Chemy X Story

Arc: As a boy, Yuma was told by his mother to if in trouble always look to the moon for guidance, and made a form for his hero based on that. Yemperatures in Hoshimoto are reaching record highs, and SKIP receives a call. In a residential area a geyser has formed. As they start scanning Yuma hears a voice, and sees a woman, saying to stay back, no one else notices either. Suddenly the geyser pressure massively increases and they pull back, a large spiked orange cat Kaiju emerges, and immediately starts feeding from a cas container. Yuma becomes Arc and tried to fight, but the Kaiju winds up draining energy from him instead, then promptly falls asleep, Yuma, slipping unconscious, sees the woman again, who by name asks him to leave Homger alone. While trying to cope with the heat, which it now appears the sleeping Kaiju is the source of, SKIP tries to work out what the issue is with the kaiju. You goes out to scan, while only having a limited time for cooling, but manages to detect a second heartbeat and the that thermal energy is building inside the Kaiju and it is liable to explode. Yuma thinking of this and the girl is reminded of the story of Homger, an old legend explaining eruptions, and recalling similar eruptions even in non-volcanic areas, on nights of full moon which tonight is, Ban orders a city wide evacuation. As night falls, the GDF prepare to launch a full offensive on Homger as it awakens. Yuma prepares to act when the woman asks if fighting is all he can do, as she seeks the survival of Homger's child, which receive it's energy when it explodes. Yuma understands, but cannot allow the city to be destroyed. Becoming Arc, he attempts to force Homger somewhere else, with that failing he is stuck, until her remembers his mother's words about the moon, producing another Arc Cube and equipping Lunar Armour. Producing physical after-images to disorient, Arc moves fast to form a wind tunnel around Homger, and comforts the Kaiju as it explodes, the cyclone containing the power of the explosion. The woman comforts the child before both vanish. Afterwards, SKIP vows to leave proper records so future generations will know how to handle Homger when it appears again.

Gorgeous Sports Festival: It's time for the generational relay. The first leg sees Vice, Drive and Amazon compete, and keep tripping over eachother. The 2nd leg is Saber, Blade and V3, everyone winds up fighting instead of racing for a bit. Finally it passes to Zero-One, Kuuga and Ichigou, Zero-One gets an early lead but pulls a muscle, allowing Ichigou to win with a Rider Jump. After helping Zero-One, Vice and Saber have to go back to retrieve the Seiken after leaving it there.

Shin Dogengers: Yabai Kamen is having a freakout after falling out with the alien. Ohga-Man learns how MAKO's story ended, as an alien spaceship appears overhead. At the Tanaka Residence, MAKO remains transformed, and they discuss their new techniques and whose missing. A squad of Karamies rampaging are confronted by Great 2, as he's readying the Great Maximum Cutter he's interrupted by KitaQman, trying to both call him in and mocking him for not having a new technique, right before MAKO knocks everyone out demonstrating hers, Great 2 gets off the call to find the foes have left. Great 2 makes a delivery, on realising Shaberryman is inside he makes an excuse to come in so he can cut the pizza. The lady doesn't recognise Great 2, but in hearing his name goes and finds a Great Series pamphlet, while she finds it Great 2 tries to learn what Shaberryman is doing. The lady admits her son was a Great Series fan, but he isn't there anymore, Great 2 offers another service, a Pizza Party outdoors. While the woman enjoys herself, Great 2 gets more details on the insurance Shaberryman is selling, things quickly escalate to a fight, Shaberryman scores a hit but doesn't achieve anything. Great 2, hesitating briefly due to KitaQman mocking, uses the Great Maximum Cutter, but Shaberryman's insurance heals him instantly from any wounds inflicted, leading Great 2 to eventually exhaust himself. The woman stumbles on Great 2 defeated and Shaberryman and his Karamies ready to defeat him, and hears Great 2's determination not to let her be exploited, and cheers for him. Great 2 defeats the Karamies, then Pizza Slices the ground to throw the chunks of earth at Shaberryman, whose insurance classes this as a natural disaster and doesn't heal him. The woman thanks Great 2. The spaceship is approaching earth, and it's commander seems to have ambitions.

