hc that hector's work in getting the bizzy's out of the drain is what initially inspired king to start helping people/ eventually become godpoke

hc that the first day she arrived in the Grove was the day of hector's ascension and that she got her glasses as a party favor from the rift festival that year (they were themed directly after hector's glasses)

hc that in general she really admired hector/ inspekta and looked up to him and was in part emulating him by becoming the next god, and that gave her a blind spot to the idea that inspekta could ever be jealous of her or harbor ill feelings towards her.

You Ascended Too Quickly, My Dear

A piece based off of this idea I had, where Hector rising to godhood and subsequently losing his sanity is somewhat equivocal to Decompression Illness, a deadly affliction often experienced by divers who rise too quickly while swimming in the ocean. Poor soul got The Bends just because he wanted to get some air (for himself and other drain folk).
