Henry waves goodbye to the last couple from the tourist group Versi had been taking care of. He’s a busy man, but he loves helping Versi whenever his friend needs it. Travelling across New Orleans from one attraction to another can take some times; so the blood witch is always happy to open gates for Versi and his customers on their tour. On top of that, he takes a fuck lot of fun playing pranks on both customers and his friend.
Though today, he stuck with a regular prank that Versi is aware of; playing an instrument while using his blood magic to make rats following him around. Always works like a charm on children and humans who don’t know any different. So he’d play the harmonica for a couple minutes to entertain people.
With people gone, he turns on his heels to smile brightly at Versi as fingers with stained fingertips put the harmonica back into the pocket of his tan leather jacket. “They better have tipped you well.” He says, before putting an arm around his friend’s shoulders. “Got any plans for the rest of the night?” Henry can make friends quickly, but he’s more of a loner by default, so he can get a bit picky; especially since the attack. Attack that he’d hidden from Versi not to worry him. Versi is one of those people that at first you refuse to believe that someone can still be that pure of heart at that age, but nope; that’s truly how his friend is. And as much as he fucking loves to secretly prank his friend, Henry will do his best to keep that heart pure.

Henry laughs. “What can I sayI make a fantastic wingman!” He exclaims, puffing his chest playfully. The Blood witch knows his friend is talented and needs the confidence boost so he’s happy to provide. Doesn’t cost him anything on top of that! “Technically, it’s your company. Let’s make a deal, when it’s bad we share the fuckup and when it’s good, I let you have all the credits as it should be, ‘cause you’re doing all the hard work in here.” Henry is happy to stays in the shadow as much as possible, just cause he likes it that way. Also, Versi is such a puppy; it makes him happy to see him so excited about things. “You’ll be doing the selling and all the hard work again!” He points out, grinning playfully.
“I promise, it’ll get better eventually. Maybe not this year or the next decades, but one day, you’ll love it, I’m sure of it.” He’d met many people in his life lacking control and even hating what they were, but times had helped a lot. For the most part, those people are happy with their powers now. “I don’t want to impose, but if he doesn’t mind, I’m all in.” Henry will go for sure, any reasons to spy on the Light witch’s space. It’s a shame he’d never met him before, but his obsession is making up for lost time. He’s also curious to see both men’s dynamic with other people than himself.
The Blood witch nods, smirking and starts to sing: “In touch with the ground, I'm on the hunt, I'm after you. Smell like I sound, I'm lost in a crowd and I'm hungry like the wolf!” As he does, he puts his hand in his jacket’s pocket taking out bright lavender colored powder and blows it ahead of him. For a second the scenery in front of them seems to get blurry in the shape of a translucent door, but it’s quickly gone. With his arm around his friend’s shoulders he walks through the gate and they appear a corner away from their usual spot. “Always so positive! But yeah, Rus has been of great help and so was my therapist, but she’s been MIA. I hope nothing bad happened to her.” He chuckles as Versi says he’s uninteresting as if Henry wasn’t himself. Well, he knows he can be very interesting, but some stuff are better left unsaid. He doubts Versi would find funny how he kills people through his trapped gates. “Other than the people you know? Not really. I might have kept a lot more to myself since… you know what. But why don’t you tell me about your training?”
Versi smiled widely, cheeks flushing the lightest of pinks. "Aw, Henry. You really know how to raise my spirits right on up, you know that? Thank you." He laughs, "They were pretty cheap jerks, weren't they? Fuck them all!" Then he is smiling even wider because Henry pays him another nice compliment and he can feel his dimples showing. If he had an actual tail, it would be absolutely wagging in delight right now, Versi always loved hearing he was doing good at his job. Especially when it meant bringing in a profit for their business. But he would never be able to take full credit without sharing. "We are a team, right? If I'm doing great, you're doing great. Vice versa! I wouldn't be here without you after all!" His eyes widen, with excitement, hearing Henry's idea and he absolutely thinks it is genius, "Henry, that's perfect! Oh, man! You see? You're the one making us all the big bucks."
