Maggie is the eldest Dresden girl, born of Harry Dresden & Susan Rodriguez

She travels the world alongside her sister Bonnie. Where trouble occurs, she is not far behind. She is ruled by her heart, soft & just.

Any who judge her as naive would be a fool. Her cunning and knowledge make her someone never to be underestimated. And she is quite unforgiving to those she deems irredeemable.

Bonea “Bonnie” Silkke Dresden 📖 💀 😇 😈 _ the Nephilim of Intellect

Bonnie is the second-born Dresden, daughter of Harry Dresden and the Fallen Angel Lasciel through a piece of her named Lash. She was originally a spirit of intellect. Bonnie’s father, fearing for his daughter’s freedoms, was able to give her a physical body of her own.

Bonnie travels with her sister Maggie, usually as a skull perched on a wizard’s staff. She desires to gain knowledge in whatever category. That includes experiences which can only be done in person.

She chooses to stay in her skull because, according to others, her appearance “scares the ever-living hell out of people, vanilla or not.” Just looking at her ethereal beauty makes one feel they are looking into the abyss and sensing that something with teeth is grinning hungrily back.

Usually, Bonnie is a quirky and sweet lass with a repository of knowledge she easily shares with those she trusts. But in hostile situations, god forbid she comes out to play.

Faith “Faye” Justine Raith 💗💘💖💅 🌸 🌹 💰 _ Witch of Love

Faye, the daughter of Thomas & Justine Raith, was under the guardianship of her paternal uncle, Harry Dresden, since birth. The reason being *redacted*

Faye is a creature who exudes sweetness, charm, & charisma. Her playful girlish charm, however, is not all there is to her. Her sharp mind and dedication to her craft has allowed her to set up several thriving businesses within Chicago.

Jaqueline “Jackie” Rose Dresden 🗡️ 🩸😈👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨 👩‍⚖️ _ the Renegade Valkyrie

Jackie is the third-born Dresden scion, daughter of Harry Dresden and Karrin Murphy the Einherjar.

Jackie, despite being 5ft tall, is a force of nature, one who bucks at being controlled. Her blood sings during battle. She does, however, have a softer side. One that loves and desires to protect what matters. One who’d follow someone and something she truly believes in to the depths of hell.

She and her lover turned husband, Hendrick Gard, work as PI’s at her father’s firm. They also act as agents for her father’s less mundane territories.

Amanda “Mandy” Beckett Marcone 💀 👻 🥀 👩‍🦽👰🏻‍♀️👸🏻_ Goddess of Death & Rebirth

Amanda was born to Greg & Helen Beckitt. Her normal life was ended when she received a gunshot intended for another. Amanda languished in a coma on death’s door, her only real happiness when her guardian Johnny came.

Then it changed again. She felt better, but Johnny didn’t come as much. She soon however got a visitor.

It wasn’t until much later, after Amanda had woken up and was taken in by Baron John Marcone, that the young woman discovered the identity of her friend.

Zagreus, Greek god of Rebirth, son of Hades & Persephone, married his true love only after a very long, painful courtship. It would have been longer if not for Harry Dresden managing to persuade his consort Johnny to finally let the young couple marry.

The couple took their duties as gods quite seriously. However, they still managed to make frequent visits to visit their friends & relatives in Chicago.

Mandy blossomed under the love and protection of her family. She became a wise ruler with dedication, love, & serenity in her heart.

Malina “Mali” Alessandra Dresden 🌊 🌲🌆_ the Lady of Chicago

Malina is the youngest of her sisters, born from Harry Dresden after an “incident” with his now husband Gentleman John Marcone, Baron of Chicago.

Mali is a witch who feels a deep connection with Chicago. She is also a sweet girl who puts others first, often volunteering at local charities. Sweetness and goodness shine from her dollar bill green eyes.

If she needs to, she’ll fight. She won’t like it, but she will fight.

been slacking off on my fic announcement posts over here, oh no! 😂 Anyway, this is from back during the weekend I think, but in case you missed it and didn't want to miss it:

Part 9 of my Dresden/Marcone series - Early

The first time I woke up that morning, it was way too goddamn early. 

And I was still in Marcone’s bed. Naked. 

With an equally-naked Johnny Marcone. 

It took me a few minutes before I regained enough consciousness to actually process those little details, but my foggy brain did eventually manage piece together the bits of evidence into a complete picture. Big, comfy bed. Soft sheets. Every muscle in my body aching and tired, but without the generous collection of bruises and scrapes, and sometimes burns, that usually came with that state. 

The fact that my face was buried in a warm, bare neck that smelled faintly of the mob boss’s cologne. 

Still barely awake, I rolled away and got up, stumbling to the bathroom in the dark to go pee and gulp down some cool water. Marcone had, as threatened, had one hell of a good go at finding and then pushing the very limits of even my stamina before the night was through. And even though I blurrily remembered him occasionally stopping and insisting I drink water in the middle of it all, I was thirsty as hell again. 

