Hope you don't mind me responding this way, but yes!!! I loved your interpretation of the paladin/Gale combo. I love to imagine him with someone really physically strong, like a paladin, ranger, or fighter. He needs someone to support him in these trying times, and it doesn't hurt that battle turns him on.

Thank you for letting me spit up on your post! I really...can't stop writing about how perfect this man would be with a himbo. Thank you for GETTING IT!!! He needs someone who brings something to the table that he can't do himself (and looks REALLY good doing it). I can see him really digging a Monk as well.

Basically I keep seeing the Gale romance discourse surround how he would love to read with Tav all day and he loves books but he would also be perfectly content with retelling the stories out loud to Tav (a thing that he can focus on that doesn't make the Orb detonate around Tav would be a welcome reprieve). Gale helps them read, Tav helps him improve his combat skills (and WHAT a god damned convenient excuse to TOUCH his crush and feel the thrill of battle without the danger of dying).

Gale also has chronic pain and was isolated for a long ass time without touching anyone. His relationship with Mystra was mostly astral projecting, and I doubt he was getting much physical contact with anyone else while that was all happening. The Paladin's whole healing method being through physical touch would be SOOOO overwhelming at first. He'd try to heal something himself just to not have his crush's hands on him and reveal that he is going to explode whenever they put their hands on him, but in the end that helps him remember that being involved with someone in the physical world is leagues better than what he thought was a perfect relationship.

All of this to say: Gale needs a really good hug so bad that I'm going to have to draw him getting a hug a million times.
