“Hey, Dad, you’re one of five siblings too, right?” River asked aggressively.       As he realised he was being addressed, Strife looked up from his computer to see two of his sons glaring at each other. “Hm? Er, yes, why?” he answered cautiously, switching off the PC and getting out of his chair.      “I was just wondering if they were all such nosey busybodies too?” River spat, still glaring at Loch.      “Well, yeah.” Strife chuckled, leaning against the desk behind him. “I was a triplet of two sisters, remember. Though, I’m pretty sure it’s just a Karaish trait anyway.”      “Don’t bring me into this, I am the least nosy person possible,” Havoc said as she happened to walk past, not even stopping to look at any of them.      “Says the woman that practically has her own spy network of criminals,” Strife called after his mother.      “Touché,” she shouted back over her shoulder, and he laughed. The brief levity, however, had not deterred his sons.      “All I asked was if Oli was okay since I haven’t seen him in a few days,” Loch explained. “I was showing concern, you ass.”      “Yeah, well, fuck your concern,” River shot back.       Strife took a sip of his coffee and pushed himself off from the desk. He really should start working in the library, where fewer people would bother him. He’d been pulled into enough arguments similar to this with his sisters, and it was one hundred per cent never worth it. As he walked away, he heard them continue to yell at each other, and he shook his head; he sometimes swore the two of them were worse than any of the girls in the family.

“Nanna, I need permission to extend the basement.”      “What for?” Havoc asked her grandson curiously.      “Uh, well, for work purposes. It’s supposed to be classified... I-I can’t really say,” Loch stammered. Havoc repressed a grin; she already knew all about the work his company were doing on Artificial Intelligence, though she couldn’t let Loch know how she’d come by this information.       “Okay, give me a blueprint of the dimensions you need, and I’ll get some guys on it.”      “Really?” His face lit up with relief.       “Sure,” she chuckled. “As long as you can promise me anything you do down there won’t affect the integrity of this household.”      “Uh...” he looked at her sceptically.      “The structural integrity, Loch.”      “Oh! Uh, no, it shouldn’t,” he laughed nervously.

Last of the gameplay shots before Sky and River age up (Yay finally!)
I realised there was no science career available in Grey’s Harbour, which was the career I’d picked out for Loch. So, I quickly added the Bot Emporium into town, and threw in the rabbithole rug. So this where Loch works now :3
I forgot Havoc even had one of these. It’s called Mina, after my cat XD
Proud Nanny Lynn babysitting Heaven :3

“No wonder someone wrote what they did in the yearbook,” River said snidely under his breath as Loch rambled on about some technology or other to Havoc.      “River, don’t be so rude to your brother,” Strife admonished his son.      “Sorry,” River mumbled with a roll of his eyes. Whether he heard or not, Loch continued as if he hadn’t.

Havoc held back a grin as Sky nearly jumped out of her skin, managing to maintain her angry expression.      “Nanna, you made me jump!” Sky exclaimed, holding her chest. “Is... there a problem?”      “You pull a little stunt like that in my part of town again, there certainly will be,” Havoc stated, folding her arms. Sky’s mouth quickly snapped shut. “What, you thought I wouldn’t find out?”      “I-I didn’t think...”      “No, you didn’t think, did you? That’s my territory, I know everything that happens there.” She waited for Sky’s reaction, but she simply stared at her wide-eyed. “How do you think there was no evidence? Sure”—she held her hand up to stop Sky from interjecting—“you had the boy scared enough that he won’t talk, but evidence talks, Sky.” She watched the realisation dawn on her face.      “You... covered it up?”       Havoc chuckled. “Not me personally, no. I have people for that. But it won’t happen again.” Her face turned dark again. “You bring potential trouble to my territory again, I will throw you under the bus, family or not.” Sky scowled slightly.       “But—”      “No buts’, Sky,” Havoc snarled, and Sky jumped back at her sudden aggressive tone, her mouth snapping closed again. “Family only covers so many faults. You endanger me, my people, or my family again, then you face the consequences alone. Got it?” Havoc glared, and Sky nodded quickly. “Good. Go.” She sidestepped to allow her to pass, and Sky scurried off without looking back.

