own and tried to escape his barricade he created.
âIâm not interested, please let me go!â You shouted angrily as he ignored your uncomfortable cries and advanced.
How point a got to point b you didnât know, but luckily before anything got serious you noticed a large hand grabbing Fumihiroâs collar before it yanked him back away from you causing the boy to stumble.
Your eyes filed with fear slightly softened when you saw Kuroo standing before you, worry written across his face as he quickly draped his red jacket over your shoulders and held you close.
âWow you really canât read a room buddy,â Kuroo spoke cooly, his hazel eyes glaring down to the boy who looked up to him with wide eyes, âNext time you touch my kitten after she tells you to back off, I can promise you wonât be able to show any girl a âgood timeâ ever again.â
The captain simply nodded, but Kuroo didnât give him the time to respond as he led you towards the bus along with his teammates who only sneered at the scene.
âThank you Kuroo.. that guy is so creepy...â You muttered, gripping onto his jersey tightly as he allowed you to step on the bus before he followed suit, the two of you going to your usual seat in the back of the bus.
âWell I canât let the princess I love be harassed by some peasant.â Kuroo spoke smoothly, his classic lazy smirk on his lips as he leaned against the window and motioned for you to sit beside him.
Smiling warmly you leaned against his chest and allowed him to wrap his muscular arms around your chest as you cuddled in his jacket.
How could you of gotten so lucky?

this tired old elegy
Summary:Â CC-5052 and a company of other clones bound for decommissioning are instead auctioned off to slavers on Tatooine. Or they would be, if someone mysterious didn't intervene. The resulting chaos stirs up memories Bly craves; CC-5052 thinks they might be best forgotten. Or: In which Bly is This Close to breaking out of the chip's control by himself and Obi-Wan shows up to give him that extra push. AO3.
Notes:Â A scene that's been kicking around in my head for a while, of two ships passing in the night. Hinted Codywan and Blyla.
Warnings: Mild violence, seizures, slavery, mind control, grief.Â
The clones of Kamino are dying out.
Theyâve known this for a long time now. The Empire used them, wiped out the last of the Old Republic with them, and shunted them off, thrown out with yesterdayâs trash when they werenât useful anymore. CC-5052 has heard the horror stories, the ones the admirals always shut down if they heard them spreading among the ranks. Clones decommissioned before their time. Clones going missing, or going against orders in the field. Clones found with a single blaster shot to the head and no explanation for their deaths given. Clones pushed from active duty, given menial jobs or guard posts. CC-5052 heard CC-2224 has a teaching position now.
Disgrace is a cloneâs lot, and it tastes sour in the mouth.
This though? CC-5052âs stomach turns over when the doors to the spaceport he and three of his brothers three other clones have been held in for days on end finally open. The air that buffets him is arid, dry and hot against his skin. Sand flings itself, clawing, searching, into his eyes, and CC-5052 coughs against the assault. It does little to help. He never thought for a second that heâd come to this end. Itâs poetic in a way his Jedi the Traitor he served under would have found poignant once upon a time. Enslavement is how the clones of Kamino came into this world, so enslavement should be the way they go out, shouldnât it?
Tatooine is a wretched planet, CC-5052 decides as he and his vode his family the rest of his company are led onto the calling block. The Empire has no use for him, and so it sends him to a useless place.
âOne hundred credits,â the auctioneer offers, gesturing at one of the three other clones to CC-5052âs left. A hand raises in the air before them, and the auctioneer dispassionately raises the price by another hundred credits. And so it begins. Is this all there is for him?
Iâm going to die on this dust-ball.
The crowd around them is sparse; the midday suns beat down on them all, slave and free sentient alike, and no one is immune to their rays. Most attendants are covered from head to toe in brown, black or white fabrics, wrapped up like mummified remains. Sunlight reflects off of any and all surfaces. A mother carrying a childâs metal cradle passes by on the edge of the crowded marketplace, and the shine off of the basket pierces directly into CC-5052âs brain. He hisses, air whistling between his teeth, eyes clenching. The pain rockets through his skull--it seems to be doing that a lot lately, random headaches plaguing his sleep. Migraines are not uncommon in the vode the clones, but he doesnât want to examine what they mean. Theyâre far too often accompanied by a wave of grief that threatens to swallow CC-5052 whole.
His attention has wandered too far; the price has gone up five times since he last checked, and the auctioneer is getting excited now. They bounce on their toes, rattling off higher and higher numbers with a growing grin. As if this is just a good day at the market for them. As if it simply does not matter. As if they donât matter.
What he thinks now is treason, of course. They are Empire property, were Republic property before that. If the Emperor saw fit to sell him off, who is CC-5052 to argue?