He's quiet when they begin talking about the full moon, but he does give Henry an appreciative smile when he teases. "Y-yeah, I guess so!" It did make him feel better that his friend did that because it helped Versi feel like the situation didn't have to be such a downer. The topic of Rus made him perk up instantly, "Hey! Do you wanna come over later and help me figure a design out? I bet Rus wouldn't mind. Maybe we can even ask Rus to join us in trying to figure out what designs could work for our merch? I bet us three could come up with some wicked stuff." And there he went on his happy ramble again, already imagining the three of them laughing over all their silly ideas but ultimately coming up with a really cool one.
"Same spot as usual is perfect. I'm totally getting two of them though...I'm hungry like the wolf," Versi joked, giving a playful grin. It did reassure Versi to hear that Henry was doing a lot better these days, though he didn't doubt Rus's abilities for a second. He was so talented and he knew that his roommate/friend was just the perfect person to help Henry. And what's more, the two seemed to get along just fine. How perfect, Versi thought to himself. "Little by little. Any progress is good progress, and just think, you're ten steps ahead than you were yesterday." He thinks about the question for a second, but ends up shaking his head no. "Besides the usual random tourist? Nah, not really. I think tomorrow I'll go exploring, so maybe I'll have a more interesting answer next time! What about you, Henry? Have you met anyone interesting lately?"

Henry snorts. “That’s bullshit! You know it and I know it! And they also knew you were good. They were just cheap fucks who thinks there presence is a reward for us. Fucking morons!” The blood witch says venomously, because he knows Versi is the best at his job every single time. “You are doing well. I’m just here for the ride!” Henry always sees Versi as a one-man show where he’s just holding the lights from time to time. He wants his friend to take the credits for his accomplishments. “Versi, you have great ideas, you don’t need my approval for it. But if I can suggest something, I’d make the logo and writing phosphorescent and you wear it so people will get excited about it. That’d be quite the selling pitch without doing much!” Henry suggests. Kids would love that shit, especially when they raved about shoes and their fucking annoying lights.
“Comes with howling to mother moon doesn’t it?” He teases a bit; trying to make being a werewolf a bit more fun―or at least lighter―for his friend. “He’s amazing, yeah.” In more ways than that one. Henry knows he wouldn’t be able to do shit around his place if he had a roommate like Rus. He’d probably bump into everything in the house all the time watching the light witch. Though, for now, he can just obsess over him quietly. Very unhealthy habit, but he ain’t about to change it anytime soon!
“Of course!” He exclaims, not in the mood for anything specific tonight. He looks at his friend while Versi is thinking and he’s sure if the werewolf had his ears out right now, they’d be moving adorably. “That’s cool with me. Same place as usual?” They can take a shortcut through one of his many gates. “Controlling our powers is never easy. Don’t be so hard on yourself buddy. I know you didn’t mean it.” Henry can’t help himself and gently pats Versi’s head. “I’m not scared of you, I can defend myself. I’m also not stupid enough to go around frolicking in the woods on a full moon either!” Henry says, chuckling and it’s now his turn to try and reassure his friend. “I’ve been doing a lot better. Thanks to you and Rus. I mean, I could’ve done a ritual, but fuck it takes so long, this is easier, not as fast, but fast enough for me. And you, met anyone interesting lately?”
"Aw, it's okay! Maybe I just wasn't on my game tonight. You know, I was probably boring or something. But don't worry! I am going to practice a bit more and I'll get us a shit ton of fifty dollar bills next time." He always tried to look at the bright side of things, even if sometimes it was extremely difficult. His eyes widen when Henry hands him the envelope full of money, a huge grin spreads on his face, "I mean, damn! I'd say we are doing pretty great! Also, I've been thinking! How do you feel about making black hoodies with glow in the dark lettering on them that has our logo on it? I could try to pitch it at the end of the tours for extra money."
