i actually do kinda like delivering groceries on the side because it gives me such a unique cross-section of the community. i never know whose groceries im shopping for until i finish the delivery and see them/their home and it's like it adds more detail to the picture of who they are. the baby supplies going to the apartment that i know for a fact is one bedroom (they'll be moving soon - i bet they're apartment hunting, i hope they find a place). the new cat litter box, bowl, and kitten food going to the house covered in "i <3 my dog" paraphernalia (a kitten definitely showed up on the porch recently and made itself at home). the fairly healthy boring grocery order that includes an incongruous tub of candy-filled ice cream going to the home of an elderly woman with toddler toys in the yard (it's clearly for her grandkids, whom she sees often).
shopping for someone else's groceries is a fairly intimate thing. i've bought condoms and pregnancy tests, allergy medicine and nyquil, baby benadryl and teething gel, a huge pile of veggies paired with an equally huge pile of junk food, tampons and shampoo and closet organizers and ant traps and deodorizing shoe inserts and a million other little things that tell a million different stories in their endless combinations. one time someone had me buy one single green bean. i messaged them to confirm that's actually what they wanted, and they said yes - neither of them liked green beans very much, but they had a baby they were introducing to solid foods, and they wanted to let him try one to see if he liked them. another time i had someone request 50 fresh roma tomatoes - not for a restaurant, but for a person in an apartment. the kitchen behind them smelled like basil and garlic when they opened the door. another time i brought groceries to three elderly blind women who share a house. that was one of the few times i have ever broken my rule and gone inside a place i've delivered to, because they asked if i could place the grocery bags in a specific location in the kitchen for them to work on unloading and there was no way i was going to refuse helping.
i gripe about the poor tippers, but people can also be incredibly kind. one time i took shelter from a sudden vicious hailstorm inside an older lady's home in a trailer park, while i was in the middle of delivering her groceries. we both huddled just inside the door, watching in shock as golf-ball-sized hail swept through for about five minutes and then disappeared. she handed me an extra $10 bill on my way out the door.
when covid was at its deadliest, people would leave extra (often lysol-scented) cash tips and thank-you notes for me taped to the door or partially under the mat. i especially loved the clearly kid-drawn thank you notes with marker renderings of blobby people in masks, or trees, or rainbows. in summer of 2020 i delivered to a nice older couple who lived outside of town in the hills, and they insisted i take a huge double handful of extra disposable gloves and masks to wear while shopping - those were hard to find in stores at the time, but they wanted me to have some of their supply and wouldn't take no for an answer.
anyway. all this to say people are mostly good, or at least trying to be, despite my complaints.

Hannibal falling in love
It is ridiculous how wrapped around your little finger he was.
From the first moment he laid eyes on you he found his new fixation. Every time you were in the same room with him his gaze was fixed on you, observing silently every detail, getting to know you before you were even introduced.
Of course he would be very careful, almost suspicious of any new person being added to his social circle. For a man obsessed with his social image he had to be cautious of any potential competitor and you were just lovely. So charming, well educated, funny, and polite.
He found you unusually enchanting. Of course he recognised your beauty but there was something less superficial about you that just pulled him in.
The feeling was known to him yet very rare as it never seemed to have a happy end. He knew he tended to be quite intense with his emotions and that never ended well so he promised himself it wouldn’t be that way with you.
It wasn’t long till you happened to be invited to the same dinner parties through common friends. How could he not observe you when you were sitting opposite of him only a few centimetre out of his reach? Every time you happened to talk he found the perfect opportunity to study you, the way you spoke, the way you smiled, the faces you made when you found something funny, stupid or ridiculous. You tried to be discreet not to offend anyone but he noticed, he noticed and he loved every expression your precious face made.
If you happened to sit next to him he would already know what perfume you wore, what scented shampoo you used everything. (And he wouldn’t mind doing some personal research about you beforehand)
With every joke of yours he found himself truly laughing and when you spoke his inner monologue quietened and he didn’t have to pretend to be listening because he actually did.
For a man like him who spent most part of his life stuck inside his head, building fortresses against the cruelty of people you quickly broke down everything while having him feeling so comfortable and at ease with you. You had him hooked.
Of course he noticed the way other people looked at you. Women and men with their envy and lust and he wouldn't be jealous if he only knew you were his.
During his sessions he found himself unable to focus on anything, his mind just replaying every conversation you two had over and over like a broken radio. Almost every night he was awake at the most unholy hours, his mind unable to rest and stop thinking about you. That was when he knew it was inevitable.
His insomnia and love for you he treated with writing love letters and sonnets, making sketches and drawings of you as he imagined you, all of them hidden and locked in the drawer of his office and his heart too.
Now not only were you dominating his every through but his whole life too.
He would take notes into his head of your interests and would say all the perfect things to keep you interested. What were your hobbies? Art, literature, music he would become an expert for you. He knew everything from Taylor Swift's latest album to the full analysis of your favourite poem. He would do and learn about anything you liked and was passionate about, just to keep you talking to him with that sparkle in your eyes. He could do it for hours, days and every minute for the next of his life.
I hope you don’t share your affections with anyone special because if he found out which he would, they would be the next missing person in town or worse.
When you became used to him and you got to know each other better he found his chance to invite you to one of his special dinners. Only that one would be even more special as you would be the only guest hence having his sole interest. He had one whole evening to amaze you with his culinary skills, deep, meaningful conversations about art, philosophy and life. At the end of the night he had you feeling it too.
And when the time came and you became his you and the whole world would see just how smitten he is.
He laughed with every joke, he listened to you carefully and everytime your name was mentioned he couldn't help but smile. Any little things that caught your eyes you would have and if you asked for the moon itself he would find a way to give it to you.
He didn’t mind, he actually loved it. That was love for him. He wanted to be your loyal servant and your beloved and feared god all at once. Could you give him this and he would give you the world.
If you didn’t however return his affections or god forbid you betray him that would be a very different and tragic(for you) story.

On the Run Mini Series
part 2 warnings: angst, mention of suicide, mention of abuse, cursing
As they woke up from the most uncomfortable but well needed rest, Armando immediately felt guilty for the way he cut the conversation with Kayla. Her eyes were a blood shot red and puffy. He didn’t know what she went through and by the looks of it, probably just as rough. She doesn’t cry ever and he clearly hit a wound. She remained quiet the rest of the way their way through the forest.
“Growing up was tough. My mom raised me in prison till I was 6 then I was sent off with someone from the cartel.” He looks at her and she looks at him giving a small smile of appreciation. She knew this wasn’t easy to share.
“My dad was abusive to me and my mom. She uh committed suicide. I ran away with my boyfriend at the time and he was even worse. I almost died.” His heart hurt at hearing how cruel her up bringing was. He didn’t want to pity her so he didn’t apologize. But a women should never experience abuse like that and hoped those two pieces of shits got their karma.
The two by the luck of god came across a ran down trailer park, but clearly was occupied. Kayla gives Armando the signal to stay back as she sees men roaming around outside. She takes two steps and Armando pulls her back.
“¡¿Estás loca?!” He scolds her for even wanting to put herself in danger. She puts her hand over his mouth, and mouths just trust me. Did she know what she was doing? Nope. Armando fumingly stayed back knowing this was probably going to backfire. He couldn't hear what the men were saying, but he noticed their flirty gestures and immediately turned green. Was he jealous? Even he wouldn't admit to it.
Okay she was using the fact that she was a women to get what she wants. So what? Desperate times come for desperate measures. One of the dudes went back into their homes and returned with an older lady who couldn't help but love Kayla. Armando could not believe that this was happening right now. These people clearly did not own a tv or else they would know their faces are probably all over the news right now. Kayla was given clothes, some toiletries that could be spared and keys to an old car that wasn't in use of them anymore. Was this all too sweet and smoothing sailing? Yea but God does exist.
Kayla throws Armando the key and he catches it.
"Drive and lose the attitude. You're welcome." She gets into the passaenger seat and sighs happily.
"What did you even tell them?" Armando eyes straight on the road ahead.
"Sometimes people are just caring Armando. Just be happy and not a grumpy asshole?" Kayla teases him.
He gives her a side eye and it just confirms how much he’s like Mike after all.
“The car won’t last the whole way home but let’s enjoy it while we have it.” She dozed off for a little while, before waking up and hearing the car comes to a stop. The sun is gonna set soon, she notices the stream that they were parked by.
“We need to freshen up, unless you wanna stink up the car the whole way home.” Armando grins as she shoots him a dirty look. He just loves to get under her skin.
She found a huge rock to shower behind. Stripping off, she laid her new clothes on the rock so it doesn’t get wet. The cold water felt refreshing against her skin. She washed away all the dried up blood, careful not to touch any of her recent wounds. God bless the people that helped us she said to herself as she washes her hair with shampoo, the fresh scent of green apple filling the air. You reached for the body wash that was slated on the edge of the rock, when her wet hand touched Armando's.
"S-sorry!" Her teeth clattered from how cold the water was. She stepped back only to have her foot caught into some rocks at the bottom of the stream. Her scream got Armando's attention and he was rightfully annoyed cause how clumsy can you be?
"Now what happened!?" He grumbles as he washes the remaining soap off of his body.
"My f-foot is stuck in the rocks and its pressing into my cut on my ankle" Kayla cries out not wanting to admit she needed help, but she was seriously fucked. The gash on her calf to her ankle starting to burn as it was reopened.
"I will help you-"
"I'm naked!"
"Do you want my help or not!? Besides you're probably not much to look at anyways"
Ouch
"Okay..." Kayla responds quietly as she covers her breast as much she could. Armando comes around fully clothed, wetting his new pair of jeans because his partner is the clumsiest person he has ever met. When she comes into his view he immediately takes back what he said. She was a sight to see. He tried his best not to stare as he kicks the rock loose and picks her up. Fuck his clothes getting wet. For the first time he saw her in a different light. He held her still, taking in the green apple scent that filled the air around her. His warm hands on her cold waist, he notices her uneasy breathing and he presses their forehead together. This women can not have him feeling these things.
"Estás bien?" The way his hands felt on her waist ignited a fire within her that she didn't know exist. She could only whisper a yes as he slowly pulls away. Both yearning for the other one to make the first move, but to prideful to admit it. As he fully leaves her view, she lets out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. What was happening?
He hates me and I hate him that's how this goes....

Listen this may be self indulgent however
It is of my personal belief that toxic!könig loves a chubby Engel, cause it just fits with his idea of a woman being a delicate flower, so soft and squishy, how can he not think she's delicate? Shes far too cute and plushy to be without protection.
This is actually so true because I think König loves soft, plush things. And of course he would never say it! He doesn’t get heart eyes when he sees a stuffed animal, nor does he cry into a woman’s tits (he would if he could, but he can’t so he won’t).
He says he likes guns and knives, he loves to stab and shoot people, sure, loves the adrenaline high he gets seconds before he opens his chute… But the truth is, he loves to immerse himself in softness, especially after a hard mission.
König has a soft spot for women who are the complete opposite of himself. So yeah König wouldn't say no to a curvy babe! He prefers his lady shorter (well it doesn’t take much to be shorter than König but, you know), softer, and gentler than him. König is lean and super athletic, his moves are a bit anxious and snappy (he masks it as efficiency), he operates in a world full of loud noises and acrid scents and cold, hard metal, so the opposite of all that would be heaven.
He will melt when his woman speaks softly, when her moves are flowy, when she smells good. She doesn’t even have to use posh perfumes or anything like that, just some “girl shampoo” or fruit-scented shower gel is enough to drive König crazy. (He probably thinks that’s how women normally smell like… peach or coconut or vanilla or whatever that’s so different from gunpowder and the stench of his own soldier sweat.)
He would be so annoying too, squeezing and lifting and cuddling and squishing his plush babe from dawn to dusk 🙄

Summary: Eddie comes over and things get heated quickly
Warning: NSFW, SMUT, protected sex, praise kink, dominating
Word Count: 2.151
Eddie and I have been dating for a couple of weeks. It was blissful. Despite the side-remarks at school and the dirty looks we received whenever we walked hand-in-hand through town, our love was strong and growing. And even if the gossip got to one of us, we always found a way to make the other forget.
"My mother actually screamed when she found the pills in my nightstand," I told Eddie. We were sitting in my bedroom, and he brought over some of his music to listen to. I wasn't the biggest fan of the super hardcore metal songs, but I did enjoy the slightly calmer ones. "She said I was too young to be having sex. You should have seen her face when I told her I lost my virginity at fifteen."
"Fifteen?" he asked and popped a slice of apple, that I had cut for us earlier, into his mouth.
"Yeah." I shrugged. "I told you about my first time."
"I didn't know you were fifteen."
"Oh, please, Eddie, you were sixteen when you lost your virginity to some girl on holiday that passed through town."
"Her name was Delores, and she was a totally hot. She knew stuff."
"Well, if Delores is so good, you can go to her." I chuckled at his annoyed eye roll. "As I was saying, she acutally took the pills away from me."
"What?"
I choked on a slice of apple when Eddie jumped up, his face ghost-pale and his doe eyes widened in fear. A smile tugged at my lips and I pushed him back down into my cushions, straddling him before I continued, "Would you stop freaking out love, and let me finish? She took the pills away from me, but I had another package in my room. Trust me, I wouldn't let your sweet cock inside this temple without protection."
Eddie exhaled, relieved.
I added, "Besides, we don't fuck without a condom, and no, don't even try to convince me otherwise. I don't fancy getting some sexual disease or worse, getting pregnant. Did you know that the state passed a law in 1950 that women, who actively seek out an abortion can be crimilized?"
"Seriously? That's fucked up."
"It totally is!"
I shook my head and leaned down to rest it against the crouch of his neck. His hands moved from my hips to my back, drawing circles and other patterns over the thin fabric of my shirt.
"Did your mother say anything else?"
I sighed and brushed my nose against his neck. Even though he smelt like cheap cologne and sweat, I found that scent calming.
"Not really. She reminded me that she doesn't like you and complained about my sex life to everyone at the dinner table. I think she hoped my father would say something, but he was actually pretty calm. He didn't even say anything."
"Yeah … I might have something to do with that."
Frowning, I pushed myself into a sitting position and stared at the sheepish smirk on his face. Worry nested in my chest. "What did you do?"
"Nothing! Well, alright. Do you remember when you forgot your bag at mine and I brought it to school the next day? Your dad saw it in my hand when he dropped off your younger siblings by middle school, and he questioned me about it. He, uh, well, everyone knew that we were dating. It wasn't a secret, but I guess he didn't believe the gossip. I just said that I love you and that we're taking things slow, which is a total lie as you know, and he just nodded. He said, 'You're both adults. Just respect each other.' and left."
"My dad said that?"
"Yeah, I'm still shocked, too."
"That's … wow … I don't even know what to say. I always thought my dad would be trouble, not my mom."
Eddie let out a hearty chuckle, and even though I was mashed up against his neck, I could feel every beat of his laughing on my cheek. I gave him a sly look while pressing my lips to his skin and brought my hair across to rummage through his unruly mane. It looked clean and smelled exactly like the shampoo that I had purchased for myself a few weeks ago to keep at his tailer.
"You've been using my shampoo," I chuckled and he turned his head to the side, smiling at me.
"I like it," he shrugged. "It reminds me of you, and my hair got this weird shine every since I started using it."
"Yeah, that's called having healthy hair."
"Whatever."
Eddie brought his hands to my face, cupped my cheeks, and planted a sweet kiss on my lips. I ran my hands through his hair and stretched the skin just above his neck while Eddie let out a muffled groan. My lips curved into a smile. Taking my chance with his mouth being somewhat open, I deepened the kiss and explored his teeth with my tongue. Eddie didn't even attempt to challenge me to a fight for dominance. His hands moved all over my back and hips as he forced me up into a sitting position. Without interrupting the kiss, his skillful hands drew my shirt up to my chest and he pulled it over my head. As soon as the cloth was dropped to the floor, he slammed his lips against mine once more.
He hummed as he planted kisses along my chin, gently moving down to my neck. "Mhm," he hummed as he did so. His nose was brushing across my sweet spot, I let out a little whimper as it happened, and he smirked against my skin and laughed out loud.
"I missed you," admitted Eddie in a low whisper.
"We saw each other at school not more than five hourse ago."
"But it's not the same. Not like this." He pulled off my bra and cupped my breast. "We haven't been this close for days. Oh, hello you two." He spoke to my breast. "I missed you, girls. Don't worry. Daddy's home now."
It was almost impossible to hide the smile from my lips and I shook my head while Eddie kissed each of my breasts. His tongue darted over my erect nipples causing me to hum and leaned into him.
"Please," I choked out, "stop calling my boobs your girls and referring to yourself as their daddy."
"But I am their daddy." Eddie gave me a stern look. "No else is allowed to touch 'em."
"That doesn't — That doesn't make you their daddy, you idiot. Just admit that you like calling yourself daddy."
"Maybe." He kissed the stretch marks around my chest and looked at me through his long lashes. "I'll admit it, if you admit that you like me calling myself daddy."
"You're ridiculous."
"And you're beautiful."
