First Failure
@healerrosier
Closed Starter: Evan Rosier
Date: FLASHBACK March 14, 1981
Location: Infirmary âHealing Cornerâ
Hestia had known this was a mistake.
When the talks had started, when Moody had approached her about âexpanding her dutiesâ and Alice had assured her it would be okay, she was made for it, that sheâd already proven herself time and time again...
Three years sheâd given to this organization. And it had taken her a few months to throw it all away. Head Strategist. The worst joke with the most terrible, most horrible punchline.
Mica was gone.
Heâd done what she said, heâd followed the plan, and he. was. gone.
And there was nothing else to be done.
Hestia sat in an armchair that sheâd pushed into the farthest corner, anything to create some space for thought and for breath. Sheâd stayed behind, waiting for Dorcas and Caradoc to get the okay on their injuries. She couldnât leave. It was late. She couldnât go home. The debriefing was done, the others were long gone, and Hestia just sat there staring at the sheet-covered figure lying across the room.
Sheâd nearly forgotten about there was anyone still here, when the Orderâs Head Healer reentered the tiny room.
Evan Rosierâs presence was doing nothing to alleviate the pain building in the forefront of Hestiaâs. Her former Head Boy had never been anything but borderline infuriating to her for as long as heâd known him, and working in proximity with each other through the Order had done nothing to bridge this gap.
Meetings were brief. Pertinent information was exchanged. Things stayed surface. Things stayed civil. If there was thing thing the two of them knew how to be, it was professional. And before someone had the bright idea to let Hestia plan a mission, the only time theyâd see each other is if Hestia needed to inform him of something he missed at a meeting.
But, today, sheâd delivered him a body, and sheâd had to watch helplessly as Evan Rosier had to clean up the horrifying mess sheâd made.Â
On any day other than today, Hestia may have felt nothing but embarrassment. She may have felt nothing but the desire to give Rosier the usual cold shoulder, ashamed that sheâd allowed an old school age rival get one over on her.
But, today was different in every terrible way she could imagine, and so, instead, Hestia found herself asking Evan Rosier a question, keeping her voice as even as possible.
âRosier. What went wrong?â

Badass Nico Di Angelo Moments in ToN that make me Feral
spoilers under the cut for The Tower of Nero!
#1) Nico 100% wanting to help Apollo despite the fact that he's been been having horrible nightmares and PTSD flashbacks, along with hearing voices from Tatarus. Heâs tired of focusing on things that he can't change so instead he focuses on tasks where he actually has control. This is very in character for Nico. Despite pain he perseveres and focuses on the mission, trying to help in anyway he can. This is even after Apollo confirmed Jasons death as well. Jason and Nico were close, and Jason was the first person who accepted him for who he really was. But Nico pushed forward anyway. Â (This is one of the reasons why Reyna basically adopted Nico. He always pushes forward, despite the pain, and perseveres. Something she can relate to.)
#2) Nico stubbornly refusing to watch the original Star Wars trilogy despite the wrath of his Glow-in-the-dark boyfriend
#3) Nico getting Camp Half-Blood to make him his own black T-shirt because he simply refuses to ruin his black-and-white aesthetic
#4) Nico conveniently having a plan to use Troglodytes in the battle against Nero.  (Hey you need an undead army for the battle of Manhattan? oh yeah, the Doors of Death? I know where those are! The Athena Parthenos? I can totally carry that across the world without disintegrating into shadow! Hey Percy just swim in the River Styx DUH. seriously I never get tired of Nico finding ways to save the day.)
#5) Nico leaping across a fucking cater onto a crane and scaring the living shit out of Apollo. My boys giving his future Father-in-Law a heart attack đ
#6) Nico saving Apolloâs ass Pt.1 by shadow traveling him and Meg away from feral death cows at the last second.Â
#7) Nico saving Apolloâs ass Pt.2 by fucking turning a guard into a skeleton right before that bitch was about to stab Apollo in the chestÂ
#8) Nico saving Apolloâs ass Pt.3 by dragging Apollo across Neros Tower while he simultaneously cut through monsters without even slowing down or hesitating as Apollo was giggly, delirious, and injured. I'm also really glad that Apollo noted how Nico is much stronger than he looks. Nico may look like a twig at first but even Jason said at one point (was it in MoA or HoH?) that Nico had gained muscle from sword training after Tartarus. People always characterize Nico as not eating either (which is true when he's feeling really depressed) but he's gotten better at it since BoO.Â
#9) Nico saving Apolloâs ass Pt.4 with his dramatic entrance. literally breaking down Neros blast doors with a fucking feral bull that he somehow turned into a skeleton. And then this dramatic bitch who is 100% sick of Neros B.S has the audacity to point to Nero and say âKill that oneâ. Honestly picturing the Bull scene is hilarious to me. Imagine being seconds away from killing Apollo after years of planning, only to be interrupted by an exasperated, beat-to-shit, battle hardened, feral 15 yr old, who looks like he should be working at Hot Topic. And is he wearing a white cowboy hat?? Where did he get a bull??? The randomness and pure panic in that scene is absolutely gold. Nico Di Angelo is an agent of chaos and I live for it.Â
#10) Nico fighting a group of Germani by himself in Nero throne room while his bull wreaks havoc on all those who get in its path. Bonus points for saving Apollo from that one wolf monster who was about to bite his head off (Nico saving Apollos ass Pt.5 lol. Seriously Will you need to tell your dad that Nico isn't a babysitter)Â
#11) Apollo giving Nico an opening to attack Nero by shooting one of the Germani heâs locked in combat with. The second Nico gets a chance this boy doesn't hesitate. He fucking tires to cut Nero in half !!!  if Nero wasn't immortal he wouldâve been done for! So when cutting Nero in half doesnât work and Nico sword getâs grabbed and tossed across the room what does he try??? Does he back off like a normal person?? NO! HE TRIES TO STRANGLE THAT BITCH!!! đđđ This gremlin child 100% tried to strangle an immortal emperor! He said âI don't need a sword to kill you bitch, try meâ. Nico Di Angelo is raw as fuck. and that only in this book. The son of Hades wakes up every morning and chooses violence. I love him.
#12) The fact that Nico is willing to go back to Tartarus, the place that left him with immeasurable trauma, just to save Bob. because he âdoesn't like when people are forgottenâ. (this is the boy who spent most of his life alone, who talked to Hestia when no-one else noticed her, who spent time with Bob when everyone had forgotten about him. Who always selflessly tried to help other people because he knows what it like to be miserable and in pain. Nico is such a sweetie.)Â
#I only bow to one king#I loved the Nico moments in this book#nico and will were both badass#don't worry I know Apollo was badass too#I just like making fun of him sorry#nico will forever be my favorite#also is nobody gonna talk about that scene where Apollo sniffed Nicos hair đđ#and nico was like yo what the fuck. bro your getting nose blood in my hair ew#will come get your dad#he definitely has a concussion#I was also so proud of meg in this book#my feral trash daughter#she's beautiful#the tower of nero#the tower of nero spoilers#the trials of apollo#toa#ton spoilers#nico di angelo#Will solace#percy jackson#meg mcaffery#lester papadopoulos#trials of apollo#jason grace#tower of nero#tower of nero spoilers#nico di angelo headcanon#will solace headcanon#solangelo

Finally there. The last chapter. The epilogue. The long awaited finale with a Raven redemption, Adrian's story, reactions and a lot of fluffy fluff! Over 3000 words for this.