I hate him.
The thought nearly rattles every bone in CC-5052âs body with its intensity--but there is no time for him to examine its implications, because three things happen in very rapid succession.
First, an explosion goes off somewhere nearby and behind CC-5052; debris and sand sail through the air, pelting down on the crowd before the slave auction. The ground rolls beneath their feet, and CC-5052 has to stumble to keep his balance. The auctioneer does not have his luck, and trips right off of the platform, facedown in the dust. It startles a laugh out of CC-5052--Bly--but then he inhales more ash and coughs instead.
Second, the chains around his wrists loosen unexpectedly before falling away completely. His arms arenât quite as burly as they used to be, from inactivity before the auction and from years of being shoved to the sidelines before that, so Blyâs CC-5052âs wrists slip easily between his manacles. Above the roar of growing fires and screaming citizens, he can just make out three identical thumps as the clones beside him rub raw skin that mirrors his own.
Third, through the confusion and panic setting into the crowd, the fleeing forms and those who have fallen prone and lain still, through the smoke and fire and noise, CC--Bly looks up and sees a hooded person beckoning to him. He canât see their eyes, canât see anything but brown fabric and smoke and a hand lifted in greeting, which turns its palm away after a second and crooks its fingers. Thereâs a tickle at the back of his mind, and, his migraine raging so badly that his vision wavers as he jumps down, Bly follows. His brothers are right behind him.
The stranger ducks and weaves through the enraged crowds, avoiding fire and danger deftly. Thereâs something almost comforting about slipping into their shadow, something familiar and warm that Bly almost doesnât recognize. For a moment, Bly thinks wildly that the stranger probably has blue skin, but the thought evades him when he tries to examine it more closely.
They are outside of the city limits within fifteen minutes. The figure stops and waits for the clones to approach, never turning to look at them. Bly CC-5052 (Bly?) stops a few feet away, outside of armâs reach. Just in case. Their head turns, but the hood obscures anything defining.
âWho are you?â
They shake their head. Fair enough.
Why did you save us?â
His brothers--clones--brothers shift on their feet behind him, anxious for the answer. The figure shakes their head again.
âWill you answer any of my questions?â Their shoulders hitch minutely and he gets the distinct feeling heâs being laughed at. For once, it doesnât seem malicious. Itâs refreshing, even if it does intensify the stinging behind Blyâs eyes. âFine. What do we do now?â
At this, the figure finally reacts. They turn and point into the distance; Bly raises his eyes to the horizon, where a tiny homestead sits beyond the wavy hot air. Then the figure jerks their fingers towards the spaceport that lies in ruin behind them, then points to the sky, and clenches their fist, bringing it to rest in their flat palm. Then they flatten their fist and mime a ship's take-off.
âLay low out in the Wastes and come back to steal a ship later.â Bly translates. The stranger nods.
Good enough for Bly.
~
The stranger lets them into what can be generously described as a hovel. There are four rooms in total, and the larder underground is nearly empty. Itâs completely bare when he and his brothers are finished with it. There are no beds, only a slab of rock in the corner of one room with a threadbare blanket on it. It makes CC-5052âs heart twist in his chest. It makes Blyâs migraine even worse, so bad he has to sit down or trip over his own feet. Grief overwhelms him. He comes to with the strangerâs hand on his shoulder, and a clone--his name was Gardener, he was a Coruscant Guard, he was just a shiny when they blew it all to pieces--counting his breaths for him.
One thing at a time.
âYou got anything to hunt with out here?â Bly asks when his lungs donât feel like theyâre the size of straws. The stranger hands him what amounts to a wooden spear.
~
Killing womprats takes all day and into the evening. Bly and his brothers--Gardener and Ink and Database, he knew them once--prowl back through the early twilight and drop them at the strangerâs doorstep. He tries not to feel like a cat bringing home a trophy.
~
âBody heat would keep you warmer than those rags,â Bly says as they settle in for the night. The stranger, who has not dropped one ounce of cloth from their figure the entire time, shakes their head and turns away. They leave the blanket for Ink to use.
The wind howls around them the entire night.
~
Taking the ship is easy; itâs small, privately owned. The slaver driving it wonât be missed. Bly wonders where the auctioneer got off to and how long it might take to find him.
CC-5052 wonders if he shouldnât report back to the Empire for decommissioning. Bly rejects it. The migraine gets worse, howling in his mind like the wind does out in the Wastes.
The stranger freezes beside him where theyâve been keeping an eye out for any more crew the clones need to take down. A soft palm clasps Blyâs shoulder and the pain recedes.
He tries not to shake them off too harshly, but the last time someone did that, touched him like that--
Sheâs not here anymore.