It struck me, while I was shambling back towards the bed half asleep with my thoughts moving like molasses, that I could— in fact, I probably should— sneak out before Marcone woke up. Get out of there, get away from… whatever the hell this all was before I got any deeper into it. But I kind of… didn’t actually want to. And I was too tired and worn out from I don’t know how many orgasms to think about it any harder. 

Six? -ish? Five? Something like that, anyway. 

Plus, I still didn’t know where he’d actually put my clothes. Sneaky bastard.

A. Drakul spent two minutes talking to Harry and went: yeah, no, I'd rather kill him. Not even going to give him a join-up-or-die offer, because I can't stand the way he talks back.

B. Meanwhile Nicodemus spent years coming back, time and time again going out of his way to get Harry on his side. Even after multiple mutual murder attempts he just smugly rolls his eyes, talks through the nonsense that comes out of Harry's mouth, and goes: yes, I will take one more round with Dresden, thank you. Like, I'm sorry but that's a kink lol

325,828 total. 216,568 of that is Sandman that has been written since September 5 2022.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Fandoms I have posted fic for: The Sandman, Star Trek, Men's Tennis RPF Fandoms I have written fic for that will only ever live in the secret rooms of my mind palace hard drive: X-Men, The Vampire Chronicles, Harry Potter, Vampire Hunter D, Hellsing (the anime & manga) Fandoms I have written fic for that I might post someday: The Dresden Files

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

1. New Moon 2. high enough (you got me good) 3. Whispers to the Night <- the one that started me on this wild Dreamling ride 4. To Worship on a Marble Altar 5. Eros in Pragma Interesting note is that almost all of those are early in the Sandman/Dreamling fandom where there was more activity and less fics in existence.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I would LOVE to respond more to comments. I read all of them and treasure each one. However, spoons are limited and most of the time recently my brain is just not cooperating. I used to respond to every one and exhaust myself. Now I'd rather spend that energy reading and writing more. But when I am feeling like I am a shite writer and others do it better and why am I even continuing to do this I go back and re-read comments and it really does help.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I don't think I write angsty endings, tbh. The angstiest of those that are finished would probably be i will take me away. There is, however, one that will definitely be the angstiest once it is done. 😉

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I chronically write happy endings. I think my happiEST ending is Hypnopompia turtur, followed closely by high enough (you got me good)'s Chapter 4

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Nope! At least not yet... <.< >.> <.<

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

*CACKLES* Do I write smut? Do I write smut? Do I write smut? You would have an easier time counting the fics that do NOT contain any smut. You could count them on one hand. I mostly write BDSM and/or graphic smut. Lots of porn, sometimes plot.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Yes, rarely. I think my recent delve into Sandman+Ted Lasso with Keeper is pretty fucking weird (as much as I adore it).

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nope.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Also nope.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not that is published. I am currently collaborating with someone on future White Horse Mafia fics.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

Oh Christ, that is like asking what is my favorite bird. *pulls out laptop and projector and slides* In this TEDTalk, I will... Dreamling is definitely the one that has had the strongest grip on me in a very long time. Lestat/Louis is a classic I will never be completely over. Harry Dresden/John Marcone just thrills me for reasons I cannot fully pinpoint. Chris Pike/Ash Tyler from Star Trek also is very dear to me, as is Clint Barton/Loki from back at the start of the MCU.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

My Chris Pike/Ash Tyler/OC triad from Star Trek. I want to finish it in my heart, but I have lost the thread of it.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Apparently porn. At least that is what I gather from feedback from others.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Does comparing myself too much to other authors count? Like, too often looking at another person's fic and being like I want to BE THAT instead of embracing who I am and how I write. Does that make sense? It is one thing to be inspired by someone's work and try to learn from them, but sometimes I find myself wanting to try to change my WHOLE STYLE to try and be "more successful" or "more liked", whatever the fuck that means.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I avoid it unless I feel I really need it for Plot Reasons™. I will use Google Translate if the language is common, but also other websites for common slang phrases or dialects that Google Translate doesn't have. I am more than happy to have people correct me, though!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The Vampire Chronicles

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

OK, this is almost as hard as choosing my favorite bird... I really really love what I was able to achieve with the style of i had a dream (i got everything i wanted). I am so proud of Hob's first-person journal and a part of me will always wish it caught more people's attention. I still impress myself with the amount of world building I was able to cram into the less than 10k of find in me your rhythm and the less than 3k of Stay the Knight. What I was able to do with Hob's snarky voice in A Change in Tactics also cracks me up. But I think the one I am most proud of overall is You create me against your lips. It started out with a blurb inspired by an Instagram post and in the end will be the longest fic I have ever written and the longest fic I have ever finished by far. What is interesting is that most of these are decidedly NOT my most popular based on AO3 stats. Fascinating.