LIFE GOES ON
Bruce stood at his window, overlooking the rose garden in the backyard, gathered with everyone except Damian and Marinette. There was a strong sense of anticipation in the room. As Bruce looked about him, some of the Kwami zooming around the room, he thought back to the events three years ago. Guardian Angel officially joining the Justice League, the great battle of Gotham, and returning of teenage renegade to Paris. He still got chills when he remembered Agreste's statement of events.
The room was quiet for a moment as Adrien tried to think of where to begin. He stared at the ceiling.
"It starts a year before Hawkmoth first appeared. My mother and father and I lived happily together, father was busy at work, but we were all very happy. Sometimes I would hear them shouting, but it would turn to moans not long after, and father told me when I asked once that mother just needed to be loved properly. Then mother disappeared and father searched furiously for her, until eventually she was proclaimed as dead. Father became distant, and I rarely ever saw him except if I messed up or something. So I tried to be the perfect son, but I wanted some freedom, friends, to fall in love like all my animes. I snuck out of the mansion to go to school, and almost made it in when I saw this old man needed help. So my father's assistant caught me and brought me home. But there was a box on my table, and with it I became Chat Noir. I thought Ladybug was my soulmate because how could we not be? Then my father agreed to let me go to school and I became friends with Marinette and Nino and Alya and my childhood friend Chloe was there too. It was perfect. I was a hero, I had friends, I had a soulmate. But Ladybug was always turning me down, and she was allowed to choose more heroes, and she refused to have any fun. And then Lila Rossi transferred and she liked to tell tall tales, but she wasn't hurting anyone. Marinette was just being too hard on her, too stubborn. If she'd just let it go, just played nice, she would've been fine. Lila would eventually get tired of it all. I always had her back and she knew that. Her 14th birthday, Lila told me about Marinette's love for me. Marinette was supposed to wait for me and we would have a magical night. I found her a ways away, and thought she'd just gotten sick of waiting for me, but I made it up to her and brought her home. But two nights later, the police swarmed our home, and were shouting about my father being Hawkmoth, which is impossible, because he was Akumatized! And I was taken in, because Chat Noir was being accused of rape! And Nathalie was supposed to be Mayura! And none of that made sense! So I tried to have them find Marinette, because she would be able to clear everything up. Three days went by when Ladybug showed up, carrying Marinette's dead body to the police. She had a video of my classmates hurting her, hurting Marinette. And she had the power to fix her and didn't. I was devastated. Then Marinette appeared to me. She was as real and bright as ever. She wanted to be with me. And I wanted to create the perfect world for her. Our class would all be friends, Chloe would be nice to her, and Lila would be her best friend, and Marinette would be Ladybug instead. My mother and father would be happy and together forever, and they would love Marinette just as much as me. Marinette was the one who planned everything and told me what to do. But I knew no one else saw her. But I did as she told me, because once I made my wish, nothing bad would ever happen to her again" Adrien spoke with passion in his voice, but his eyes never met theirs.
Batman and Wonder Woman's eyes met. This wasn't their first rodeo with the mentally unstable.
"Do you feel any remorse at all, knowing that those lives you took will forever remain dead?" Wonder Woman asked.
"Ladybug is the only one guilty. She could bring them back if she wanted to."
"The ladybug powers do not work like that. My mother was once a Ladybug. She needs to absorb the negative energy of a magical attack, like with the Demon, and she uses that to rebuild the world. She can not create or bring back life or heal, because when she does it, she is merely absorbing the darkness from their bodies. Otherwise there would never have been ill in Paris. The dead would have risen everyday. Can you not see that? " Wonder Woman asked.
" Marinette would never lie to me" Adrien stated. He was looking to his side, smiling softly. Wonder Woman was especially concerned that he saw her still, even while under the influence of the rope of Hestia, which should break through every delusion.
The interview concluded, it was decided that Adrien Agreste would serve life in a French Asylum, without bail. When his family was contacted, his father was emotionless, his mother just disinterested. She'd always known he'd be just like his father.
Bruce came back to the present when Damian and Marinette walked onto the scene below. Her 18th birthday was just around the corner, and they were planning a family party for her in that very garden. But Damian had asked for a sem-private moment with her. Knowing they'd all find a way to spy on them anyways, he'd told them to just watch from the office. Damian had grown up a lot since meeting Marinette. He was still chaos impersonate, still the calm before the storm and determined beyond anyone else his age. But he was also considerate of other people, he didn't lash out as quickly or as violently. He took the time to get to know his brothers better, and he showed his gratitude to them in small ways, like remembering their favorite bands and buying concert tickets, or simply sitting with them after a rough mission instead of dealing with it alone. The family was closer than ever before. So Bruce smiled with hope when he watched Damian kneel in the grass.
Dick watched as Damian walked into the garden, speaking quietly with his "Angel". She'd grown into a beautiful young woman, her scars had healed, both physically and emotionally with the constant presence of Damian at her side. He proved his love to her with every word he spoke, with every comforting hug. He truly always had her back and there was nothing the youngest Wayne wouldn't do for Marinette. Even forgiving Raven.
Nightwing and StarFire took Raven back to Star City, where they had built a special cage built in case Trigon ever sent his sons to do his bidding. Placing Raven inside, Nightwing paced. He still remembered Guardian Angel's expression as she fell, thinking that it had been Damian. More than that, he remembered watching as Raven ruthlessly ripped the earrings out of Marinette's ears, or the sick smirk on her face. He paced some more, ignoring Korri's worried looks. When Raven started stirring he walked in, expression cold as he stared down at the petite girl. Once, he would have been happy to call her sister. Now though.
"What happened?" Raven asked, looking at the cage around her. His frown deepened.
"How dare you?" he hissed, the snake miraculous still gleaming around his wrist. He was usually the one to enforce the "no kill" rule the strongest amongst the family, but he could feel the temptation to strongly. Raven furrowed her brow, trying to remember what had happened to get her locked up, but could remember nothing past Damian walking into the ballroom with a girl on his arm. She'd remembered feeling slightly crushed that her crush seemed to have moved on, but the next she knew, everything went dark. Now here she was, in a cage to hold her brothers. What had she done?
"WhatâŠ. What have I done?" Raven asked, her voice pleading. Nightwing felt his anger rise even more. How dare she sit there, looking innocent. He couldn't believe anything she said or did, because really, who would turn so willingly on her teammates. Who would abandon their friends in mid battle and turn around and kill one of them. He didn't believe the innocent act at all. Korri placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to step in front of him but he wouldn't budge, glaring with all the hatred an older brother could feel.
"Damian had just walked in with the new member of the Justice League. I was sad, because⊠Well, you know I have a crush on him. But then things got dark, and I heard someone saying something, like a whisper. I thought I passed out. What happened?" she asked again. Nightwing was still not buying it. He felt his hackles rise, wanting to get her to confess.
"And you just expect me to believe that?" he growled, his muscles tensing.