Bly resolves not to go back. Thereâs nothing left in the Empire for him anyway.
They killed everything I ever loved.
He gets sick from the pain in his head. He wonders how long heâll last on the outside. Something tells him, not long.
~
âWeâre taking off soon.â
The stranger nods. Their shoulders are a stiff, hard line against the backdrop of the Tatooine horizon. Bly finds himself at a loss for words, and filled with a sudden desperation to speak.
He finds his voice, choking, hoarse. As the wind howls across the dunes, he has to raise his volume to be heard. âYou could come with us.â
It has the opposite effect than he wants; they jerk back, settling into a more defensive posture. Bly raises his hands in submission, but canât help taking a step forward. âWeâre not going back to the Empire, if youâre worried. We--things happened to us there. Because of the Empire--weâre not who we used to be. But weâre free now, and we wouldnât hurt--â
Sandstorms and windstorms happen quickly on this planet, and a huge gust nearly takes them both off their feet. Sand flies into his face for the second time in as many days, and, coughing, Bly reaches out and blindly finds his saviorâs hand. He tugs relentlessly, fumbling his way through the sudden gusts and dust to the overhang where theyâve stashed the ship. Heâs thankful his brothers are already on the ship; no one else needs to be caught up in this mess.
âAre you alright?â His gloves are covered in grime and it takes three or four swipes at his eyes before Bly gets his sight clear. He reaches out, catching hold of the stranger's arm as they cough and bend to spit out dirt a few feet away, face hidden by the low light here. Their headscarf has fallen from the wind, their hood flipped down for the first time. His hand brushes their shoulder, fingertips catching against the only exposed skin they have at the base of their throat, and the stranger flinches back instinctively--and then they turn to look at him.
Obi-Wan Kenobi looks older now. His voice is softer. âCommander Bly?â
âJedi.â The death sentence falls from Blyâs lips without his knowledge and his vision wavers again. The next time the black spots clear away, Blyâs hands are wrapped around Kenobiâs throat and squeezing. The Jediâs eyes bulge grotesquely, but then Blyâs hands loosen without his consent, flying down to pin themselves by his sides. He topples over and only Kenobiâs quick reflexes stop him from burning his face against the sun warmed sand beneath their feet. The force holding his hands down relents, as if surprised, and Bly scrambles back, his head pounding. CC-5052, who had been receding for days, weeks, maybe even years, surges against him and Bly retches as he lunges again.
Kenobi was always known for his keen battle sense, though, so Bly is hardly surprised when heâs sidestepped. He throws his weight towards the Traitor (Jedi-General-friend) again only to have his outstretched arm caught and folded around his own back. Kenobi lets CC-5052âs weight fall against his own chest, allowing them both to fold gently to the ground. Another arm wraps firmly across CC-5052âs chest, pinning his other arm to his side. Spittle and froth foam at his lips, choking him, but Kenobi does not let go.
It feels as if a rusted spike has been driven through CC-5052âs skull. Adrenaline is making him shake, as if heâll fall apart.
âNo, my friend,â Kenobi says, almost too quiet over the animal sounds caught in CC-5052âs throat. âYouâre having a seizure. Youâre ill. Whatever has been done to you--itâs breaking down.â
Bly jerks and spits and gasps his way out from under CC-5052âs influence in fits and starts.
âI--I didnât--I didnât mean to attack--â
âI can sense that, Commander.â When Bly fails to strain against his hold any longer, Kenobiâs fingers raise to tentatively touch his temple. âYouâve got pain, here, all the time. It intensified when you attacked, and your presence slipped away. Faded, like a radio signal from far off. Like--like Codyâs did.â
Bly doesnât have to ask what Kenobi means.
âIâm sorry,â he says, and then something snaps and he canât seem to stop. Years of torment, too built up to be pushed back. âIâm--Iâm so sorry. I--I never wanted--we never meant to--Iâm sorry.â
âYou need not apologize, Bly.â Kenobiâs touch is soothing, as much as it prompts his migraine to rekindle. Â âYou need not be sorry. It was not you.â
Her face drifts before his eyes, overlapping Kenobiâs when he meets the manâs eyes. She loved Bly, he knows she did. Bly loved her too. Suddenly, itâs all-important to tell Kenobi of this, for someone to know, for a Jedi to know.
âI loved her.â
âShe knew.â
It feels like absolution.
âWe loved you all.â Bly says, the final, most agonizing confession. âWe loved the Jedi.â
âWe loved the Vode.â Kenobi assures gently. Then his fingers find Blyâs temple again and the world goes a pleasant, fuzzy white. âWe loved you all too.â
It feels like a gift.
