8. how did you pick your name?

I picked my name during my senior year of college, after speaking with one of my best friends about my gender! At first, I was just gonna go by Dean and then I thought about other names that sounded more ‘country/hick-ish’: Henry, Pete, Blue, Mason, Hunter, etc. They were basic names but I was trying to find ‘the one’ that would fit my last name.

I decided that I really wanted a name that started with J, so I tried out a few like Jason and Jordan. I finally got around to the name, Jackson, and liked how it sounded! My full name is Jackson Dean Rodriguez but I like to go by Jackson Little-Bear as a nod to my best friend who described me as ‘a teddy bear wearing a suit of armor and carrying a sword.’

JUST THREE?! And where do I even begin? Um...

This might get kinda long, so as a precaution -

1. Alright, well, obviously it's not the ONLY thing I like about him, but... he's so PRETTY! Of course, I like his animated series design the most - who DOESN'T like an androgynous-looking pretty boy, amirite? - buuut I'm open to other designs and incarnations, too... people always make him so beautiful!!! Okay, well, minus the theatre version and anyone else who gives him short hair. L + Ratio + You have no taste + 🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉.

2. He's got such a kind heart! Probably too kind, because it's a trait that consistently gets him in trouble. I know what that's like... but him gradually learning to assert himself more over the course of the novels and remaining a compassionate hero without letting people walk all over him is! Gaaaaahh! I love him! I wanna be like that, too!

This part of his personality makes his relationship with the Lord of Shadow special to me, too. They get off to a bad start, since the Lord of Shadow is so distrusting of other people, but Henry is unwavering in his kindness and support of him despite his negative attitude, and...! Aaaaaah, I don't know! I guess it's just nice... to think about being cared for like that.

THAT'S ENOUGH! No more!

3. ...Can I say he's really hot? Is that fine to say here? Sorry. I don't mean design-wise, I've already said that lol. I just mean, like... sometimes he says stuff during battle scenes that makes me have to put the book down because I imagined it a little too well. Or I'l have to pause the show- UGH, especially with the movies. The way his actor delivers some of his lines... that "I don't think so." in the fourth film, HELLO?

When he really gets into being more confident to the point of even talking back to some of the lords, it's... it's really... good character development!

Yup, that's all I think of it!