By the time the next track on the album played, Eddie's shirt lay next to mine and I was without shorts, keeping him close to me by crossing my bare legs over his hips. Eddie kissed and nibbled on my neck, undoubtedly leaving behind a trail of lovebites as I ran my black-painted fingernails across his bare chest and traced the outlines of his tattoos. His lips brushed just below my ear and his hot breath trickled. I chuckled at the burning sensation, "The last one's haven't even healed yet."
"Don't care. Want everyone to know that you're taken. You're mine."
His words made my stomach buzz with butterflies.
"I'm yours, and you're mine."
Eddie moved his head to look at me. His lips were swollen, his cheeks flushed and his eyes unfocused like he was dreaming. "I'm yours," he repeated.
I immediately grabbed his head and slammed a passionate kiss on his lips, which caused him to grimace into my face before pulling me into a tight embrace. I was attempting to convey to him everything that I could not put into words and show him how much I loved him at the same time. When he pressed harder against me, I smirked because I could feel his hard cock twitch in his jeans. However, my smiling faded when he continued to grind down against my clothed clit, and I whined.
"You like that, huh?"
"Shut up. Just —"
"Just what, darling?"
"I want you. Fuck, I want you so bad."
"Why didn't you just say so?"
Before I could respond, his hands moved to my underwear and yanked it off. His eyes twinkled at the sight of my wetness and a smirk curved his lips as he held two fingers in front of my mouth. I leaned forward and took them in my mouth, swirling my tongue around his fingertips. He took them out of my mouth and pushed them inside me. I moaned at the feeling of his fingers stretching my warm folds.
"Fuck, that's hot."
He drove his fingers out and pushed them back inside at a relentless pace, watching in awe as I arched my back and tried to inch closer to his hand, moaning as he brushed against my clit with his thumb.
"I wish you could see yourself, sweetheart. You're fucking beautiful."
"Faster, Eddie."
He obliged and fucked my wet hole, harder and faster, adding his thumb to circle his swollen clit. I closed my eyes and let out every single moan and cry that he caused as the knot at the bottom of my stomach began to tie. My climax was building; sweat dripped down from my knees and neck and stomach, and the sound of Eddie's fingers forcing themselves inside me as I cramped around them was almost louder than the music.
"Eddie."
"You're close, huh? Come on, honey, cum for me."
If he added another finger, you wouldn't have noticed. He leaned down and bit down on my nipple having me groan out in euphoria, calling his name over and over again until the knot in my stomach exploded and I came with his finger buried deep inside me.
"Fuck, Eddie." I panted. "Oh my God."
"We ain't down yet, baby."
Before I could ask, I was dragged off the bed and shoved to the floor. Eddie towered above me and unbuckled his pants, slipping out of them. His cock was hard and pre-cum covered his tip. I tried to take it in my hand, but Eddie took my hand and kissed me. "Not tonight, darling," he said. "I have something better in mind. Turn around."
I did as he ordered and moved around, surprised to find myself sitting in front of the mirror. Eddie smirked at my reflection, stroking himself slowly as he slowly came up behind me.
"You're gonna watch me fuck that little pussy of yours raw. You hear me? Watch. Don't close your eyes."
"Eddie —"
"Shut up."
He pushed me forward, pulled a condom on, and lined himself up, not allowing me a minute of rest as he pushed inside. I gasped and whined as his cock twitched inside me and in the mirror, I saw Eddie try to keep his moans contained, but he failed.
"Fuck, sweetheart, you're tight."
His large hands grasped my hips and he held on, nails digging into my fat, as he drove himself in and out of me at a merciless pace. I moaned his name and tried to take his hand, desperate for more skin-to-skin contact. Eddie understood. He bent forward and grasped my chest, hurling me upwards. I needed to arch my back so that he was still able to fuck me fast and Eddie groaned, kissing my neck.
"Touch yourself."
"It's too much."
"Did I stutter?"
Slowly, I moved my hand towards my aching clit and rubbed it in slow and controlled circles. Eddie groaned and messaged my breast, watching my hand movements like a hawk.
"Faster," he demanded.
Although the knot in my stomach was getting near to hurting me, I was able to speed up my pace and closed my eyes. Eddie mumbled my name, which caused shivers to run down my back, and I became tenser.
"Open your eyes."
My eyelashes flew open, and the image made me flinch; Eddie was sweating, and he was fucking me so hard that his balls were slapping against my ass cheeks. I massaged my clit so quickly that it had become numb. My throat was ripped apart by a sob, and Eddie yelled out my name as he too let out his sob. Tears streaked my vision as he slowly pulled himself out and slubbed back against the edge of my seat. His arms reached out and I wobbled towards him. He kissed my cheeks and wiped away the tears.
"Did so good," he muttered, kissing my cheek.
"That was amazing."
"I know. We should more often in front of the mirror."
"I felt like I was going to piss myself."
"Sweetheart, next time, you're gonna."
I was horny. Enjoy.

part iii

Part Two // Part Four
Masterlist
It took you fifteen minutes to gather the courage to take a shower. Another ten to undress. You hated how exposed you felt, how at any moment Captain Rogers or Sergeant Barnes could walk in and see you naked.
The shampoo smelled heavenly, and as you dried your hair you marveled at how soft it was, how the scent lingered in your hair.
You clutched the towel to your body as you rummaged through the dresser drawers, searching for the least provocative set of underwear. You settled on a pair of lacy briefs that showed more of your ass than you initially thought and a matching bra.
You sorted through the wardrobe five different times, trying to find something to wear. Should you wear a dress? Did they want you to dress up? God, why were you complying with them?
You decided on a white sleeveless dress with a pink floral pattern and a flattering neckline. You paired it with a light pink cardigan, pulling the sleeves down past your wrists.
Looking in the bathroom mirror, you find what you need to style your hair, applying a quick layer of mascara to your lashes. While contemplating whether or not to put on some lip gloss, you grabbed the Chanel perfume bottle, examining it carefully before spritzing a little on your neck. It smelled like jasmine and roses. You liked it.
You shouldn't like it.
You're looking through the extensive makeup collection when you hear the door unlock. You turn your head and watch Bucky close the door behind him, balancing a tray with three plates of food in one hand. He spots you in the bathroom and his jaw drops.
"Wow, doll, you look—you look amazing."
You give him a timid smile and watch as he moves out of sight. You follow him to the threshold of the second room, the one you hadn't yet looked in. A small dining table sat in the middle of the room, with an absolutely gorgeous diamond chandelier hanging above the table. A large bookcase filled with books lined the wall. Skimming the titles, you realized that most of them were books that you had at home—or at the very least the same authors. Some were books you've never heard of before, a few were ones you've always wanted to read. Others were older, classics like the Oz series by L. Frank Baum and the Lord of the Rings series. Books that Steve and Bucky would have read in their childhoods.
"That was Steve's idea," Bucky says, walking up to you after he set the plates down on the table. "Wanted to get you something a little more personal."
You hummed in response, not knowing what else to say. Were you supposed to thank them? For what, for kidnapping you? For buying you expensive luxuries you didn't want?
Bucky hooked his finger under your chin, tilting your head up to look at him.
"You look absolutely stunning in this dress, doll," he murmured, his voice low. You swallowed before finding your voice.
"It's just a dress. . . ."
His eyes were gorgeous. Tantalizing blue-grey like the sky at the first signs of a storm. You found yourself lost in them, at the little specks of a deeper blue, of green. You didn't realize he was closing in on you until his lips touched yours.
He smirked against your lips as you squeaked in surprise, your shoulders tensing as your hands flew to his chest to push him away. You felt like you were pushing against a brick wall; the solid mass of muscle beneath your palms wouldn't budge. When Bucky seemingly got tired of your resistance, he gathered your wrists in one of his hands and pinned them to your chest.
He moaned against your mouth, coaxing your lips apart as he dipped his tongue in. You stayed frozen in your spot, letting his tongue roam within your mouth. His hand trailed down to your breast, squeezing softly as you whimpered. His lips moved to the corner of your mouth, then to your jawline, kissing and sucking his way down your neck.
"You're wearing the perfume," Bucky commented, murmuring against your skin. "Do you like it? It reminded us of something women would wear back in our day. Something that fits you."
You shut your eyes, biting back a whimper as he nibbled on your neck. He intertwined his fingers with yours, pinning your hands flat against the wall and he suckled at your pulse point. You let out a weak mewl as he licked over the dark mark he created, his knee pushing against the apex between your thighs.
"Bucky asked you a question, sweetheart," Steve said suddenly, standing in the threshold, holding a bottle of wine by the neck and three glasses by their stems. Your eyes go wide at the sight of him and you try to push Bucky away, but he doesn't budge.
"When one of us asks you a question, you answer it." Stave's voice was surprisingly stern, sending a shudder down your spine.
It took you a moment to gather your voice. "Yes. . . it smells very nice." If either of them heard how shaky your voice was, they didn't acknowledge it. Steve hummed, setting the wine down on the table.
"Buck, dinner's ready."
"Mmm, I got dinner right here," he mumbled. Bucky grabbed your hips and pulled you down on his knee, grinding your core against him. You yelped, pushing against his chest in desperation.
"Bucky."
Bucky grumbled in response, fingers digging into the divot of your hips as he licked a stripe up your neck before finally relenting.
Your knees were shaking so much you could barely keep yourself upright, your hands plastered against the wall for support. Mascara streamed down your cheeks as Bucky held his hand out to you.
"C'mon, doll, let's eat."
Steve pulled out a chair for you, Bucky guiding you to sit down. Steve wiped your stained cheeks with a napkin, shushing you as you whimpered.
"Buck and I made your favorite, sweetheart," Steve beamed. "Fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli. We even got a bottle of Cabernet to share."
You nodded, mumbled a small 'thank you', and let Steve set your plate in front of you.
"Eat up, sweetie."
You were allowed one glass of wine during dinner, which was barely filled a third of the way up. You wanted to drink from the entire goddamn bottle—it seemed appropriate, considering the circumstances.
The fettuccine was good, admittedly, which made you sick to your stomach. You weren't very hungry, you had hardly taken four bites of your pasta, and Steve and Bucky had noticed.
"What's the matter, doll?" Bucky asked. "Do you not like it?"
"No!" you rushed. "No, it—dinner's wonderful. . . I'm just not very hungry."
"You haven't eaten all day, sweetheart," Steve chided. "And you didn't have very much to eat yesterday, are you feeling okay?"
You scoffed at that. "Other than the fact that a couple of psychotic superheroes have kidnapped me?" you muttered. "Oh, yeah, I'm great."
"Watch the attitude," Steve warned. You bit the inside of your cheek, looking down at your uneaten food.
"Steve." Bucky looked at his friend, giving him the puppy eyes he couldn't ignore. "Give her a break."
Steve sighed. "If you really don't want to eat, fine, we'll go over the rules instead. Buck, you mind cleaning up?"
Bucky downed his wine, sighing as he and Steve stood. You were hesitant to follow, but when Steve held out his hand for you to take, you realized you didn't have much of a choice. He threaded his fingers in yours, guiding you back to the bed.
"Sit," he told you. You took a seat on the edge of the bed, Steve standing in front of you. "Good girl."
You couldn't stop the involuntary shudder that ran down your spine at the pet name. Steve smirked at your reaction.
"We're going to go over the rules, okay? There aren't many." He waited until you nodded to continue. "First off: We won't tolerate disobedience. You'll do as you're told when you're told, and you'll drop the backtalk. Got it?"
You couldn't understand the fear that settled in your gut. You should be angry—furious—at him for trying to control you, but you were just unbelievably scared. They held all the power here. You were helpless.
"Second rule," Steve growled, "you answer when Bucky or I talk to you."
"Okay," you forced out. Steve's expression relaxed a little.
"Good. Until you can show Bucky and me that you're ready to move upstairs with us, you'll stay down here. We bought you some books already, but if you want anything else to keep you entertained, just tell us. We'll get you anything you want, within reason. And you can make as much noise as you want down here—we soundproofed it. Doesn't mean you won't get punished for causing a ruckus, though."
Your lower lip wobbled a little as you responded with, "I understand."
"You will treat us with respect. You'll use your manners, you'll be sweet. You will accept what we give you, and you'll do as you're told when you're told.
"You disobey us, you will be punished. And trust me, Bucky and I can get pretty creative when we want to be. Your attitude at the dinner table was your only warning."
"I understand," you said quietly. "I'm sorry."
The apology slipped past your lips before you could stop it.
"Buck and I will do everything we can to make you happy and comfortable. That's our job, sweetheart, to make you happy." He gently cupped your cheek, his hand so warm you had to stop yourself from leaning into his touch. "You already make us so happy, we just want to return the favor."
You frowned at that, confused. Steve could see the wheels turning in your head, an amused smile on his face.
"What's going on in that pretty head of yours, princess?"
"Why am I here?" you asked carefully, your shoulders tense as you avoided his gaze. "I just—I don't understand."
Steve sighed, squatting down so he was level with you. "Because, sweetheart, we need you. You are perfect for us, baby, I knew that the moment I first saw you on the ice. The way you danced was so—so beautiful, you know? Like you were walking on water. I saw the way you seemed to relax, like every burden was being lifted off your shoulders. It's the only time you've seemed truly free. You're always so busy, sweetheart; between classes and practice, when do you have time for yourself? You're gonna work yourself to death, baby. We can help you, we can make you happy. I know you don't understand right now, but we are what you need.
"And you'll make us happy. We want you with us, want you in our relationship. We love you, sweetheart, we just want to show you that we love you."
You didn't realize you were crying until Steve brushed his thumb against your cheek to wipe away a tear.
"I know it's a lot, baby, but it's the truth. We're gonna take care of you, princess. You'll be safe here."
Your hands shook as you folded them in your lap, wringing your dress through your fingers. The fearful pout on your face had Steve trying to stop a smile. The crease between your brows was just too cute.
"But—I was happy," you sniffled. "I love skating, I love dancing. . . I was going to graduate in the spring. You're taking my life away, why can't you see that?"
"We know it's tough, doll," Bucky said, leaning against the threshold, his arms crossed against his chest. "We know it'll take some time for you to acclimate to your new life, but if you're patient with us, we'll be patient with you."
"No. You don't understand—" Your fear was quickly dissipating into anger. They weren't listening to you, they weren't going to listen. "I don't want to be here. You say you care about me? That you want to make me happy? Then let me go, please."
Steve sighed, looking back towards Bucky. His gaze turned hard as he looked back at you. "You're staying with us. We'll talk about some things we can get you to keep you from growing bored."
Your face fell at his comment.
"My ma used to cross-stitch," Bucky commented. "I would watch her and my sister go at it for hours. I'm sure it isn't too hard to figure out."
"Or knitting?" Steve piped. "You ever knit, sweetheart?"
You shook your head after a moment, appalled that they were having this conversation so nonchalantly. Rage radiated within you, angry tears threatening to spill past your lashes as you dug your nails into the palms of your hands.
"There anything you like to do, princess?" Steve asked.
You shrugged simply, looking down at your hands. Steve frowned, opening his mouth to speak when Bucky stopped him, resting his hand on his shoulder.
"It's okay, doll, think about it for a bit." He gave you a small smile before giving Steve an exasperated look. "Stevie and I'll take the dishes upstairs, why don't you go ahead and get ready for bed?"
You swallowed thickly, nodding.
"Good girl, we'll be back down in a bit."
You watched them leave, the big heavy door locking you in behind them. You felt numb—fuzzy—like you weren't actually there. Or maybe you were just hoping you weren't. That maybe this was all some drunken-induced nightmare. Maybe you had drunk too much and wound up in an alcohol-induced coma.
You stood, stiffly walking toward the dresser. You shuffled through the drawer, looking for something suitable to sleep in. All you could find were silky slip ons and vintage nightgowns with lace on the hems and little bows—you hated it. You hated how they picked your wardrobe like you were a doll, how they were keeping you down here like a. . . a pet. Like you were a puppy they chose to take home from a shelter, keeping you in the basement to acclimate you to the house.
You groaned in frustration, slamming the drawer shut. You pace back and forth between the width of the room, pulling at your hair as you tried to put your thoughts together. Your head was spiraling, completely overwhelmed as you drowned in rage and fear and stress until you felt like you couldn't breathe.
You jumped as you heard the door unlocking, turning your head just in time to see Steve enter the room. You frowned, watching him wearily as he smiled at you, closing the door behind him. "Hey, sweetheart."
"What are you doing here?" It slipped past your lips before you really thought about it, mouth clamping shut as soon as you saw the way Steve's jaw clenched.
"Made you some hot chocolate," he said, holding up a mug. "Sprinkled some cinnamon in it, just how you like."
You felt your stomach drop. You blinked once, twice, swallowing the bitter disgust that was threatening to overflow your senses. "Oh, um. . . thank you."
He moved to set it down on the nightstand, turning back to you. "Why haven't you changed yet?"
"I—uh—I just—" You looked down at your florally dress, eyes flitting back up to meet his. "I couldn't decide what to wear," you lied.
Steve watched your eyes flick to the side, your hands playing with the fabric of the skirt of your dress. He smiled, stepping close to you and hooking his finger under your chin to tilt your head up. "Why don't we go find something, huh? Come on."
He wrapped his hand around yours and guided you to the dresser, opening up a drawer. He started to shuffle through the clothing. "Let's see. . . how 'bout this, sweetheart?"
