getting advertisements for non-alcoholic beers now which feels like a mixed success at best but oh man I would love a nonalcoholic blue moon, actually. I would like a regular blue moon very much but that's not happening and a zero alcohol version would hit the spot so good...
I tried a heineken zero for the first time last year and was pleasantly surprised that it 1. tasted good (shocking bc even when i was drinking hard i thought heineken was piss and would do everything to obtain even slightly more palatable piss) and 2. wasnt triggering. i could have one with my fries and feel like i scratched the itch and not want leave the bar and walk into traffic- or, crucially, order ten more and get really sloppy. Not just my bad impulse control. It was the alcohol in specific!
#had a toooouuugh time at the bar two weeks ago sipping my seltzer while my coworkers got shitfaced#god i wish that were me dot jpeg#still a process still working on it

I’m no expert but assuming the official launch will be soon because they’ll want to have it all rolled out for “dry January” - while I personally have no interest in non-alcoholic beer (only because I rarely drink regular bear), I know so many guys who drink it to make going out easier during dry January or at work events where they want to be “drinking” but don’t actually want to get buzzed.
I know non-alcoholic beer is more of a thing in Europe but in the US it really just seems to be O’Douls, Athletic Brews, and Heineken 0.0 - at least those are the non-alcoholic options I see most often on menus and at bars.
Yeah smart to have before christmas as well, I think with the site up and all it’s definitely next week or certainly before mark & kelly.

please if you’re still doing the prompts. 27. “Your heartbeat is my favorite sound.”
Here you go, my darling anon. Something short and sweet for you. 💖
---
27. "Your heartbeat is my favorite sound."
Max Verstappen has a lot of favorite things in life.
His favorite colors are blue and silver. His favorite type of food is Italian, and he loves everything that has pasta in it. His favorite cheat meal is mac & cheese.
His favorite non-alcoholic drink is Red Bull (yes, really), and his favorite beer is Heineken. His favorite TV show is Designted Survivor, and he prefers white wine over red.
Max's favorite thing to do on his free time that doesn't involve racing of any kind is sitting at home on the couch and watching Netflix, which is exactly what he's doing now.
Well, technically, he's laying on the couch watching Netflix. And he's not actually paying attention to the episode of Squid Game currently playing on the TV. He's distracted, completely focused on the steady thud thud thud sound directly beneath his ear.
"Your heartbeat is my favorite sound," Max says with a pleased sigh.
The body under him shifts slightly, the hand that had been resting on his lower back lifting to card through his hair. Turning his head slightly on the firm chest its resting on, Max looks up into the most beautiful green eyes he's ever seen.
Charles smiles at him. "Yeah?"
"Yeah."
The angle is ridiculously unpleasant and Max is sure Charles' neck must ache like a bitch, but the Monégasque leans down to press a gentle kiss to Max's lips anyway.
"You're my favorite everything," Charles tells him as he lays back, a soft, content expression on his face.
He looks like home, Max thinks to himself. Feels like home, too.
Unable to resist, Max cocks an eyebrow. "Yeah? Should I tell Seb I'm your favorite driver?"
Charles narrows his eyes. "Don't push it, Verstappen."
Max grins and presses a kiss to Charles' clothed chest before laying his head back down.
The steady beat of Charles' heart fills Max with a sense of calm. With warmth. With happiness.
And Max finds himself wondering whether it's about time to reconsider his favorite color. He's kind of starting to develop a fondness for green.