Fancasting is difficult for me, because I have issues seeing faces in my imagination, so thinking "X as Harry Dresden" doesn't really happen. I CAN imagine Adrian Brody as Harry and Heroes-era Clea Duvall as Murphy, though.

But my top, "What the fuck wait THAT'S PERFECT" casting is Kira and Kodama of the Black Joke manga as Marcone and Hendricks respectively.

Ugh in going insane. I'm halfway through battle ground and then my read through of the dresden files will be OVER. I started these books on a WHIM two months ago because we had a fucking 20 year old copy of storm front chilling in the library at home and literally no one knows a) how long it's been there or b) how it got there. My theory is mum bought it for dad in the naughties and he literally stuck it in his shelf and forgot about it.

ANYWAY I'm bored one day, see this book that's been hanging around for God knows how long, and I'm like. Lol a wizard named Harry written in the 2000s? Sure.

AND NOW IM OBSESSED. AND NOW IT'S NEARLY OVER. And I mean, at least there will be more books coming but WHEN?!

Also can I say how straight up UNHINGED Butcher is? The man sets shit up for pay-offs DECADES later. The man manages to write one of the most morally good characters I've ever seen without him being boring or uninteresting or uncompleted. The man manages to be both incredibly sexist and also write some kick ass female characters. Vaguely homophobic while writing a character who is very obviously a repressed bisexual (and have no clue hes doing it). Incredibly well done and nuanced characters while slapping you in the face with themes. This series has me fucking BONKERS.

I honestly don't know what I'm going to do when it's over. Probably reread skin game.

Harry having some private time: Overwhelmed

Yes, it's yet another one in the Dresden/Marcone series, I'm having too much fun with them 😇 Set right after the last one, no CW this time. I also tried a different Harry voice / POV for this one and I like how it turned out!

(and how I picture Marcone looking smug as hell about this if he ever found out:)

Harry’s distracted the whole drive home. 

By the time he’d come to his senses, back in that office, Marcone had already eased his pants back up for him and turned him around; carefully tucked him away and zipped up his fly. He’d even refastened Harry’s belt while Harry stood there dumbly watching it all happen, still twitching and shivering with leftover skittering shocks of pleasure. 

“You okay?” Marcone had asked gently, and Harry had nodded mutely, blinking, wide-eyed, as the head of Chicago’s mafia world stroked his cheek and jaw with an unexpectedly tender touch. “Remember, Harry… You just need to ask.” 

The words echo in Harry’s mind as he drives, a ghost of Marcone’s touch still tingling faintly on his flushed skin. He can feel it, almost as though it were still real. 

And far more real than those echoes is the constant reminder that he didn’t clean himself up before getting into the car.

To answer a few questions you might have in advance:

Can I read this if I haven’t read the Dresden Files?

Yes, totally! There are a few minor spoilers from book 1 & 2 but nothing big. If you are familiar with the general premise of the Dresden Files, you should be fine.

Can I read this if I haven’t read the Fetch Phillips Archives?

Technically, yes, but from the FPA perspective, this takes place after the third book, and there are some pretty significant spoilers alluded to. If you have no intention of reading the FPA or don’t care about the spoilers, you should be fine. However, I think if you like the Dresden Files, you should really give the Fetch Phillips Archives a go, and maybe save this fic after you read the first three books ;)

Nara you never seemed like a huge Wizardbaron fan, how come you wrote this ship? Can we expect more Harry x Marcone fics in the future?

I’m sorry for being so antagonistic about this. I have a real love/hate relationship with Marcone and this ship.

I get everything I ever wanted from enjoying Harry/Nic and Fetch/Niles. The reason why this fic ended up being Harry/Marcone is because they are much closer in vibe to Fetch/Niles, and I thought Marcone and Niles would get along pretty well. These ships and characters mirrored each other nicely so Marcone fit my idea better.

If I could have gotten away with making this Harry/Nic I would have, believe me.

I will always respect Wizardbaron enjoyers as the backbone of the DF fandom. And I also liked the idea of writing something that they could realistically enjoy without having to descend into the rarepair hell with me lol

I have no intention of writing more wizardbaron tho, sorry. Although as all fanfic writers know we have limited control of what we end up writing, am I right?

Also I re-listened to Even Hand while editing, and I highly recommend the audiobook version of that if you’re far enough into the DF series. It’s narrated by Mr. Author himself (btw I don’t know why I always call him that but you know, I think I’d better stick to Fae rules and don’t call him by his name on a fanfic lmao) and he clearly had so much fun with it. Certain implications for future theories aside it’s also one of the good parts with Marcone.

Anyway, if you read all that ramble i love you hope you enjoy the fic <3