He pulled out a little black silk slip-on, holding it up by the straps. Your jaw dropped, completely appalled as tears quickly began to well in your eyes in panic. You had just started to stutter out an answer when Steve chuckled.
"I'm just kidding, sweetie, relax."
Your stomach flipped as you watched him smile—a genuine smile that split his lips and showed off his pearly white teeth. You blinked, stunned, taking in the smile lines in the corner of his eyes and the barely-there dimples on his cheeks.
"How 'bout this one?"
He showed off a modest nightgown with strings laced up the neckline, doily lace trimming the hem of the collar and the skirt and pink bows decorating the fabric. You scowled, barely stopping a grimace from spreading across your lips. Steve caught it anyway, huffing out a laugh.
"Not that one either, huh? Okay. . . . What about this one?"
He pulled out a sleeveless silk sleep-dress with lace tracing the neckline and the straps. The color of the silk reminded you of something a newly wed would wear on her wedding night, that off-white ivory that many women dreamed of. Knowing that was probably the simplest nightgown you had, you let out a sigh, your shoulders dropping.
"That one works," you told him.
Steve beamed, his eyes sparkling as he shut the dresser drawer, handing you the nightdress. "Alright then, go ahead and get changed."
You nodded, giving him a small smile back as you went to turn. He caught your arm, his grip firm yet gentle. "Where ya goin'?"
You frowned at him. "The . . . bathroom? To change?"
His grip on your arm tightened for only a second, enough to send a shudder down your spine. You bit the inside of your cheek to try to steel yourself, hoping you didn't look like a dog with its tail between its legs.
"You don't need to go to the bathroom to change, doll. You can do it right here."
"But—"
"Now, sweetheart. I won't ask again."
You nodded, shuffling the sweater off your shoulders. You ducked your head, your hands wringing the sweater tightly. "Could you—um—could turn around, at least? Please?"
Steve sighed and you dropped your gaze. "Fine. But you're gonna have to learn to get used to Buck and me eventually."
You nodded and watched as he turned, thanking him. You were quick to unzip the dress and let it pool at your feet. You struggled to unclasp the bra, grunting in annoyance when it wouldn't come undone.
"You need some help, sweetheart?" Steve taunted. You could practically hear the smirk in his voice.
"No."
You decided to just slide the straps off your arms and shuck the bra down your body until you were able to step out of it, dropping it on the floor and pulling the nightgown over your head. It was shorter than you anticipated, the hem reaching mid-thigh instead of your knees.
"Okay, you can turn around."
Steve took two steps and he was facing you again, smirking down at you.
"You should drink your hot chocolate before it gets cold," he said.
"Oh, uh—right." You sat on the edge of the bed, wrapping your fingers around the mug before you took a small sip. Steve watched you intently, the corner of his lips twitching into a smirk. "So —um. . . where's Sergeant Barnes?"
"He's finishing the dishes," Steve told you. "Should be down here soon. Why, you miss him already?"
You felt your cheeks heat up, your fingers tapping against the ceramic of the mug as you sputtered out your answer. "N-no, it—it's not—I was just curious, is all."
Steve chuckled. You swallowed nervously, taking a prolonged sip from your mug—mainly as an excuse to avert your eyes from Steve's gaze. You kept silent, focusing on the warmth that flooded your chest every time you took a sip of your hot chocolate. You blinked lazily, your body feeling heavier. Steve sat down next to you, and as you turned your gaze you realized for the first time he had changed. Before, he was wearing trousers and a button-up shirt. Now, though, he's in sweatpants and a plain white shirt.
"Bucky thinks you'd like a record player down here," he said, "something so it isn't so quiet. We could get you some cd's, some records. Does that sound good?"
Not how does that sound? or would you like that? But does that sound good? He wasn't giving you any other option but to comply. To be okay with his decision. You blinked again, finding it harder to open your eyes this time as you nodded, muttering a soft, "yeah."
Steve smiled, leaning down to press a kiss to your temple. You jumped, spine going rigid as you felt his lips split into a grin against your skin.
"You're too cute, babydoll."
You swallowed, sucking in a shaky breath, bringing the near-empty mug to your lips. You couldn't tell if it was the trembling in your arms or if your hands were really shaking, but you gripped the ceramic tighter so you wouldn't drop it. You had never been called that before. Babydoll. You always hoped you would have a partner who would call you by that pet name, but the few boys you dated in high school and freshman year of college were. . . shallow. Your second boyfriend hardly ever told you he loved you. But—even still—you never thought the first time someone would call you that would be a situation as fucked up like this one.
The loud click of the lock broke you from your thoughts, the solid steel door opening slowly. Bucky Barnes stepped in, shutting the door behind him, smiling at you as you heard the dreaded lock click again.
"Hey, doll," he greeted. He ran his flesh hand through his cropped hair, smiling down at you as he crossed over to you and Steve.
You honestly couldn't tell if you acknowledged him or not. Your vision was clouding and your eyelids felt heavy like you could fall asleep in a second if the two men would let you.
"She drink her hot chocolate?" you heard Bucky ask.
"Practically chugged it," Steve answered. You frowned, not understanding their words. You looked down at your empty mug precariously, your brow furrowed as you tried to look for something obvious. Like a roach.
You shivered as Bucky took the mug from you, his fingers ghosting over yours and he smiled. You shuddered again, goosebumps rising upon your skin when Steve started combing his hand through your hair.
"What's the matter, baby?" Bucky asked. "You cold?"
It took you a moment to answer, your eyelids closed, as you mumbled out a soft, "yeah."
You felt Bucky's hovering presence leave for only a moment before it returned; you cracked your eye open to see him holding out a cardigan sweater.
"Go on."
You took it with a soft 'thank you,' and pulled the woven wool over your shoulders. It was so soft against your skin, you hugged your arms around your body as the plush fuzz tickled your bare arms, letting out a sigh. Your head started to droop after you closed your eyes and Steve had to nudge your chin up with his finger. You heard him chuckle.
"I think that's our queue to go to bed," he said. Your world was spinning then, as two hands came under the crooks of your shoulders and lifting you. You let out a lazy yelp as Bucky plopped you down on the center of the bed. You bounced on the mattress a few times before you settled, your eyes falling on Steve as he pulled his shirt over his head.
"Wha. . .wha're ya doin'?" you slurred, heart racing as you felt the bed dip.
"We're goin' to bed, baby," Bucky said like it was obvious, crawling into the bed beside you. You frowned at him, your mind foggy as you tried to wrap your brain around what was happening.
"I. . . no—I don't want—"
Steve shushed you, climbing into bed on the other side of you. His hand pressed against your chest, the width from his thumb to his pinky finger spanning across your entire front as he pushed you back with little effort. Your back landed on the plush mattress with a soft 'oof'. "You're just tired, sweetheart," he smiled. "Go to sleep."
You couldn't fight it. Their body heat engulfed you like a typhoon engulfing the mainland; it was overwhelming. You were imprisoned between the two supersoldiers and being forced into a slumber so violently it was like you were being smothered with a pillow. You let out a breathy whine as Bucky wrapped an arm around your torso.
"Hush, doll," Bucky cooed. "You're okay. Just close your eyes."
You fought some more, sluggishly flailing your arm and trying to bat away hands until Bucky had pinned you down, hugging your body flush to his. He crooned your name softly against your ear, his hot breath sending a violent shiver down your spine.
"You're alright, baby," he hushed. "Just relax, Stevie and I are right here. Just go to sleep, princess."
You didn't know if it was the drug or the cozy heat that radiated off of the supersoldiers—maybe it was both—but you drifted off soon after, your body feeling like maple syrup was running through your veins. Steve and Bucky watched as you settled down, your shoulders dropping as your breathing evened out.
"Is she asleep?" Bucky asked softly, lifting his head to look at Steve.
"Yeah, she passed out quick, I might've put too much of the sedative in her drink." Steve was on his side, arm under his pillow as he looked down at the girl curled against his chest.
"I told you, she isn't very big—half a dose would've done the job just fine."
"I just want her to be comfortable," Steve pouted, letting out a sigh. "She was so scared earlier. I just wanna show her she doesn't have'ta be afraid."
"It'll just take some time, Stevie," Bucky told him. "Soon enough, she'll see that this is what's best for her, I promise."
"Yeah." Steve paired with your hair, listening to your soft snores as silence filled the room.
Steve agreed with Bucky—it was too quiet down there. Apart from your small breaths, Steve could only hear the quiet buzz of silence. He thought about records he and Bucky could get you; you liked soft music—acoustic and folk/indie. You really liked an artist named Taylor Swift. Steve tried to ask Bucky if he knew who she was, but he didn't, so Steve ended up downloading her entire discography onto his phone—with Sam's help, who refuses to leave him alone about it. Steve actually liked a lot of her songs; he thought they suited you.
"Do you think it's too dark in here?" Bucky's low voice seemed to echo throughout the silent room.
Steve had been thinking the same thing. There was only a little night light plugged into the bathroom, so you had a little bit of guidance, but they'd have to get you another—maybe in the other room, if they got one bright enough. You were used to the city noise, the light seeping through the cracks of your blinds.
"Yeah," Steve whispered back. "We could get her another nightlight?"
Bucky hummed in response. "Maybe something that sits on her nightstand? It'd be a little brighter than a plug-in."
"Yeah, we'll look for something in the morning."
They stayed quiet for a while, both supersoldiers admiring you while you slept soundly between them. Steve ran his fingers through your hair while Bucky's traced shapes over your bare thigh under the blankets.
"This is perfect, Stevie," Bucky smiled, breaking the silence, reaching over you to grab Steve's hand.
Steve lulled in agreement, still watching the way your chest rose softly with your quiet breaths. "We waited so long for this, Buck, to have her here. She's gonna learn to love us, We just need to be patient."
"I just. . . she's right here, Steve. We're holding her and all I wanna do is fuck her until she can't think—but she's so scared. I don't wanna scare her."
"I know," Steve sighed. "But soon we won't have to control ourselves, she'll be begging for us soon enough."
Bucky had to stifle a groan just thinking about it — about how your little voice would sound begging for his cock, begging him to fuck you silly.
You shuffled between the two of them, letting out the smallest grunt as you readjusted. Bucky gripped your hip to still you, his thumb rubbing small circles into the divot of your hip. You stopped squirming, letting out a small huff before you relaxed.
"She's restless," Bucky noted quietly like he was talking to himself.
"Side effect of the sedative," Steve said. "We'll have to play around with the dosage. Maybe try half a dose tomorrow night, see if even that's too much."
Bucky nodded. "She'll need to eat more tomorrow, too. What she ate at dinner wasn't nearly enough."
"She had a big day," Steve countered. "She was hungover, for one. And she was a little shell-shocked, poor baby couldn't wrap her pretty head around all this."
Bucky huffed out a laugh as Steve grinned.
"I love you, Stevie."
"I love you too, Buck."
--
Your body protested the first time you woke up. Your senses were fuzzy, only half awake as you protested with a high pitched whine, curling in on yourself. You were so warm, so comfortable, it was lulling you back to sleep as you were struggling to wake.
"Shh, babygirl." There was a hand carding through your hair, drifting you back into slumber. "It's alright, go back to sleep."
You were too tired to actually comprehend the voice, or the hands in your hair and on your hip, running up and down your waist. You were too lagged to feel the two bodies crowding you between them, trapping you between their heat.
You drifted off again just as you felt the lingering touch of lips on your cheek.
The second time you awoke, you were much colder. Maybe that's why it was easier to open your eyes. It was pitch black in your room and for a moment you worried it was still the middle of the night—until you felt the bedsheets. It wasn't nighttime, there just weren't any windows in your prison. It could be noon and you wouldn't be able to tell.
You forced yourself into a sitting position, groaning when your head started to throb so violently you thought it was going to explode. You leaned forward to search for the edge of the bed, yelping as your hand never touched the mattress and you went toppling off the edge. You landed on the floor with a dull 'thump', pulling the covers down with you. You weren't able to catch yourself in time before your head smacked onto the floor.
"Fuck. . . ." you whimpered, shakingly bringing a hand up to your forehead. The lights flipped on, and two pairs of hands were on in less than a second.
"What happened, doll? Are you okay?" It was Bucky. His hands rested on your forearms as he pulled you up, cradling you to his chest. Steve's fingers grazed the bump that had started to form along your hairline and you winced, trying to escape the pain that jolted through your head. "C'mon babydoll, use your words."
"She hit her head," Steve said gently.
"M'fell," you grumbled, clutching at your temples.
"Why don't you let Stevie look at it, princess?" Bucky coaxed, hooking his finger under your chin and turning you to face Steve. You let out a high pitched whine in protest as you were forced out of the darkness the crook of Bucky's arm provided, your eyes closed as your head throbbed in the light. Bucky shushed you, his fingers running through your hair gingerly.
"She might have a concussion," Steve mumbled to himself, his thumb just barely grazing the contusion. "Nothing major."
You grumbled out a garbled response and burrowed your face back into the crook of Bucky's arm.
"No, baby, I need you to look at me."
When you refused to move your head, Bucky kissed your hair, whispering to you, "C'mon, precious. All you gotta do is look at Stevie for a little bit, then we'll turn the lights back off. Can you do that for us?"
You were quiet for a moment before you looked back up at Steve, cracking your eyes open. He smiled at you, sneaking a quick look at Bucky before he returned his focus to you. He holds his pointer finger up in front of your face and tells you to follow it with your eyes. He glided his finger to the left first, and your gaze followed until the appendix left your vision. He did the same thing to the right side. Your head was pulsating under your skull and you had to close your eyes, squeezing the bridge off your nose to alleviate some of the pressure.
"She has a small concussion," Steve confirmed. "We'll just have to keep an eye on it. Nothing else we can do about it."
"Get off me," you scowled, shoving yourself out of Bucky's lap. You were shaky as you stood, tripping over yourself before you found your balance.
"We're just making sure you're okay, doll." Bucky grabbed Steve's hand to keep him from shouting at you.
"You're the reason I fell in the first place," you grumbled, scoffing as you rubbed your temples. They were the ones who brought you to this basement, it was their fault you couldn't find the edge of the bed when it was so god damn dark.
"What'd you say, sweetheart?"
"Let it go, Steve," Bucky pleaded. Steve didn't listen.
You didn't have time to even blink before he was on you, hand gripping your jaw tightly and shoving you against the wall.
You winced when the back of your head collided with the wall, his fingers digging into your jawline.
"You wanna try that again, sweetheart?" he scowled.
A whimper escaped your lips, your small fingers wrapping around his large wrist.
"St—stop."
"Last chance, Sweetheart."
"I'm sorry," you squeaked. "I—I didn't mean it. . . I'm sorry."
Steve closed his eyes, inhaling like he was physically restraining himself, and stepped back. He let go of you and you gasped for breath, doubling over and wheezing.
"I'm not gonna tell you again," Steve glowered. "We won't tolerate your attitude. That was your last warning."
You nodded furiously, tears welling in your eyes and streaming down your cheeks.
"Get dressed," Steve ordered, motioning for Bucky to stand up. "We'll be back down with breakfast in a few minutes."

❥ 𝐍𝐂𝐓 𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 – you asking them to pick a color to dye your hair.
⌜ mark ⌟
big doe eyes. i feel like mark would be ecstatic but also terrified, since he has a habit of playing with your hair and he loves it when your shampoo scented hair tickles his nose everytime you cuddle. he would reccomend to pick out a cute hair color, probably something like cool tone browns, to make sure your scalp doesn't get ruined in one sitting.
"you are not getting bright blue." he gestures to his own head of hair, some strands sticking out while others plastered on his dry scalp. "look at what it did to mine."
mark would love to spend his whole day with you at the hair salon, blushing whenever an old lady tells him he's handsome or cute, and endlessly tells you that you look pretty by the time you're done.
⌜ renjun ⌟
i think renjun be would quiet and composed. not even giving you his hair color choice, stating, "it's your hair! why should i choose the color?" watches the whole process of you picking out colors, being a gentleman and telling you that every color would look good on you.
"why not go for pink?" he winks, joking and pointing at his own hair while he wiggles his eyebrows. "we can match!"
surprised pikachu face when he sees you come out with a head of baby pink hair and a cherry hair band resting on top. getting even more surprised when you tell him you're going to match him every single time.
⌜ jeno ⌟
would be really calm and collected when he blurts out "purple." and only starts to panic when you panic first. laughs and tells you that a darker shade of purple at the tips of your hair wouldn't require bleaching and that it wouldn't hurt. holds your hand and doesn't let go the whole time at the salon, eye smiling when you finish and takes you on an ice cream date right after.
"you keep looking at me." you raise your eyebrows at jeno, the cone still in your right hand as your other is intertwined with jeno's. "is there something on my face?"
"beauty."
cue you choking on your chocolate chip ice cream and an awkwardly silent ride back home.
⌜ haechan ⌟
would whine when you pull him out of the dorm in the middle of his game. "but why!?" he whines, "i was about to beat chenle!"
sulks and pouts the whole time you're deciding on colors, rolling his eyes and saying "no" to every color you choose, making you roll your eyes in return. playing games on his phone the whole time, waiting for you to finish with an impatient tap of his foot.
"you take longer than jaemin to finish." he whines, eyes still focused on his phone screen. "seriously, what is it with women and-"
let's just say he couldn't get his hands out of your hair for the entire week nor could he get out of your silent treatment the following day.