"I'd love to get a bite to eat! You know me, I'm always hungry." Honestly the guy had gotten himself kicked out of a couple of buffets in his life because of his appetite. "Oh, of course! I'm so happy everything has worked out with Rus. He's fantastic, isn't he? Truly one of the best people around, and the best roommate a fella could ask for." Of course, Versi adored Rus. He was kind to him, patient with him, and he helped him during his darkest of times. Had he known of Henry's feelings about Rus, Versi would've started cheering and jumping up and down in excitement. All he ever wanted was for happiness to come to his friends and plants.
"Oooh! I get to pick? Crap. Okay, give me a second." He puckers his lips to the side, browns furrowing, and his minds quickly sorts through various foods until it finally lands on one. "Po-boys! I haven't had one in a while. What do you say?" The mention of the last full moon makes Versi get a little quiet, he always does when he talks about those type of nights. "Oh, I...I accidentally hurt someone. But, um I was reassured they would be okay! So...um..." he cleared his throat, "...I'm doing better, though. I know that might not have seemed reassuring, but I swear I am." He looks at his friend, "How are things with you, my friend?"

Henry had sadly been forced to keep the possession to a minimum until last month because of the attack. Though, he’s still careful not to do it too often so that he doesn’t get discovered. On top of that, he can only do it when he’s not part of the visit, which complicates things a bit more. Though, he’ll keep going even if he’s found out by Versipellis, because it way too fucking fun to stop. His friend had that sparkle in his eyes; like a kid on Christmas day and Henry just loves seeing it. It also added to the whole experience on top of Versi being an amazing storyteller.
“That’s all? Those cheap fucks!” Henry exclaims, remembering the many faces and promises himself to fuck with them all later for being assholes. He pulls out an envelope with a lot more money in it and ends it over to his friend. “Well, lucky you, this is you cut for the sales at the apothecary.” He said with returning Versi’s big grin with one of his own.
“I was about to invite you to grab a bite or something. He hadn’t done it in a while and also wanted to thank you again for the reference. Rus is quite something.” Something, yes―more like someone he’s currently obsessing over and might have followed around one too many times already. Henry can’t help himself. He doesn’t think it’s something he should tell his friend who happens to be the roommate of the guy he’s being unhealthy about. “What do you feel like eating? And tell me about your last full moon; didn’t get a chance to ask yet.”
Henry finds it funny how his friend ended up with someone like Leto Herrera as a mentor; considering his affiliation to the Lotus Eaters, but it’s not like it’s a common knowledge outside of those in the know.
Versipellis also waves to the group that was leaving, smiling brightly. It had been a very successful night, even if no spirits had taken possession of his tourist group this evening. Sometimes he got a surprise spook that would further elevate the experience for his ghost tour groups, sometimes he did not, but Versi always gave each tour his very best. He was a sucker for the paranormal as it was, and he was in love with New Orleans strange history, so it was easy for him to be enthusiastic about it all. He had also always had a weird way of being able to rope people into his stories, too, so truly he was in the right profession.
Ghost possessions or not, everyone was always amused by the parade of rats that followed Henry when he used his blood magic on them. It was always one of his favorites things to witness, both because he thought the trick was neat, and he enjoyed hearing the laughter of others.
Now that they were alone, he turns to look at Henry, Versi's smile grows. "I think so." He pulls out two fives from his pocket, clearing his throat a bit, looking from Henry to the bills in his hand, "I swear I thought these were fifty-dollar bills. Damn. Um." And all he can do is just give a wide grin at the other, casually just putting the money away for now, "I'm sure the rest is just stuck at the bottom of my pants pocket. It's fine." Versi shakes his head at his friend's question, "I was going to read from the Scary Stories book to my plants tonight, you know, get them in the mood for the season. Otherwise, I didn't have plans." He looks at Henry with hopeful eyes, " Would you like to hang out?"