Gotchard: Minato beseeches them all to keep fighting, Elda merges with his giant cube and starts dropping gold everywhere, Kyouka shielding Spanner from some, as well as Dread Troopers, inside the cube Clotho, now painfully aware what she truly wanted was family, becomes Dread Type:Three seeking to destroy him. Hotaro returns to Kitchen Ichinose, where his mother confronts him about being Kamen Rider and, knowing she can't stop him gives him onigiri. Determined to save humanity and the Chemies, and save those already made gold, Rainbow Gotchard, Twilight Majade and Valvarad Kurogane begin fighting Dread Troopers, with assistance from Renge and Sabimaru using alchemised weapons. Greyon summons his latest dolls, parodies of the Abyssal Kings. Gotchard rides GolDash out to the cube, while Valvarad battles Gigist, and Wind arrives to help Majade with Gaelijah and Gérmain. In her last desperate attack, Clotho uses the Repli-Chemies of all 10 Rank 10. Gotchard arrives inside the cube, to find Clotho dying. She curses that meeting him helped her realise what she really wanted, and demands he not lose now, then dies seeing her sisters welcoming her. Greyon still dismisses his children's worth, to Ichinose's anger as Rainbow Gotchard and Elda fight. Renge and Sabimaru save civilians including the youtuber, and Kajiki arrives aiming to help with what he can, shaming some of the onlookers into trying to fight the Dread Troopers properly. The Riders defeat the Abyssal Kings, but Elda overpowers Rainbow Gotchard's allies, AppareSkebows and LightningJungle, and decides to start with the 101st Chemy, using ElDragon to render NijiGon in gold, Super Gotchard UFO-X fights next, then BatKingrobo, NeedleHawk, each constituent Chemy being rendered into gold. He uses Plantinum Gotchard, but then TenLiner and CrossHopper shield him and are also gold. Elda grows the Dread Troopers to spread gold everywhere, celebrating the completion of his El Dorado. But Hotaro is still moving, despite further gold pouring on him, carrying his friends goals, he breaks free and uses the gold fragments to transmute a new Gotchardriver, and calls the Chemies to him as he restores them, and using the Ultima version of Hopper1 and StreamLiner, becomes Gotchard SteamHopper Ultima, and by essentially not caring about the rules, uses alchemy to undo the transmutation on a massive scale and disassemble the Dread Troopers. While acknowledging Greyon's skill as an alchemist, Hotaro knows he isn't helping anyone the way he does things, and with all 101 Chemies by his side, is easily overpowering Elda, as all the Chemies support the final attack. Greyon notes the beauty, as the fragments of the Philosopher's Stone appear to be absorbed by the Chemies. Months later, Hotaro is called by Kaguya, and they discuss recent events. Renge and Sabimaru are helping Minato with new students, Kyouka and Spanner are researching, and Rinne is studying to surpass her father, having someone she wants to see again, and without any memory erasing people have still largely forgotten the Chemies. He has to cut the call short when he's reminded of the big day, as the cast are starting to study a second earth Hotaro transmuted in the battle, which will for now be a Chemy sanctuary, Hopper1 brings Kajiki to help them investigate, and they all run to explore. In another world? Legend approaches a man who is Kamen Rider Gavv, offering him a Kuuga Gochizo, and Gotchard wants thanks for the advice, Gavv thanks them, gifting candies and heading out.