Hi, long anon from the 13th back! The other blog won’t publish this, but you seem to be a logical thinker.
As far as the alcohol goes, Jess does drink around Jamie. As did Ruby as far as live-in girlfriends go. I’ve tried to make that point to the other blog and she goes nuts.
I have zero interest in defending Jess any which way, but calling the woman an alcoholic because she drinks is insane. Yeah, she’s talked about drinking, about previously being a “party girl” and does currently drink. None of which makes her an alcoholic. That just means she enjoys alcoholic drinks. We have zero proof she drinks in excess. Posing for photos with alcohol is not that proof. Do I personally think she should drink in the house you live with a recovering alcoholic? No. Am I Jamie to enforce that opinion? No. He’s a grown man that can make calls on his own.
There have been photos and videos of Jess having alcohol in the house. Here’s where we all need to take a giant step back.
We. Do. Not. Personally. Know. Jamie. Or. His. Limits.
He lived with Ruby and she drank around him. He lives with Jess and she drinks around him. I didn’t really like Ruby either as both she and Jess treated/treat Jamie as their arm candy trophy boyfriend prize, but we also don’t personally know either of them.
Jamie very well could’ve laid out his limits when it comes to Jess drinking and/or having alcohol in the house. Maybe he didn’t. We’re not in their relationship so it doesn’t matter.
Someone sent the other blog “video evidence” of Jamie drinking a non alcoholic Heineken in Sao Paolo and she found a way to make it Jess’s fault/influence. Like a guy having a good time at a sporting event couldn’t have a non alcoholic drink by his own free will. 🙄
I’ll be coming here from now on with my thoughts because you’re not a crazy conspiracy theorist. 😂
Exactly! Being a social drinker is a far cry from being an alcoholic, and I highly HIGHLY doubt that Jamie, as someone in recovery, would allow himself to be with someone in active addiction. Jamie has been sober for almost 9 years now, and is a whole ass 35 year old grown man. He can lay out his own boundaries for himself with his partners and others around him. Sobriety is a very personal journey and it's not up to us to scrutinize him or the people around him about it.
And good lord, the non-alcoholic beverages thing... He was drinking non-alcoholic champagne as far back as a Counterfeit livestream on Instagram during the debut of "Getting Over It", and that was when he was still with Ruby. It's not unheard of for him, or plenty of other sober people. Non-alcoholic beers and wines commonly assist those who are sober/recovering, either to curb cravings or just to blend in with others who are drinking alcohol. Again, it's a PERSONAL THING and different for each sober person.
And sure, feel free to vent here! lol I don't care about people not liking Jess, that's totally valid and your prerogative. I'm just not down with the condescending attitude to other fans and actively spreading falsehoods that also make Jamie look bad in the process. Like you don't need to think up a whole Lifetime original movie plot about it and be rude to people just because you don't like a person...

