How does Deadeye feel about the bandit Yasuo? :3c
Deadeye doesn’t think much of Yasuo outside threads with @disxwned.
Largely, the sheriff has been relegated to the town he’s been protecting. Outside the aforementioned timeline, it’s reasonable to say Deadeye has never actually came into contact with Yasuo (he has yet to meet HN!Yas, though he has met HN!Twisted Fate) And even if he has, he likely looked over it without a thought as he had (in his mind) bigger issues to worry about.
In all honesty, if he did end up finding Yasuo (again, exception: the timeline with disxwned) he’d see them as either a nuisance or an enemy (tldr; sherifs and bandits don’t mix well together in most cases).
In the timeline with disxwned, however…
Deadeye is trash for the tiny bandit. Loves them to death and back and will legitimately do anything for them. He finds them charming, pleasant to talk to, generally well-behaved with the exception of those few.. hundred… times….
I mean, Yasuo gave him a box of puppers. How could you not love someone who gave you a box of little puff-ball puppers?
Though, he tries his best to keep Yasuo at an arms length, despite the other’s advances, since he’s afraid to loose them (to either their drinking or something else : ^) ). He’s gone through it once, so he’s terrified of going through that whole mess again.

February 21 Meeting Minutes
Hello Downtown and Wooster Square Community,
Thanks to everyone who was able to join our February meeting. Below is an update on what was discussed. We look forward to seeing folks at our next meeting on Tuesday, March 21, at 6:00 pm in Meeting Room 2 at City Hall.
February meeting update:
NHPD:
LCI:
New Haven Free Public Library:
Alders:
DWSCMT Bike Month:
NPIP Funds Plan for Olive Street:
Aldermanic proposal to reduce speed to 20 MPH in certain neighborhoods
April 23 Cherry Blossom Festival in Wooster Square:
April 30 block party on Temple Street between Grove and Wall to celebrate improved crosswalk:
Election moderator training recruitment:
WS Block Watch Captain:
CMT Executive Board election process:
Zoning amendments: Anstress reported that a group is working with the City Plan Department on possible zoning amendments. Stay tuned for news of a meeting in March or April if you are interested in getting involved.
Car break-ins were down this month
There were more than 300 motor vehicle stops in district since last month
Open windows on homes have given burglars easy targets - please keep windows closed
DWS receives 10% of the entire City's call volume. Sgt. Maher is adding four more walking beats as of April 2 to address this large volume; the calls mostly revolve around quality of life issues
Community member praised the police for professionalism handling recent protests
Sgt. Maher is ensuring Project Green Thumb remains active - this program provides for Community Service as an alternative to a fine for quality of life violations
Ed Anderson asked about the recent pedestrian death on York St., where a car drove onto the sidewalk and killed a pedestrian. The investigation is ongoing and the police told us these investigations can be slow, but we hope to hear the outcome in a few months.
A concern was raised about the police spending time / resources on enforcing bikes on sidewalks / pedestrians texting while walking rather than on vehicular traffic enforcement. Sgt. Maher said they can adjust their allocation of resources, based on what the community prioritizes. Recognizing this is a complex issue, we are going to have a special meeting to discuss the issue, and will likely include some "field observation" of traffic on our streets as part of that meeting. We will send out details about the meeting via mail chimp in early March, so that anyone interested can join.
The City will remove the graffiti (with the tag "old") when the weather warms up a bit.
Carmen Mendez, our terrific LCI Neighborhood Specialist, reminded everyone of the requirement to shovel their sidewalk within 24 hoursof a snow storm. The path must be 4 ft wide. There is free sand by NH Public Schools that folks are welcome to take. LCI does not have enforcement power when someone does not shovel - perhaps a future topic for the CMT to investigate. Another suggestion was to publicly site businesses that do not shovel snow / remove leaves - hoping public pressure will lead to change.
Russo Park: The Parks Department painted the benches and got a big belly trash can. Carmen would like to get nice black trash receptacles to replace the blue barrels. The city is trying to find some to give us - we could consider this for a future NPIP funding option. Anstress pointed out that there are longer term discussions for altering Russo Park, as part of the Wooster Square Planning Process - which would better connect it with Wooster Square Park. There are some bollards in Russo Park needing painting - perhaps volunteers or a youth group could get involved to help.
Many of the Downtown merchants are meeting on Thursday, March 2 at 6 pm at 200 Orange St. to discuss retail social media marketing. Anyone interested is welcome to join.
Someone reported that the sidewalk by Firestone is dirty - Carmen will follow up with them.
The Library's big annual fundraiser is on Tuesday, March 28, from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the Ives Branch. The event will spotlight the Stetson Library Branch, which is beginning a capital campaign for a new building. For tickets, go to: nhfpl.org/events.