Boonboomger: Boonboom is working when Sakito and ByunD stop by for some food, and hear Taiya is meeting Taiya again, the job he has for him today is a top secret delivery. The Sanseaters all have nightmares of being defeated by the Boonboomgers, and worry the Hashiliens have cut them off, but recalling Mad Rex pressing them to keep going despite their failures, they resolve to keep collecting Gyasoline. Shirabe makes her report to the Division Director, then asks Director Tokoyari about the info on Cannonborg's location he provided, he merely says he has his own sources. Shirabe explains each of the team, naturally getting a bit too into explaining Bundario Bunderas, and also note Genba's past is a mystery, while the Sanseaters find the toilet Mad Rex first made into a Kurumajin to create the Limited Version, which causes people to collapse by extracting cardboard tubes from them. BunViolet is the first on the scene, followed by Taiya and Chassiro, delaying their delivery. Chassiro is afraid, not wanting to have his secrets washed loose like last time, as the others arrive. BunBlack and BunPink shield BunViolet from the attack, but are both open enough it has no effect Sakito believes he is the same. BunBlue defends BunRed, who resists anyway using 119, but it turns out this version doesn't have that ability anyway. BunRed 119 and BunViolet defeat the Kurumajin, and then Boonboomger Robo 119 and ByoonByoom Mach Robo combine techniques to defeat the Kurumaju. Her report complete, Tokoyari dismisses Shirabe, she doesn't notice the next person he's meeting is Naito Raita. The Boonboomgers celebrate their successful delivery, only for it to be attacked behind them, by a new Hashilien Commander who has claimed the delivery, and Genba flies into a rage and attacks.

Gorgeous Sports Festival: The last leg of the contest is a race between Gotchard and a mystery contestant, who turns out to be the new Rider, Gavv. The commentary is partly distorted by the suit actor for Gavv being in the commentary booth. Gavv has an immediate lead, but waits at the finish, only crossing when Gotchard gets close. They finish with a somewhat disjointed ending dance with most of the Riders present.

Yuma kept posing and hugging his hands against his chest* “Thank you...” SND “You pretty boy...” Yuma “I'm snatched everybody... My wig is like snatched...” SND “Snatched, snatched... What are you a Twitter fangirl.”  (*Yumao was using the fujoshi term "尊い".) ●During encore intermission the electric fan next to the stage picked up yga’s shirt and blew it up, exposing yga. Only for the cable to come spiraling out, yanked from the jack, off went the XLR connector, and all. yg's power move left him laughing hysterically. yga laughed!!!!! He laughed as he gave Yumao a powerless mic!!

●With the power move to piston off of, “Professor Yumao” was on the case to give a “lecture” with his cockroach wisdom! He told us about how the ones with the perfect figures come from the outside and live under trees, german cockroaches like to stay inside and come from the inside...

Appearance

Azusa has grey eyes and black hair with lighter gray tips.  The longest point in his hair reaches down to his chin, with long bangs that go right past his eyes.  The bangs are parted with one piece in the middle and the rest on either side of his head.  In the back of Azusa’s hair, right on his neck, he has his hair cut straight.  The rest of it looks messy and curly.

He has a pale complexion with a noticeable scar on the bridge of his nose.  He has a scar on the lower bottom of his left cheek and on the back of his neck as well.  There are bandages around his arms and one around hisneck.

He usually wears a white sweater with sleeves usually around his upper arms with diamond patterns on the left and right side and belts on the bottom parts of the sleeves.  He has a long-sleeved blue shirt underneath with a darker blue bordering the top.

His school uniform consists of the black school blazer with the left arm rolled up showing the bandaged arm and a black vest with a white dress shirt underneath and a blue ribbon and black tie.  He wears the usual black uniform pants with black boots.  He also wears a maroon beret and sometimes holds a long white bandage in his hand.

In LOST EDEN, Azusa’s uniform consists of the dark red school blazer over a purple waistcoat with a white dress shirt underneath.  He wears the black school scarf in the ribbon style with a circular brooch attached to it.  He wears black pants and tall white boots to accompany his uniform.

Personality

A clingy, timid and polite young man whose soft nature contains an extreme sadist and an extreme masochist wrapped up into one.  He enjoys being injured to the point of harming himself.  Despite how soft and controllable he may seem, he’s actually extremely difficult to handle and does as he wants to his heart’s content.

