Biography/Headcanons
Being third in line for the throne usually means there’s a little leeway when it comes to the training that royals must go through to be prepared to run a country. Spares, especially ones so far down the line, don’t usually have to worry about running a country one day which is why Luka’s parents were relaxed when it came to his teachings. But at a very young age the German prince showed more interest in the way the world worked than most of his siblings. By the time he was five years old he insisted on the same training as the crown sibling of his country, claiming that he wanted to help the world as much as he possibly could.
In reality, Luka wanted the power. He could care less about the people of his country or the people of the world and he had known that since he was very young. But figuring out how to convince his parents to let him take on such responsibilities at such a young age meant he had to learn how to lie and be believable when he did so. It didn’t take long for him to figure out that charming people into what he wanted was way more effective than the other means available and ever since he’s used that charm to latch onto whatever power he could attain.
The only time Luka has ever shown an ounce of feeling that was genuine was when his brother, Tristan, died. He grieved with the rest of his family, took some time to be out of the spotlight, and made no complaints for once when his parents insisted on family meals. Even with his goals and the way he treats his siblings sometimes the boy truly does care about them all. He wouldn't hesitate to throw them under the bus if it meant propelling his own career but he's always known that if anyone ever messed with them he would do what he could to take that person down. Unfortunately, accidents leave no one to blame so Luka could not avenge the brother he'd lost.
He’s always tried to tell his parents that he wanted to be betrothed to a crown princess. Well aware of the way their lives worked when it came to who they would marry, and not really caring who he ended up with in the long run since he wasn’t much for monogamy anyway, it was the only request he had ever insisted on. Somehow, he still ended up being pawned off to another spare instead, something that had infuriated Luka when he’d found out about his betrothal to Alys Tudor of Wales. A lifetime of preparing for his take over of the throne went down the drain in a matter of months. Sure, Alys was pretty so she had that going for her, but she had nothing more than he did when it came to control and reign. He would be stuck forever as a useless prince unless he acted.
He’d tried the more conventional methods at first. Anything he could think of to sneakily break the betrothal was thrown towards his parents, but he was careful not to damage his reputation as the likable and caring prince of Germany. He’d worked too hard to see everything go down the drain because of a pest he couldn’t get rid of. So, when nothing else had worked, Luka started to plot. Murder hadn’t been part of his original plan but if it was what he had to do to ensure his future as a king then he had no trouble doing so. Making sure he had befriended Alys’ brother, Alwyn, Luka set his plan into place once he was invited to see the streets of Italy with the family. Separation from the girls was key, something he had advocated for while stating it was for the girls benefit, and by the end of the day the only problem the German had was in the form of a pesky liaison officer who would not go away. Who was he, though? It wasn’t as if this man could go against Luka with all of the power he already held so the murder took place with no hiccups in Luka’s mind.
The future king of Wales has been on cloud nine since that day. He’s felt no remorse for what he’s done to his future family and he’s sure that he never will. He got what he wanted once again and if he can keep up his façade of the charming prince of Germany, he’s sure that nothing could stand in his way. Once he takes over the throne, that’s when the world will see who he truly is. The only people who’s really seen the true side of Luka are Alys, the meek little princess he’s being forced to marry, and an Italian soldier that’s been easily scared into keeping his mouth shut so he’s feeling unstoppable at this point.