"Nightwing! We know how powerful Trigon is! He only just escaped, we have no idea if he left a mark on her!"
"we also know that Raven is more powerful than that. She has him captured. Is it so wrong to believe she just snapped?" Nightwing snapped at Korri, the image would forever haunt him.
"What?" Raven was so confused. Korri wasn't much better, since she had been on the other side of the battle, and with second chance, no one else remembered anyways. Perhaps we should call WonderWoman here" Korri suggested calmly, trying to settle the tension in Nightwing's shoulders. Nightwing wanted to just throw the cage into a deep hole and never look at her again.
A Portal suddenly opened behind them and Robin stepped through. His fox transformation had long worn off, but Nightwing knew he still had it on him. However, instead of turning on Raven and tearing into her, he turned to Nightwing and held out his hand.
"Guardian Angel I'd worried about your emotional stability right now. Hand over the Miraculous before you do something that will haunt you as much as whichever image makes you so angry now. The ability to fix or change a situation can corrupt even the purest of souls, and you haven't been tested to be a permanent holder." Nightwing didn't even twitch, keeping his arms crossed and his face in a scowl. Nobody would even remember if he slid his finger over the bracelet.
"Please Richard. You do not want that on your conscience" Robin pleaded, his face softening into understanding. And really, who other than Robin, and maybe Red Hood, would understand better? He sighed and reached for the bracelet.
"Transform me" he mumbled, and a blue light went up under his other suit. Sass flew right through the portal, a blue blur trying to get away. Nightwings shoulders hunched. He was no better than that blonde idiot and his friends. Robin grasped the Miraculous and reached his other hand on his shoulder. "No one knows what you do about this battle, Richard, though Guardian Angel has a guess she won't share. What you saw was one outcome, one possibility of many, and you prevented the worst. But you are not all knowing about people, and the Justice League has wrongfully confronted Raven once before. Let Wonder Woman question Raven, and take comfort that no matter her answer, it is the truth."
" when did you get so wise, baby bird?" Nightwing whispered, finally relaxing his posture completely.
" Angel told me most of what I should say before I came through. The restâŠ. I've just had some good influences in my life, I guess"
Nightwing smiled and Robin stepped back through the portal to Gotham. A few minutes later, Wonder Woman stepped through her own.
"Agreste?" Nightwing asked.
"Still in surgery. Oracle said she'd monitor him for me and send me back in time for the questioning. Now, Guardian said you needed my help?" Korri nodded.
"I'm afraid we can't just accept her word at face value right now. We have no idea if what she's saying is true."
Wonder Woman nodded and sent the Rope of Hestia through a breathing hole. Raven easily picked it up and wrapped it around her wrist multiple times and looked up.
" What is the last thing you remember?" Wonder Woman asked.
" We were all in the ballroom, and Damian came walking in with the new girl. He looked so calm and happy and kept staring at her. I was choking a little bit. I'd had a crush on him since he first came to the tower, and⊠I just wanted to get some fresh air. I couldn't breathe properly and my head was starting to hurt. I kept hearing whispering, and I just thought some of the guests had noticed, but then I just blacked out. I came to and I was in this box" Raven stated, looking concerned. Oracle decided to find footage of the ballroom.
"Found her. Here come Damian and⊠Raven just grabbed her head. She is shaking it slightly. I'm picking up a rusty red glow from the jewel in her head. And she's back. She changes her outfit around the time Wonder Woman starts talking. But otherwise, there's no change" Oracle dictates over the comms.
"Can you please send Guardian through? We may need her to look at the jewel and drain it" Wonder Woman says. The comms are quiet for a while, before finally another portal opens. Guardian Angel comes through, followed closely by Robin with his katana drawn. Raven groans slightly and reaches for her head.
"Did I steal your sword?" she asks, her eyes wide and worried. Robin merely nodded before looking at his Angel. She takes a deep breath before walking up to the box.
"Please stand as close to grass as possible" she tells Raven. She's weary, and something is telling her not to, but Wonder Woman gives her a firm tug of the rope, and glares at her in warning. She crawls over to glass and shakily stands up, placing her forehead to the hold not with the rope through it. Guardian Angel raises her hand and places it over the glass on her side, and immediately a black aura tries to lash out at her. She flies back against the far wall, and Robin and Nightwing become defensive.
"NO! Get out of my head!" Raven yells, falling back to the ground and clutching her ears. Guardian Angel is on her feet immediately and rushes back, breaking the glass container. She clutches her hands around Ravens and whispers in an ancient tongue, the Guardian Language. A pink glow emanates from their forms and when it disappears, Guardian Angel is passed out, and Raven is barely hanging onto consciousness. The crystal that once held her father, a black diamond in her head, is now pink.
"He's gone!" Raven manages to whisper out, before passing out as well. Robin rushes to his Angel's side and quickly brings her through the portal back to Gotham, while the others all stare at Raven. Now what do they do?
Dick remembered how Raven struggled with her magic after that. It took her months to gain back control, as her father had been slowly corrupting it, and with it, Raven as well. But Marinette never held her in contempt, like Dick had. She forgave her and helped her heal, and Damian meditated with her to help as well. Raven was now Marinette's best friend, and she wholly agreed that she was better off with Tim, who had been by her side, analyzing her magic capability. Their family had grown so strong from her forgiving and kind nature. He smiled as he tuned back in to see Marinette throw herself into Damian's embrace.
Tim was so happy, watching his little brother and his future-sister-in-law on the lawn. The past three years had gone by quickly, with Damian growing up into a strong, pure force for good. He looked down to Raven's smiling face, and knew she felt nothing but content, watching her sister in all but blood be so overcome with joy. Three years ago, no one would've thought that this would be the outcome after the exhausting battle and aftermath.
The destruction cleaned up, the villains in jail, Raven cleansed and only waiting to hear Agreste's story, Timothy couldn't quite rest yet. He went to the detention centre and asked to see the Parisian boys, to hear what they had to say. He'd come alone, but saw no reason for them to lie or try to fight. He still had his transformation going under his Red Robin suit, so he was confident he'd be okay.
"Max KantĂȘ and Nino Lahiffe. I've come to take your statements" he said, funnelling as much authority as he could into his statements. The boys' heads snapped up from where they sat. Max gulped audibly, while Nino just looked exhausted. He nodded and sat up a bit.
"Why did you come to Gotham?"
"I wanted to warn Marinette. Max wasn't given a choice" Nino stated calmly.
"I believe from video evidence that Marinette is dead" Red Robin said. Nino just shook his head.
"I think a part of me always knew, but I just didn't want to think, at first, that one of my best friends would go swinging into danger like that. Then, after Lila joined, it was just easier to believe her. And she hated Marinette, so she couldn't be Ladybug. Ladybug carrying Marinette's body into the police station would've fooled most, but I just always had a feeling she wasn't completely gone. I just⊠Assumed I guess⊠" Nino tapered off, looking at Red Robin hopefully.
" Marinette Dupain-Cheng is dead" he shook his head. Nino's face fell and he looked at his hands. He shook and cried. He'd been against Alya's plan to attack Marinette, and hadn't been there. Maybe he could've stopped it. He thought that maybe that was why he'd come. A second chance to be a real friend.
Max looked lifelessly at Red Robin.