Azusa speaks very slowly and often politely, rarely if ever using a demeaning nickname or insult.  He has never used a demeaning nickname or insult to Yui herself!  

He frequently tries to hurt Yui because he honestly believes she’s a masochist and deserves to be happy by being hurt.  He truly believes that it helps her feel alive and gives her purpose, like he feels when he experiences pain.  He also uses pain to numb emotional distress and will do the same for others.  Azusa has a warped view of physical pain as one of the greatest pleasures.  

Azusa thinks being unwanted is far worse than being dead.

History

CHILDHOOD. Azusa’s early life was spend wandering the streets as a beggar.  Three street urchins named Justin, Melissa and Christina would often find and beat him up for any reason they could think of.  Eventually, when they hurt him, Azusa started to express enjoyment.  He felt like the pain was proof he was alive and he was useful to someone, somehow, such as when the children took their frustrations out on him.

Eventually the three children were killed for trying to steal from a noble’s mansion.  When Azusa learned of it, he despaired because no one would be able to beat him up anymore.  Azusa was eventually brought to the orphanage.

At the orphanage, Azusa was frequently beaten by other children.  Azusa followed Ruki around often so that he could be beaten along with Ruki, much to Ruki’s disgust and initial confusion, but eventually he began to treat Azusa like a little brother.  Yuma was one of the first people who refused to beat Azusa and showed him kindness.  Yuma eventually introduced him to Kou, and all four became friends.  

When they attempted to escape the orphanage, it went south.  The resulting mess ended with Karlheinz turning the four into vampires in return for their service.  Azusa hadn’t minded the orphanage the way the others had, but he didn’t want to be separated from his brothers.  He’s loyal to Karlheinz for giving him a way to not be separated from his brothers after the escape went south.

CURRENT. The Mukamis have made themselves known to Eve and must make the choice to continue to attempt to become Adam themselves, assist in one of the Sakamakis becoming “Adam” for their “Eve”, or steal her away for themselves and truly betray Karlheinz.

NASA Deep Space Exploration Systems Look Ahead to Action-Packed 2018

NASA - Exploration Mission-1 (EM-1) patch. Jan. 8, 2018 Engineers preparing NASA’s deep space exploration systems to support missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond are gearing up for a busy 2018. The agency aims to complete the manufacturing of all the major hardware by the end of the year for Exploration Mission-1 (EM-1), which will pave the road for future missions with astronauts. Planes, trains, trucks and ships will move across America and over oceans to deliver hardware for assembly and testing of components for the Orion spacecraft and the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket while teams at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida prepare the Ground Systems infrastructure. Testing will take place from the high seas to the high skies and in between throughout the year and across the country, not only in support of EM-1, but also for all subsequent missions.