⌜ jaemin ⌟
when a wide cheshire grin spreads on his lips, it makes you feel afraid for your scalp. jaemin would definitely reccomend bolder, more light colors like blonde, white, or pink. he takes you shopping first, spoiling you with matching couple earrings and necklaces before going to a chic cafe to have lunch and take photos.
"nana," you whine, "i'm just getting my hair done, we don't have too take that many pictures."
"exactly, we're getting your hair done!" he pouts, his fingers pressing the button of his polaroid camera. "we need to remember this day."
the same grin is on his face by the time he picks you up at the salon, his hands already twirling and burying themselves in your newly dyed blonde hair.
⌜ chenle ⌟
i think chenle would be similar with haechan, a bit whiny and pouty that you interrupted his gaming session. the difference is, he's pumped up the moment you say you'd let him choose the color. would pout when you reject his ridiculous idea of highlighter yellow, pouting even more when you finally dye your hair to a light strawberry blonde. he secretly loves it
"chenle, i don't want to go bald before i'm at least 90!"
"but isn't your hair thinning out already, anyway?"
immediately shuts up when you threaten to throw his game console and him out the window.
⌜ jisung ⌟
i think jisung would be a little more cautios about it, like mark. he would spend days on pinterest, scrolling through hair colors and typing them down or saving them everytime he finds a cute one. would even ask his hair stylist and the whole nct dream members before deciding to choose dark blue for you.
he spends the whole day helping you, searching through google on how to bleach and dye your hair. because for the love of god, even after having his bleached so many times, he still can't remember how. almost cries at one point when the bleach slightly burns your scalp, sniffling more than you do.
blushes and giggles because you reward him with kisses and cuddles for being the best boyfriend. "you look really pretty." jisung's still hiding in the crook of your neck, your newly dyed hair slightly tickling him. "maybe we can match our hair colors one day!"

Trigger/content warnings: Alcohol, bar setting, angst, implied car sex
Spoilers: Lead
Evocations: XX
Olivia stood in the shadows near the entrance of the bar, taking the opportunity that the last few days of working hadn't afforded. Across the room sat Alexandra, downing lime cocktails; the blonde that, until the afternoon three days prior, she hadn't laid eyes on in four years.
"I wasn't drafted. Jack asked me."
She supposed that she should be angry that it had taken three years and Jack McCoy to get Alexandra to show her face again. But as she stood taking her in, the only thing she felt was a deep sense of relief.
"That was a great thing you did," Olivia said when she stepped up next to the ADA.
"You mean pull my head out of my ass?" Cabot quipped, tipping ice into her mouth.
"Oh, c'mon now," Liv smirked, sliding onto the seat next to her, "you must've known your whole high-powered Bureau Chief thing was never going to fly down here in the gutters with the riffraff."
"I had time to get used to the easy win over the moral high ground," Alex agreed. "Drink?"
"Can't," the brunette shrugged, curling dark hair behind one ear, "I'm driving."
"Since when do you rent in the city?"
"It's not a rental; I own it."
Alexandra's eyes widened around the crunch of ice between her teeth. "You bought a vehicle?"
Liv nodded, her gaze sliding to the countertop as Alex motioned for another drink. "You didn't call," she said quietly, swallowing against her rising emotions.
A blink would've missed the miniscule wince that flickered across Alexandra's face. She cleared her throat. "It wasn't personal," was her answer, "I haven't spoken to anyone . . . from before."
Before, and after. No matter what happened since or going forward, those were the two books that everything was measured against, for Alex.
Olivia took an unsteady breath. "Not personal. Alex - "
"Olivia," Alex interrupted, "please don't."
Liv's eyes filled with tears of which she was immediately ashamed. "So that's just it, then?"
"We have to work together."
"Oh." The brunette's gaze sharpened. She nodded curtly. "You're right." She stood abruptly, and walked away in the same direction she had approached from.
The spot where she had parked the convertible was dark, and the lot big and empty as Olivia crossed it, digging in the pocket of her jacket for the keys. She was still only halfway to the car when her ears pricked at the sound of a second set of hurried steps behind her. All her muscles tightened as she strangled the keys in her hand and closed the last distance.
Alexandra stopped short about ten feet from the driver's door and let out a low whistle. "When you do something, you really do something," she commented of the vehicle.
Turning to face the blonde again, Liv crossed her arms over her chest and didn't respond. The cool night wind ruffled the blouse just inside the ADA's jacket as she sighed and looked skyward above the rim of her dark glasses.
"What do you want me to say, Liv?"
"You could have at least told me you were out of the program."
"I didn't talk about it with anyone! I came back and started again as if it was just another move in the program. Jesus! I was engaged over a year and even they didn't know anything about Valez and Connors!"
The more Alexandra tried to explain, the more nauseous Liv got. At the idea of her being engaged to someone else, Olivia lurched unsteadily and tried with bleary vision to find the key that would unlock the car. As Liv turned to slot the key in the lock, Alex strode forward and slammed her hand onto the shiny black chrome door, her body pushing into the brunette's space.
"Don't you get it, Liv?! I'm not the same person that I was!"
"The hell you're not," Olivia hissed, and bit her lip that dared to tremble.
"I'm not! Six and a half years I spent on the run, leaving half-lived lives in my wake! I still never feel safe or grounded anywhere. I drop people, jobs - everything - at a moment's notice. That's not what I originally promised you. That's not what you deserve."
"Your engagement?" Liv asked quietly.
"I ended it."
"The job you took for Jack?"
"I only agreed because he said it would be temporary."
Olivia's breathing was thin and ragged. "So if he hadn't asked . . you were just never going to see me again? Never going to pick up the phone and call?"
Alexandra closed her eyes, stilled in the night air. The scent of Liv's shampoo was just under her nose; the bodyheat of her anxiety thrumming just warm enough that the blonde could feel it filling the space between them.
This time when she spoke, her voice betrayed her and broke. "I don't know. Forever is so long. Six years hasn't changed the fact that all I really want is to fuck you on the hood of this sinfully hot car."
Liv sniffed and chuckled. "I don't know if Dolly would approve."
"Dolly?"
"The car."
"Mm. I should have guessed," Alex nodded knowingly and then turned her head just enough to press her lips to the feverish skin of Olivia's neck. "How does this thing do on the open road?" she rumbled.
Liv pressed back into Alex's kiss and murmured, "Tell me where you want to go, Counselor."
.
.
The rhythm of the waves hitting the shore of Fort Tilden beach was calming. The sound snuck softly into the backseat of the convertible parked on the shoulder of a sandy dune covered in scrub grasses. Across the back seat, Alex and Olivia spooned nude, under a blanket made of their jackets.
Both women were soothed, somewhat, now that they had claimed one another's bodies again; proving to themselves and one another that time couldn't take everything from them.
Liv curled her fingers tighter against the fingers of Alexandra's hand around her own and brought them closer to her mouth. "How many other women have you loved, in your six years?" she asked quietly.
The blonde pressed her warm body into Liv's and rested her chin at her shoulder so that her mouth when she spoke was just above Liv's ear.
"None," she said simply.
Liv turned, struggling to see Alex's face, her brown eyes wide.
"That surprises you?" Alex smiled, "Why? Men are easy, if all I need is sex. I don't pursue women unless I want emotion - and I haven't had the space for that in six years."
Olivia took a breath that reached all the way to the bottom of her lungs and felt something deep inside her loosen in selfish, strange relief.
"What about you?" Alex turned the question back curiously. "Have you bedded yourself a team of blondes in my long absence?"
"Don't be ridiculous," Liv chuckled, wrinkling her nose.
"Mm - I didn't really think so, although ..."
"What?"
"I often wondered if I would come back and find you and Elliot married with a few of those little Catholic children he's so fond of," she admitted.
Another strange alcove in the hidden parts of Olivia startled and throbbed at Alex's words, but the brunette wasn't about to trot out her feelings on the subject.
They wouldn't run away together. They would likely never have the life they had originally intended to share together. But they had whatever it was between them that made it easy to reconnect. They had this intimacy that compelled them into each others' depths.
Liv listened to the ocean crash and turned beneath Alex, taking one of her hands and pushing it over the rise of her pelvis invitingly. "Again," she murmured, licking a short warm line with her tongue over the salt-sweet skin of the blonde's neck.
With a contented sigh, Alex moved her fingers lightly and kissed Liv's mouth.
"Yes," she assented.

Ficmas Day 1: One More Sleep [Tenya Iida]
Pairing: ProHero!Tenya Iida x Fem!Reader
Song: One More Sleep by Leona Lewis
Word Count: 5.4k
A/N: I tried to get this done a few days ago, but I was just so tired 😭 Anyway, I hope that you guys like it!
~
Tenya rubbed his eyes groggily, staring at the ceiling. He rolled over to look at the clock on the nightstand. 3:43 AM. How frustrated he was by this. He should've been asleep hours ago. He sat up, deciding it was no good. Sleep wouldn't come, not until you were here by his side.
He checked his phone for the date. December 21th. Four. More. Days. Five more grueling, restless nights. Tenya figured he should've been used to this. Spending time apart. Your relationship had been that way since the beginning. You traveled for work while he stayed put. Doing the hero gig he'd always dreamed of.
But now - so close to Christmas - it was impossible to think of anything else but you. Here. In the bed you'd spend nearly a year deciding on because he insisted you had to look at all the options first. Your side was barely worn. It made his heart ache in ways he was too stubborn to admit.
Tenya wondered if it's be too cruel to ask you to stop. To stop traveling. To stay put, just for a little while. No more calling at wild hours. No more flickering signals or long distance fees. Just you and him. Together in the home that you'd bought. The place you made love and fought and kissed endlessly to make up for lost time.
But when was enough, enough?
He swung his feet out of bed, put on his glasses, and slid on his slippers. A blue bathrobe hung from the best post. It was one you'd bought him last year from somewhere over seas. You had said it reminded you of his eyes. Apparently you'd worn it considerably before gifting it. It was drenched in your scent by the time it reached his hands. The collar smelled like your shampoo, the rest of smelling of your favourite spray. You'd bashfully admitted you wore it because you missed him. And this one little thing made you feel closer.
Your smell had been washed from it by now. But he silently wished it was still there as he put it on. He only flicked on a few lights as he made his way to the kitchen. A warm cup of tea on a cold, snowy night sounded wonderful. Tenya looked out at the piling snow as he waited for the water to boil.
He worried your flight would get delayed. Or worse – it'd be put off until after the storm passed. Sure, he'd video chatted you early that evening. But he felt like he'd die if he had to wait even a single day more than he already had to. He ran a hand through his hair. What a funny thing love was.
Tenya had never expected you to come into his life. He never really expected to share love with anyone. It was just another thing his brother talked sweetly of. Telling him, “Tenya, you'll know when she's the one.” Tenya breathed his brother's every word like gospel.
Except for that one.
What had Tensei meant by you'll know – it wasn't very informative. It didn't help too much. It only kept him guessing as he passed attractive women. Until Tenya found you. It wasn't love at first sight. Not entirely. But the first words he thought when he saw your face? I just found my wife.
It had been such a nauseating, powerful experience. One little glance as you said 'hello' from your new spot at a desk in his agency. Tenya had rushed away, and left out the back so he wouldn't have to pass you again.
It was the single most powerful moment in his life.
Many things had changed over the years. You were one of those earth shattering experiences for him. Breaking open the egg that was the world. Showing him more than he would've thought possible. Four years ago, that thought that he'd fall in love with a stranger and get married to them just two years after would've seemed ridiculous. But here you two were.
You worked as a travel writer. Going to exotic places. Trying new things. Meeting new people. While Tenya was living his dream. Fulfilling his brother's legacy as Ingenium. He never thought being alone could feel so hollow and bitter and cold. He'd never really felt lonely when he was alone, until you two made a home together. Tenya worried that home was too boring for you. Surely it had to be after seeing so much of the world. It gnawed at him. No matter how much reassurance you gave him that coming back home to him was always the best part of the trip.
Tenya contemplated his tea as he poured in the water. Watching as a deep red color soaked out from the leaves. Only four more days, he kept reminding himself. Five more nights, and she'll be with you. But the mantra didn't help at all.
Tenya went to his reading chair by the window. Yours was next to his, a table separating them. Your side was stacked with books. Even your chair had a few on it. Bookmarks spouted from a few. Tenya was sure you'd never finish them. But watching you try was endearing nonetheless. Your wedding picture sat on the table, along with a vase of your favourite flowers. He went every day to get one while you were away.
He counted twenty three. Twenty three flowers. Twenty three days apart. But only four more until you were back in his arms. Until he could kiss you and hold you. Feel your warm skin against his own. They'd made you stay longer, so you'd have writing material through the first of the year. Didn't they know you had a husband and a dog to get back home to?
That picture encapsulated the best day of his life. A face splitting grin on his own. You wore a goofy smile because he'd made you laugh. Tenya cried when he saw you come down the aisle. Though he desperately tried to hide them. You teased him later about that. He simply covered you with kisses.
A small lump formed in Tenya's throat as he watched your dog slump sadly down onto the floor in front of your chair. He rolled his eyes up at Tenya and whined, his tail wagging only once. Things just weren't the same with you away. Tenya blew on his tea with a sigh.
“I know boy, I miss her, too,” he said softly. Then took a sip. The hot tea did nothing to warm the cold that settled in him.
Only four. More. Days.
Tenya didn't sleep much after that. Dozing on the couch until the morning light woke him up. He was very stiff and chilled to the bone. Like someone had left a window open. Tenya searched the house, simply pushing the heater up when he found no cause for alarm.
Tenya was very surprised as he let the dog out. The snow was ludicrously high. Five feet, give or take. He was willing to say give. Your poor pooch could barely get down to use the bathroom. Tenya just knew he was going to have to shovel a path for him.
Was his ideal morning bundled up and shoveling snow? He was fairly sure that no body's was. But he diligently donned his his coat, hat, scarves, gloves, and snow boots. Being a good dog father and shoveling a path down into the yard.
Tenya chuckled at the thought of you out here last year in the snow. A hair dry plugged into the side of the house. He yelled at you about the hazard, trying to argue that a hair dryer was not the most efficient way the clear snow. You started a snow ball fight after that. You'd both gone in drenched, and took a nice, hot, steamy shower together. His body tingled warmly at the thought, his face (and quite a few other places) feeling hot.
After shoveling, it was shower time. Then he made himself and the dog breakfast (yes, he makes the dog's food because he is a very good doggy daddy). After was time to tend to all the chores he'd been putting off in the wake of his depression. This included wrapping your gifts. Tenya knew you'd be home for Christmas, but it'd been too painful to wrap them before. Between his loneliness and the excitement that bubbled in him at the thought of you coming home in a few days, he felt numb but jittery. One canceling the other out.
And there was still so much to do.
Ochaco and Izuku had accidentally, inadvertently invited themselves over for Christmas. They wanted to throw a party. And somehow Tenya had gotten wrapped up in it all. He hadn't been able to get a hold of you to try and talk them down. So he did the responsible thing and said he'd take care of it all. They gushed about what to bring and who to invite, he just had to take care of the house and making sure everything was perfect. He supposed this was a sort of coming home celebration for you, so it didn't annoy him quite as much.
Tenya measured the dimensions each and every package he wrapped. Then he measured the wrapping paper. The process was tedious, but it ensured every piece of paper was used to the fullest. He pulled off the smallest pieces of tape that he possibly could, so he didn't waste the roll. Honestly, Tenya thought of how you might react as you opened them all. The excitement, the embarrassment, the sheer happiness that he wanted so much to bring you. He'd gone overboard, sure. But you were worth every penny. And all the burnt fingers. The thing he'd tried to make you did not go as well as he wanted. But Tenya just knew you were going to love it.
After wrapping, he figured having a nice tree to put them under would help. He'd only gone out and bought one. Nothing was decorated. That was something you two usually did together. There wasn't a tinkle of a light anywhere to be seen. Though he knew Ochaco and Izuku expected the place to look as warm and cozy as it always did this time of year.
The decorations were stored in a closet under the stairs. You had made it a giant Janga tower. Honestly, Tenya was a little scared to pull everything out. If he was crushed to death by decorations, no body would know for days. He studied your tower for a while. Thinking about when you'd put them in. You had struggled tremendously. He'd just chuckled. Tenya always thought everything you did was endearing. In it's own sort of way. In the love touched way.
When Tenya was sure nothing was going to fall, he started to pull things out and organize them into piles. Garland, ornaments, outside lights, indoor lights, the tree angel, upstairs decorations, table runners, stockings – he sprinted through the house as he sorted. He planned to start upstairs, then work his way down.
By the time he finished the upstairs it was early evening. He'd missed lunch, stopping only briefly to feed the dog. Now it was dinner time. He had no gumption to cook, though. So he heated up leftovers and sat at the table. Tenya stared at your empty chair as he ate. It was made up with a place mat, and a book, and your favourite mug.
Three more days.
It surprised him in the morning when there was a ring at the doorbell. Tenya had been up, working slowly at things around the house. He wasn't planning on company. Nor for Ochaco and Izuku to be standing behind the door. They had their own bags and piles of things in their arms. They grinned widely at him.