The Freedom of Expression - Ep 73: Ronaldo sees Coca Cola and removes it
They start this time with a small joke about the theme of the episode. Joe removes a roll of tape from his desk and places it out of view of the camera, attracting the attention of Kaoru. Joe laughs that he thought he should remove it, since filming had already started. A member of staff also removes a piece of tape that was stuck to the desk, causing Joe to exclaim awkwardly, 'Today is tape day'...
Moving on, Kaoru refers back to the previous episode about Hanshin, and admits that since then, he has been a bit disappointed with their performance. The Giants are closing in fast. Joe asks him what went wrong, and Kaoru says he thinks they are just not getting enough hits.
Its almost as if talking about their success last time has jinxed their good luck. Joe suggests that losing could be a stategy of Hanshin's to keep things exciting, as it might get boring if they win every time. Unsurprisingly, Kaoru doesn't agree. They wonder what effect this conversation will have had on Hanshin's luck by the time of the next broadcast, but Kaoru brings everyone back down to earth with a bit of logic, saying that the luck of Hanshin has nothing to do with them.
They move onto the main theme of the episode next, which is that Coca Cola suffered a fall in their share value immediately after Ronaldo moved some Coca Cola bottles out of view at a Euro 2020 press conference. Tasai compares Ronaldo to Kaoru here: Ronaldo removes bottles and Coca Cola's shares drop, Kaoru speaks about Hanshin and Hanshin lose. Kaoru laughs, repeating his assertion that Hanshin losing has nothing to do with him, but also admits that he does still feel a bit of doubt inside him if he thinks about it too much. Joe advises him to worry less about it, but says that in Ronaldo's case, it seems like the two things are really connected.
This story was actually chosen to be featured on the show by Kaoru, so Joe asks him what drew him to it. Kaoru says that he thought Ronaldo's actions were really cool, dismissing the choice of the event organizer and chosing his own preference. Joe says that this type of thing would probably never happen in Japan, due to the desire to maintain harmony, but since Ronaldo doesn't have any personal connection with Coca Cola, and is also a strict athlete he can easily do this.
Kaoru also mentions the case of soccer player Paul Pogba, who was faced with bottles of Heineken at his seat at another Euro 2020 press conference, despite being a Muslim and a non-drinker. Kaoru thinks it was very rude of the organisers to place the bottles there.
Joe mentions that its kind of the opposite in Japan. A certain friend of his cannot drink alcohol, and still actually features in alcohol commercials for work, but Kaoru thinks that choosing to do it for work is different from being publicly confronted with it.
Joe asks Kaoru to imagine he was interviewed at a festival that just happened to be sponsered by the Yomiuri Giants. What would he do if he was was asked to pose for a photo holding the Yomiuri Giants mascot doll, Jabitto? Kaoru says he would be able to do it, but he'd have to make some kind of comment expressing his anti-Giants stance at the same time. Since he loves baseball in general, he doesn't actually HATE the Giants, but still, he wouldn't feel warm about endorsing them. Anyway, people might accusing him of being a sell-out if they saw the clip out of context, he'd have to wear a Hanshin tshirt or something counter it.
Kami joins the conversation and asks Kaoru what he would do if many different brands of drink were placed around the stage for the members during Dir lives. Kaoru says he only ever has water on stage, but if there were many brands placed there all of a sudden, he would wonder what on earth was happening. He adds that the labels are removed from the water bottles used on stage, so that no-one will know which brand is being used.
Kaoru then says he doesn't drink alcohol before or during lives, adding that the rare times he actually did in the past caused him to get a headache on stage. The three of them have a short discussion about the effect alcohol can have on work performance, and Kaoru also adds that in general he doesn't drink alcohol while song writing either, if he does his ability goes out the window.
Speaking of alcohol, this brings Kaoru back to the topic of Hanshin again, when he remembers how he used to have a part time job selling beer at Koshien stadium. He would carry cans on a tray hanging on his front from his neck. He couldn't even drink beer on the job even then, it was too tiring.
Joe makes the suggestion that Kaoru could volunteer to sell beer at Koshien if Hanshin win the season, to which Kaoru is less than impressed.

Class 2: Corona vs. Heineken
I must preface this blog post by saying that I do not drink very often, and I can probably count the number of times I have had Corona and Heineken brand products on one hand. Even though I am not a subject matter expertise on this topic, I still felt the case was quite interesting, and I am excited to explore and analyze the learnings of this case in class on Thursday. After reading this week's case on Corona beer, three main ideas came to mind.
Firstly, I thought it was fascinating to read that even though this case was written years ago, it identified a decline in alcohol consumption. This challenged my assumptions about drinking trends over the past 30 years. It is a common phrase nowadays to discuss how people drink much less than they used to, and in fact, there is a record low level of alcohol use among generation Z. The question remains whether this generation in general has converted to alternative substances or whether society is taking health and wellness more seriously than in generations past. Many scientific studies are showing the negative effects of alcohol consumption, even as little as one standard drink, on recovery and sleep. I am curious to hear an update on the case and how Heineken and Corona are addressing this trend. I know that Heineken has created and promoted a non-alcoholic beer, however from a sales and revenues perspective, I am not confident in the success metrics of this new product. I would also be fascinated to see quantitative evidence of this trend especially throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and the years following.
Second, I learned that the relatively recent misconceptions about the Corona brand are not the first instance where this brand has had to handle unfortunate press. The article mentioned a few cases of false contamination of the product which led to marketing damage control and the rebuilding of trust within the brand. With the Covid-19 pandemic being referred to as 'Corona,' I do recall hearing media stories of the Corona beer products dropping in sales.
Finally, I was shocked when the case mentioned that selling beer is just marketing and not actual skill in making the product itself. The case discussed the relative ease in which beers can be made, so beer companies are in fact selling a brand, feeling, association, and confidence. As mentioned above, I am not an expert on the brand differences between Heineken and Corona, so I will be quite interested to hear from my classmates of the markets and demographics that each brand is attempting to target.