Adult patients with newly diagnosed AML at 63 centers in Germany and Austria were followed within the AMLSG BiO registry (NCT01252485). Between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2014, data of 3525 patients with AML (45% women) were collected. The median age was 65 years (range 18-94). The comparison of age-specific AML incidence rates with epidemiological cancer registries revealed excellent coverage in patients http://dlvr.it/PyqpTG

Overview : “Verdict: Extremely relatable to the lay reader while still accessing an incredible amount of peer-reviewed scholarship, Hertenstein's work is perhaps the most comprehensive explanation of the correlation of nonverbal communication to genetics and behavior available today. Despite its nonacademic tone, this book has much to teach any reader.” —Library Journal Review (Starred Review) “An entertaining look at our oft-maligned intuitive capabilities, offering useful tips on how we may sharpen our powers of observation and increase the accuracy of our predictions.” —Kirkus Reviews “Fascinating … The Tell succeeds as an engaging tour through current work in the science of behavior by a young psychologist who has the makings of a leading contributor to his field.” —Shelf Awareness “’The Tell’ is highly recommended.” —Style Magazine “Entertaining…in the Malcolm Gladwell-ian tradition.” —Greater Good: The Science of a Meaningful Life “Those curious to learn about the powers of observation and the unconscious mind should definitely put this book on their to-read list.” —Quick Book Reviews “Lively and engaging…. Hertenstein offers much material to ponder and suggests that we embrace the power of these tools for helping us predict behavior.” —Publishers Weekly Every day we make predictions based on limited information, in business and at home. Will this company’s stock performance continue? Will the job candidate I just interviewed be a good employee? What kind of adult will my child grow up to be? We tend to dismiss our predictive minds as prone to bias and mistakes, but in The Tell, psychologist Matthew Hertenstein reveals that our intuition is surprisingly good at using small clues to make big predictions, and shows how we can make better decisions by homing in on the right details. Just as expert poker players use their opponents’ tells to see through their bluffs, Hertenstein shows that we can likewise train ourselves to read physical cues to significantly increase our predictive acumen. By looking for certain clues, we can accurately call everything from election results to the likelihood of marital success, IQ scores to sexual orientation—even from flimsy evidence, such as an old yearbook photo or a silent one-minute video. Moreover, by understanding how people read our body language, we can adjust our own behavior so as to ace our next job interview or tip the dating scales in our favor. Drawing on rigorous research in psychology and brain science, Hertenstein shows us how to hone our powers of observation to increase our predictive capacities. A charming testament to the power of the human mind, The Tell will, to paraphrase Sherlock Holmes, show us how to notice what we see. . Top Books. Top Authors. Any Device. Sarika Kamilla Vari || 31 || Ex-Crown Princess of Hungary
Name Pronunciation: Suh-Ree-Kuh Family: Magdalena Vari (Younger Sister), Izsak Vari (Younger Brother), Callister Galatas (Cousin), Cassandra Galatas (Cousin), Angelo “Cas” Galatas (Cousin), Eden Galatas (Cousin), Tristan Galatas (Cousin) Hometown: Budapest Birthday: October 28th Age: 29 Sexuality: Bisexual Preferred Pronouns: She/Her Aliases, if any: Sari Nationality: Hungarian Religion, if applicable: Raised Catholic but she was never that religious. She just went to mass on special occasions to appease the people of her country. Parents’ names: Father - Solomon Vari, Mother - Leda Vari Current relationship status: Betrothed to Piotr Wojciech. Seeing Samson Morales. Previous relationships: She was betrothed to the now deceased second in line to the German Royal family, Tristan Hertenstein.
Under the cut, there are mentions of death and alcoholism.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Height: 5’2 Hair colour: Brown Eye colour: Brown Glasses/contacts: She needs reading glasses but sometimes refuses to wear them. Tattoos: None Piercings: Both ears are pierced. Typical clothing style: These days Sarika usually dresses in designer casual clothes. Nothing can beat a pair of jeans, a nice sweater, and her converse tennis shoes. But in formal occasions she’s all glam. Dressed to the nines in the hottest designers of the time, she’s a knockout at all the galas. Distinguishing features (scars, birthmarks, freckles, etc): She has a birthmark on her left hip and she’s often been told by her mother that it looks like Buda castle. It became a long-running joke that the mark was because she was ‘marked’ to be a great ruler for their country. Sarika also has a large scar on her wrist where she broke it and had to have surgery to let it heal properly. Dominant hand: Ambidextrous
HEALTH
Health issues or illnesses, if any: She had asthma as a child and had to carry an inhaler everywhere she went but luckily her symptoms gradually disappeared as she grew older. She still keeps an inhaler in her room just in case but she hasn’t had to use it since she was a teenager. Allergies, if any: None. Exercise habits: She’s not huge into exercise or sports at all. If you do find her exercising it’s while doing some sort of dancing exercise like Zumba or dance classes on youtube. Dietary habits: She mostly eats whatever is put in front of her. She hasn’t met something she hasn’t liked before except raisins. Yes, raisins. When she’s feeling snacky she does usually go for a healthier alternative like almonds or dried fruit, only indulging now and then with something sweet.