Havoc watched her go with a sigh. She’d promised herself she wouldn’t get involved with the upbringing of her grandkids, but it was obvious Strife and Lynn had no idea what they were dealing with when it came down to their daughter. Havoc had been just as bad at her age. Probably worse, actually. How had Ben coped with me? she wondered. Discipline. Sky needed discipline, something she was clearly not getting from her parents. If Havoc was the only person she was scared of enough, then she’d just have to be the one to keep her in line. Hopefully, this little wakeup call would be enough for her to realise her actions had consequences, not just for herself, but others around her.       She chuckled under her breath. It really hadn’t been much to cover up Sky and Bay’s actions, to be honest. Nor had they really brought much trouble to her people either. The area was well known for its criminal elements, but Havoc’s people were good at staying hidden. The police could look as much as they liked, they wouldn’t find anything. But it helped to remind Sky that there were worse people out there than herself, the kind that don’t take too kindly to people operating in their territory. Should be enough of a sobering thought for her.       She knew Sky would actually make a good addition to her organisation, but she didn’t want that for her granddaughter. Not if she could make a legitimate living in the world. She had plenty of opportunities, and Havoc knew she’d be happier pursuing music instead. She’d also overheard Amir speaking with her the day before. Love could certainly put you on the right path. Pascal had never asked Havoc to give up her job, but if he had, she would have done so in a heartbeat.

Application Form
For contestant in a Bachelor Contest for River Karaish
@wannabecatwriter @dandylion240 @goatkibble @sims-and-monsters @hureuf @histrionicsandtea @blythelyre @corianderpunch
Full Name: Is the applicant submitting himself? Y/N If not, name of person submitting application, and relation to applicant: Sexual Orientation: So obviously, must at least be both romantically and sexually attracted to males. Be this gay, bi, pan etc is fine. I will set this using Mastercontroller's "gender preference" numbers. Note, any orientation that is also attracted to females may have a slight disadvantage, as Sky will be around for the whole thing, as well as possibly Mist and Havoc at some point. Only a slight disadvantage though, as Loch and Bay will be there too, and all of them will have autonomous flirting turned off on their side. So the only disadvantage is if your guy flirts with them XD I mean, they're gonna be in a house with 7 other guys too, soooooo XD disadvantage is minimal XD Describe the applicant's personality in 5 words: Traits here, basically. Favourites Food: Favourite Colour: Bio: A description of your guy, a little background etc. Y'know, the usual. Be as creative as you like. The more information, the better I can portray them. Any additional information/notes: Particularly, if the bio was written in their words instead of 3rd person, then anything your guy wouldn't put themselves needs to go here, for my reference. Like any character flaw they wouldn't necessarily admit to, that kind of thing. Also anything else that doesn't fit in the bio/questions. What made you decide to apply?: /If application is being submitted by someone other than the applicant, why are you entering them?: Does the applicant believe in the supernatural?: Odd question to round off on, I know. Dragon Valley does not normally allow in visitors that aren't aware of the supernatural, but they have managed to get special permission for this. I need to know if your guy knows anything, though, so I know whether they'd be surprised by any weirdness XD
Ummm, I think that’s everything. I’ll put up something else if I remember anything. No deadline on getting the contestant to me for now. Don’t forget the rules I posted before ^^

Sky Karaish - File Update
Virtuoso
Evil
Mean Spirited
Ambitious
Hopeless Romantic
Sky auditioned for the local orchestra and was offered a place playing her violin. I was surprised Havoc did not offer a place in her organisation, instead she asked Sky’s partner, Amir Sielen, to encourage her to pursue a musical career.
I am told that Sky has calmed down in the last year or so. Apparently, Amir has been a good influence on her. Due to her unpredictability, however, I wouldn’t suggest her as heir.