~
Bly wakes up with three of his brothers, a stolen ship, and only the memory of a stranger with a fading smile to account for his time on Tatooine.

pretty eyes
warnings: date rape drugs
word count: 2k
âYouâre overreacting!â
âOverreacting? You cheated on me! What part of this is overreacting?â You yelled, throwing your hands in the air. âIâm so sorry Brant, Iâm sorry for being upset that you slept with someone else in our bed! How could something so trivial possibly upset me?â Your voice dripped with sarcasm as you glared at him.
âYou werenât supposed to know-â
âOh, and that makes it better? What is wrong with you? No, you know what, I donât even want to hear it. Iâm leaving. Weâre done.â
âY/N, wait, donât just leave-â
âGoodbye, Brant,â you said, turning to the door. âIâll come by later to get my stuff. I just- I canât be around you right now.â
âWait! Please, I love you!â
âIf you loved me you wouldnât have cheated on me!â You yelled, not turning around as you walked down the sidewalk and away from the man you had wasted a year of your life on.
You got in your car, blowing out a deep breath as you buried your face in your hands.
What am I supposed to do now?
Your best friend was out of town, which was probably a good thing. She wouldnât hesitate to give Brant a piece of her mind, which was something you didnât want to deal with right now. You just needed to get your mind off it.
Maybe you could go to a hotel for the night, just until she got home. Then you could crash with her until you found a new apartment.
But there was somewhere else you needed to go first.
-----
âWhatâll it be?â The bartender asked.
âTequila.â
âRight for the hard stuff, huh? Bad day?â He asked, chuckling as he poured the liquor.
âMy boyfriend- ex boyfriend, I guess- cheated on me. In our bed.â
âYikes,â he said, sliding the glass to you. âThis oneâs on me.â
âThank you,â you said, wincing a bit as you threw the shot back. It was disgusting, as always, but hopefully it would help you forget a little faster.
Forget stupid Brant and his stupid house you used to live in and the stupid girl he slept with- wait, no, she might not have known he had a girlfriend. She might not be stupid. Stupid Brant. Stupid men, honestly.
-----
You groaned, pressing your hand over your eyes when the light hit them. You had literally never felt this awful.
How much tequila did I actually drink?
You shifted slightly, trying to find a new position to lay in so the sun wouldnât attack you anymore. This movement alerted you that something was off. You looked down, freezing when you saw the blankets. The white blankets. The blankets that were definitely not yours.
You looked up quickly, eyes going wide when you realized you had no idea where you were. You looked around frantically, searching for any clues of what happened last night. You stopped when you saw your sweater and jeans on the floor. Looking down again, your face twisted in confusion when you saw the shirt you were wearing. It was old and faded and several sizes too big.
Odd, because I donât own any Fleetwood Mac merchandise.
You looked down into the shirt, sighing in relief when you saw you were still wearing your bra. Then you were confused again, because you were also wearing... sweatpants?
You lifted the blankets away from your legs, inspecting the clothing you had never seen before.
Alright, I really need to know what happened, because Iâm starting to freak out here.
Just then, the bedroom door opened. You couldnât hold back your surprised shriek when you saw him. He looked just as surprised as you, but probably a lot more put together than you did. Â He was carrying a glass of water and a bottle of ibuprofen.
âSorry, I didnât mean to scare you,â he said, smiling softly. âI didnât think you were awake.â He didnât step any closer, just paused in the doorway.
âUm- where am I?â You asked, your heart pounding.
âI know this looks really bad,â he said, looking between your face and the clothes you were wearing. âI promise, absolutely nothing happened. You were- uh, really out of it.â
âWhy am I not wearing my clothes? Why am I in your bed? Who are you?â You asked, starting to feel frantic. He was right, this did look really bad.
âWait, donât freak out, just let me explain. But you should take this first, you probably donât feel great,â he said, holding out the pills.
You nodded, pressing your lips into a line. At your confirmation, he stepped into the room and handed you the glass and the medicine. You swallowed two pills, watching him as he sat on the edge of the bed.
âOk,â you set the items on the bedside table. âYou better start explaining.â
-----
âThis seat taken?â He asked, smiling at the girl.
âNo, go ahead,â she said, gesturing lazily toward the stool next to her. âAnother margarita, please,â she looked at the bartender, nodding her head at the empty glasses in front of her.
âYou can put that on my tab,â Harry said, resting his elbows on the bar. âAnd one for myself, too.â
âOh, you- you donât have to do that,â she said, blushing a bit.