"My family was murdered by Adrien. I⊠I have nowhere to go." He finally managed to choke out. Red Robin nodded, aware of the atrocities committed in Paris.
"What do you want to happen? You both were the reason the Justice League was able to mobilize so quickly. From evidence gathered and statements from Cesaire, we were able to gather that neither of you ever did anything against the law or of your own free will. KantĂȘ, as you said, your family is unable to take guardianship of you, and if you choose to return to Paris, you may be held in contempt from the public. Lahiffe, your family has been made aware, but they are currently speaking to Social Services, as they're scared for their other son's health and safety" Tim said.
"And if we stay here?" Max asked while Nino broke into a fresh wave of tears. He'd never be allowed near Chris again.
"... The Teen Titans have long asked for an Oracle of their ownâŠ" Red Robin tapered off, leaving the rest for them to interpret and think about," you'd be under house arrest for a while at least. But⊠You could do some real good there."
Max nodded after a moment and Nino did too, still too emotionally distraught to do much else. Red Robin smiled.
"You'll be moved to your new residence in a couple of weeks," he said, and turned and left as abruptly as he came.
Max KantĂȘ, now known as Le DonnĂšes and Nino Lahiffe, now SĂ©curise, became an integral part of Teen Titan operations and training, often conferring with Oracle on large Justice League missions. It was easy to say that they'd become amazing heroes. Nino and Max were in Paris now, in fact, for the first time since leaving. Nino had earned his right to see his brother again, but didn't want to go alone. They'd been quite emotional when Marinette came to them the first time, and they'd become close friends once again. Things were far from perfect in the world, but right this moment, nothing at all could ruin this.
And done. I hope you enjoyed! I've been reading a lot salt and angst, and I wanted to get this out of my system, and maybe write another, more happy, one soon. I'm afraid there's no tag list for this because like an idiot, I forgot to write it out, but I'll try to add it in post haste

AMELIA BONES is TWENTY-SIX YEARS OLD and a TRAINEE PROSECUTION BARRISTER in THE DEPARTMENT OF MAGICAL LAW ENFORCEMENT at THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC. She looks remarkably like ADRIA ARJONA and considers herself NEUTRAL. She is currently DECEASED.
â OVERVIEW:
With an internationally renown charms professor as a mother and a famous explorer as a father, itâs no surprise that Amelia Bones had turned into the woman she was today. Strong, confident, dedicated and loyal. She was a Paragon of a student and would let nothing get between herself and her goals. Amelia was born first, followed by VICTORIA BONES a year later. Finally, the youngest of the three, EDGAR BONES, was born two years later. The three siblings had a fairytale upbringing; they lived in a small cottage in a wizarding village in the midlands, swam in brooks and spent afternoons eating strawberries and bathing in golden rays of sun. Whenever their father was home, heâd tell them about his adventures in the Amazon Rainforest and the secrets of the wizarding tribes from within. Amelia craved for adventure, for action, to be an explorer like her father. It was her motherâs realism that would bring Amelia back from her daydreaming. Her mother instilled a sense of order over her and her siblings, all three of them starting lessons early and learning the most basic charms before even receiving their letters to Hogwarts. The order and adventure from her parents, manifested into one career goal for Amelia, to be an Auror. She was more sure of this than anything else in her life and once her mind was made up, it may as well have been written in stone.Â
Unfortunately, her parents marriage was not so certain. Her parents hadnât had the smoothest relationship lately which resulted in her mother and Victoria moving to France. Her mother applied for a position at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and they welcomed her with open arms. Amelia was devastated by the fact that they had left and it had felt like she had lost two parts of herself, her mother and sister. To make things worse, due to work, their father would disappear for weeks at a time, only to return and act as if nothing had changed. During those times their House-Elf Pipbsy would care for them, making sure they had food, that the cottage was clean and that the two children were safe in bed at night. Amelia appreciated the help but she felt the urge to look after Edgar by herself, to be the woman of the house. She was forced to mature faster than other girls her age and just as she thought things could only get better, her mother came to visit, only to declare that she was taking Edgar back with her, that it wasnât Ameliaâs fault, she had done a perfect job, but rather that their fatherâs negligence worried her and that Amelia would be attending Hogwarts in the summer and that she should stay. Despite Ameliaâs pleas, her mother was determined and Amelia sat at the kitchen table, watching as her little brother apparated away with their mother.Â
Amelia told herself it was for the best, she could concentrate on her school work and her dream to become an Auror. Amelia was soon sorted in Hufflepuff and decided to keep her head down, studying hard, only making friends with a few of her dorm-mates and MARIANNE MACMILLAN whom she shared a couple of classes with. Amelia was an overachiever if you had ever seen one and whilst this left a fantastic lasting impression on her Professors, it turned the heads of a few nasty bullies such as WALDEN MACNAIR. She soon found a friend in FABIAN PREWETT, who unlike his brother, was academically focused like she was. In her second year, Amelia really started opening up. When EDWARD TONKS arrived at Hogwarts and was sorted into Hufflepuff, she couldnât help but see her little brother in him and instantly became his friend. However, the biggest surprise of Ameliaâs whole Hogwarts career was when Edgar stepped forward to sit underneath the sorting hat. She let out a small yelp when his name had been called and she could have sworn she screamed the loudest when he was sorted in Hufflepuff too. She had no idea that her brother was in the United Kingdom, never mind Hogwarts. After that, sheâd spend a lot of her time chatting up with Edgar, learning French and writing letters to Victoria who was still in France, studying at Beauxbatons.