The library representative also reminded people of the dates for public hearings on the city budget. The first hearing is Monday, March 13 at 6 pm in the Alder Chambers at City Hall. This is an opportunity for members of the public to voice their support for the Library or other city entities they believe should be priorities for the city - or to express other concerns with the budget. The second hearing is March 30 at 6 pm at Career High School. The third hearing is May 8 at 6 pm at City Hall.
Ward 8 Alder Aaron Greenberg reminded everyone to vote for movies in the park by the March 2 deadline: This article contains a link to vote: http://www.nhregister.com/general-news/20170207/new-haven-residents-asked-to-vote-for-favorite-films-for-friday-night-flicks.
Ward 7 Alder Alberta Witherspoon told people the deadline had passed to appeal property assessments
There are plans for a bike event on Saturday, May 13 Downtown which would include group loops around the area, bike repair clinics, and lots of other fun events. If you are interested in volunteering for the event or getting involved in other ways, check out New Haven Bike Month on their Facebook page!
The Development Committee of the CMT held a meeting earlier in the month and discussed how best to use our remaining $5000 to improve the safety on Olive Street. It was decided to spend the money on an electronic speed sign (which is moveable) (@$3000) and more in-street pedestrian signs for along Olive Street, plus a planter or bike rack at Wooster Street that would have a traffic calming effect. If you would like to join the Development Committee, please contact Aaron Goode ([email protected])
Ward 27 Alder Richard Furlow reported on his proposal to enable the city to reduce the speed limit in residential neighborhoods from 25 mph to 20 mph, since speed plays such a critical factor in what happens when someone is hit by a vehicle. There is also legislation to this effect pending in Hartford. Alder Furlow wants to pair the speed proposal with more education about traffic safety and more enforcement. He said it would be great to get public support at a March hearing on the issue - date TBD. We'll keep you posted!
The festival is from noon to 4:30 pm and there is a great line up of events / booths. Including . . . a DWSCMT table. We'll be registering folks to vote and trying to engage more people with the CMT. Next month we'll solicit volunteers, although Carmen already has signed up for a shift!
There will be a ribbon cutting for the infrastructure improvements (bump-outs, flashing beacons), and fun events from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. All are welcome to celebrate these improvements which resulted from a Complete Streets application.
Election moderators serve an important role and having solid moderators will improve the voting process in New Haven. Please consider signing up for the training required to be a moderator. If you are interested, please send your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number to Shannel Evans ([email protected]) and Dolores Knight ([email protected]). (Note: Moderators must be registered to vote in Connecticut.) Shannel and Dolores, the City Registrars, will follow up with everyone who expresses an interest, to coordinate the training sessions. Alders Anna Festa ([email protected]) and Sal DeCola ([email protected]) asked that they be cc’d on the emails to Shannel and Dolores, because they serve on the Alder committee that is trying to improve the voting process and they want to track progress on setting up the training.
Peter Webster will be missed for many reasons when he moves in June, including for his great work as WS Block Watch Captain. It would be wonderful if someone could volunteer to take over this important role from him.
Elections for Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and four at-large members will be held at our June meeting. Please consider getting involved! If you are interested in running, let Peter Webster ([email protected]) know by our March meeting. Based on folks expressing interest, the current eboard will serve as a nominating committee and announce the "slate" of candidates at the April meeting. At the June meeting, before the vote, anyone else is welcome to ask to be considered too. To vote at the June meeting, you must have attended three of six meetings from January to June. Again, please do consider getting involved!
Again, hope to see you at our March meeting!

High Noon
“It’s hiGH NOON, MOTHERFUCKER!”
“It's better to be above ground doin’ this, than below ground doin’ nothin’."
The Basics
Name: Jessie Renalds
Nicknames: Skinny Jhinny (used by his close friend), Ren (used around other Deadeyes)
Title(s): Sheriff
Alias(es): Deadeye, Jhin
Sex: Male
Gender: Male
Height: 6'10"
Weight: ~200 lbs
Ethnicity: Westerner
Eye color: Blue (right, not visible under severe cataract), Red-Brown (left)
Hair color: Dusty Dark Brown
Age: LateThirties
Sexuality: Unspecified, Unconcerned [Questioning]
Relationships: [Anonymous] (close friend, best friend, lowkey crush)
Important Info:
- Deadeye’s real name, Jessie Renalds, is unknown to the general populous. He doesn’t even go by it anymore. Only his closest friend knows it, but they don’t really call him that (unless they’re drunk off their ass, which is, not surprisingly, more often than not).
- Deadeye is a Sheriff in a town called Whisperspring.
= and by ‘Sheriff’ I mean ‘sheriff’ in the Wild West way of meaning 'Sheriff’
- This is the only AU that I’m currently willing to have ships with other blogs with. Though keep in mind: they will likely be more fluffy than anything else, and Deadeye likely won’t be willing to tie himself to dedicated relationships.