PERSONALITY
Accent: She’s been training in different languages since she was five years old which included diction classes. Her accent is almost non-existent unless she’s angry or drunk and then it slips out. Speech style: She’s definitely not as formal as she used to be but her training still kicks in most of the time. She speaks with a mix of formality and casualness but the casual is mostly when she’s around people she knows. Most used word or phrase: “I’m okay.” and these days “You’re no fun.” Do they curse?: Occasionally a curse will slip through but again, she’s been trained her whole life not to so it isn’t much of a habit. Any secrets? Most of her secrets have come to light, especially after her abdication when reporters started to really dig into her life and then again when Izsak’s leaked videos/audios came out. News of Tristan’s death really hit Hungary after that along with how close Sarika had been to him but she hasn’t really let anyone know how much his death has messed her up. Now with Birdie’s death added to the mix she’s really not okay but she’s trying to make the world think she has it all under control. She does not. Not really. Also, the fact that she might be falling for a member of the staff. Top priority/ies: Right now her priorities are to live. With so much death surrounding her lately she’s really seeing the importance of having those life experiences that she never got to have with all the sacrifices she made throughout her life. Unfortunately, it’s hard to have those experiences when you’re forced into hiding. Most treasured possession: She has a handmade doll that belonged to Birdie. It was made by her mother and Sarika’s best friend had cherished it. Her mother gave it to Sarika at Birdie’s funeral and she keeps it in her room at all times. Addictions, if any: None. Though she’s on the long road to becoming an alcoholic. Phobias: All of her worst fears have come true. But she’s still afraid of losing more people. Compulsions/ habits: Whenever she has a glass in her hands she likes to run her fingers around the rim whenever she’s thinking of what she wants to say. Zodiac Sign: Scorpio

Biography/Headcanons
From the moment Sarika was born she was in training to be the perfectly poised crown Princess of Hungary. Her parents did everything in their power to make sure that their daughter was well educated, well behaved, and contained the knowledge she would need to one day rule with grace and humility. The only problem the family seemed to encounter was the rebellious nature the little girl possessed. All her life Sarika tried to play the part she had been given, tried, and failed miserably on most occasions as it seemed her destiny was steering the girl in another direction. Still, she spent most of her life as someone she wasn’t, always feeling like a puppet there for everyone else to use and bend to their will.
She was well groomed but all the hard work her tutors and parents put into making her who she was supposed to be eventually turned out to be wasted. Inspired by the kidnappings of fellow royals, and other factors from years before, Sarika decided life was too short to allow her own life to be dictated by other people and she was no longer allowing herself to be a puppet for the royal family of Hungary. Two months after the kidnapping the princess abdicated, stepping down from the throne and allowing her younger sister to take over in her pursuit to become the leader that their country wanted, feeling that it would be better for everyone in the long run.
One major factor that played into this decision was the loss of her betrothed just a few years before the kidnappings. Tristan hadn't started out as the love of her life but over the years she had slowly grown to care very much for the Prince. His death had been sudden and Sarika feels that the car accident had been the start of her descent. She's taken care to try and avoid his siblings throughout the past couple of years but as she goes through the challenges of dealing with the backlash of her abdication she's been aching to reach out to the comforts of something familiar in hopes that they wouldn't be too upset with her decisions of the past. The heartbreak isn't something she's fully dealt with and the girl has tried her best to keep everything about the situation as quiet as possible.