Amelia was a sucker for the underdog and would always help those that were either being bullied or those that had potential but didnât believe in themselves. She assumed this was one of the reasons why she was made a prefect first in her fifth-year, and again in her sixth. Because of this, most of her friends were prefects, such as FREDRICK WEASLEY, who was quiet and reserved but still extremely fun to be around. It wasnât long until Ted had been made a prefect which she found so exciting as they could spend more time together and the boy truly deserved the position. She soon became protective over Ted in a motherly way. She knew that she could be overbearing sometimes, it wasnât her fault, it was just the way she was. That said, the day she found out that Ted had become friends with ANDROMEDA BLACK, she almost lost it. Andromeda was one of the notorious Black sisters who was sure to have some plan up her sleeve since why else would a blood extremist find interest in the Muggle-Born wizard? Amelia had become Head Girl in her Seventh Year and worked closely with COINNEACH MCKINNON, the Head Boy. She applied for the Auror training programme with the intention of joining the Auror office, and once she passed her N.E.W.T.S with flying colours, she was awarded a spot. Amelia was overjoyed, the hard work had paid off and her dreams were finally coming true.Â
It only took six months before Amelia realised that her dreams werenât how she had imagined them to be. Perhaps she had changed over the years or perhaps the law simply wasnât what she thought it was. During their compulsory law modules, classes that she soon shared with Andromeda, she began to see how inequality and bias plagued the current laws of the wizarding community. She began to see that she could help more, make a bigger difference by becoming a member of the Wizgamot. She applied for extra courses to help her transition from the Auror Office to the Wizgamot office. After completing her Auror training she did an additional year in barrister theory before she begun her practical training years. Amelia aimed to be a barrister, not only to ensure that there was no bias against favourable criminals, but that there was also no discrimination against minority groups such as House-Elves and Werewolves. She was assigned to train under HARRISON BAGNOLD. Their beliefs aligned and the two became a force to reckon with. Unfortunately, their opposition was just as skilled and cunning. Andromeda, was a trainee defence barrister and her mentor, RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE was renown for winning his cases. Andromeda and Amelia became adversaries, constantly trying to be one step ahead of their opponent to win the case. What do you get when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? One hell of a show, thatâs for sure.Â
Amelia uses her adventurous nature and Auror training to aid her cases, investigating leads and witnesses. This, however, is very much frowned upon by the other Aurorâs and has been caught out multiple times by CLAUDETTE DELACOUR and HESTIA JONES. With Hestia, Amelia had more trouble slipping away from, Claudette however, was a little easier. The chemistry between them made it so easy for Amelia to flirt with her that the two would often end of going for a drink. Amelia honestly enjoyed her time with Claudette but knew that she was way too career-orientated to allow herself to enter any serious relationship, besides, Claudette seemed to have enough romance trouble without Amelia. At an underground speak-easy, Amelia was working on a case, following a lead on a vampire murder when she bumped into Edgar. Edgar revealed that he had joined a secret group who intended to fight fire with fire. The idea that her little brother was on a deadly mission put her on edge. During the discussion, Edgar urged that if Amelia was so worried about him, she should join the cause. Amelia declined, she was certain she could do more good in the courtroom. She warned that Edgar was going to get himself killed and only hoped that sheâd never see her brother in one of the courtrooms, taking the stand, about to be prosecuted by his own blood, herself. Â

I guess I never properly introduced you guys to Sekhmet (if youâve seen some of @uppastthejelliclemoonâs posts involving her and a Hestia you have a glance at her) so Iâll give you an intorduction and a little insite as to why the minor display of affection is a huge thing for her.
So this is Sekhmet:
She is the first born daughter of Macavity and Athena (another OC of mine). She has magic, which is a prime reason Macavity allowed her to live sheâd later learn, it is golden in color and she specializes in disappearing and teleporting as well as being a very clever actress. She was trained harshly by Macavity from the time she was very young to control her magic and use it to do all mannor of things. When she was four months old and learning to disappear she failed to produce results to Macavityâs standards so he lashed out and clawed her shoulder leaving a nasty scar under her fur. When she was around a year old her younger brother Ares was born, another magical kit that Macavity began to train like Sekhmet. Despite the harsh methods of their father Sekhmet did look after Ares and the two were fairly close. As they grew older they grew more and more emotionally distant. When Sekhmet was two her mother gave birth to another female kit, Sekhmet was secretly excited to have another younger sibling but her joy was very short lived when Macavity ran both Athena and the newborn kit off simply because the kitten wasnât magic. A little later Athena and the kitten came back hoping to be taken back into the Hidden Paw but Macavity, even more daranged and power driven, killed them both without even an ounce of remorse. After her mother and younger sister were killed Sekmhet fell victim to even more of her fatherâs brutal training, she has many small scars under her fur from him lashing out during magic training and with each one she grew more and more closed off herself.
Around the time Sekhmet was three she went to the junkyard and tried to lure Hestia outside of its protective spell to injure the kitten and get into the junkyard. During their fight Hestia magnates to break past Sekhmetâs many years worth of walls and get the older queen to admit she hated her life and that she was terrified to end up like her father. Hestia offered her help and Sekmhet agreed to think about the offer before returning to Macavity reporting sheâd failed her mission, that made her father extremely angry and he lashed out at her clawing her ear. That was the final straw for Sekhmet and she soon returned to the junkyard allowing Hestia to help her get away from her father.
Hestia introduced Sekhmet to Munkustrap, Demeter, Tugger and Misto first and the meeting didnât go as planned. Upon finding out Sekhmet was Macavityâs kitten the adults all went into protective mode, Tugger hissed at Sekhmet while pulling Hestia away and Misto summoned his own magic intimidatingly, Sekmhet was scared and she nearly ran away but forced herself to stay, in her scared state her magic began to express the fear she couldnât outwardly show by causing a breeze to blow through the area and shift her fur enough for Tugger to see a familiar set of scars on her shoulder. Hestia quickly stepped in and defended the older queen and slowly the adults came around.
After moving into the junkyard for good Sekmhet was quickly adopted by Bomba, the red queen understood exactly what Sekhmet had been through and it gave them a connection Sekhmet didnât share with the other Jellicles. Hestia and Bomba quickly became the only cats Sekhmet opened up a bit more too for a long time.
After getting a little more settled in Sekhmet was trying to get better at showing her emotions to more than Hestia or Bomba and so when she and Tugger sat together watching Hestia, Sekhmet saw the unbridled love and support for Hestia in the tomâs eyes she knew she wanted to show Tugger how greatful she was to him for making sure Hestia was raised better than herself. And so that day Sekmhet allowed herself to finally open up to someone new as she cuddled herself close to Tuggerâs side and let him hold her. Not too much longer down the line Sekhmet surprises Tugger yet again by calling him âDadâ out of the blue like it was just as normal as calling Bomba âMomâ. Tugger would happily admit that he cried a little (a lot) that day because it meant that Sekhmet had finally cut all her attachment to Macavity for good, Misto felt a little jealous of this but a few days later thatâs remedied when Sekhmet lovingly calls him her âstep papaâ and makes the magical tom cry in joy.
All these little things, showing affection and emotion, are huge things for Sekhmet because she came from a very abusive and emotionally barren upbringing. Think of a cat rescued from an abusive home, it doesnât trust anyone and itâs always scared and some times lashes out because it doesnât know that others are trying to help and love them. Thatâs exactly Sekhmet for probably about a year after Hestia meets her.
So that was my OC Sekhmet! Iâve actually had a lot of fun growing her from a simple OC that was emotionally distant and evil into this amazing queen thatâs over come her abusive upbringing with the help of her little sister and a new family.

The first half of February is buried in preparations for the upcoming mission as well as the occasional breakfast at Strongarm Cottage which nourishes Edgarâs soul as much as his body. The second half is turbulent and overshadowed by the mission which albeit being a success, feels like another defeat. The Rosier Engagement Party causes yet another death, yet another betrayal, and even an injury on Edgarâs part. And suddenly heâs forced to consider bringing the war home to his family -- the only aspect of his life heâs managed to keep out of the war so far.
21st of January - 13th of February A Month At Strongarm Cottage â Self-Para. After Caradoc proves to have a heart, Edgar and his friendship blooms again, furthered only by Fabianâs sober presence and the fun the three have together over meal times. They discuss Order matters regularly, causing Fabian to accidentally be more informed and involved than some other Inner Circle member, but also just spend a lot of time enjoying the calm before the storm.
