Core Gems

So when a ghost becomes injured, they have a last ditch defense where they retreat into their core. And I mean, injured badly where their body is rip apart to the point they can’t hold a solid form anymore. And they basically go into a hibernation state until they are strong enough to form again.

Ellie, Danny, and Dan are all injured in a final battle against the GIW. The organization was destroyed and the ghosts were safe but the halfas ended up being so injured that they reverted to core form and then went to sleep for a bit. When they woke up, they were still weak but at least recovered enough to gain consciousness. And realize…they are in some kind of auction…in the middle of a heist. It appeared that two furries (one in a bat costume and one in a cat costume) were ducking it out. And they…they were a necklace. All three of them had been turned into a necklace with their cores as gems accompanied by sapphires, pearls, and opals. And frankly gorgeous craftsmanship as the metal was crafted around their cores as if to cradle them and the other gems.

Unfortunately, they were too weak to take a form properly, they could still feel the strain on their bodies. But at least they could still communicate through their auras. Then the cat lady punched a hole in the glass container surrounding them and grabbed their necklace.

However, the bat grabbed the other end and it resulted in a sort of tug-a-war. Meanwhile, Danny, Ellie, and Dan were having a back and form commentary on the situation and what they should do. Completely unheard by the other party.

In the corner of their eye, the three halfas finally noticed a third contender. Some kind of clown who was…hold on…holding a gun?! And it was pointed straight at the two fighting furies who had yet to notice him. The ghosts’ protective instincts went into overdrive and they frantically tried to shout, yell, move. Just do something to warn the two but their cries fell on deaf ears. All they succeeded in doing was faintly glow which immediatly caught the attention of the fighting duo. The two turned to look at the strange necklace but right at that moment, the clown fired and a gunshot rang throughout the auction room. Having no other options, Danny and the others poured every ounce of ectoplasm they had to try and phaseshift, making the two furries intangible as the bullets passed right through them, but in their shock, the two jumped away in opposite directions and accidentally ripped the necklace apart. Gems and pearls went flying and the three cores bounced along the ground.

Luckily, the two finally noticed the clown and went to deal with him and his minions who had appeared. Seemingly putting their fight on hold and forming a temporary truce. The three halfas could only watch as the battle finally wound down, ending with the cops barging into the place and arresting the clown and his grunts, the cat managing to escape with half the scattered gems and pearls from the broken necklace along with a few other jewelry pieces (none of their cores though) and the bat leaving through a skylight.

The auction continued and in the end, despite being broken, their necklace seemed to have caught someone’s interest. A man named Bruce Wayne bought up every piece of the shattered jewelry wear. The auctioneers appeared relived that the item managed to sell in the end and gratefully gave it to him.

Bruce had no idea what happened at the auction, but he could have sworn that some of the gems faintly glowed right before he and Selina were shot. If the necklace was some sort of magical item, then he needed to understand exactly what has been brought to Gotham. It was unfortunate that Selena had taken some parts of the necklace but he utilized his vast wealth to make sure all the other parts ended in his possession. Now he would take them back to the mansion for examination.

Again, no muzzle... I lose too much of the expression with it. This troll man has had it rough, and I loved even minutes of chapter 100. May make secondary images with it on.

But his line still haunts me as I'm sure it still haunts JD . ^_^ enjoy

I started this last year so I'm really happy its finally finished ( T꒳T) 💕

This was originally supposed to have an accompanying Branch piece, but too much time passed between working on the two, and I ended up finishing Poppy first. To make their styles cohesive, I’d have to redo both but since this is already Poppy’s third version... you’re getting just Poppy.

I’ll probably create another piece featuring a pouncing Poppy, since I still love the startled Branch pose it was originally meant to pair with. Here are the sketches of it:

Have clocked every one of Daniela’s petty passive aggressive backhanded moves aimed against Misha and JenMish. She didn’t dare actually mess with the jenmish panel too directly. But I have taken note every way she tried to minimize Misha and JenMish.

We got a very enjoyable JenMish panel in the end, JenMish wins, Daniela gets 0.

I’m tired of her, after all her behavior, but JenMish fans enjoying the heck out of the JenMish panel is a great way to push back.

Speakeasy dress-up! I loooove how all her fits came out, especially her formalwear omg. Her alt outfit is what she dresses like in the future, after she embraces both her hard rock roots in addition to her jazz identity!

is it possible that grimAuxiliatrix lives in whats meant to be the derse sculpture for the red frog ruins?

so looking at the different frog temples again, I don't think this is literally true, but I WISH it was true because I think this would be so cool

here's the three frog temples next to each other shortly before the sessions begin. grimAuxiliatrix's and Jade's actually have more in common - both of them have what looks like the top of a volcano positioned behind them, although GA's is mostly buried in sand while GA's is mostly surrounded by water, and both have the Prospit/Derse shaped hive to the left of that on top of a smaller plateau, with GA's again covered in sand. uncertain if there's more of GA's hive below the sand level or if she had to build on top of it.

most of the planets around Jade's frog temple are broken, which is a seriously bad omen for the kids' session. The Derse temple is positioned a ways in front of her house though, and in AA's frog temple (left) it's much closer to the ruins than GA's hive is to hers. Blue frog doesn't appear to have a hive or volcano near it, though they could be intentionally hidden by the purple stalactites.

but I LOVE the idea of GA living in the Derse sculpture because of the contrast that would set up between the trolls' and kids' sessions. The kids are balanced in theory, with two players on Prospit and two on Derse, but it's a Prospit player (Jade) who first learns about the game and convinces her friends to play it, and a Prospit player (John) who's first to enter the Medium. So the kids' session feels like it's led by Prospit, as though it's the planet that charges ahead while Derse cautiously stays behind. Which is in direct contrast to how the planets act in their war on Skaia - the White King and Queen are cautious and always playing defense, while the Black King and Queen are supposed to be the ones to win and implement the Reckoning, and Jack especially is ready to take action and plow down anything in his way.

so if the kids' session is Prospit led, I think the trolls' being Derse led would be interesting. and there's different ways that could manifest. apocalypseArisen being a Derse player and being the one to learn about the game and share it with the trolls is one way, only eleven of the trolls getting into the session (six waking on Derse and five on Prospit) could be another, and GA literally living in the Derse sculpture attached to her frog temple could be another still. to be honest it actually IS possible that she used the orbs that were once part of the Derse sculpture to build her hive, especially if orbs aren't typically used for building on Alternia and she had to source them from somewhere.

and if Prospit and Derse societies kind of do the opposite of what the players do, it would make sense that a Derse led game has a better chance of success. because they'll have a Prospit that immediately forges ahead in response to the players' heavy Derse presence, and a Derse that has to play defense in response, or one that maybe gets a little too confident because they feel they have the advantage based on their players. which could tie into Karkat and co being able to successfully exile the Black Queen earlier in their game, as she possibly thought that 'conceding ground can supply the only remaining advantage' the same way the White Queen did in the kids' session (p.1618).

so a Derse-led session leads to a Prospit advantage on the battlefield and therefore an easier chance of the players defeating the Black King in time to avert the Reckoning, as the trolls apparently did. that, plus the fact that their society literally prepares them for Sburb since infancy, means the trolls' session was set up for the absolute highest chances of success. and yet, they still failed. no wonder they're mad.

Oh really? Oh man, that does sound a little worrying Winnie D: !! The outfits are SUUUPER pretty though! Hopefully all is well. I guess I could understand Minkuu's concern, especially if it's from some anonymous sender. Hope all keeps well though!! :]