The heat shield will endure temperatures as high as 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit, half as hot as the surface of the Sun, when Orion returns from its missions near the Moon. Mating the heat shield is a crucial step before the service module arrives from Europe in the middle of the year. Once the powerhouse for the spacecraft arrives, technicians will outfit it for mating with the crew module and stack the elements together, joining propulsion lines, avionics and other connections. After the major elements are stacked together, technicians will verify that the integrated crew and service module work as expected and hardware is responding as intended before shipping the stack to NASA’s Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio for testing in 2019. NASA engineers and the U.S. Navy will head out to sea off the coast of California in January to evaluate how they plan to recover Orion after the EM-1 test flight. In Yuma, Arizona, engineers will perform three remaining tests to qualify Orion’s parachutes for missions with crew, and at White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico, workers will continue tests to verify the propulsion system for Orion’s European Service Module works as planned. At the Denver facility of Orion prime contractor Lockheed Martin, a structural test article will undergo pressure, acoustic, pyrotechnic and other testing to help ensure Orion can stand up to vibrations, loads, sounds and blasts associated with separation events in flight. Work is already well underway and will continue for the Orion spacecraft that will carry astronauts on Exploration Mission-2 (EM-2). Workers are welding the primary elements of Orion’s structure at Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans and will ship the completed vessel to Kennedy by the end of 2018. At NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, engineers will review the life support and crew survival systems, and astronauts and test subjects will continue evaluations of the crew interface. NASA engineers are preparing a test version of the spacecraft and separation ring for a mid-air test of Orion’s launch abort system. A precursor to the EM-2 crewed flight of Orion, the test, called Ascent Abort 2, will validate the operations of the launch abort system in a dynamic flight environment. Space Launch System SLS engineers will move at full throttle to complete building rocket hardware that will roar off the launch pad. Michoud will see a surge of activity, as five major structural pieces of SLS come together to form the 212-foot-tall core stage. The four RS-25 engines that will produce two million pounds of thrust upon launch will be attached to the stage. Engineers will ship the integrated hardware on the Pegasus barge to NASA’s Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, for the final test in 2019 before launch, called the “green run” test, when all four engines roar to life and drain the core stage tanks of more than 700,000 gallons of propellant in a mere eight minutes. The brains of the rocket, the core stage avionics and flight computers, will complete qualification and functional testing and be readied for the green run. Solid rocket booster segments made by Orbital ATK in Utah will ride the rails to Kennedy and join booster parts, such as the aft and forward skirts. Two launch adapters made at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama will also arrive at Kennedy. Pegasus will take the 30-foot-tall launch vehicle stage adapter, and NASA’s Guppy cargo airplane will carry the Orion stage adapter. The Orion stage adapter not only connects the Orion vehicle to the SLS, but will also be loaded with 13 small satellites.

SLS testing will continue as the core stage structural test articles for the liquid hydrogen tank, intertank, and liquid oxygen tank arrive at Marshall and are loaded into towering test stands to be pushed, pulled and twisted to simulate flight. Meanwhile, engineers are working on the design of the Exploration Upper Stage and preparing drawings and engineering products for a Critical Design Review in late 2018. Plans call for using the Exploration Upper Stage on EM-2 as part of the first crewed flight test. SLS teams will also continue to build core stage components and other rocket parts for EM-2 and test engines in support of future missions with crew. Ground Systems Workers at Kennedy will continue to ready NASA’s modernized spaceport in Florida for blast off of the rocket and spacecraft. In the spring, the mobile launcher will be rolled out to Launch Pad 39B ahead of a fit check that will verify all physical connections between the launcher and pad systems fit before rolling it into the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) for testing. This includes the major interfaces such as mount mechanisms and ignition overpressure and sound suppression water pipes, as well as smaller interfaces like gaseous nitrogen and helium supply lines and access platforms. After testing in the VAB is complete, the mobile launcher will roll back to the pad for several months of full system testing. Over the summer, critical software updates used for command and control to support EM-1 will be completed and teams will prepare for crewed missions. Ground systems engineers will begin launch pad preparations for launch processing in support of EM-2 by fabricating umbilicals that will service the Exploration Upper Stage engines while the rocket is on the pad. Workers will also start construction for a massive holding tank for liquid hydrogen that will be pumped into the core stage of SLS. All the work by NASA and its contractors helps set the stage for an even busier 2019, when Orion and SLS will be integrated, tested, and rolled out to the launch pad — one of the final steps before EM-1. That initial test flight of the SLS -- launched from NASA’s modernized spaceport in Florida -- will send Orion beyond where any spacecraft built for humans has ventured. All of this foundational work in 2018 and 2019 will enable NASA’s efforts to build a flexible, reusable and sustainable infrastructure that will last multiple decades and support missions into deep space of increasing complexity. A boiling summer is now a scorching fall in the West

The desert Southwest is a hot place to live, but imagine spending over half of the year with high temperatures of at least 100 degrees. Parts of California and Arizona did just that this year.