14th The Rosier Engagement Party The Pieces â Edgar, polyjuiced as Elladora, and Caradoc are out to find the Orb in the Rosier Manor. Itâs on their way to the basement that Edgar sees Amelia, on a date with Ainsley, but before he can go up to her and send her home, Caradoc reminds him that they have to focus on the mission. They find the Orb. Upon touching it, Caradoc seems unwillingly attracted by the dark magic for a moment. Orb â Self-Para. As the battle breaks out, caused by Ainsleyâs attack on James, leading to his death, Edgar wants to fight with Caradoc and find Amelia, but heâs sent home. Caradoc promises him that heâll bring Amelia to safety but that they cannot lose the Orb again. So Edgar disapparates back to the Potter Estate â splinching while doing so. Emmeline finds him but in his last moments of clarity he demands Lily to take care of the Orb. Peaceful â Amelia comes to visit him in the makeshift hospital at the Potter Estate.
15th Deeper Than All Roses â Letter. For some reason, despite Emmelineâs best efforts, Edgarâs bones refuse to regrow, causing him to lose his little finger forever. Itâs his right hand, which is the one with which he used to hold Ameliaâs hand with since they were very little, and the irony of this, considering what Ainsley has done and his feelings towards that, is not lost. The injury, shock and healing potions take a great toll on him anyway, and the moments between sleeping spells are rare and few. Thus, much like many others, Fabian comes to Edgarâs hospital bed only to find him asleep. He leaves a charming and humourous letter that causes Edgarâs first smile since he found the Orb.  In his brief moments of being awake, he learns about what caused the battle at the Rosier Engagement party, about the new recruits, as well as about the outcome of the different missions.
16th Two of those visitors are Benjy and Ryland. Healerâs Quarters â Benjy solely because heâs helping Emmeline out. They talk about what happened as well as more trivial things, and while Edgar is the one to answer Benjyâs unsettled questions, he also finds himself somewhat comforted by the conversation. Quod Salvatum â And Ryland because he wants to ask Edgar about re-warding his apartment, seeing as how the old wards were made by Ainsley, and he assumes Ainsley betrayed them willfully. Edgar doubts it, firmly of the opinion that it was a kill, not murder, but agrees to help him with his wards. Forward â Edgar realises that in times like these, to forget the chaos of war and relax, heâd now usually go drink with Fabian. Seeing as how this is no longer an option, he fears the friendship with Fabian is now irreversibly changed. Nevertheless, he seeks him out at Strongarm Cottage one last time to find out if what they had before was all due to the alcohol, or because they really do fit together. This is also when Edgar learns that Fabian received a job offer as Flying Instructor at Hogwarts, and that Gideon reacted horribly when he learnt of Fabianâs illness.
17th Edgarâs apartment â Finally out of the hospital and back at home, Daisy shows up at his door, in turmoil and in tears. Ainsleyâs betrayal has taken its toll on her, and itâs then that Edgar admits that he feels guilty for what Ainsley did. He told her to protect Vanessa at all cost â and deep down he knows he wouldâve done exactly the same thing.
18th Lightning Crashes â Ainsley is still gone, but the Daily Prophet wrote about her kindly, saying that what she did was indeed just self-defense. This brings the mood in the Order to a boiling point, and the Inner Circle decides to go look for her; starting in her apartment, at least to be doing something. They work on the wards all day but donât find her. Â At night, Severus finds Edgar in front of the Potter Estate, trying to ward it all by himself despite his injured hand. He tells him about what he learnt in the last Death Eater meeting.
19th The Next Right Thing â Alice is angry about Jamesâ death and demands they finally find Ainsley. Edgar argues that even if they found her, they wouldnât know what to do with her, considering that the Ministry already hhad her but let her go again. He finds it worrying how one death seems to be robbing people off their senses. To him, Alice has always been the one person who refuses to go against the law, and now she wants to find Ainsley herself? And sheâs not the only one who is speaking like this, and Edgar is worried. To him, it feels like the war is spiraling faster and faster these days.
20th  Professional Courtesy â Still believing that Ainsley acted out of fear and is now hiding from the Order, Edgar doesnât expect to find Ainsley in the office of the Daily Prophet where they both work. When he does, there is a moment of shock where he doesnât know what to do, which side to take, who to believe, before he finally learns the whole truth. Ainsley really is with the Death Eaters now, saying that she needs to help Voldemort win the war if she wants to protect her sister. But instead of immediately acting, Edgar suggests to have Caradoc wipe her memory, at least just enough to protect the people in the Order, and says that if she refuses -- refuses to leave the Daily Prophet as well so that no one can find her -- the Order is going to find her and do much worse. He realises that he still loves her too much to betray her, even though he knows full well that this means heâs betraying the Order.
21st Forest â From his hospital bed a week ago, Edgar wrote Remus a letter home to hear if he was okay. He received no answer so heâs relieved to see him at the McKinnon Farm now, about to check on the werewolves there. Edgar is there for the same reasons, wishing to let them know that the outing of Remusâ secret will not change anything On their way there they talk about how Jamesâ death changes things but about how theyâre both still determined to keep fighting.
22nd AdivinaciĂłn â Sirius receives a mysterious message, telling him to go meet specific someone at a specific place, alone, for a specific reason. All becomes clear when the Black brothers come back to the Head Quarters together: Regulus has found a way to defeat Voldemort, and his loyalty might not be with the Order, but itâs certainly not with Voldemort either, and thatâs enough for now to trust him. Edgar meets him outside, after they initiate him (carefully, as for now, not even Sirius really trusts him fully), and finds out more about the young man in a little chat. By the end of it, Edgar believes Regulusâ motivations.
23rd How To Destroy a Soul  â Regulus brought a little necklace with him, and itâs Edgarâs job to bring it to the Orderâs Dark Magic Specialists â which used to be Ainsley and Gideon, and is now only Gideon. Someone, who Edgar is currently not too happy about, considering what heâs heard from Fabian. The necklace he carries doesnât make his emotional state any better. The same afternoon, feeling strangely light after getting rid of the necklace, he goes back to the Head Quarters. He means to bring the Minutes to a safe place â now that the Potter Estate is no longer a secret â and finds Hestia searching for a notebook as well. They talk, and Edgar asks her what sheâd do in his shoes, concerning the House of Bones. Would it be a viable option to have the Order move to?
25th Privilege and Prejudice â Caradoc and Edgar are talking about the House of Bones as well, when Maurice interrupts them, demanding Muggleborns to be more involved in the Order. Edgar loves the idea and they make plans on how to recruit more Muggleborns -- via Mauriceâs radio show as well as the Dissendium Task Force.
27th A Word of Warning â Self Para. The Order cannot attend Jamesâ funeral without attracting suspicion, so they hold their own memorial. Something that has been done many times before and yet never gets easier. This time, though, Edgarâs mind is preoccupied by the reason for Jamesâ death, that is, Ainsley. Just like Fabian was made ill by the war, he believes that Ainsley was as well. And more: that perhaps almost everyone in this room is ill, and that everyone could be a potential Ainsley, and they must therefore take particular care of each other if they want the Order (and its members) to survive in the future. -
28th Testing Waters â  Edgar talks to Marlene about how she feels about the werewolves finding a proper place to stay, as well as about recruiting Muggleborns from the Dissendium Task Force.

Amazonian Physiology: The Amazons are a race of warrior women that have received gifts and blessings from five Olympian goddesses: Artemis, Athena, Demeter, Hestia and Aphrodite. Hippolyta possesses the same potential powers as an average Amazon. These include:
Enhanced Intellect: A gift from Athena, the Amazons have the wisdom to be guided by peace and justice.