In regard to the HN verse....So Is Yas allowed to just go cause troubles in Jhin's village? :3c And just annoy Jhin?
Deadeye stopped what he was doing and looked to the asker.
He stared. He considered. He judged.
And with a grunt, he turned back to his work.
“Don’t break the bell.”
>> *quietly whispers* please

Headcanon (High Noon)
Deadeye has a knack for calming down crying toddlers and infants.
For some reason, whenever he picks them up, they almost instantly calm down. They also doze off rather easily. It’s likely because of his height and his stupidly melodious voice, but it’s still an odd trait.
Other Jhins here would be able to do that too, but unfortunately all except Deadeye and Modern have very little patience for children. Classic honestly hates children with a burning passion, so don’t even ask him to try.

Get-To-Know-You: High Noon Edition
ITS HIGH NOON BOYS
tl;dr for people who don’t read stuff like this:
Deadeye is a grumpy, soft-spoken Sheriff who doesn’t understand emotions that much. He likes shooting things, but also likes fixing things and helping people in the town he’s in charge of: Whisperspring.
Deadeye is a man of few words. He’s polite and courteous, unlike his Classic self, and is somewhat grumpy and short-tempered.
Deadeye gets aggravated quickly by ignorance, long sentences, big words, and the like. If you aren’t quick, blunt, and to the point he’s likely to get frustrated with you and leave - you’re simply wasting his precious time that he’d otherwise like to spend doing something more productive than tending to you.
He's soft-spoken, but has a stature and voice that commands attention. And, by golly, will he get it.
Deadeye will never raise his voice, save for in speaking to a large crowd. In which case he doesn’t hesitate to use his - as thespians call - ‘stage voice’.
Deadeye is the Sheriff of Whisperspring, but also acts as the undisputed Mayor. (Probably because he killed the last one...)
He’s a hirable hitman and bounty hunter, as well, but since taking office in Whisperspring he’s relegated bounty hunting to more of a hobby (and for special favors).
Keep in mind this doesn’t mean he’ll hesitate to shoot you should he ever think he needs to. He’s still got his guns (all of them...). It just means ‘bounty hunter’ is still an appropriate title, but calling him ‘Sheriff’ is favored, since it’s more accurate.
He’s willing to shelter and care for outlaws, weary travelers, the sick and injured, and other people in need of a roof. He’ll also protect them from people trying to hurt or kill them.
Like every other Jhin here, Deadeye is charitable... under the pretense he gets something back. All Jhins here are like this, but where others expect something for them (such as favors, treats, and basically devout worship), Deadeye simply wants you to not be an ass and realize your not going to be pampered or have your needs be put before everyone else’s. (Although he would appreciate what other Jhins here demand, but it’s not required.)
Deadeye is part of a revolutionary alliance against a royal regime. While he doesn’t spend all his time taking part in it, he has taken part in many important victories and steps taken.
“The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, but that doesn’t mean you’ll always be left behind.” -> motto
Miscellaneous Things That You Don’t Have to Read:
Don’t you dare touch his hat. Or his belt. Or any part of him, for that matter.
Unlike Classic, Deadeye can throw some mean punches if you somehow manage to disarm him. He's a talented fist-fighter.
Deadeye has ever-bigger bounties placed on his head by the royal regime who own the territory around Whisperspring (on paper, at least), but most bounty hunters don't dare try and claim it for fear of loosing their lives to either him or the people who actually own the land near Whisperspring.
Deadeye prefers to keep things official, and is concerned more with his job than being friendly.
He’s shy when things get personal. He doesn’t understand feelings.

Deadeye huffed. And he puffed. He glared at the fluffy tail he had found himself with last night after a... questionable night.. that he didn’t quite remember...
The sheriff crossed his arms and grumbled to himself under his breath, scratching the base of his cat ears. Where’s his hat..? And his shawl? He needs to hide all this before anyone important sees him.