Long stretches of heat don’t just adversely impact humans and animals, but also contribute to the ongoing drought and wildfires in the western US.

A series of high-pressure systems in unfavorable locations have not only allowed for temperatures to soar over the past few months, but have effectively blocked any large, rainmaking storms from moving through the area.

“High pressure directly overhead, or to the south of Arizona contributed to our lack of rainfall and hot temperatures,” said Emily Carpenter, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service’s office in Tucson, Arizona.

It’s more than just a little dry. The month of September tied the previous record set in 1953 for the driest month in Tucson. In both years, no rainfall was measured.

“The area of high pressure aloft that drives the annual monsoon flow remained right over the top of Arizona or to the south for a large part of summer which suppressed thunderstorms, kept deep monsoonal moisture to our south and led to the very hot temperatures that resulted in the hottest and 2nd driest monsoon on record,” John Glueck, a senior meteorologist weather service, said in his compilation of data of the 2020 monsoon season.

But it’s a ‘dry heat’

The 2020 monsoon season ranked as the second driest on record for the Tucson area. The monsoon season is defined by the weather service as any rainfall from June 15 to September 30. The Tucson area only received 1.62 inches of rain in the 2020 monsoon season, second only to 1924 when the area only picked up 1.59 inches.

Other southwestern cities have also felt the drought. Phoenix hasn’t recorded any measurable rain since August 20. In San Diego, June 29 was the last time any measurable rain fell. Downtown Los Angeles probably forgets what rain even looks like, since the city last saw some on May 18.

Las Vegas set a record for the longest dry stretch in its recorded history, currently sitting at 180 consecutive days, including Saturday since no rain is in the forecast. The city last saw measurable rainfall on April 20.

This would also explain why Las Vegas also had its driest monsoon on record this year. Yuma, Arizona, also achieved that same record.

None of these places are alone in the struggle for rainfall. More than 80 percent of the western US is dealing with drought conditions.

In Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and Utah, the level of extreme drought encompasses more than 50% of each state. The weather service defines extreme drought as “an area where major crop and pasture losses are common, fire risk is extreme, and widespread water shortages can be expected requiring restrictions.”

“With over 95% of Colorado experiencing drought conditions and over 50% considered an extreme drought, the state is in desperate need of rain and snow,” says Derek Van Dam, Appradab meteorologist. “This state is yet another example of the long-term drying trend experienced over the western US, a product of climate change and our warming planet.”

A very prolonged stretch of heat

And if the drought alone wasn’t bad enough, this summer has brought baking temperatures with many cities experiencing an abnormal amount of 100-degree days.

On Friday, Tucson hit 101 degrees which means the city tied with October 16, 1991, for the latest occurring 100-degree day in the year. This coming after hitting 110 degrees on September 4, the latest the temperature has reached 110, breaking the old record set on August 22, 1930. September 4 also is the city’s hottest September temperature on record.

Friday also added to Tucson’s record total of 108 days with 100-degree temperatures in 2020. For comparison, the average number of 100-degree days in a year for Tucson is 62, according to the weather service.

Palm Springs, California, has also seen a record number of triple-digit days this year. The forecast calls for a high temperature of 102 degrees on Saturday, which will mark the 148th day of temperatures at or above 100 in Palm Springs.

On Friday, Phoenix had its 145th day in 2020 where the thermometer reached at least 100 degrees — a record according to the weather service’s Phoenix office. The previous record of 143 days was set in 1989.

As of Saturday, exactly half of the days this year — 145 days out of 290 — have reached 100 degrees in Phoenix .

This means that both Palm Springs and Phoenix have spent at least half of the 290 days so far of this year with temperatures at or above 100 degrees. An achievement that neither probably want to have.

Unfortunately, things don’t look like they will change all that much over the next few months. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s official winter outlook calls for more additional warmer, drier conditions across the Southwest thanks in part to a very strong La Nina. Which also means drought conditions will continue, if not worsen, as we head into 2021.