Superhuman Strength
Superhuman Durability
Superhuman Stamina
Superhuman Agility
Immortality: The Amazons were gifted immortality. The people of Themyscira lived forever, though could be killed in war or in an accident. Those who followed Antiope and Phthia and became the Bana-Mighdall lost their immortality.
Self-Sustenance: So long as Hippolyta stays on Themyscira, she does not require food, water or any other form of nourishment to maintain her health and vitality. Although they are not susceptible to the throes of hunger, this does not mean that Amazons don't consume food for enjoyment. The Amazons frequently hold great festivals whereupon food is served.

Equipment
Invisible Plane:Â As Wonder Woman, Hippolyta had access to the Invisible Jet. She has since given the disk to her daughter.
Amazonian Weapons
Origins
Hippolyta's history begins tens of thousands of years ago. In ancient times, there was a caveman who--embittered over being maimed by a tiger and driven from his tribe--encountered a woman in a cave and brutally murdered her after she offered him some compassion: the first woman murdered by a man's hatred.
Thousands of years later, the Greek pantheon held a meeting around 1,300 B.C., convened by the goddesses. They desired to create a race of humans that would champion their ideals. Zeus, in his arrogance, decreed that mankind would never forget the gods, and that it did not matter if there were champions or not. Ares, being the god of war, did not desire anyone promoting peace. The other male gods did not seem interested, and Hera did not wish to go against her husband. Therefore, it fell to the other five primary Greek goddesses. Traveling into the Underworld, the goddess came to the Well of Souls, the place where the souls of all the women murdered by mans hatred were gathered. They drew forth these souls, dropping them like great tears into a lake in Greece--all save one, a very special soul. The souls mixed with the clay and stone of the lake bed to form the Amazons, women reborn. The first to emerge from the waters was Hippolyta--the second would be her sister, Antiope. The goddesses made themselves known to the Amazons, appointing Hippolyta and Antiope to be the two queens of them. They decreed that the Amazons were to spread the message of Gaea: a message of peace, tolerance, and equality. As a symbol of their devotion, Hippolyta and Antiope were each given a Golden Girdle.
Hippolyta and Antiope lead the Amazons for years, creating a great city called Themyscira. It's unclear if the Amazons aged at first, or how much time elapsed, but it seems from the evidence that perhaps twenty years go by, as Antiope has a daughter, Pythia. Their efforts to spread peace and equality were frustrated, however, as few men trusted them. As the years went by, more and more they remained isolated in their city. Their numbers increased by freeing women from slavery.
Doom would come to the city in the form of Heracles, the Son of Zeus. In the midst of his Twelve Labors, still suffering from Hera's madness upon him, Heracles and his friend Theseus came to the Amazons. One of Heracles's Labors was to retrieve the Girdle of Hippolyta. Arriving at the Amazon city with an army behind them, Heracles demanded Hippolyta surrender the Girdle. Hippolyta refused, marching out of the city and offering to fight Heracles for it. Heracles was defeated by the Amazon Queen, and the humbled demi-god offered peace and to unite with the Amazons in an alliance. The Amazons let Heracles and his men into the city, and a night of revelry ensued. Antiope fell helplessly in love with Theseus, and Hippolyta fell for Heracles pretty hard--too hard. In his madness, Heracles drugged Hippolyta, raping and assaulting her in her slumber. And when she awoke she was in chains. Heracles' army bound, beat, and raped the Amazons, tearing down their city and stealing their treasures. Heracles left the city with Hippolyta's girdle and some of his men, leaving the majority behind to guard the Amazons. Theseus was gone as well, although it's not clear if he participated in the raping and pillaging or if he left beforehand.
After a vision of one of the goddesses let her find her strength, Hippolyta broke out of her cell and set to work freeing her sisters. More and more Amazons were freed, and a running battle began all over the city. Hippolyta watched as many of her sisters succumbed to bloodlust, enjoying the bloody slaughter of the men. They fought until all the men lie dead. Afterwards, Antiope was still enraged--she insisted that they march on Athens itself, killing all in their path until they reached Athens where they could take back the Girdle from Heracles' dead hand.
But Hippolyta said no--she said that such a path of bloody revenge was not the Amazon way, and that to go down that way would lead only to destruction. Antiope could not be strayed--feeling betrayed by not only her lover but by her gods, she cast her Girdle at Hippolyta's feet, declaring that henceforth she asked nothing of Olympus. Half the Amazons left with her--the other half stayed with Hippolyta. It was the last time the sisters would ever see each other.
In the midst of the ruins, the goddesses now appeared again. They were displeased with the Amazons, declaring that they had failed in their sacred mission--now the very name "Amazon" would be associated with death and destruction, not peace and equality. The Amazons must have a penance. They were each given a pair of steel "bracelets" to wear at all times, forever a reminder of their capture and humiliation. Then their bodies and souls were purified, and they began their journey. Poseidon himself parted the sea, and the Amazons walked along the bottom until they came to an island that the gods had removed from the circles of the world--Paradise Island. There they built the new city-state of Themyscira, and were to be the guardians of a great evil that lay beneath the Island. As long as they remained on the island, they would be immortal--though they could be killed, and some were over the many long years and the many battles they had to fight against the evil that would try to escape. For over 3,000 years, here they remained, with Hippolyta their queen all that time.
From time to time, there would be a visitor who breached the mists that shielded the island. One of these would be Diana Trevor, a woman who crash landed her small plane on the shores of the island some time after World War II. Diana Tevor arrived while the Amazons were in the midst of a battle with the evil from the Pits beneath the island, and she valiantly fought at their side. She fired the crucial shot from her firearm that won the battle, although she lost her life in the process.
Not long after Diana Trevor came to the island, Hippolyta began to feel a deep yearning she could not explain. The Oracle of the Island had the answer--Hippolyta was the reincarnation of the first woman who had been murdered, and that woman was pregnant with a daughter. The longing Hippolyta felt was for her unborn child. The Oracle told her that the goddesses would grant her longing. Hippolyta went to the beach, and molded a baby from the sand and clay of the island. Then five goddesses and one god went back into the Underworld, drawing out the last soul that remained in the Well and giving it incredible powers. The soul was merged with the clay and became flesh. Hippolyta had her daughter, and named her in honor of Diana Trevor--Diana, Princess of the Amazons.
Diana grew up with one mother and thousands of sisters--but no children her own age. When she was young, the sorceress Magala used her magic to create a magical copy of Diana to be her playmate. Unfortunately, one of Hippolyta's enemies, Dark Angel, came to the island planning to kidnap Diana. She found the copy instead, and thinking that was Diana, she kidnapped her instead. That child was Donna Troy. After Donna's disappearance, Hippolyta became more protective of her daughter, often coming to check on her at random, even after Diana had fully grown up.
After Diana turned twenty-two, the Oracle of the Island came to Hippolyta with a new message. The gods demanded that the Amazons send a champion to what the Amazons' called "Man's World". Hippolyta called for a contest to determine who would go, but she forbid Diana from competing. Diana did it anyway, and no one knew until the Contest was over, as all the contestants were required to wear masks during the tests. Hippolyta could not deny Diana's place, and so after passing one final test, Diana was given a costume.
