30+ Names That Mean Eclipse: Unique and Beautiful Options for Your Baby – Impeccable Nest
Hindu Mythology - The most prominent and well-known name associated with eclipses in Hinduism is Rahu. In Hindu scriptures, Rahu is described as a powerful demon who is often depicted with a human body and the head of a serpent. He is believed to reside in the sky, constantly seeking revenge against the sun and moon for exposing his true identity during the Samudra Manthan or the churning of the ocean by the gods and demons. According to Hindu belief, Rahu is responsible for causing both solar and lunar eclipses. During these celestial events, it is believed that Rahu swallows the sun or moon, causing temporary darkness on earth. This event is seen as a battle between good and evil, with the gods fighting against Rahu to save the sun and moon from being devoured. *Pradosh Vrat - Kalyansundara Murti* Today, 2nd February 2019 is stated as auspicious for the observance of Pradosh Vrat or Shani Pradosh Vrat to propitiate Lord Shiva. Kalyana in Sanskrit means wedding and Sundara means beautiful. In this form, Lord Shiva is depicted as a young person adorned with four arms and lined by Goddess Parvati, with two hands, in her wedding attire. The couple is depicted amidst all the deities, including Lord Vishnu and his consorts Goddess Lakshmi and Bhudevi. Lord Brahma is the priest performing the Hindu marriage rituals called Panigrahana, where Pani means the hand and Grahana means taking or accepting. This is the ceremony where the groom accepts the hand of the bride and also willingly accepts their union. Lord Shiva in the form of Kalyanasundara is generally not worshipped. This murti is all the more a sign of celebration and is present at the times of wedding. It is believed that unmarried girls pray to this form of Shiva in order to get married soon. ☺#MIC✔ツ (at Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtX4dTWFjF4NcZgCkpaM2R540wVAq6lx0pu_A40/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=15hqke4a2y1vr

Maharishi Parashara admits to have acquired the knowledge from these Rishi. Modestly he states to his disciple, Rishi Maitreya, that whatever he could retain out of the wisdom showered upon him, the same knowledge, now, he imparts to the capable disciple in the very form.” Maharishi Parashara taught Astrology to his disciple Maitreya Rishi in the form of Question & Answer. A little detail is given about both the Personalities.