River Karaish - File Update
Artistic
Hates the Outdoors
Perfectionist
Easily Impressed
Diva
River was approached by an agent after a gallery at the school, a lady by the name of Elle King. She has many connections in the art sphere, and has promised to get River’s work out there.
Apparently, he can be irritable and brooding, particularly when under a lot of stress or pressure. He can be especially snappy with those closest to him, something he usually immediately regrets. Havoc also tells me he can get very single minded during the run up to a deadline, occasionally forgoing meals and even sleep.
Havoc is unsure if his partner, Oliver Landgraab has moved into the household or not. Whilst he appears not to have done so formally, he is there often enough that he may as well have.
I suspect Havoc is leaning towards choosing River as heir. Genetically, he would make for a good heir, but emotionally he may be unsuitable. Whilst his relationship with Oliver seems solid, I would be concerned with how well it will last with the way River can behave.

Loch Karaish - File Update
Neurotic
Good
Loner
Perceptive
Computer Whiz
Loch has continued to be a very introverted and nervous person, to a level I now believe he may need help with. Havoc tells me he isolates himself frequently, and that he keeps things about himself very private.
His grades were exemplary and after graduation, in line with his love of technology, he was immediately hired by a local company working with computers and robotics.
Due to his nervous disposition and secretive nature, I would not suggest him as the next heir.

“Well, that was quick,” Strife said dryly, and Havoc chuckled.      “Mm. I don’t think I could have changed the boy’s mind even had I intended to.”      “Not that you would interfere.”      “Of course, of course.” She laughed as he shook his head, though sighed quietly to herself. “It might have been kinder, though. He’s sweet, naïve as he might be. But whether it’s true for Ash or not, I do think there might not be another person out there for Loch. Is that wrong of me? To choose my grandson’s wellbeing over his? Even if I think it will be right for them both in the long run... Is that fair?” Her son stared at Asher thoughtfully for a moment. “You really believe they will be fine?” he asked. “I’m almost certain of it. But if I am wrong...” “You usually aren’t.” “Hm.” She smiled unsurely. “Your idiot son is just lucky he’s found himself a different kind of idiot. Certainly a patient one.”      “I think that could apply to either son,” Strife said, smiling faintly as he looked out the window to the newlywed couple leaving in their taxi.      “You have three sons, dear.”      He briefly flicked his eyes her way with an unimpressed frown. “You know what I meant.”      She laughed. “Indeed, dear Sylvie might be the first person to fall for one of your kids and not immediately turn into a doe-eyed dumbass.”      “Mm. She’s nice. Good with the kid.”      Havoc sighed to herself, but before she could chide him, she frowned. “Your partner is trying to get your attention,” she said quietly.      “Hm?”      “Seems you got a call,” she said. His face paled as he exchanged a tense look with Lynn, and Havoc had a hunch she knew why. “Ah. I’ll go see if the honeymooners have gotten far, hm?”      “Please.”      A sharp nod each, and they strode off with purpose in opposite directions.

Asher shook his head. “I’ve seen other paths,” he said quietly. “I may not have my mother’s Sight, but... I just know. I don’t see a life without him.”      “Even if it’s not the one you pictured?”      “That life... it’s the one I wanted when I was a child. I wanted what my parents had. What we as a family had, for the most part. Now, if I try to look forward... I can see a life with just the two of us. It might not be easy—and nothing with Loch ever is,” he added with a dry laugh. “Still, it’s one where I can be happy. It’s gonna take some time adjusting, I won’t pretend it won’t, but I know I can adjust.”      “But if I try to picture one without him, it’s just blank. Removing him from the image, it feels like... like trying to pry out parts of myself. It doesn’t matter how many imaginary children I slot into the picture, it just feels... even more unwhole, and empty. I would be trying to fill that hole with the wrong person, just to fit my life into the shape I thought I wanted. That wouldn’t be fair on them, or me.” He met her eye with a weak smile. “I know what you’re going to say, but it won’t change anything. I already fell too deep a long time ago.”      Havoc’s brow quirked. “You have heard of the sunk cost fallacy, yes?”      Asher scoffed. “Yes. I don’t care if people think I’m crazy for it. Maybe it’s not the healthiest thinking, but I don’t care. Is it the life I pictured? No. But it’s the one I want now. Other people can judge me for it, make assumptions, think I’m making a mistake, but I’m the one that gets to decide that. Or Loch. No one else. And if I am wrong in the end... well, then I live with that. I won’t blame him for my choices.” He chuckled quietly to himself. “We wouldn’t have even made it this far if either of us were the type to do that.”      Havoc hadn’t stopped staring at him with those unsettling red eyes. Nothing about her expression had changed, so he couldn’t tell if she’d disapproved of anything he’d said. Still, he suspected she’d gotten whatever it was she was looking for.      “Mm. I see.” She stood abruptly, looking down at him with a grin that told him nothing. “Well, all I can wish you is good luck. A life with a Karaish seems fated for chaos, and whatever the future holds for you, I’m sure there will be plenty of surprises along the way. Enjoy your breakfast,” she added over her shoulder as she waltzed off.      Blinking, he watched her unceremonious departure with great confusion. Shaking his head, he decided to take the matriarch’s words as some form of approval and continued eating his bacon in lonely silence.