Social pressure holds back sales of non-alcoholic drinks, research finds
Unlock Editor’s Roundup for free Roula Khalaf, editor of the FT, picks her favorite stories in this weekly newsletter. Most consumers say it’s acceptable to drink alcohol-free or low-alcohol when they go out, but some choose alcohol anyway because of social pressure, according to research by Heineken and the University of Oxford. The study, based on an Ipsos poll of 11,842 adults of a range of…

Oof I have to chime in re: the side eye at bill post. It’s like some people aren’t aware that their choice of partner reflects on themselves/their tastes/etc. I actually think she seems fairly normal for the amount she could post about him and have climbed the fame ladder a lot more if she wanted to. Ppl forget she also comes from money and her friends b4 bill already included entertainment type ppl. She appears no messier than anyone her age/when she posted “partying” when she was younger. I also doubt she would get caught with public pics of her drinking while pregnant and be doing it at large events, but not to shock some people, many woman have a drink here and there late in pregnancy as well, they’re just not doing it somewhere they’re going to get photographed. Anyone can google the evidence/current understanding of the risks of this and comparable health risks to the occasional drink during pregnancy vs the other less stigmatized things ppl do day in and day out that effect their health as well.
And the her sisters raising O comments people make, come on. Noone truly knows. But this woman likely spends more time with her kids than their favorite a-list actresses do, bc she’s effectively a stay at home mom. Also, maybe they’ll get it when they’re more grown or just haven’t ever spent much time around young kids, but for example, I’ve got 3 yr old nephews who call me mommy sometimes, purely bc kids are legit insane, their whole brain is basically about play and they do it as a form of endearment as well. I’ve never seen that video ppl refer to but I don’t have to to be able to know it doesn’t directly translate to their mother being absent.
To end my rant lol, if you don’t like how you think he seems around her and the lack of seeing them spotted together, anything else, maybe give equal weight to bills role in that since noone legit knows otherwise. If I give an example of him maybe being a less than ideal partner, I think the vid of them at his Stockholm premiere is cringe on HIS part and I almost feel bad for her. If I’m your partner who just had your baby and you don’t really even look at me or be the one to pull me in for the pic since you knew you were going to be taking one with me, clearly, and can’t even mouth a quick hi or watch me walk away after the pic is taken… oof again. Ya, bill gives no vibes in years that he romantically cares about this woman, from the .01% we can see and the fact that there’s so little of them that gets out there. Yet… it’s 100% clear they’re currently together as a couple at this moment. But I remember that my opinions are all based on assumptions from not knowing these ppl AT ALL and it’s basically pure fiction.
The bottle she was caught drinking once looked like a Heineken bottle although it was never confirmed. People can believe what they want. I know she mentioned drinking non alcoholic drinks but even then I wouldn’t risk it. Find some juice or something. That being said I don’t drink, so non alcoholic or alcoholic beverages are not my thing.
Alida is very close to her sisters so I’m sure they’ve helped raised Oona. Like right now they’re probably helping her while Bill is away so naturally the kids are attached to their aunties. I’ve also had my sibling’s kid call me and my mom mommy so I get what you’re saying. Like you said, she’s basically a stay at home mom, so she’s their primary caretaker.
I mean yeah it is possible that any spark or romance has gone out by now but if they still want to be with each other then they’ll remain together... even if they look unhappy or like strangers in public. 🤷♀️ We’re just observers in the end.
