Which of the ideas that woke me out of my sleep should I write actually?
Bunker Boys: Terry Berg, Sebastian Ives, and Preston Lindsay all gather during a near-apocalyptic event and discuss their experiences of having heroes for friends.
Sandstorms and Sunsets: Roy Harper, Jade Nguyen, Thomas Blake, Grant Emerson, Lian Harper, and Tommy Blake Jr. go on a blended family vacation to a resort. (no powers AU)
Views From the Mountain: Dick Grayson takes Jai West hiking after Wally said he'd been having problems at school. (It might be a oneshot)
One in the Chamber: AU where Jason dies under completely different circumstances. Bruce reels as a result.
Tangerines: Tim Drake's friends and family all give their accounts of events leading up to Tim's hospitalization.
(I'm gonna make some pinterest boards for these btw also I'm working for fics for the other polls I swear)

Helena Heburn: family tree

I know you've read a lot of personal narratives from people involved in the Ross Antarctic Expedition. Are there any passages you can recall that either made you laugh out loud or yell "No you fool!!" at a long-deceased man?
This is such a fun question, thank you!
Maybe less "No you fool!!" and more "Get some sleep you fool!!" but this passage from Ross's narrative stuck out to me recently:
Soon after 6 A. M., when within half a mile of this chain of bergs, the weather came so thick, with heavy snow, and the wind failing us, Lieutenant Bird, whom I had left in charge of the conduct of the ship, being myself unable to remain on deck any longer from excessive fatigue, very judiciously recommended that we should stand off again until more favourable weather for our purpose should arrive.
Not strictly a narrative, but a while ago I had the opportunity to read some of the letters sent to Joseph Dalton Hooker in the archives of the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, including some notes that people sent back and forth between the ships while they were in the Antarctic. J.E. Davis's notes, in particular, were full of banter, and this passage (dated December 1842) always makes me laugh:
You make some vile unladylike allusions in your note about my writing badly and wanting stops &c together with a base insinuation about a vulgar pipe and taking a draw at it - Because you have been to a Sunday School it is no reason you should upbraid me and bring me into a vile comparison with your truly disgusting-and-ever-to-be-despised self - I own I do not write well and do not disguise my ignorance under the guise of fashion like yourself Oh! the ingratitude of the world after teaching you every accomplishment and trying (against your nature) to make you a gentleman to turn like a snake or a vile "surpint" and bite with pisoned [sic] fangs the breast that nourished and brought you to life Oh! it is too much Gas.
And though I've posted about them before, I have to mention John Robertson's description of Ross and Crozier landing on Franklin Island, and Hooker grousing about how St. Helena is a Napoleonic tourist trap, both of which are comedy gold.

Hi,
I make period drama style gifs. If you use gif packs, please like and reblog them. Most of my projects are already ready, but every day I post no more than 190 gifs. Because that was the reason why my previous account was blocked.
I tried to make gif packs in a format more familiar to you with a link to a separate page. However, unfortunately, I did not succeed because of the large format of high-quality gifs.
I want to explain about color processing. Usually, I improve the contrast, brightness and saturation, but leave the naturalness of the film. I don't make the contours too sharp because I like the aesthetic of it looking like a natural image.

Day 8: Anne of Bohemia and Hungary
Anne of Bohemia and Hungary (also known as Anna Jagellonica)
Born: 23 July 1503 Died: 27 January 1547
Parents: Vladislaus II of Hungary and Anne of Foix-Candale Archduchess Consort of Austria, Queen Consort of Hungary, Bohemia and Croatia Children: Elizabeth, Queen of Poland Maximilian II, Holy Roman Emperor Anna, Duchess of Bavaria Ferdinand II, Archduke of Austria Maria, Duchess of Jülich-Cleves-Berg Archduchess Magdalena Catherine, Queen of Poland Eleanor, Duchess of Mantua Archduchess Margaret Barbara, Duchess of Ferrara Charles II, Archduke of Austria Archduchess Helena Joanna, Grand Duchess of Tuscany
Anna of Bohemia and Hungary was the oldest child and only daughter of Vladislaus II of Hungary and his third wife Anne of Foix-Candale. Her younger brother was the King of Hungary, Croatia and Bohemia. On her father’s side, her grandparents were Casimir IV of Poland and Elisabeth of Austria. On her mother’s side her grandparents were Gaston de Foix, Count of Candale, and Catherine de Foix.
She was born in Buda (actualmente Budapest) Her mother died shortly after her brother’s birth. Their father died on 13 March 1516 and the two siblings were left in the care of the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I. Maximilian arranged for Anne to marry his grandson, Archduke Ferdinand of Austria.
Anne received a humanist education focused on problem-solving skills. There was also an emphasis on self-defense with weapons and other physical skills and hunting. She was instructed in music and dance and came into contact with many humanists visiting the imperial library.
On 26 May 1521 in Linz, Austria, Anne and Ferdinand were married. Ferdinand governed Habsburg hereditary lands on behalf of his older brother Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. It was stipulated that if Anne’s brother died without heirs, Ferdinand would succeed him.
On 29 August 1526, Louis was thrown off his horse at the Battle of Mohács against Suleiman the Magnificent. As he had no legitimate heir the thrones of Hungary and Bohemia were left vacant. Ferdinand quickly claimed them. He was elected king with Anne as his queen on 24 October 1526.
Hungary, on the other hand, was a different matter. Ferdinand was proclaimed king by a small group of nobles, but another group did not want a foreign ruler so they elected John Zápolya as an alternative king. The conflict that resulted lasted until 1570 when the Treaty of Speyer was signed in favor of Anne’s son Maximilian.
In 1531, Ferdinand’s brother Charles V elected him as his successor and was to be proclaimed King of the Romans after his death.
Anne was trusted by her husband, serving as regent in his absence and presiding over matters of great importance. She became renowned for her charity and wisdom.
All 15 of their children were born in Bohemia or Austria.
She died on 27 January 1547, aged 43, in Prague, after the birth of her last daughter.