Asher squirmed under her unwavering gaze. “You know my mother, don’t you?”      The sudden change of subject seemed to actually catch her by surprise, and she raised a brow. After a momentary hesitation, she nodded. “We’re old friends. She helped my daughter when her powers manifested.”      “When Dad died. It’s like... like she didn’t know what to do without him. Barely spoke to anyone for a year. Practically became a recluse.”      “I can relate to that.” Havoc smiled sadly.       Asher nodded. “Loch said as much. That you shut yourself off for years after your husband passed. Even now, I don’t think Mum’s really the same. She always said, even with her Sight, she never saw my dad coming. He was never the kind of person she would have imagined falling for. I didn’t... didn’t really get that, as a kid. I guess I thought everyone ended up with who they’re supposed to end up with, so it wouldn’t be a surprise because everything would just fall into place. It would be easy, because it was right.” “Guess Loch taught you pretty quick how untrue that was, hm?” “Yeah.” He let out a small, self-deprecating chuckle with a little shake of his head. “But Mum also said at a certain point, she just knew, even if it wasn’t what she expected. It didn’t make things any easier, but they managed anyway. She didn’t care that he was older, that they might not have a family, that things weren’t always perfect. She couldn’t ‘see’ her own future, but... she trusted in something, all the same.”      Havoc watched him patiently with an odd smile, and he could feel her waiting for the question he was leading to.      “Did... you feel like that? Even... even knowing...” He gestured vaguely, fidgeting in his seat, hoping he wasn’t overstepping.      “Knowing I’d be stuck like this forever?” Havoc finished for him with a laugh, and he nodded awkwardly. She became very quiet and still. “I didn’t know. Not until we already had four children.”      “Oh.”      “But I understand what you mean. There is... Something feels different. Maybe it’s not like that for everyone, but it was for me, yes. But until you’ve experienced it truly, I also know it’s quite easy to convince yourself you’re on the right path.”

Asher slumped into his chair as he watched Loch walking away, letting down his easy-going mask. A sympathetic hand fell lightly on his shoulder, and Asher looked up to see Havoc. He returned her smile, but it slipped away far too quickly. Her head tilted curiously, and she took the seat opposite him.      “You... talked already? I thought you were going to wait until you got home?”      “So did I. Loch decided otherwise.”      For a moment, he was sure Havoc’s smile faltered. “Ah. And what did he have to say?”      “What I always knew,” he said flatly. “He doesn’t want kids.”      This time, the change was unmissable. She leant back into her chair, folded her arms, and frowned. “I... see. And? What did you say?”      “That it doesn’t change anything between us.”      “But you’re not okay.”      He took a deep, shuddering breath. “Honestly? No. But... I will be.”      “You’re allowed to grieve this, you know?”      “I know. And I am. But... I know him. If he sees that, he’ll run a mile. Think he’s saving me. I’m not losing him again to his own self-sabotaging brain.”      Havoc stared at him for an uncomfortable while, her poker face unreadable. When she spoke, her voice was deliberately neutral. “I hate to say this, as he is my grandson, but you know there are other men out there? Men that want exactly what you want?”      Asher shook his head. “I don’t care. I want him.”      “You say that now, but you’re only in your twenties. What about when you’re thirty? Forty? When it’s too late? Gonna regret it then? Are you going to resent him for a choice you made over twenty years ago?”