“What a surprise,” Tenya said, then moved aside. “Come in out of the snow. I hope the roads weren't too bad.”
They nodded and ducked in. “Thanks!”
“Most of the snow is melted already,” Ochaco pouted. “Izuku and I built a snowman yesterday, but he was just a pile of mush things morning!”
Izuku looked around, clearly surprised by the bare walls and shelves and tree. “Tenya, you haven't started decorating yet?”
Tenya looked away ashamedly. Eyes wandering on their own to a picture of you. His guests' eyes followed. Ochaco's grin dropped.
“Oh,” she said, putting her stuff down. “You're probably waiting for [Name], right?”
“Tenya, if you didn't want to have the party, you could've said something,” Izuku insisted.
Tenya had tried to tell them he didn't want to throw the party. Not at his house anyway. But they were so excited that they didn't listen. “It's fine. [Name] is coming home on Christmas. It'll be nice to have everyone here to welcome her back. I've just been putting it off. I didn't want to decorate alone.”
Ochaco hugged him tightly. “I'm sorry, Tenya. We're here to help!”
“Yeah!” Izuku looked disproportionately determined for the task. But Tenya was glad that his friend was as enthusiastic as ever. He needed the energy boost. “We're going to make it amazing for when [Name] comes home! You have nothing to worry about.”
The pair ran off, doing what, Tenya didn't know. But he sure was glad to have friends like them. They helped him finish decorating downstairs. And he made them lunch. Soon everything was dripping with sparkling lights and garlands and glitter. Three stockings hung on hooks that suctioned to the wall, one for you, one for Tenya, and one for the dog. He hoped to add more stockings in the near future. But how was that going to happen when you were barely home together long enough?
Ochaco and Izuku treated Iida to dinner that evening. Taking him to a restaurant down the way. They chatted quietly, mostly going over holiday plans.
“We're going to my parents' on Christmas Eve,” Ochaco noted, looking over the menu. “Then Deku's mom and All Might are coming with us to the party Christmas day. I hope you don't mind.”
Tenya shook his head. “No, it'll be nice to see them.”
“Are you doing anything Christmas Eve? You could always come with us,” offered Izuku.
“I'm going to my parents house. Tensei and his wife will be there.”
Ochaco's eyes lit up. “I didn't know he got married!”
“Not too long before I did. She's a lovely woman, and takes very good care of my brother. We're all very grateful to her.” Tensei smiled lightly, thinking about his brother's wedding. It'd been a very beautiful ceremony with many tears. He was best man, and dreaming about the day he was going to propose to you.
They ate and talked and laughed. For just a little while, Tenya felt like himself. Izuku and Ochaco walked him back home. It was dark now, and cold bit through their coats.
“Oh, before we go – I have invites for you to pass out at your agency.” Ochaco produced a stack of envelopes from her pocket. “Could you give them out next time you go in?”
“I managed to get a few days off to prepare for [Name]'s arrival, but I can run them in tomorrow,” Tenya said, taking the stack.
“Let us know when you're back,” said Izuku. “We'll help you decorate the outside.”
Tenya shook his head. “You've already done so much, I couldn't ask for more.”
“It's really no problem. We don't mind helping.”
“Very well, then.” Tenya nodded. “I'll see you tomorrow.”
As Tenya shut himself in for the night he sighed, leaning his head back against the door.
Just two more days.
Tenya set off bright and early the next morning. The air was still frosty and the sky looked like it wanted to flood the ground with more white. He was going to try and make this trip quick. He'd been getting increasingly pitying looks. He didn't want to hang around long, to see their eyes boring holes in him.
He hesitated at the doors, watching as his breath floated up to the sky. Even with gloves on, it felt like the cold seeped through from the door handle. Tenya didn't bother going to his office. He stopped at the front desk. The woman there smiled up at him.
“Good morning, Mr. Ingenium,” she greeted. “How can I help you?”
“I need you to distribute these to all of the staff and heroes,” he said, pulling a large stack of envelopes from his coat. He'd spent the entire night trying to remember all of the staff at his agency.
“Can do.” She took the envelopes. But she didn't shift her gaze. “You look tired, sir. Are you doing okay?”
“There's a lot to do, is all. My wife will be home in a few days.” Tenya cleaned his glasses, looking for an excuse to break eye contact.
“Right,” she bit curtly. “Your wife.”
Tenya leaned on the counter, hoping to charm her with a smile. He was far too tired for this today. He was going to have to hire a new secretary sometime soon. “Izumi, it would mean a lot if you could pass these out to everyone. I'd be very grateful.”
The woman softened. “Anything you want, sir.”
He nodded. “Thank you.”
Tenya left swiftly, before he had to endure anymore one sided flirting. The distaste his secretary expressed for his wife got tiresome. Along with her not-so-subtle hints for him to have an affair with her. He had more important things to worry about. Like making sure you came home to a magical display.
“Izuku,” he started, phone to his ear as he walked down the road. “I just left I should be home....soon....”
“Okay Tenya!” Izuku cheered from the other side. Then there was a long pause. “Tenya?”
But the man was distracted by the window he was passing. “I'll call you back when I get to the house.”
“Wait, is something wro –”
Tenya hung up, staring at the window display. It was perfect. It was just what he was looking for to top off the season. You were going to love it. He rushed in, demanding the display in the window. He wasn't usually the type. But he was just too excited. The clerks gently packaged it, tying neat bows around the box. Tenya had to stop himself from sprinting full force down the road.
He rushed a message to Izuku when he got home. But there was no hope of sitting still for him. By the time Ochaco and Izuku got there, he'd already had half the outside decorated. He was on the roof, hooking up the lights. He waved down at them.
Ochaco floated up the rest of the boxes for the roof. Izuku nearly floated away as he tried to help finish the lights. Tenya caught him and hauled him down. It felt like they were back in UA as students with the ensuing chaos.
Tenya treated the pair to a home made dinner. They had a few drinks and some laughs. But honestly, he just wanted to chug through the next few days. Today was the twenty third. Two more days to Christmas. Two more days to you coming home.
The trio examined their handy work when the sun went down. The house glowed and twinkled. It really did look like a winter wonderland. Tenya just knew you were going to love it. He was looking forward to seeing your face as you watched the display they made.
Just a few more days.
The morning of the twenty fourth was a lazy one. He didn't want to get out of bed. Tenya wanted to lay there until the following night. When you'd be there with him. To finally warm the thorough chill that hadn't left him in days.
But eventually he pulled himself up, going to the vase in the living room.
“Twenty five,” he muttered, slipping a flower in. “Twenty six....you'll have a very big bouquet this time, [Name].”
Tenya set to breakfast. He'd lost all his fire from yesterday. He was a tired shell now. He was so sure you were going to love what he found for you. But now one, long agonizing day laid ahead of him. The house was decorated, inside and out. Presents were wrapped. The tree was ready. Filled to the brim with perfectly packaged gifts, awaiting your arrival.
Tomorrow would be the party. You'd arrive after dark, hopefully with people still around to greet you. You wouldn't have to worry about a thing. Ochaco and Izuku were going to take care of all the other little details. All of the invites read a potluck and BYOB. In the meantime, he had to wait the day out. The only thing he had to look forward to distract him was seeing his family later that evening.
Christmas morning was to be lonely. Then, by three, the house would start filling up. By eight, you should be walking up the front entrance. By 8:01, you'd be in his arms and smothered in kisses. With any luck, you'd be making love by midnight.
Tenya went out and shoveled snow again. More than two feet had fallen in the night. The more snow that fell, the more he worried the weather was going to be too rough for your plane. He needed you, sooner rather than later preferably.
The day seemed to crawl away. Only a few minutes had passed every time he glanced at the clock. Had it always been so difficult to entertain himself? He'd already showered, made lunch, brushed snow meticulously from the front porch and back deck. He uncovered all of the decorations he'd put up the day before.
He was impatient by the time he had to leave to see his family. Even the ride there drove him crazy. The road seemed to stretch. The cars squeezing from every side. Would the tedium ever cease?
As the evening with his family began, he discovered it would not. Even as he laughed with his parents and brother, as he listened to stories and shared a few. His eyes never left his watch for long. It didn't go unnoticed, but it was left unmentioned. Just a look exchanged around him.
They knew, of course. That he counted down every second until he'd see you again. The light and fire you brought into his life was wonderful to see. But how they wished you didn't leave so much.
Tenya went to bed when he got home. But sleep didn't come. Not for a very long time. He tried to force himself asleep, just a single thought leaping in his head.
One. More. Night.
A new tickle of joy danced in his chest as he realized the day. Christmas. You were going to be home. He was going to be counting down the hours until he saw you.
Tenya zipped through his morning. Shoveling the fresh few inches of snow. Hand making the dog's food for the next week. Making breakfast for himself, showering, and pulling out the outfit you'd picked over video call a week ago. Just a red sweater with stripes and snowflakes and charcoal grey slacks. He spent time cleaning, making sure every inch was dusted.
He had his fire back – until he checked his phone just after lunch.
[NAME] (Wife)
My plane is being delayed. I won't be home until tomorrow. I'm so sorry, my love, I wanted to be home for Christmas. So, very much....
Tenya felt a little bit of himself break. He slumped in his reading chair, phone discarded on the table. He stared blankly ahead of him. His worst fear had come true. One more day had turned into two. And with this snow, two could easily turn into three or four.
Ochaco and Izuku came not too long after. They knocked on the door, rang the door bell. The dog barked. Eventually they tried the handle, letting themselves in. They exchanged a worried look as they spied their friend. They could see the hollowness of his eyes.
“Tenya...?” Ochaco whispered.
“She's not coming,” he muttered numbly.
Izuku put a hand on Tenya's shoulder. “What do you mean?”
“[Name]'s flight – it's been delayed. She won't be home until tomorrow....” Tenya could barely scrap his eyes to his phone. He didn't want to look at it. To see anything else that might ruin him.
“But she'll be home, at least.”
“You don't understand. You two have each other. Tensei will be spending the holiday with his wife. And I have her. If [Name] isn't here....”
Izuku and Ochaco glanced at each other again.
“We'll still have a good time, Tenya,” Ochaco said, trying to cheer him up.
“Yeah, people will start to be here soon! You won't even know she's missing!” Then Izuku began to panic. “Not that we don't want her here. But maybe getting your mind off of her will help. Not that you shouldn't miss your wife on a holiday but –”
Tenya chuckled. At least something was normal. Izuku eased some at the sound. He and Ochaco set up the kitchen, while Tenya put away anything he didn't want broken. You never knew if someone was going to get rowdy.
As the first people showed up, the booze flooded in. Tenya had only meant to have one. But he was having a self-pity streak. One became two, two became three. Different Christmas mixes that people brought, some made right in his kitchen; homemade egg nogs, and Christmas cocktails, holiday ciders. He claimed they were just to try. Normally, he'd be following people around. Putting down coasters, ensuring that they didn't slosh on the couch, making sure no one was scuffing up the floors. But Izuku was already doing a pretty good job of that. Probably to make sure Tenya didn't have to worry. But it left him too idle.
Tenya chatted with his co-workers as they came. They complimented his house, saying they wouldn't have expected anything else from an Iida. He went around, greeting everyone. Thanking each person for coming. Each drink numbing just slightly more. He spent a good deal of time talking to Izuku's mom and All Might.
He was caught in the middle of an inescapable conversation with his insufferable secretary when Izuku came to tap him on the shoulder. His friend pointed towards the entrance to your house. Tenya's eyes followed his arm, going wide at what they found. They swept to the clock on the wall – it only read 5:23. In alarm, he triple checked what he was reading, to be sure he was right. With a puff from his quirk, Tenya launched himself.
You screamed as he tackled you. He kept you upright, making you didn't fall. Tenya smooshed your face with too many kisses to keep up with. He squeezed you tightly in his arms. You could smell the liquor on him. Since when did he drink? You hoped this wasn't the start of a bad habit.
“[Name]! You're here!” he exclaimed in disbelief. He held you at arm's length, looking you up and down just to be sure you were real.
You laughed, nodding. “Yeah!”
“But your plane –”
“I – uh – I lied.” You glanced away from him, your face hot. “My flight was actually bumped up. I wanted to surprise you. I wasn't expecting you to get stupid drunk.”
Tenya sunk to the floor, and pulled you into his lap. He was so cute with his goofy grin and the pink dusting on his cheeks. He rubbed his cheek against yours. Your guests chuckled at the sight. You pulled him in for a long, hard kiss. So glad to finally have him in your arms. You could feel every bit of his body against yours. You had to calm his hands as they roamed freely over your body. They were dipping into places that shouldn't be caressed in public.
Finally – no more counting the days.
No more nights between you.
No more hours to wait.
You two were together. And it was the sweetest feeling in the world.
“Why wouldn't I have been upset by the delay?” he rambled. “I've missed you, and I didn't want to think of another day without you here. I needed a little boost. Drinking was perhaps not the best choice.”
Tenya clung to you all night, never letting you out of his sight. Seeing everyone was lovely. You really couldn't have asked for a better homecoming. The lights he'd put up outside were spectacular. And the warm cozy air your home had taken on was supernatural. Or maybe it was just because you were glad to be home.
It was nearly midnight when everybody finally left. Ochaco and Izuku had stayed to help you clean. Tenya wouldn't let you go long enough to do anything. You were about to force him upstairs when he stumbled over to the tree.
“No, no, no – you have to open this. While it's still Christmas. Please,” Tenya pouted, and forced a little black box with a shimmering silver lid into your hand. The childish pout on his face was adorable, but he really should've been getting to bed.
“Tenya –”
“Open it.”
You eyed him suspiciously, but planted yourself on the couch. He adhered himself to your side. He held you closely, head on your shoulder. A red ribbon was tied lovingly around the box. It was always too beautiful to unwrap. You had a suspicion Tenya hadn't done this himself. He packaged things neatly, but aesthetics weren't his forte.
You pulled the ribbon, then peered into the box. You looked at him, then in the box, then back again.
“You did not go out and spend a fortune,” you scolded.
Tenya shrugged. “You deserve the world.”
“Tenya!” But you couldn't deny it was beautiful.
It was simple, with a thin silver chain. Hanging from the end was a pendant. It had your birth stone in set on the part where the chain went through. And there was immaculate scroll work around the edges. Tenya took it briefly from your hands, the pressed the sides.
The front popped open. A lump pressed in your throat. A miniature of your wedding photo was nestled inside the frame. Tenya turned it over, revealing both of your initials along with your wedding date on the back.
“I left the other half open, for when we have a family of our own,” he muttered drowsily. “I love you more than the world. I'm very happy you're finally home. I'd be very happy if you didn't have to leave again.”
“I love this. I love you,” you murmured in reply, then turned your head to kiss him.
You put the locket back in the box, then helped him stand. You hauled Tenya upstairs, and got him changed. He insisted on brushing his teeth, even though he coud barely stand up right. The necklace took up a home on your night stand. You were going to wear this every day that you could. It was your new favourite piece of jewelry.
Once you were settled into bed, he immediately took you in him arms. He hummed in content.
“How would you feel about being a secretary?” Tenya slurred, nuzzling his nose into the back of your neck. “I'm going to need a new one soon. Mine is gonna get fired.”
You sighed. “I actually wanted to talk to about that. I wanted to wait until you were sober. But – I'm going to quit my job. That way I can be home with you. If we want a family....I'm also tired of spending so much time away from you. You can't imagine how lonely the world is without you with me to see it.”
Tenya sighed. “I want your....baabbeeezzz...”
You chuckled. “Tenya? - Love?”
A light snoring told you he was out cold. You smiled to yourself as he snuggled closer to you. You relaxed into him. You'd been waiting for this for ages. Or, it felt like ages anyway. You didn't want to be away from him anymore. Coming home to the one you love? It was amazing. But getting to stay home with them? That was the best Christmas gift you could ask for.

Apparition
A wave of courses leave Diane's lips when you're done telling her what happened yesterday. She tells you Robert is a lawyer, and if Neil ever shows up again, she won't save up money to sue his ass off. You couldn't agree more. But after the tense moment has passed, the three of you seat on the kitchen table, ready for a different kind of tension.
“Alright. Now, aunt. We're actually here for something else.” You start, clearing your throat and trying not to show that you're nervous about it. It's not that you're changing your mind, but you're aware of the big decision you're taking. And you're scared it won't work in the end, but still, you want to do it, to know how it would be to live with Billy. Well, with Maxine too. You're trying not to overthink, but to just give this crazy idea a chance.
“What is it?” She squints her eyes, flying from Billy and back at you.
“You tell her.” You elbow Billy, who looks at you with wide eyes. “It was your idea.” You lower your voice.
“But she's your aunt.” He complains.
“Alright, kids. What's going on?” Diane raises her voice, tapping on the table. “Should I be worried? I heard some rumors and–”
“No. It's... Good news.” You assure her, taking a deep breath before–
“I asked her to come to live with me.” Billy bursts out, and you don't know why but you feel so damn nervous about it, so you hold his hand. It's a funny feeling, one that you never felt. You never introduced any of the guys you dated to your parents. The only two guys you dated before. You did tell their names to Diane, but that was it. A short time after the relationship was over anyway, so it was never a thing. But this... This is huge.
