Aviators as heroes: more than two million people lined up to cheer Captain Hermann Koehl (waving with hat), Major James C. Fitzmaurice (waving), and Baron Ehrenfried Guenther Von Huenefeld (seated behind right) during their ticker tape parade, May 17, 1928. They had flown from Dublin to Newfoundland in their plane, the Bremen 2504, in 36.5 hours.