The NEW Golden Age Wonder Woman
The Crisis on Infinite Earths leaves many problems for the resulting survivors of the singular earth. Even the Amazons are not protected as Donna Troy, Wonder Woman's younger sister, has been erased from history but still exists in the reformatted new Earth. Wally West and Wonder Woman confront the woman who they know but no one else does and begin a quest to restore the Donna Troy they knew. Confronting Hippolyta on the events of Donna, Hippolyta reveals Donna's true origin as a mystically created twin playmate for Princess Diana. The alternate warped version of Troy known as Dark Angel abducted Donna thinking her to be the original Diana and cursed her to live multiple tragic lives, one of which was as Donna Troy.
Hippolyta, along with Jay Garrick, travels back into the past to stabilize the current reality of Troy as Wonder Girl and correct some of the problems of the time stream caused by Dark Angel's presence in the past. It was during this time that Hippolyta becomes the Golden Age Wonder Woman native to the new reality and joins the Justice Society of America during the team's original days. Hippolyta, as the "new" Golden Age Wonder Woman, along with the Justice Society, defeats Dark Angel. Hippolyta remains there until approximately 1950 when she returns to the present with the help of a Jay Garrick from the future.
Dethronement and Death
Upon Hippolyta's return to the present time, she had found her time away from the Amazon and her royal duties had allowed a break to happen between the Amazon groups. While many outsiders had thought of the Amazons as one singular group of women, the truth of the Amazonian society did have individual groups. One of those groups, the Bana Mighdall Amazons, felt that Hippolyta had given up her right to rule by willingly abandon her throne to fight in Man's world, even though she was originally forced into the role by the Olympian gods. Even her direct Themyscira Amazons couldn't justify her continuing neglect of her royal duties as the Queen of the Amazons for the length of time that Hippolyta had remained away from the Amazons and began to turn away from her. Seeing that she was losing support and her own desire for battle increasing, Hippolyta relinquished her throne and went back into the outside to fight alongside her daughter as a second Wonder Woman, after suggesting that Diana and her saved sister, Donna Troy, rule over the Amazons. Hippolyta's two daughters refused to rule and the various factions were not able to choose and successor satisfactory to all the groups. Ultimately the Amazons decided to abolish the Amazon monarchy system for individual self-rule.
Finding her place as an active warrior and part-time member of the reformed Justice Society, Hippolyta carried on as the "other" Wonder Woman until the "Worlds at War" happened. During one of the cosmic invader Imperiex's attempts to destroy Earth, the Amazons became involved in the planet's defense. Hippolyta fought against an Imperiex probe and was barely able to stop it by herself. When Diana arrived at the battle scene she rescued her mother and ordered the weaker Wonder Woman to leave. But Hippolyta remained defiant despite her weaker power and safeguarded her daughter by throwing Diana out of the way when the Imperiex probe threaten to destroy Diana and all around them. The probe exploded killing only Hippolyta.
One Year Later revival
Hippolyta is brought back to life by the immortal witch Circe who shows the revived Hippolyta that the USA has kidnapped her daughter Diana and was being tortured until she gave over the plans on how the U.S. government could create their own Purple Ray to be used as a weapon. Enraged by Circe's vision and accepting them as real, Hippolyta declared control over all of the Amazons to rescue Diana and attain vengeance on the outside world she had once cherished. Confronting her daughter who had gone underground, Hippolyta decided to continue the battle regardless and slaughtered many males, even unarmed boys. Finding her actions completely out of character for the former Wonder Woman, Diana and Donna Troy discovered that Circe had revived Hippolyta as an extension of herself by placing a portion of her own soul into Hippolyta.
As Hippolyta's persona was modified to now be a composite of her former self and that of Circe, the revived Hippolyta was far more destructive than ever before even to the point that she defended Circe against her daughters. It is not until Circe was rendered impotent temporarily, and the magical influence over Hippolyta's mind is removed does Hippolyta regain her more calm center and end the Amazonian war. Athena makes herself known to Hippolyta and the Amazons and decides to punish them all for their part in the war by removing all the Amazons' powers and memories and scattering them across the Earth to live out their shortened lives as human women.
Hippolyta also stripped of her powers but restored to immortality for an unending punishment is forced to rule over an empty Paradise Island except for four bound Amazons who unless all forgive her will never be able to reclaim their memory and powers. Currently, Hippolyta spends her days seeking their redemption in the hopes of rebuilding Paradise Island and returning the Amazons to their previous status. It has been revealed that the current Athena is in reality Granny Goodness who has succeeded the original Athena after the fall of the New Gods.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Vol. 12
By Fujino Omori and Suzuhito Yasuda. Released in Japan as âDungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatte Iru Darou ka?â by Softbank Creative. Released in North America by Yen On. Translated by Winifred Bird.
It stands to reason that over the course of a well-written series, youâd expect the characters to grow and change. That said, itâs rare we get such a direct look as we do here. This entire volume of DanMachi is about Bell and his familiaâs growth over the course of the last eleven books, and it underlines several times how theyâve matured and are growing up, even if they may not be aware of it themselves. Sometimes the growth is mental, sometimes physical, and sometimes both, but these are not the same people that we met in the first book. It helps that this book is also a pure dungeon crawl, the first in a very long time, and that they face off against a very clever Irregular monster â not one of the Xenos that weâve gotten to know in the last few books (and we meet another one here), just a monster who was smarter than his brethren, and then started to eat their cores, and now is smart *and* evil.
Bell and Lilly are on the cover, and itâs appropriate that this growth metaphor focuses the most on them. Bellâs has been easier to see in terms of battle prowess, but now we see how heâs matured as a person as well. His âmind has caught up with his bodyâ, as Mikoto puts it, and this has made him a more capable adventurer. That said, heâs still Bell, much to Lillyâs relief, as she worried he was getting too far ahead of everyone else. As for Lilly, sheâs learning more how to be a leader, being trained by Daphne here and also imagining a Finn in her head that she strives to be like. (The real Finn does not always match the Finn in Lillyâs head, and I wonder if she knows that his last-minute plan is basically âmake myself lose control and go nutsâ?) Sheâs also dealing with abandonment issues, both not wanting to be forsaken by the man she loves and also when sheâs told to abandon the injured in her party and escape and seriously considers it. Her maturity is in realizing thatâs the most sensible plan⊠but not doing it.
We meet another Xenos here, a mermaid who seems nice and sweet and has already fallen for Bell, and I suspect weâll see her again in the future. (I am grateful to the author forgetting her farewell confession to Bell out of the way BEFORE Lilly and the rest arrive â itâs a heartwarming scene that did not need a jealous harem added to it.) We also see that Hestiaâs group is now a D group, meaning they have to accept missions from the main office. This first mission was âconquer a new floorâ, basically, and itâs implied they failed as they got derailed by this nightmare of a monster, though Iâd argue the fact that they took it out should work in their favor. That said, it looks like the next volume may be a murder mystery more than a dungeon crawl, judging by that cliffhanger.
Iâm in danger of sounding like a broken record, but DanMachi is simply very well written, and benefits well from being confined to a single volume for once. Any fan of fantasy light novels should have it at the front of their queue.