“Well, that's... That's a big step you're taking." Diane doesn't seem mad, and you remember she's nothing like your parents. She understands you, supports you, and it makes you feel better, confident. And if you mess up, she will be right here to help you up. “Are you both sure about it?”
You both nod at the same time. “I came up with the idea.” Billy starts. ”We have the same plans about the routine when summer is over and the classes are back.” He moves your holding hands over the table, his thumb caressing the back of your hand. “I own my house, so it just makes sense since (Y/N) plans on staying in Hawkins.” He makes a pause. “As do I. And you wouldn't have to pay rent anymore.”
“It's not this part that matters. I came to live here because I wouldn't leave (Y/N) alone and I have no trouble driving to the clinic. What matters is what you guys are feeling. Living together is a big step. You'll be around each other all day, you'll get to know each other a lot better and fights will happen.” She's using the mom's voice, and it's so cute. You can't even remember how many times you wished she was your real mother. How many times you called her, in tears, sobbing, asking why she wasn't the one to put you into this world. But it doesn't really matter now, because it's Diane, it always has been, who was a mother to you. It's to her you run to when you need advice, and she's the one you're nervous about telling this decision. Your parents won't know about this, they don't have to. But Diane? She has to. You own her this much. “And you can't just break apart when the first disagreement hits.”
“We won't,” Billy speaks up before you can, tightening his grip on your hand a little. Turning your head, you look at him, those blue eyes reassuring you about all this, and a smile comes to your lips. “I love (Y/N). I think you, as her mother figure should know that.”
This takes you by surprise. You never thought Billy would be the one to act like this. He's still impressing you, every passing day...
“Then you already said the three big words to each other,” Diane states, but your eyes are locked on Billy's.
“We did,” you assure her, suddenly aware of the public, what makes you blush. “I really wanna do this, aunt.”
“I know, honey. I'll give you my permission then.”
“What?” You gasp, laughing a little. “I wasn't asking for permission. I was just... Letting you know.” Raising an eyebrow, you give her a smirk.
“I give permission.” Diane crosses her arms, leaning back on her chair.
“I don't–”
“Let's just start packing up your things.” Billy cuts you off, and you wonder if he's trying to get into your aunt's good side. He pulls you off the chair and you have no choice but to follow him.
You still have an hour before you have to get to the pool, so you start working. Diane helps until she has to go too, telling you she'll call the house owner from the clinic and let him know you'll be moving out.
As you put all your clothes and personal stuff into the three pieces of baggage you have, you feel it becoming real. Yesterday you were both a little high from the commotion, but now... You're actually doing it. You and Billy are emptying out your wardrobe and drawers, and the few stuff you have around the bedroom. You make a few trips to his car and back, making sure nothing is left behind.
“You don't have much stuff besides clothes,” Billy says as you both stand by the door frame, looking at the now empty bedroom.
“No. Actually, most of the clothes I have now I bought in Indianapolis. When I left New York I had nothing but a backpack.” You can't help but smile at the memory. You felt like a teenager that day, running away. It was the first time on a plane, but the whole flight was a blur. You could only think that you were finally free, to do what you wanted with your life.
“Ready to go? We can drop your things off before driving to the pool.”
“Yup. Let's go.”
The short ride back to his place is silent since you're a little lost in your own head. You don't know why, but the fear you once had of falling for Billy hits again. What if this is a mistake? What if it's way too soon to do this and this is what will break you apart. ‘We're bound to break.’ The sentence hits you like a brick, and you can't help but nervously run a hand through your hair, looking at the landscape outside the window.
“(Y/N),” Billy calls, and when you turn your face to look at him, you notice you're already here. “Are you ok?”
“Yeah, I... I just...”
“Did you change your mind?” His voice sounds weak, still deep and strong but... Weak. Fearful.
“No, I just... I don't want to ruin what we have. Guess I'm a little scared.” Shrugging your shoulders, you take a deep breath, stretching your arm and touching the back of his neck. “Aren't you? Not even a little bit?”
“Yes. I'm scared you'll open your eyes and realize the asshole I am and walk away.” Billy opens the door and steps out of the car.
“Shit,” you mumble, doing the same. “Billy, wait.” You raise your voice, eyes on his back as he goes to the front door. He's still affected by what happened yesterday, and it seems that the only thing that's making him happy is the fact that you're here. “Won't you help me carry these things inside?”
You smile when he stops, biting your lips when he turns on his heels and comes back.
You have your eyes on the clock since you couldn't help start putting things in their places. The room is a mess because of the bad idea of laying everything on the bed and only then start looking for places. You're thankful that he has some space in his wardrobe, but you'll need a new one, bigger. When you're tired of dealing with the clothes, you leave him to it and move to his bathroom. And there's definitely no space in the cabinet. You sit on the floor, looking at your things, and at the space you have to put them.
“It won't fit,” you complaim, considering putting everything on a box under the bed.
“What won't fit?” Billy asks from the bedroom, but he soon comes to your aid. “Ok, let me see.” He offers his hand and you take it, pulling yourself up. “You have... Three different types of shampoo.”
“Yes,” you mutter, leaning on the door frame. “One is for when my hair is dry, the other–”
“Two types of hair conditioner.” He's having way too much fun today, you can tell by the tone of his voice there's a smile hidden.
“I couldn't choose the scent I liked more.” You have no idea why you're explaining this to him.
“And... Two types of tampons.”
“For goodness sake, Billy!” You yell, felling your whole face burning. In an insanely fast move, you take the boxes from his hand, putting them away from his sight. The smile on his face makes you want to punch him.
“Chill, princess.” Grabbing the shampoo and hair conditioner, he gets back to his feet. “We can put those in the shower organizer.”
“Mhmm.” Looking down, you're still trying to swallow the embarrassment, drumming your fingers on the wall.
“You're so cute when you're blushing, strawberry,” Billy says as he comes out of the shower box, a smirk on his lips.
“I thought you said I looked like a tomato last time.” Giggling, you step back, running from his embrace.
“Yeah, but strawberries are cute.” He moves fast, a strong arm encircling your waist and pulling you close, making you collide against his chest. “Like you.”
“Did you know that when two women live together, their cycles are likely to get in sync?” It's your time to tease now, so you make sure to give him a wicked smile.
“And?” He furrows his eyebrows.
“You'll have two girls PMSing at the same time.” You can't help but laugh at his face, as he tries to understand what you just said. “Now, are you changing your mind, baby?” Keeping your voice soft, you peck his lips.
“Billy, where–” Max swings the door open, but her words are cut short, and when you look at her, you see the reason why. There are still some clothes scattered around. “What the hell is all this?”
“Uhm...” You forgot to tell Maxine.
“(Y/N) lives here now,” Billy says, embracing your waist from behind when you turn around to face Max.
You're nervous to read her expression, but it's blank. She doesn't believe it. What if she doesn't want you here? “A-are you happy about it?”
“Are you kidding? I'll have someone else in this house to talk to other than this shithead.” Her face breaks into a smile, and you're so damn relieved. “You're really serious this time, aren't you, Billy?”
“Yeah.” He mumbles, his mouth is dangerously close to your ear.
“Well, I'll leave you two alone before I'm grossed out.” Max rolls her eyes and leaves.
Taking a deep breath, you turn around, Billy's arms never letting go of you. “So... We're dating for less than twenty-four hours and we're already living together. We're both completely crazy, Hargrove.”
“I don't see a problem with that.” Billy crushes his lips on yours, and you laugh through the kiss. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you stumble backwards as he pushes you, tasting the lips you dreamed about for so long. A groan gets caught on your throat when your hip hits his dresser before your back hits the wall, which makes you laugh again.
“Ouch!” You exclaim, faking an angry face that soon enough fades away. You wonder if you'll ever get over the sensation Billy provokes. The nervousness, the butterflies on your stomach... You slide your arms down from his neck, so you're touching his chest. You guess it's ok now, right? To look at him and want to touch him. And you're kinda upset his wearing a shirt.
“Sorry. Just can't believe I can kiss you now.”
“It's not a big deal, Billy.” Biting your lip, you look at the clock he has on the dresser beside you. “We gotta go though. Or else we'll be late again.” When you turn to look at him, his face is different. It's the same from last night, full of pain and suffering. You're about to ask what happened when you realize you gave him a good sight of your bruised cheek. Red and purple, with the scratch from Neil's ring. Your eyes fall on his wounds too, on the apple of his cheek, his lower lip and above his left eyebrow. “Baby–”
“I'm sorry, (Y/N)–”
“I'm not,” you whisper, cupping his face with your hands. “I'll say it again: I'd face a hundred Neils for you. Without thinking twice. I love you, baby.”
Slowly, a smile comes to his lips. “I like it when you call me baby.”
“Well, baby...” Pushing him away, you gesture at the clock. “We gotta go.”
•
You somehow managed to get to the Community Pool right on time, despite being way too playful on your way there. The fact that you're holding hands until you have to split up at the lockers gets some attention. You change into the red swimsuit before putting on the sunblock, seated on one of the benches. You're putting your hair up on a ponytail when you hear a whistle, which makes you jump, heartbeat increasing.
“No running on my watch!” You hear Billy's yell, and you can't help but laugh. The kids are terrified of him.
You're playing with the tips of your hair when you leave the locker, making the way to the chair to start the day. Knowing there's a funfair to go to makes you want the day to pass real quick. You've never been to anything like that, and it'll be good to have something new and different to do.
“(Y/N).” Someone calls and you stop, turning on your heels to see who is it. All the joy melts when you see David, walking over you. “Been a while. How are you?”
“I'm great. You?” You ask just to be polite.
“Perplexed to know you're still hanging out with Hargrove. I even heard these rumors that you're–”
“Pregnant?” You cut him off, sighing. “Yeah. But I'm not. I fainted because of heat exhaustion, that's all.“ You give a step back, turning your head at the kid's pool, trying to make him notice you're not interested in talking. You'd work for twenty-four hours non stop if it means you won't have to talk to David.
“The hell is that on your face?” He raises his voice, and you suddenly remember the bruise and cut on your cheek. You forgot the damn thing. But you hate the way he talks, as if he had any right to. David's eyebrows are furrowed, an angry expression on his face.
“It's–”
“Did he do that to you?” David looks and gestures at something behind you, and you know who it is. A second later you feel Billy behind you and you immediately feel better. “He's beat up too. What the hell–”
“We got into a fight but that not your business,” Billy says, his voice especially deep and low. Like an unspoken threat.
“You should see the other guy,” you mutter, and a small smile involuntary comes to your lips.
“(Y/N), if this asshole did that you can tell me. I can–”
“David, stop it. Billy didn't hurt me and I don't have to tell you anything.” You can feel Billy getting tense.
“What do you expect me to think when you're still hanging around this asshole and then you show up with your face all screwed up? But if you want to be his whore, be my guest, (Y/N), good luck with that.”
“Now you stepped over the line,” Billy shouts, stepping forward, burning with anger. But you know this will end badly for him since he's an employee here and David is a client. If you were anywhere else, you wouldn't lift a finger.
“Let it go, baby.” You raise your voice, moving to stand between your boyfriend and David.
“I told you I'd break his nose the next time.”
“I know, but it's not worth it.” You keep a hand on Billy's chest, but you turn to face David. “Listen up, buddy. I couldn't care less about what you think you know. We're not friends, so the next time you want to come and talk to me as if we were anything else than two people who happen to live in the same town, don't. I have a boyfriend who looks after me, I have real friends and an aunt who looks after me. I don't need you.” You keep a straight face as if the words had no meaning at all. David looks like he was hit by a train, embarrassed because he knows there are people nearby, listening. You have been noticing most of the people here don't like him very much. Can't possibly understand why. “And next time you do anything like this, I won't stop Billy.” Leaning closer, you whisper: “I might even help him beat you up a little.”
He doesn't say anything else. He just walks away, leaving the pool. You turn around to look at Billy, as he follows David with his eyes until he's gone before looking down at you. “Damn, (Y/N).”
“Damn indeed.” Smiling, you chose to ignore the public for a while, tiptoeing to kiss him. Billy wraps his arms around your waist and lifts you up. God, you can feel dozens of eyes on your back. And you don't care one bit.
“Look what we have here.” Monica's voice is what makes you pull away, being put down again. “This must mean something good, I hope.”
“Guess,” you say, winking at her. But Monica's face changed and you know why.
Her eyes fly from you to Billy then back at you. “You guys ok? Got into a fight or something?”
“I'll explain everything later. We're still going to get ready for the funfair at your place, right?”
“Yup. All our girl friends. No boys allowed.” She points a finger at Billy. Despite the light tone of her voice, you can tell she's worried.
“No boys allowed,” you repeat, tiptoeing once more to place a quick kiss on his lips. “Now, let's get to work.”
•
At the end of the day, you're utterly bored. But there are still two hours to go. The pools are almost empty, compared to the number of people you have here daily. People are excited about the fair and left soon to meet up with their friends, and it only makes you more excited by the minute. So you're not on your post, you're seated on the middle step of Billy's chair, in between his legs, using his sunglasses, hoping the hours will pass by faster.
But honestly, you're already done for today. “This is the worse workday ever,” you mutter, breathing out. “We could actually leave. Anthony isn't even here.” You complain, staring at a small group of teenagers across the pool.
“Let's go then.” He lightly kicks your arm.
“What?”
“Let's go.” You get up when you feel him moving, giggling as he jumps to the ground and takes your hand.
You don't even bother to change, you just get your stuff and run to the car. You're a breathless mess when he speeds away, feeling like a teenager again, running from school.
Maxine is perplexed to see both of you home so soon, and she mumbles something about expecting something like this from Billy but not from you. It just makes you laugh harder. You quickly put the rest of your clothes in their new places before you decide to chill until it's time to go. Well, you'll go to Mon's earlier and he'll meet you there.
You can't believe you're so excited about this. Maybe you're just happy about everything and it's channeling to the fair. But it'll also be the first time you and Billy will go out as boyfriend and girlfriend. Maybe it's silly to think like that, but you think it's ok to be silly for a while. You're drinking a glass of cold water by the sink, looking at the street through the window. Hawkins is beautiful, and you can't help but wonder, imagine, what it could be from now on. You mean, you still got college to go through, but you want to know what will come next. You know what you want, but you still need to know what Billy wants. But it's not the time to think about it yet. You still have a good amount of summer ahead.
Running a hand through your hair, you go back to the living room, a smile forcing its way to your lips when you see Billy on the bench press, lifting the bar over his head. “Looking good, baby,” you tell him, getting one of his famous smirks, the same that once had you hating him for a while.
“Good to know you're enjoying the view, princess.”
Your eyes suddenly fall on your glass, still half full, as an idea crosses your head. Slowly, you walk over the bench until you're right next to him, looking down. “What if I...” You turn the glass just a little bit, threatening to spill the water on his chest.
Billy doesn't stop though, raising an eyebrow at you. “You won't do it.” He says, way too confident.
“Uhum...” You mumble right before fulfilling the threat and throwing water on him.
“What the–”
Bursting into laughter, you run on the moment you see him getting up. “Can't believe you did that.” He exclaims, and you're about to reach the hall when you're grabbed from behind, an arm around your waist, lifting you up. “Give me that!” He tries to grab the glass and you struggle to keep it out of his reach.
“Stop it!” You shout in between laughs, almost losing your breath since he's holding exactly on your ticklish spot. You gasp when you feel a bunch of water on your face. “It's glass, careful.”
“You have no idea what you started.” He yells, still trying to throw what's left of the water on you.
“What's all the yelling about?” Max's voice startles both of you, and when Billy moves, his feet slips and you're suddenly pulled down with him, falling on your butt. Your laughter clouds whatever Max is saying as you just stand there, on the floor. “You're crazy, you two.” She mumbles before heading back into her room.
“I–” You're interrupted by someone blasting the horn outside, and you know it's Monica. “That's my ride,” you tell him, pushing your body up to a sitting position, looking down at Billy. “See you there?”
“I miss you already.” One of his hands comes to caress your cheek, and you bend down to place a quick kiss on his lips.
After taking the bag with your outfit for the night, you meet up with Monica on the sidewalk. She's obviously excited about the fair, and so are you. The sun is down already, and the first signs of the night are already here.
“Hanging out at Billy's, huh?” She asks as she drives away.
“Yeah...” You can't wait to tell her, but you'll wait until Billy is with you. She'll freak out, you're sure. “Things are going unbelievably well between us.”
“I can see that.” Monica gives you a look, winking. “Candace and Alice will come a little later so we'll have some time to talk. And little lady, you have a lot to talk about.”
Smiling at her, you nod, turning your head to look at the landscape outside the window. The woods fly past you, the darkness already taking over under the trees. Something moves, and you move in your seat too, trying to see what it is. You're about to tell Monica when a strange feeling builds up on your stomach, and you squint your eyes, trying to see better.
That thing is as fast as the car, easily keeping up. Then you see another one, a little slower, but still unnaturally fast. Clenching your hands into fists, you quickly notice this is not the first time you see something like this. The low light, that somehow still finds it's a way through the leaves, gives you a sudden glimpse of their skin. And just as you thought, as you hoped not to be, it's naked. Like a dark, slick skin. The face is shapeless as if it didn't have one.
Terrified, you look away, focusing on the road ahead.
“(Y/N)? Are you alright?” Monica's voice sounds distant, low.