âNot a problem, love. You look like youâve had a rough time of it.â
âYeah, my stupid ex, he cheated on me. In our own bed,â she said, slurring her words a bit as she sighed. She was already pretty out of it, and Harry didnât like the looks she was getting from a few men across the room. Their staring made him uneasy.
âWhat a prick,â he said, smiling gratefully at the bartender when he handed him the glass.
âYeah, he was,â she said, taking a sip of her drink. âBut he was really pretty, and I really liked him.â
âIâm sorry. He shouldnât have done that. Iâm Harry, by the way.â
âY/N,â she answered with a small smile.
They talked for a while longer, her speech getting more disoriented as the time went on. Harry was starting to get concerned. He didnât think sheâd had that much to drink, but she was clearly very intoxicated.
âYouâll have to excuse me, so I can use the ladies room,â she said, nearly tipping over when she stood up. Harryâs arm instinctively shot out to grab her shoulder, steadying her.
âSorry,â she blushed, blinking quickly like she was trying to focus her eyes. âIâm fine.â
Harry watched her head disappear through the crowd, flicking his eyes between her and the group from earlier. He narrowed his eyes when he saw one of them gesturing at her, looking triumphant at how difficult it was for her to stay upright.
Oh, fuck no.
Harry stood up, making his way over to the men.
âWhy are you looking at her like that?â He demanded, getting straight to the point.
âWhat are you talking about?â One of them responded, acting totally oblivious.
âDonât play with me. Iâve seen you watching her all night.â
âI donât know what youâre getting at, man. Sheâs pretty, but sheâs not that hot,â he said, the whole group laughing.
âDonât speak about her like that. Come on, whatâd you do? Drug her? What, canât get a woman unless sheâs completely off her face? Not surprising, looking like that,â Harry said, looking down at his outfit distastefully. âIâm not kidding, what did you give her?â
âNo idea what youâre talking about,â he said again, smirking. âBut fine, you can have her. Thereâs plenty of other ladies here for me to buy drinks for,â he said, nudging his friend with his elbow.
âYou little-â he was cut off when he felt a gentle tug on the back of his shirt. He turned quickly, looking down at Y/N who seemed more dazed than before.
âI donât- I think somethingâs wrong,â she said, looking at him with scared eyes.
âDonât worry, youâre just fine,â he put his arm around her shoulder, guiding her back to their seats.
âHave fun!â The man yelled, making the rest of his little gang laugh nastily.
Harry clenched his jaw, not willing to give them what they wanted and react, even though all he wanted to do was knock the smirks off their faces.
âCan I get a water, please?â He asked, helping Y/N into her seat. It wasnât an easy task, she could barely sit up. âDrink this, youâll feel better.â
-----
âSo, yeah, I donât know exactly what that guy put in your drink, but you were pretty much completely out of it,â Harry said, wrapping up his story.
âIâm sorry,â you groaned, covering your face with your hands.
âWhat are you sorry about?â
âWell, you went out for a drink and ended up taking care of some random girl who got roofied. Iâm so stupid, how did I not notice someone slipping me something?â
âYouâre not stupid,â he said, looking up at you. âPeople like that, who do things like that, theyâre very good at it. Itâs disgusting, I know.â
âThank you, for keeping me safe. That- my night could have gone very differently, so thank you for not letting anything happen to me.â
âOf course,â he said, his eyes softening. âOh- I almost forgot. When we got here you started taking your shirt off, said it wasnât comfortable enough to sleep in,â he smiled. âI gave you that one, which was apparently good enough. Same thing with the jeans.â
âSorry about that,â you said, your face heating up. âAlso, why am I here?â
âOh, right, I found your drivers license in your purse, tried to bring you to that address, but you were going on and on about how you couldnât be there. Something about how it wasnât your home anymore, so I didnât really know what else to do.â
âYeah, thatâs where I lived with my boyfriend. Ex boyfriend,â you corrected.
âOh, that makes sense then,â he said. âWhere were you planning to go? Do you have family, or friends around here?â
âYeah, my best friend lives here. Sheâs out of town right now, so Iâm going to stay at a hotel until she gets back.â
âSounds good,â he said, looking shy all of the sudden. âI was wondering if- if youâre up to it, we could go for brunch?â
âYou saw me when I was- to put it nicely- piss drunk, and you want to go for brunch?â You asked, smiling.
âYeah, for sure,â he grinned. âIt was kind of endearing, youâre a very sweet drunk. You made sure IÂ knew how pretty my eyes were, multiple times actually.â
âOf course I did,â you said, blushing all over again. âYeah, brunch sounds good.â
âPerfect,â he beamed. âThereâs this really nice cafe not too far away, we can go there. Oh- but you might want to...â he gestured at your eyes.