Promise me, son, not to do the things I've done. Walk away from trouble if you can. It won't mean you're weak if you turn the other cheek, I hope you're old enough to understand. Son, you don't have to fight to be a man.
>> I was going through an old iPod I found in my house and found so many songs that gave me an even stronger muse for Deadeye (same for Jhin, Ivern, and a few other of my muses) <<
>> This one was my favorite for Deadeye besides the classic Ghost Riders in the Sky. The video is kinda bad in quality, but it has the best audio. <<

Anaconda, Beautiful, and Click: HE SHOWED ME HIS SCARS AND IN RETURN HE LET ME PRETEND THAT I HAD NONE. C2 DUTCH ID 40493, 7 YR &S & WA TING FO HATTAN A , TO BE KILLED – 9/10/2018 “He showed me his scars, and in return he let me pretend that I had none.” ― Madeline Miller, Circe He’s 7 years old, and yet his face wears the scars of a not so happy life. Dutch has been through so much, and the sadness and longing show in his incredibly beautiful eyes. The volunteers adore him, they want so much for him to feel safe, loved, cared for…..after all his travails and travels, to finally sail his tattered ship into a safe harbor. Dutch has nothing but love in his heart, and he is anxious to put the past behind him. Will you give him a future unlike anything he’s ever known? Will you give him a life filled with love, a soft bed to lay his head on, a toy to call his own? Will you give him the TLC he so desperately needs? We guarantee Dutch will pay you back 100-fold. Step up now, save his life. PRIVATE MESSAGE our page or email us at [email protected] for assistance fostering or adopting Dutch. A volunteer writes: Double your pleasure, double your fun, and make double the room in your heart for Dutch. A 7 year-old sweetheart in a honey coat with a sugary smile, and with snuggle skills that are the best of the bunch. Dutch arrived at the shelter without a back story. We can make our assumptions. Trace scrapes and bruises, new and old, and weave a story together for our boy. But our mistake would be to dwell too long on Dutch's potential past. Because this little light is all about the future. Dutch may be firmly in adulthood at 7 years-old but at times he seems more like 7 months! Wiggling his way into your lap, jumping excitedly at the sight of a ball, creeping close for honey-covered kisses. Dutch is so full of happiness, life, and joy, you all but forget those various scrapes and bruises. Dutch is an energetic and playful boy who might do best with an experienced and active family who'll always focus on his bright future and ensure it's just as happy as he is. Dutch is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan ACC. DUTCH, ID # 40493, @ 7 Yrs. Old, 41.6 lbs. Manhattan ACC, Medium Mixed Breed, Tan / White, Male I came into the shelter as a stray on 03-Sep-2018. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. Allows head to be held loosely in Assessor's cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity:: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog's mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Flank squeeze 1:: Item not conducted Flank squeeze 2:: Item not conducted Toy:: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. Dog does not place his/her body between you and the toy. Summary:: Dutch approached the assessor with a soft body. He was social throughout the assessment, allowed all handling, and displayed no concerning behaviors. Summary:: Due to observed concerning behaviors when attempting to assess Dutch's behavior around dogs, it is believed that Dutch may succeed best as the only resident dog at this time. See below: Upon intake, Dutch was discovered to have multiple cuts and wounds. An off leash introduction was not conducted to another dog pending medical examination. When observed to greet another dog through the fence, Dutch displayed minimal interest. A realistic prop dog was walked over to assess Dutch's initial reaction. Dutch immediately rushed over to mount, then began to bite at the legs of the prop dog, remaining difficult to distract. A basket muzzle was applied to Dutch to conduct a greeting to the female helper dog. Dutch was mostly distracted by the presence of the muzzle, though at times was observed to continuously rush after the helper dog with slightly stiff body language. Due to continued distraction and pawing at the muzzle, no further conclusions were able to be drawn during the assessment. While it is strongly recommended that Dutch be the only resident dog, Dutch should be conditioned to a basket muzzle before if any attempts to further assess behavior around other dogs are conducted. The assistance of positive reinforcement based trainer or behaviorist should be consulted beforehand. Date of intake:: 9/3/2018 Summary:: Social, allowed handling Date of initial:: 9/4/2018 ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Dutch so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS:: Dutch consistently displays highly social behavior with his human caretakers outside of his kennel. He maintains a loose wiggly body throughout interactions and solicits attention from handlers. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: EXPERIENCE (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with the behaviors outlined below) Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable Recommendations:: Single-pet home,Recommend no dog parks Recommendations comments:: Single pet home/no dog parks: Due to observed concerning behaviors when attempting to assess Dutch's behavior around dogs, it is believed that Dutch may succeed best as the only resident dog at this time.