She'd never admit it but Sarika had always thought her little sister would be better suited for the throne. Where the older Hungarian was flighty and hated making decisions that could affect her whole country, her little sister seemed to rather enjoy when Sarika would come to her on rare occasions to seek advice. This was one of the main reasons that Sarika felt comfortable stepping away from her duties. She knew that with her sister in charge the country of Hungary would be in much better hands than if she were ruling considering her decision making just got worse as heartbreak bled through in every part of the process. She likes to use this as her main reasoning for stepping down, trying to convince people that her younger sister was clearly the right choice for the future of Hungary and choosing not to speak to people about other factors that went into the decision. It was one of the reasons, yes, but the decision not to rule was also a selfish one encouraged by fear and desperation to be her own person while she still could.
She was at the castle in Russia when her best friend, Birdie, died from an overdose while on vacation. Devastated, the Hungarian was permitted to fly back home and attend the funeral in Sweden with her family by her side as a show of respect. Sarika had convinced her parents to let her stay at home as long as possible but the two of them agreed she eventually needed to return where she could relate with others who felt the same pain all while keeping her safe. But what they couldn’t understand was nobody could possibly feel what Sarika did. Refusing to grieve for her lost fiancé throughout the past couple of years and then losing someone else she thought she would spend her whole life loving has really taken its toll on the girl. Before she wanted experiences she hadn’t yet to get a chance to go through, to let loose and have fun while she could, but now it seems Sarika might be heading into a spiral. She just doesn’t care anymore and is willing to throw herself into situations she knows aren't proper or altogether safe.
The only reason Sarika wasn’t disowned after giving up the throne was the promises she made to her parents if they allowed her to step down. The first being that she was to go to the castle in Russia to keep away from not only the rebels but also to stay away from the hate and gossip being spread by the tabloids at home. The other, to be married off to a prince from another country when the time came in hopes to forge an ally by doing so. And the only reason she made that promise was because the girl figured there was a very low chance that any royal would allow her to be married to their child after being so disloyal to her own country. Sarika doubts her parents are hopeful of a union as well but she appreciates that they made whatever compromise they could to help make her happier and still part of the family. In her eyes it’s the only thing that the two have ever done because they love HER and not because they love their country.
No longer imprisoned by her fate, the girl isn’t as charming as she was once considered, speaking freely about anything and everything that comes to mind. She’s learned not to stay silent when something is bothering her whereas before she would have been more conscious of her words. As a result, any gossip or venomous opinions are now met with her own icy glare and choice words, and if it seems like she doesn’t care about what you think of her, it’s because she truly doesn’t. The girl won’t be mean just to be mean as she truly has no desire to cause harm but she’s also no longer afraid to stand up for herself. Before she was meek, well mannered, and as kind as she could be to anyone and everyone whereas now, she’s only kind if you return the favor. Once anything negative is said to her a defense mechanism comes into play, walls building, and she has a hard time caring if that wall is ever torn down again.
Even though most people think that she’s disloyal and dishonorable, if she cares for you Sarika is one of the most loyal people you could know. There’s a difference between being there for hundreds of thousands of strangers and being there for someone you love. Once you gain her trust there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for you. With this kind of affection comes that blunt honesty though. If she has an opinion that she feels you should listen to nothing will stop her from expressing it even if it’s something most would consider too impolite. This gets her in trouble with some of her close friends but usually she finds a way to make it up to them…or it turns out she was right in the end.
She has a bachelor's degree of arts in cello with a minor in international relations, earned while attending one of the finest universities in Hungary. Not only did she complete her programs for these two subjects, but she also continued her trend of learning local languages spoken in different parts of her country. Her education was very important to her family and she considers herself lucky that she was able to make her focus something she really loved. Recognizing the passion she held for it, her parents agreed to continue letting her study cello while in school as long as she minored in something they had chosen for her. The cello had always been the one thing that could get Sarika to sit still when she was a child. She loved everything about the instrument and she continues to cherish the music to this day. Whenever she’s having a bad day or she feels she needs to calm herself down the instrument is her go to choice of relaxation.