You looked at him in confusion, grabbing your phone from the table beside you. You opened your front camera, your eyes going wide when you saw the black smudges under them.
âWow, thatâs- thatâs really cute,â you laughed. âCome on, you couldnât have taken this off?â
âI tried! I didnât have any makeup wipes or anything fancy, but I used a washcloth and did what I could. That stuff is stubborn.â
âYeah, it can be,â you smiled again, standing up to collect your clothes.
âThe bathroomâs right down the hall so you can change,â he said, pointing you in the right direction.
âThanks. Oh, and one more thing,â you turned around, pausing in the doorway. âDrunk me wasnât lying. You do have really pretty eyes.â

"Here, this is my number." Chuhan said while writing on a napkin. The summer heat was beating down on our heads and our drinks had condensation running down the glass. We both had our phones, yes, but in the moment we ignored the fact for the simple gesture of handing his number to me before he left with Minseok and Myungho. "I'm going to be busy for the next few months so I don't know if I'll be able to get over here much."
I smile and remember the first few times I saw him.
It was a few months ago. I had been frequenting a nice courtyard near a musical theatre that had a coffee cart and tables to seat at and spend sometime in the sun, doodling, journaling, or doing whatever I desired that day. I was doodling the theatre building because it was a cool looking building and I wanted to try my hand at drawing prospectives (it wasn't good, but it was worth the practice). A random guy sitting at the same long table with some of his friends had leaned over and started up a conversation with me. The random guys ended up being Minseok, Chuhan, and Myungho. We started chatting and then the next time I went, they showed up too. And the next time. And the next time. It kind of became a thing that we did. Sometimes Minseok and/or Myungho didn't show up. But Chuhan always did. It never really occurred to us to exchange phone numbers until today.
A pout forms on my lips as I begin to worry about Chuhan and his friends/coworkers.
"I hope they're not too busy." I murmur to myself adjusting my mask as we still all have to wear them. As I do this, it kind of occurs to me that I've never seen Minseok, Chuhan, or Myungho's faces without masks on.
I shrug off the thought and refocus on the small back alley I'm walking through. It's barely big enough for a car to fit down yet somehow the drivers here manage to squeeze through like it's no big deal.
Bobbing my head along to the music playing through my earphones, I don't hear the biker coming up behind me on the narrow road. Before I can register what's happening, the biker speeds up next to me, kicks out a leg and knocks me over, and then is speeding away as my forearm stings against the prickly ground.
"Hey!" A male voice shouts at the biker (who's too far away to care) from behind me as my knee echos the sting of my forearm.
I sit back on my butt and rip out my earbuds before gingerly looking at my injuries. My purse flew off my shoulder and landed a good foot away. My knee is a bit scratched up and my forearm is as well, though small blood droplets are starting to appear.
"Are you okay?" A male with blonde hair and soft asks, kneeling down next to me, and another appears standing on my other side. "Oh, you're bleeding."
"I'm okay, yeah." I say in a shaky voice, the shock of it all throwing me off guard. "I live just down the street, I'm okay."
"You should clean that off right away." The male standing says with concern, "Our company is literally right here, at least come and wash it off so it doesn't get infected."
Against my better judgement- the one that says going anywhere with strange males is bad- I nod. It's just something about their eyes and their posture. Plus, the one who screamed angrily at the biker is still staring in anger at the path the biker disappeared down minutes ago.
"Here, let me help you." The once kneeling male offers me a hand, "My name's Jisoo."
"(y/n)." I tell him and take his offered hand. I try to put pressure on my scraped knee but the sting intensifies and I stumble to regain balance on the uninjured leg.
"Careful." Jisoo warns, gripping my arm tighter.
"Just back here." The other male points to my left. Standing around us and the entrance of a building are 11 other males, all masked, of course.
"Someone come and grab her stuff." Jisoo calls out to the group who is looking at me with concern.
The other guys start to shuffle around, one even holds the door open a few steps before Jisoo and I reach the door. I notice, though, that three guys stand a little ways away, all staring at me dumbfounded, and very quiet. I take a couple seconds to look them over and they're wearing outfits EXTREMELY similar to what Minseok, Myungho, and Chuhan were wearing.
"Watch your step." The one holding the door open says as a warning and I have to revert my attention to where I'm placing my feet.
Jisoo turns his head and says something to someone behind me while I tune him out and take in the interior of the building. The white walls reflect the fluorescent lights and brighten the room. Turns this way and that and up a small flight of stairs and Jisoo leads me into a large open conference room, which looks oddly familiar.
"Sit here." Jisoo instructs me and pulls out a chair. He then pulls out a chair for himself.
