#He is a good actor I am being honest. But his role for Steve doesn't fit.

So...Minecraft movie. Trailer. I wasn't aware that they were making a Minecraft movie. I've known about the Story mode version, but I didn't play it. I did once, but I didn't have the patience for it. I only played the original game.
The live action film is...Odd. The visuals, how it appears the graphics I will say, is the only good part. The sheep, are designed to look weird. I get why they try to keep them, as original as possible. But, the design, choice, the skin. It still does not look cute.
If there is a way to model them, to look cute. I suppose, it'll have to be digitalized like the Mario texture. Like cartoonish, but still keep their fluff. I think, it'll look better.
I remember, watching a movie, that had Adam Sandler in it, where it had the classic video game models in the real human world, looking like their original design. I remember it being a fun movie, and it worked.
The humans, in the Minecraft world. Where it looks realistic, looks strange. The character choice of their clothing...It's random. To me. They've had movies, where the humans turn into the characters, but sharpen it up, for the film. And it is shown to work well.
Jack Black, and his role as Steve. This is a big one, in my opinion. He suits better as a voice actor for any character, that he fits the role in. Ok, I have to be honest on this one. How I picture Steve.
The main character, in Minecraft. I think, Steve should be given a different actor. Jack Black is an amazing actor, and person. I think his role as Steve, does not quite fit. He'd have a boisterous personality.
Yet, for Steve, he is more muscular, athletic, and bold. Jack black doesn't match that aesthetic. He isn't as young, as he was.
And I think, a younger person should take on Steves role. Whoever it will be. Jack Black's role as Bowser, fit's, and it was fantastic. For Steve, it's not.
I think, that the film, looks rushed. If they were to make this successful. They have to Improve it. They have to Improve the mechanics, and make it accurate.
Some of the character models, such as the Creeper, still looks like a rag doll to me. They need to be solid, and mixed up, or something. They've got to be that more unsettling.
The Pigmen looks okay, but they have to be serious. And they have to be Intelligent. I think, the Movie do have to be worked on longer.
Those are my takes, about the movie so far.

Okay I'm a bit late to this but here's my headcanon voices. Hakari(Jonah Scott)Nara(Lori Alan)Jian(Fred tatasciore)Cadmus(Ben diskin)Koloss(Steve blum,I wonder why?)mako(Kevin Michael Richardson) mauler(Dee Bradley baker)seven(rob perlman)
Some interesting picks there! I can't say I personally agree with any of 'em, but I can definitely see why each actor was put where! There are roles for each of the suggestions you listed that I can point to and immediately get the kinda voice I think you might picture for these guys. Good stuff!
Below is my thought on each one:
Jonah Scott has the right tone of voice, young and soft and capable of being stoic or jittery, given what little I've seen from Legoshi, and what I've seen of Scott from other animes and his latest work as the main character Aiden in Dying Light 2. Though, I'd veer a little younger.
Lori Alan, sadly, I can't envision for Nara at all. Nara's a young, rowdy lady in her mid twenties, and Alan's both in her mid fifties and sounds like she's in her mid fifties. She's always had a very maternal voice, and the few times I've ever heard her play young characters, it's intentionally cartoonish, which wouldn't really jive with what I'm going for here.
Fred Tatasciore, I think I can see as Jian. He's a master at playing jolly mentor-types, especially with what we saw from AC2 as Uncle Mario. For me, I wanted someone who was actually an Asian actor in mind for Jian, same with Hakari, and in listening to June Yoon's work in GI, he basically had everything I loved about Tatasciore, but with way more authenticity, y'know?
Ben Diskin as Cadmus, I COULD actually see working pretty well, but I went with Ray Chase as my HC voice since he's got a lower, slightly deeper voice than Diskin that doesn't sound too raspy. Of the ones listed, Diskin and Scott are my two favorite "alternates" suggested though! :)
Steve Blum, I'll be honest, I don't picture him at all, even with his work as Croc in the Rocksteady Arkham games (Khary Payton >>>> Blum, I said it). Blum's got that deep, gravel down, but with Koloss, I picture someone a lil younger and more husky-sounding. Usually whenever Blum tries to sound like a "big guy," it tends to sound a little too exaggerated and comical.
Kevin Michael Richardson, ohhh my pal @twistedtummies2 is a HUGE fan of this man, and so am I, he's awesome and REALLY good at playing big dumb goofballs. He's even played King Shark at some point, if I recall correctly. But Mako's much, MUCH younger than that, so I don't necessarily think he'd work for a character like that, a big "dude bro" dolt. :P
Same reason Dee Bradley Baker wouldn't work for me with Mauler. Mauler's a teenager, even if he's a mutant. Baker works beautifully for raspy, slithery sounding monsters, buuuuuut not quite as much when that monster's also still kind of a kid in the process. That's why I thought of Kellen Goffe, since he's a young guy with a range for psychotic, grizzly characters. You wouldn't guess this horrifying freak was voiced by a then-23 year old. 'XD

As for the always amazing Ron Perlman, he's another really great pick that I could envision as a different variation of Seven, if that makes sense. Seven, physically, looks like a relatively young man, but his otherworldly essence could easily have an older, more distorted voice. I dunno if he can still do his Deathstroke voice now that he's in his seventies, but I could see him still being an eerily calm sort of badass, whose older voice paired with a younger mans body could even lend some extra eeriness to the character.
Just ask Suda51, y'all:

Anywho, thanks for the post! I always love readin' the possible picks and seeing what voices y'all picture for my OC's! :)