“Yeah.” You breathe out, nodding, and clearing your throat. “I'm ok.” Forcing a smile, you say it more to yourself than to her.
This gotta be a mistake. You're probably... You don't know. Imagining it? But James saw it, the same damn thing... Whatever it is, it's not in your head. It's real. Giving another look at the woods, you look for the animals, but they're gone. You should feel relieved, but you don't. You have to tell Billy about it and then the police. Someone has to do something, find out what this... Thing is. What if it starts attacking people? What if it leaves the woods and starts going into town?
Taking a deep breath, you run a hand through your hair. You'll try to keep it together for tonight. But tomorrow, you'll do something. You have to.

Mud bath.
"Erm..." Selene blinked, not really knowing what to say.
"I know."
"It's just that..."
"I said I know!"
"There's just so much..."
"I get it!"
"That's gonna take some scrubbing."
"I'm aware of that fact," Kayo's curt reply held a definite tone of warning.
Selene couldn't blame her, not really. She was covered from head to toe in mud, the dirt clinging to her skin, soaked into her hair and Selene was pretty sure she'd heard the sound of squelching whenever the other woman moved.
"Do you need any he-"
"I've got it, thanks." Kayo turned her back, walking stiffly from the hangar to the adjoined showers, knowing that Grandma would pitch a fit if any of them traipsed mud up to the main house.
Dismissed, Selene gave up the battle, knowing that Kayo, more than anyone, had moments where she just wanted to be left alone.
-x-
"Anyone seen Kay?" Virgil asked later that night when they were all in the lounge, spread out across the sofas in what Jeff called Sloth mode. Nothing was moving them short of an emergency call, which they all desperately hoped wouldn't happen.
"Not since we got back," Gordon answered. "She said she was pretty tired, maybe she went straight to bed?"
"Without eating?" Selene's inbuilt need to care for those around her pinged into life.
"I'm sure she'll get something if she's hungry," Gordon shrugged, not taking his eyes off the show on the holoscreen.
"Don't be mean," Selene swiped at his shoulder. "How would you like it if you got back and no one fed you?"
"It happens all the time," he protested.
"Not while I'm here," she said firmly. "I'm going to go and check on her."
"Your funeral."
It took her very little time to rustle up some left over mac and cheese and she took it, along with a glass of milk, up to Kayo's room.
She knocked on the door but got no answer.
"Come on, open up, I've brought you some food."
"I'm not hungry," floated through the door.
"Don't give me that shit, you haven't eaten since breakfast."
Nothing.
"It's mac and cheese," she wheedled.
Selene heard a sigh of defeat, followed by shuffling footsteps coming closer to the door.
"I'm warning you now," Kayo said through gritted teeth, "you'd better not laugh."
Selene frowned. What was there to laugh about?
"Promise me."
"Erm... OK, I promise not to laugh."
The door opened slowly, just enough for Selene to squeeze through, slamming shut behind her the moment she was inside the room.
"Where shall I put this..." Selene trailed off, catching sight of Kayo for the first time. "Oh lawd."
"Don't. Laugh."
"I wasn't going to!" Selene slid the tray of food onto the bedside table and turned to get a closer look.
"Yeah, right. I know how it looks, I've looked in the mirror."
"I honestly wasn't going to," Selene assured her. And she hadn't been. Her poor friend didn't need teasing, she needed help. Badly.
Her hair, that beautiful, thick, naturally shiny hair that Selene secretly lusted after but couldn't get without a mountain of products, looked like shit. There, she said it, even if it was just in her own head. It was fluffed up beyond all recognition, a mass of tangles and frizz the likes of which Selene had never seen.
"I'm sorry, I gotta ask..."
Kayo folded her arms, tapping her foot, daring Selene to say something shitty.
"How the hell did that happen?"
"I don't know," Kayo huffed. "I know my ponytail got loose from my helmet, that's never good because it gets all tangled then. Then the band snapped and it was a lost cause."
Selene nodded, she'd had a similar experience with her hair coming out of the back of her jacket while riding on the back of her Dad's motorbike and it had taken her and her mum the best part of an evening and two washes to get it untangled again.
"I've washed it three times, blow dried it and broken a brush on it but it's just made it worse."
"What type of conditioner did you use?"
"The one I always do, the one in the locker room and then mine up here. That one that Grandma buys in bulk."
Selene's eyes widened in horror as her friend described the torment she had just admitted to putting her hair through.
"Generic conditioner? You used generic conditioner? The same shit that Alan uses? That conditioner? And then you tried to brush it out?"
Kayo shrugged.
"What are you, a savage?"
"What else would I do to get tangles out?"
"Oh my gods," Selene clasped her hands over her heart and swayed dramatically. "I can't believe I'm hearing this. How? How could you think that would be OK?"
"It's always been OK every other time."
"No! No don't you dare dismiss it and pretend that you didn't just commit a cardinal hair sin!"
Kayo shrugged again.
Selene pointed at Kayo then the tray of food. "You, you're going to eat that while I go and get some emergency supplies, and then we're going to fix this mess!"
Selene didn't give Kayo a chance to respond, she just swept out of the room, having delivered her orders which she expected to be obeyed. Kayo wanted to argue but knew it was a pointless waste of energy. Her hair felt like straw, she was grumpy and now that the enticing scent of cheesy pasta was permeating the room, she realised she was hungry too.
By the time Selene returned, arms ladened with so many bottles Kayo was sure she had just robbed a salon, she had eaten all of the food, drank half the milk and could admit that she actually felt a bit better.
"Right," Selene declared, dumping her load on the bed and sorting through it. "This is a moisturing shampoo, it's my favourite, the one that Scott keeps stealing. We're going to wash your hair with this and then we're going to slap on this deep conditioning mask and leave it for the full half hour before rinsing."
"Half an hour?" Selene had never heard Kayo sound so shocked.
"Yep, while wearing this." Selene produced something that looked like deflated balloon that had mated with a wedding bouquet.
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a swimming cap, ignore the flowers, it'll keep the conditioner in place and create warmth to help it soak in, we'll cover it with a towel, you won't see it."
It took some persuading, but soon Kayo was back with soaking wet hair. Selene helped her to smother her locks in an insane amount of the hair mask and wrestled it into the swimming cap then wrapped her whole head in a towel.
"I feel ridiculous."
"Ypu look it too, but beauty is pain and it'll be worth it in the end."
"I know at least six different ways to kill you without you making a sound, they will never find your body."
"But you wouldn't do that to me, would you? Because then you'd be combing that shit out on your own."
The witch spoke the truth.
"Urghhh," Kayo groaned, refusing to admit defeat but knowing she had to. "This is going to take forever."
"Nah, it won't, don't sweat it. We'll have a girly night. Look, I bought face masks and chocolate too, it'll be great."
There was protests, but Selene quickly bulldozed through them like she always did, going so far as to launch herself at the other woman and sit on her when she tried to escape to lock herself in the bathroom, holding her down while she scrubbed at her face with a cleansing wipe and then painted on the mask. Ignoring her outraged screeching as she flailed her arms in a defensive attack.
The door opened at one point, Gordon and Alan sticking their heads in to make sure everything was OK. In their house screaming was never ignored. They took one look at Selene straddling Kayo, holding a dripping brush between her teeth while Kayo tried to push her hands away, both girls faces smeared in bright green face mud, and backed right out again. Selene didn't blame them.
Kayo looked at Selene, her eyes narrowing as if she were about to shove her onto the floor, but then her lips curved in a smile and she started to laugh.
They both collapsed into manic giggling, unable to stop. The looks on the boys faces ahd been priceless, as had theirs when they had turned to look at the door, pausing in the middle of their fighting.
"Thats going to be all around the island in the next ten minutes," Kayo howled.
"Oh gods, yes. They're never going to let this be forgotten," Selene wheezed, easing up on her friend and rolling sideways to get off her.
By the time their hysterics had subsided Selene gave Kayo permission to wash out her hair.
Over the course of the next two hours Selene smothered Kayo's hair in detangler and painstakingly combed through the now thankfully not so tangled mass, working in tiny sections at a time, from the tip to the roots until she could run the comb smoothly through her hair.
As they worked, with Kayo sat on the floor in front of the bed and Selene perched on the edge behind her, they fell into an easy chatter, sharing the chocolate Selene had brought with her and catching up.
If anyone asked, Selene would say she was closest to the boys, and most definitely Scott, but she counted Kayo as a close friend just the same.
At first meeting the two women had decided that they had very little in common, although they had banded together, two girls in a sea of testosterone that was Tracy Island and had become close pretty quickly.
Selene was more of a girly girl, finding enjoyment in putting on makeup, dressing up in nice clothes and watching weepy movies. Whereas Kayo was a tougher nut. She didn't really like dresses and considered makeup to be a waste of time, but they had worked hard to find a common ground.
Kayo had been used to being the lone girl (apart from Grandma) on the island and Selene often wondered if her mother dying young and her moving to the island where she had had to hold her own with what amounted to a chattering pack of wild monkeys, had stopped her from exploring her feminine side a bit more.
Kayo was great for so many things, she and Selene often spent their workout time together and had found they both shared a curious fascination for real crime documentaries, especially those of a more historical nature like Ted Bundy, The Yorkshire Ripper and the Night Stalker, it was interesting to try to figure out how today's modern technologies could have helped with the cases.
They would be found by John, wide awake in the small hours of the morning, camped out in the lounge with blankets and unhealthy snacks that Kayo would never admit to actually eating, engaged in some debate or other, sharing theories on unsolved cases or giving their opinions on one's that had already been solved.
No, their Kayo could never be described as girly but she was awesome just the same.
As Selene worked Kayo regaled her was the story of the whole sorry rescue from start to finish, starting with the flooding and finishing with all of then wallowing around in knee high muck, slopping around, falling over and basically having a less than relaxing mud bath.
The boys had had it easy, they just needed a quick shower and change of clothes, but Kayo had not been so lucky.
But the time all the tangles were out of her hair and Selene had dried it with the hairdryer she'd borrowed from Virgil's room, both girls were laughing again and with each sweep of the brush through her friends hair Selene felt her tense shoulder relaxing, simply enjoying the feel of someone looking after her for once.
Kayo didn't like being looked after, where the boys were always happy to accept any and all attention, especially if it came in the form of food, hugs or tv buddies, Kayo was more reserved and less likely to seek out company when she felt tired or moody. Selene made a mental note to force her company on her friend more often.
"There, all done," Selene announced, running her fingers through it one more time just because it felt so soft and shiny now that it had had some TLC.
"It actually feels amazing," Kayo admitted, stroke a strand between finger and thumb.
"That's because your heathen head has finally been nourished with something decent."
Kayo ignored that dig as Selene started to gather up her products, leaving some on the bedside table for Kayo to keep.
"There, that wasn't too horrendous was it?"
"So you say," Kayo huffed, but there was just a tiny hint of a smile on her face.
"So you wouldn't want to make this a monthly thing then?"
Kayo rolled her eyes. "Obviously not."
Selene shrugged, turning to pick up her things.
"But, I consider you my friend so, you know, hanging out once a month wouldn't be that much of a chore, but only because you want to."
"Oh, of course," Selene agreed, trying not to laugh.
"So, what now?" Kayo asked, reluctant to admit that it had actually been quite a fun night that she wasn't really ready to end yet.
Selene thought about it for a moment or two. "Wash off this stuff," she pointed to the mask that had long since dried into a flaking, crusty mess, "and then shove the boys off the couch so we can watch the next episode of 'Crimes of Passion, the 80s years'?"
"Thought you'd never ask."
Big thanks to @myladykayo for the picture prompt. Not sure what this turned into but I went with it.

A/N I cant wait for yall to read this
Sunlight fights to filter in beneath the thick curtains, causing you to stir slightly as the sweet smell of burning sugar pulls you closer.
Happily you snuggle deeper into the scent, drowning in it as you nose your way further into the crook of a soft neck. A hum escapes you as you are pulled quickly back under tow dreaming of a sweet shop with nothing but squares of caramel and deep candy apple eyes.
A harsh knock comes at the door snapping you back to reality causing your muscles to tense with burning adrenaline. You're pulled ever closer, pressed impossibly so into a muscled chest, pops ringing out of a steady hand.
"Who the fuck is it?" Voice dark, deep with sleep and venom. Causing your body to act on it's own as your stomach and core flutter.
The dream makes more sense as you slowly remember last night, your cheeks aflame.
"Ka..Kaachan. We're late! Our plane leaves in half an hour and I'm worried about Y/N. She isn't picking up her phone and she won't answer her door. I...I dont remember her coming back with us last night. She came back with us right? We didn't leave her? The girls left before us and..." He continues on in a tangent as Bakugo growls. Both of you relish each other's skin for a moment before letting go, giving one another an odd glance as you both dress. Katsuki nods towards the sliding door as he breaks Deku's worry spell.
"Oi! Oi!" Bakugo growls ripping the door open enough that his top half sticks out, "She and I brought you back. She's probably taking forty fucking years to get ready like normal. Let me get my shit together."
He glances over his shoulder to watch you gracefully float from his balcony to yours. His eyes return to his oldest frenemy. Jade eyes hazed, half asleep, deep bags pull at his features harshly enough to have the hot head say.
"You look like shit. Did you take the meds Y/N left out for you?" Deku nods, gripping his forearm tightly.
"I'm sorry I..." But Bakugou cuts him off.
"Told you you couldn't out drink me, ya fucking light weight. Now get ready, when I'm done I'll get Y/N." He sighs shutting the door just before Deku turns to make his way back.
Katsuki stares at his unmade bed, at your card and phone sitting on his nightstand, reliving the night before.
He hopes he didn't make a mistake or take advantage of you depsite both of you being drunk as fuck.
The lingering smell of your shampoo clings to him like a lost lover causing him to bite his lower lip.
You stand in front of the glass door, debating if you should go in. Brave hands act on their own as they grip onto the door, flinging it to the side before you step into the dark room.
After a quick scan, it is safe to say that no one is present. House keeping had come to freshen your sheets and towels and you do not see anything amiss. The only thing noticeable is the slight indent on the side of the bed. You convince yourself that it's from the natural sag of the mattress.
Quickly you grab for your bag, checking to make sure you have all of your extra hero suits before grabbing onto the Bakugou waifu pillow having half a mind to leave it here.
But the longer you stare the more your head swims as your stomach twists with the weight of uncertainty.
Of the silent tension the two of you carried that could shift your relationship drastically one way or the other.
Little time is left before the three of you are supposed to leave, yet you make your way to the shower anyway. Cranking it up as high as it will go before standing in the burning water.
Almost wishing you were sharing the shower with the same person who left little purple bites over your breasts.
Even with your shower you manage to beat both of your male coworkers to the hallway.
Waiting patiently as you lean agaisnt your door, heart fluttering as you relive the ENTIRE weekend.
Of green eyes you hope to never see again, of a glass replica of your own eye, a threatening note, of the laughs you shared with the former 1A.
Of the closeness that developed between you and the women, that developed between you and Izuku.
And especially the smile that Bakugo has been sharing with you.
Of the eye contact from last night. Your heart freefalls into your stomach with enough force that the wind leaves you in a small "Fuck."
Hand pushing through wet hair as Izuku emerges from his room.
"Oh Y/N, thank goodness you're okay!" He wraps strong arms around your frame, flooding your senses with peppermint and a hint of lime.
"Oi, oi stop being dramatic I told ya the brat was fucking fine." Katsuki huffs, slamming his door, "You forgot this in my pocket last night."
There is little bite in his voice as his hand holds out your phone. He looks over you with deft eyes, reading your body language for distress while checking to see if any bruises were visible all before slinking back down to your hand.
That you haphazardly rewrapped. A snarl escapes his lips as you grab onto your phone, eyes burning into you.
"Remind me to never let you wrap my wounds." He nudges your shoulder with his own, crimsom eyes shining more than usual. You scoff at his remark, shoving him roughly.
"You act as if I wouldn't hope that you'd bleed out first." You flick your hair as you sashay past him fighting to keep the smile off of your face. A smile where a scowl should be. The two of you quip and bicker like normal but something is...different. Or at least it seems that way to Izuku as he watches the two of you interact. Studying the odd pair as he wonders what has changed.
It's a subtle change, as he hadn't caught on until the two of you had gotten onto the plane.
Suddenly Izuku couldn't help but notice that there was a little less animosity, a little less hostility between the two of you.
And he sure as hell didn't miss the lingering glances the two of you shared.
Bakugo slides into his seat across the aisle as he did a short two days ago, headphones on, scarlet eyes glancing at you before squeezing shut. You choose the window seat staring out at the tarmac below. Izuku watches your eyes flutter and blur with unshed tears as whatever heartwrenching thought crosses your mind. He swallows thickly ignoring you to give you privacy.
The three of you stand in front of the towering building of your agency.
All three of you asked to return to the office for various reasons.
A set of jeweled jade and burning scarlet rove over you, worry lacing their eyes in two atronomicly different forms. Furrowed brows and a narrowed glare.
You sigh pulling your luggage behind you as you walk through the office doors first.
Bakugo finds his office exactly as he left it. A mountain of paper work that is close to being over due. He bites at his lower lip as he slams into his office chair wondering how your conversation you must be having is going. Rocking in his leather chair as he stares at his phone, avoiding work as his ears perk hoping for sound in the office beside him.