I lower myself into the chair and try to bend my knee. Bad idea. The sting makes me suck in a breath and squeeze my eyes shut. It's the kind of sting that's sharp and sometimes causes shivers to run down my spine. The worst kind of sting, in my opinion.
"Here's the stuff, hyung." Another guy comes trotting into the room with a red cross labeled white box. Another brings a bowl of water and a couple of hand towels. The others gather in the room with mumbled conversations.
I pull the mask off my face and lay it down on the table as someone else sets my phone and purse next to my mask.
"Thanks." I smile at him and he nods back.
After taking his mask off, Jisoo wordlessly dampens one of the towels then pats the space between his legs.
"You don't have -." I try to refute his offer but his face silences my voice. For a second I forget how to breathe but my scrapes quickly remind me that I need to otherwise they're going to rain hellfire on my nerves. "You're not just a random Jisoo." I exhale in shock.
Joshua leans back, slightly afraid that I'll start screaming. I look around at the others and slowly piece together the number: 13, and the room we're in: it's the same as where Seventeen filmed their fifth year anniversary idea session. I'm just looking at it from a VERY different angle.
Everyone in the room seems to be holding their breath, uncertain about how I'm going to react. I think I surprised them because I definitely know I surprised myself with my response.
"Okay." I say surprisingly calmly in response to Joshua's instruction for me to put my leg up. "But only cause I have one arm out of commission."
And like someone took the kettle off of the heat, the members all exhale.
"You sure you're okay?" Seungcheol asks, taking his mask off and the others follow.
I nod, my nervousness being replaced with confidence the longer I'm under the realization that I am being helped by the Seventeen.
I nod but the action is cut short as Joshua cleans off my scraped knee causing me to inhale quickly and scrunch my face in pain.
"Sorry." Joshua mutters but continues to wipe away the dirt from my skin.
"It's fine." I squeeze out through clenched teeth. "Almost done." Joshua tells him and continues to clean the scrape.
"So, where were you coming from?" Seungkwan wonders with curious eyes in attempt to provide some distraction from the pain.
"Uhm, I was just hanging out with some friends." I answer him, forcing myself to look way from my knee.
"Was it far from here?" Hoshi followed up.
I shake my head, "It was just in the courtyard by the theatre that's like 6 blocks away or something."
"Hey, isn't that where you guys said you were going?" Dino points a finger towards Vernon, DK, and The8.
I glance at the three and they're the ones dressed the same as Minseok, Chuhan, and Myungho. The room is silent as the three share a nervous look. Then Joshua breaks the silence by ripping open a bandaid.
"We did..." DK trails off, staring directly at Vernon and Myungho. I feel Joshua stick the bandaid over my knee before patting my foot, silently saying that I can lower my leg.
"Maybe you guys saw each other!" Jun comments happily.
"I... I think I did..." I stare at the three avoiding any eye contact with me. The pieces slowly starting to fit together. Joshua reaches out for my arm which I easily volunteer over. "Oh, I definitely di- oh, mother-!" I yelp mid-sentence as Joshua wipes away the dirt and blood.
"Sorry, sorry." Joshua mumbles apologetically.
"It's fine." I breathe out and redirect back to the three who's familiar eyes aren't just from the computer screen. "Chuhan, Minseok, and Myungho?" I question them on the names they used with me.
DK and Vernon just smile while The8 adds a tiny and shy wave.
"And you were going to be too busy to come meet with me because of the comeback..." I continue to guess.
They nod and some members stare at the three in awe while the others snicker under their breath. Joshua just continues to wipe away at my arm which is still stinging.
"And you made up names because....?" I lean forward, trailing off to wait for an answer.
"We didn't know how you'd react to us?" Vernon offers but states it more as a question.
"This is going to sting." Joshua informs me just mere milliseconds before spraying something that most definitely stings.
"Ugh." I groan, "I'm never walking down tiny roads again."
"You're going to have to if you're going to come visit us." Seungkwan pouts.
"Who said I was visiting?" I question, realizing a couple seconds later how that actually sounds coming out of my mouth.
"No one but I know Vernon gave you his number so I was kind of guessing." Seungkwan replies as Joshua rips open a few bandaids to cover up my injured arm.
"You mean Chuhan." I correct him with a smirk.
"CHUHAN?" Hoshi repeats the name, "You told her your name was CHUHAN?" He throws his head back and laughs out loud. Dino, Jun, Jeonghan, and Seungcheol join him while others just smile in amusement.
"Okay but like did (y/n) never question how ridiculous the name was?" Mingyu interrogates me, amused at my naiveness.
I shrug, pulling my arm closer after Joshua lets it go. "I know people sometimes have crazy names and I've heard weirder names so it seemed like a plausible name."