Your office settled between his and Deku's. He growls out when he hears that stupid cheery voice of Deku's thanking his assistant before Bakugo descides he should probably do some work while he waits for your return.
Snarling curses to himself as he doesn't understand *why* he is so anxious to hear from you when normally he would relish your getting in trouble.
Shining eyes stare up at him settled on rouged cheeks, plush lips forming his name devouring every other thought on his mind.
He grinds his teeth trying to forget as deadly hands open his wallet to pull out his ID card for his office laptop only to be met with your debit card staring up at him.
"Fuck." He snarls abandoning his task in search of you. Not that he really had a qualm about avoiding paper work. He just spots you leaving the agency through his large office windows.
Odd, had you not had your meeting? Usually when you were in trouble with the director the lights flickered AT LEAST once. He takes the steps two at a time, pushing through the door to the stairwell just in time to over hear the latest gossip from front reception.
"So Tejina just up and quit after a paid vacation?" The security guard asks, setting down his extra cup for who he was obviously pining after. She barely gives it a second glance.
"She didn't even pack any of her stuff." The receptionist sighs, filing at a nail, "We might have to clean out her office."
" Ungrateful bi.."But before he can finish his sentence a loud pop rings out. He freezes staring down the top hero before swallowing thickly. Scarlet burns into mundane brown before he shifts his weight to walk through the double doors. All the while the security guard thanks his lucky stars.
"Oi!" Bakugo calls after you but you ignore him, pushing through your mixed emotions as you stomp your way towards home, "OI Y/N!"
But he is just as persistent as the memory of harsh vermilion turning soft as it glimpsed into your soul.
"Fuck." You mutter, walking faster dragging your stupid suitcase in your wake.
An explosion erupts, landing a toned body directly in front of you. Heated hands finding your shoulders quickly to stop you in your tracks. You jerk back from his touch and he tries not to let the hurt shine through on his face.
"What happened?" A bite that you ignore, trying to shove past him just to repeat the dance again. Jerk away, obvious display of hurt attempting to meld into rage. The longer you dont speak the more his blood boils before he finally sounds off.
"Did you really fucking quit?!" He yells loudly enough that birds flee from trees and rooftops. Avoiding his gaze you stare at his clenched fists, wanting everything and nothing to do with him all at once.
He was the last person you wanted to see.
Especially after the look on the director's face when you stated your resignation.
But here he stood in all his muscled glory, blocking your way.
Somethings never changed did they?
"Yes Bakugo I fucking quit. I'm done I.." Just as you're about to allow yourself to break, to consciously cry in front of the last human being you thought you could ever be vulnerable with he burts with popping motion.
"YOU FUCKING QUIT? FOR FUCKING WHAT?!" He heaves, pressing further, pushing your last button, "I didn't think you would quit over something so trivial as your fan base."
Red clouds your vision and drowns out any rational thought you had as your body moves on it's own accord. Your fist rears back, slaming into a sturdy jaw line causing him to slide back a few feet. And with it infecting him with that all consuming *red*.
A mixture of a snarl and smirk contort his handsome features as he spits blood onto the ground. He lunges, powering himself with his quirk as he comes for you.
Luggage far from forgotten as you bring it up to swing, hitting him in his ribs fucking his flight attack. He counters with a point blank explosion to which you stop with a shaky shield.
Struggling to keep the energy formed with nothing as its base. You distance yourself only for him to close the space, knowing full well you worked best from afar.
Well he sure as fuck better know considering how many hours he was forced to spend with you. He watches your quirk activate and deactivate in a matter of seconds, anticipating all of the projectiles you produce.
But he fails to notice the large boulder you steal from rock garden in the courtyard of the agency. He lunges for you again hot finger tips grazing your skin before you bring the large boulder down with full force.
Pinning him into the ground until a satisfying crack rings out.
Heaved breaths echo in the semi silence as the two of you work your problems out the only way strong quirk holders seem to know how.
Destruction spelling out every word that you'd never dare to speak. He gets the message loud in clear, although too late, as he watches your posture shrink just the slightest as you look down at him.
Barely able to hold eye contact, he produces a strong enough explosion for the boulder to become confetti on the wind before he stands, spitting crimson into the dirt.
This was your opportunity to move, this was the turning point of your relationship with him.
If he comforted you now for what felt like the thousandth time in the past few days you knew you wouldn't be able to resist him again.
Caramel tickles your nose on the wind moments before he stands before you, deadly palms resting on your exposed biceps. Gently squeezing as if the two of you hadn't tried to off the other. He sighs, body relaxing before you as you stare at his ever rising chest.
"Please...please tell me what's going on." He sounds desperate and you are unsure if you've ever heard a tone like this from him before. You heart pounds in your chest and painfully so. As if it were ensnared in an unsuspecting trap, barbs puncturing the tender flesh with each agonizing beat.
*"I should end this here. I should end this now."*
Is the all consuming thought you have before your mouth moves all on it's own. You hold his gaze, matching the intensity as you stare into his stunning scarlet eyes.
Eyes that you tell yourself are actually green.
"Please, as if you really fucking care Ground Zero." You cannot even bring yourself to use his name. Knowing that when you were to sound out the syllables your voice was sure to crack, his grip becomes tighter. Those damn lips you want to devour morph into a thin line biting back his ire.
"It's funny that you are so touch starved you would take a pity fuck as anything more." He jerks away then, eyes widening before turning into a nasty glare.
Still you continue your assault, pushing him with hot hands as you pretend so desperately that he is someone else.
Anyone else so you can push him away from you, hurt him enough that he would never look in your direction again.
That wouldn't be so bad right?
"We were never friends and we never will be. Quit being a bitch, like I said. It. Was. A. Drunken. Pity. Fuck." You bite out each word, staring him down for a full moment before turning on your heel. Hand raised for your strown luggage to assemble itself before returning to your hand.
All the while blurring red eyes stare after your powerful form. Teeth grit so tightly they threaten to turn to dust.
He should move. He should go after you.
Those words were clearly not meant for him. You clearly weren't looking him him in the same light as before. He knows in his bones he needs to follow you to fix this.
But that would require Bakugou Katsuki to swallow his pride.
And he always chokes on it.
You're a shaking mess of nerves as you walk home, trying hard not to glance over your shoulder at any noise as you near closer to your apartment.
No one but the agency knows where you live as you took extra precaution to avoid not only the paparazzi but especially crazed fans even opting to stay in random hotel room instead of the comfort of your penthouse apartment.
You smile softly at the slightly dilapidating building, climbing the crumbling concrete steps jingling one of the three keys it requires to get into your apartment.
The first for the front door.
The second for the stairwells
The final for your deadbolt and handle.
Both slide in easily as you breath in the smell of your dusty and dank apartment.
Relishing the fact that no one would find you here. The black out curtains are drawn keeping the apartment plunged in a never ending nighttime. You toss your keys onto the entry table closing the door behind you as you set your luggage down with a sigh.
Suddenly the air seems to shift, dust particles disturbed in the slight sunlight that streams in the small crack of the curtains sending your heart into a panic.
Green is reflected to you in the screen of your TV as breath floats down the nape of your neck.
Before you can react a sticky substance is placed over your mouth and nose, steadily forcing its way in and down your throat. A panic sets a cold sweat onto your goose skin as you realize the substance is forming from a thick forearm.
That you beat onto desperately as your vision begins to fade to black. Quirk grabbing onto anything to smash into your assailant just for it to be absorbed. Green holds your panicked gaze.
"You really couldn't have picked a better time to quit." He presses his noise into your throat huffing in your scent as you feel a shutter go through him. The strength in your body begins to fade with your vision before he runs his tongue along the hollow of your exposed collar bone.
"I told you you'd be mine soon enough *Doll.*"

"Mmm, a blonde..."
Although Chessi didn't possess particularly strong modesty, she automatically sank down in the hot water, turning to the door with wide eyes. "I'm sorry," she blurted. "He told me to come up and take a bath, I didn't know if this was somebody's bathroom but he said the red door on the l-left a-"
"Oh, calm down, cutie." Ears swiveling forward, freshly trimmed golden tail flicking behind her, C'allie strolled to the sink and leaned against it, mismatched eyes roving what of the Hyur she could see over the tub's porcelain edge. "You're not doin' anythin' wrong. Except maybe hidin' those tits, but I'll sneak a peek at some point."
Chessi blinked at her, utterly uncomprehending. C'allie quirked a brow, crossing her arms loosely as she shifted her weight against the sink. "Aha," she said, more to herself than to the other woman. "Well, first question is why aren't you usin' any soap if he told you to come up and take a bath?" Her second question remained unasked, more silently directed towards Seifer than the other woman. Since when did he go for stupid women?
"Oh. Uh..." Chessi's cheeks colored as they hadn't done when C'allie had simply walked in. "I don't have any soap with me," she said, wet fingertips squeaking on the tub's rim.
C'allie's eyes swung to the end table within easy reach, focused on the rows of bath oils, shampoo and conditioner, the basket holding an array of fancifully shaped soaps. "...it's right there," she said, brow arching a little higher. "Like... right over there. You got bad vision or somethin'?"
"Not really? I don't think I do anyway," Chessi said, blinking. "But those aren't mine?"
"...so you're just soakin' in hot water and callin' that a bath."
Chessi's face flamed red as she looked down at the tub's rim. "...I don't have soap very often," she said, fidgeting in the water.
"Seifer wouldn't tell you to come up and take a bath if he wasn't throwin' in some soap," C'allie said, rolling her eyes. Oh, the things she had to say to him about his taste...
"Really?" Chessi looked at the soaps, eyes brightening. "I'm allowed to use one?"
"Go crazy. Use some shampoo and conditioner, too." C'allie strolled over to perch on the closed toilet seat, propping her elbows on her knees, chin in her hands. "So what brought you in here anyway?"
Chessi, looking over the array of bath products with an expression of awed delight, didn't answer immediately, focused on picking what looked, to her, to be the least expensive. Settling on a round ball of lemon-scented soap, she began lathering up, beaming at the scent. "Oh, I kind of fell off the fence while I was trying to look at the yard and Mister Seifer told me to come inside so he could look at my ankle."
A slight stretch and crane of her neck showed C'allie the discolored ankle, still swollen and purplish-black. "Uh-huh," she said slowly, a few things ticking off in her head. She didn't bother restraining the smirk that rose to her lips; the other woman wouldn't understand it anyway, she felt certain of that. "How's your ankle feelin'?"
"Good! Just a little achy," Chessi said, rapturously kneading lemon-scented shampoo into her hair. She ducked under the water to rinse off, coming up and knuckling water out of her eyes. "He's really nice! He didn't even get mad at me when I upset the animal he asked me to hold for him."
Laughter rose in her throat; C'allie fought it down, managing to do little more than cough out a giggle. "Yeah," she said, grinning broadly. "He's really nice. I bet he'll even invite you to sleep over here tonight."
Chessi blinked at her, looking up from the conditioner label she'd been carefully reading. "...really?" Her eyes rounded. "Here?"
With a nod, C'allie managed to shift her grin a bit, mismatched eyes sparkling. "Yup. Comfy bed, breakfast in the morning..." She winked, tail flicking. "Speakin' of, why don't I take your clothes and get 'em washed? With you all clean like that, it'd be an awful pity to put dirty clothes back on. There's towels in here for you to wear while you're walkin' around the house."
A blush, she expected. A protest, perhaps. However, the look of dawning wonder on Chessi's face, the smile that lit the bathroom with sheer joy... That seemed a bit... weird.
"...really?" Chessi looked at the towels hanging neatly on the racks, her eyes sparkling as she looked back at C'allie. "Like other people do? I could just... wear a towel? Like I..." She swallowed, a sudden sparkle of tears catching the light. "Like I belonged here?"
C'allie's eyes narrowed a fraction; she looked intently at the woman. "You don't wear towels around after a bath at home?" She felt fairly sure of the answer coming; after all, Chessi had just said she didn't have soap very often. C'allie'd never lived that rough, save by choice, but she knew extreme poverty when she heard it. Likely, the woman had never seen the inside of a bathroom like this, much less worn one of the plush towels that Anna insisted on.
Biting her lower lip, Chessi shook her head. "Uncle Les has towels, but he said he can't afford new ones since I'm stupid and I'll probably ruin them." She glanced at the hanging towels with abrupt nervousness. "I probably shouldn't touch those so I don't ruin them 'cause they look real pretty."
A few choice items to discuss with Seifer crossed C'allie's mind, mainly involving pointing and laughing that he was picking up dumb blondes, but she grinned and shook her head. "You can't ruin those," she said, wholly confident of being believed. "They're indestructible."
Sure enough, Chessi gazed wide-eyed at the towels, water running from her hair down her nose. "Really? That's amazing! Do all rich people get towels like that?"
"Mmmmhmm." After all, having enough gil to replace anything stained, torn or broken counted pretty much as owning indestructible items. "So don't worry about hurtin' the towels," C'allie said, leaning down to scoop up Chessi's neatly folded clothing. "Just wrap up in one when you're done and head downstairs."
"You're really nice, too," Chessi said, beaming at the miqo'te. "Thanks for not being mad that I'm stupid. I know it makes lots of people mad."
For a brief moment, C'allie pitied the idiot sitting in the tub, smiling at her with the kind of sweet innocence that she'd never been prone to having herself. And then she grinned back at Chessi, imagining Anna's reaction to a hot dumb blonde walking around in just a towel, talking about 'Mister Seifer.'
"Well, no one's goin' to get mad at you about that here," she said, letting a little purr creep into her voice. "So you enjoy your bath and those towels. I'll get your clothes washed."
C'allie didn't linger in the bathroom, not even to get a glimpse at what the water and soap suds had hid. She needed to get into another room before she couldn't control the laughter any more.
Oh, she's got a hell of a wake up call comin'...

Dear diary, dearest of all my diaries, perhaps it's time for a little bit of self-reflection. You know, something unrelated to meditation or my journey to becoming a human yoga slinky.
Since I started learning Japanese, I guess our supreme omnipresent Googlian overlords have decided it's time to set their all-powerful algorithms into action and suggest me all kinds of videos related to Japanese culture. As I was looking for something to watch, one of those videos caught my eye. The title was something about how foreigners make Japanese people uncomfortable. Hmm... Okay, YouTube-sama, enlighten me. What is it about my very essence that would make it so a Japanese person wouldn't want to exist next to me? Among many reasons, one stood out. One I never would've considered. The smell. Not as in a stinky smell, but the strong scent of perfume or deodorant. Yeah... they very against that. An attack upon their sensitive nostrils. And I think I side with them on this issue. Not that I'd be against perfumes in general, but I've been in a couple of situations where I'm in public and there's someone with a really strong perfume next to me. Usually an older lady. I wonder what's up with that.
So that whole thing got me thinking about the kind of smells I like. Pleasant relaxing smells are nice. Lavender, soap, fabric softener... Gasoline... Yeah, gasoline. Shut up, dear diary! I like it! Leave me alone. But the thing is, when it comes to cosmetics, I much prefer the smell of things targeted towards women. Shampoo, soap, even perfume. So like, isn't the point of perfume that it's supposed to attract the other gender, or something? I'm sure that's not why all people wear perfume, but isn't that what they're supposed to do? Why do I know when I get in an empty elevator, that the smell of perfume belongs to a woman who just left? I guess I'm phrasing this poorly. My most sincere apologies, dearest diary. What I'm trying to say is, why are perfume gendered? I don't want to smell a man on myself. It feels to me like I have a man on me. I'd much rather smell like I have a woman near me. I suppose it wouldn't be very manly to wear women's perfume, but if they knew my reasoning for wearing it, they'd know I am, right? Sure.
Growing up I never felt particularly manly. I wasn't effeminate or anything, but my hobbies were always very different than the other boys I knew. While they were playing soccer, I was riding my bike. While they were watching soccer, I was watching sitcoms. While they were talking about soccer, I was talking to my online friends on videogames. You get the point. There's a lot of things I used to do that never quite lined up with the interest of my supposed peers. And that only got worse as I got older. When they were going out to parties and talking about how many girls they had been with, I was just so uninterested. Something about teenagers wanting to prove they're more grown up that they are, or trying to assert a certain level of manliness was always so awkward to me. Still is. Sometimes I notice them in public and I find it difficult not to cringe. Was I like that??? Probably. Yikes.
And now, back to our regularly scheduled nonsense.
30 DAYS OF YOGA (day 7)
And on the seventh day, He rested. I didn't, however. Earlier today I felt the soreness in my obliques catching up to me as I pulled out of the parking lot on the way to the supermarket. Maybe He was wise to take the seventh day off.
As this week went on, at some points I considered the idea of doing it in a group setting. Like a proper yoga class, or even tai chi. But today I was reminded of why that wouldn't be such a great idea, among many other reasons. Sometimes I have to actually stop mid cobra pose, or whatever, to adjust my junk. Like actually pause what I'm doing and make sure my balls aren't going to be crushed by my thighs or by the weight of my body. I can't imagine doing that in front of people. Or in front of a bunch of middle aged women, which is what American TV has led me to believe a normal yoga class consists of.
Week 1 in the baaaaaag. Namaste!