"Okay but did it never hit you because DK hyung used his name backwards and The8 hyung used his korean name!" Vernon wonders with a tiny ounce of whine laced in.
"I couldn't see your face. And the masks obscure a lot of people's visuals." I explain and wave my hand in front of my face to emphasis. "Including celebrities. Isn't that the reason celebs constantly wore them before we were all required to?"
"She has a point." The8 points at me in agreement.
"So were you boys ever going to spill your secret?" I ask, leaning my cheek against my fist.
They all stutter with a loss of words.
"We're taking that as a no." Hoshi crosses his arms and moves to stand behind me.
"Yes we are." Seungkwan agrees and joins Hoshi.
I start to panic slightly at the thought that I might have started a rift between the members but Vernon's laugh breaks that tension.
"No, it's not like that." He explains, "We were going to tell her just like not for a little while."
"It was nice to talk with someone who didn't know who we were." Dokyeom continues while I just look at them in amusement.
"I just tagged along cause it got me out of the dorm." The8 gives his very simple reason. Jun chuckles and gives him a high-five.
"So, you knew I was a fan from the multitude of times we discussed music and yet you still didn't bother to let me know?" I question.
"Yeah... kind of." Vernon confirms, smiling sheepishly.
"Fair." I nod and lean back in my chair.
"So you're not upset?" DK asks, curious at my response.
I shake my head, "Why would I be? You were trying to protect yourselves cause I could've been a crazed fan. Makes sense. I probably would've done the same thing."
Before they can reply, my phone starts to buzz with a call. I smile apologetically to the members before answer the call.
"Where are you?" My friend asks over the phone, "You were supposed to be here like 25 minutes ago."
"Shit." I guess being knocked over completely made me forget my plans. "I'll be right there."
"I forgot I was supposed to meet my friend." I tell them apologetically.
"Yeah, yeah. Go ahead." Seungcheol nods, "Next time, let us buy you a meal." "You don't have to." I shake my head quickly.
Seungcheol holds up a hand, "No, no, I want to. This all happened in front of our building so I feel bad."
"It wasn't your fault though..." I try to reason with him.
"It was that stupid biker." Vernon mumbles angrily.
"Still, you'll let us know if you have free time?" Joshua presses.
I nod in defeat. "I will." I say and stand up then stand slightly awkwardly as no one moves.
"Why don't you walk her out, Vernon?" Wonwoo suggests and I nearly forgot he was there as he was so quiet standing in the back with Woozi.
"Yeah, walk her out." Hoshi agrees and nudges me towards the door while The8 does the same to Vernon.
Vernon holds the door open for me and I walk out holding my bandaged arm close to my chest.
"Sorry for lying." Vernon apologies once we're down the stairs.
"You don't need to apologize." I say, "It makes a lot of sense why you didn't tell me so don't feel bad. Again, I would've done the same thing."
Vernon smiles softly, "Nice to know it wasn't a completely crazy idea."
"You were the one to suggest it?" I question in amusement.
"No, The8 hyung did." He explains, "I just agreed to it before DK hyung could suggest a crazier idea."
"Good thinking." I compliment his train of thought.
"You sure you're going to be okay?" He asks, voice full of concern.
I nod with certainty, "Yeah, I'll be fine. It'll be an annoyance for like two days and then it'll start to heal and I'll forget about it."
"Good, good." Vernon inhales then exhales, "I can't believe a person can be that rude. Especially in broad daylight." He releases his bottled up annoyance.
"Yeah, but without them, you would still be Chuhan to me." I reason with him, seeing the bright side of the situation.
"True, but still." Vernon scrunches up his nose. "You still have my number right?" He asks as we reach the front door.
I search my purse for the napkin, "Yeah, it's right here." I pull out the scrunched up napkin.
Vernon nods in satisfaction, "Text or call me sometime. I'm sure we could hang out more privately before Coups hyung forces you to him buy you a meal."
I smile and let out an airy laugh, "I'd like that."
"I'll be waiting for your message then." Vernon says happily.
"Thanks for helping me out." I say and step outside.
"Not a problem." He replies and both of us hesitate to end the encounter.
"I, uh, I should probably get going. Don't want to keep my friend waiting." I smile lightly, deciding to break the barrier first.
"Yeah, yeah. Get there safely." Vernon reminds me as I step away and he waves back as I wave at him.
I turn around to face the direction I'm walking and quickly pull out my phone.
"Bruh, you will NOT believe what just happened!" I text friend.
"WHAT?" She replies in one second flat.
I giggle with giddiness and my fingers type as fast as they can, unable to contain my excitement. "So I was knocked over by a rude biker..."
