Als urlaubsbedingt stark verspäteten Gedenkfilm für den verstorbenen Harry Belafonte, sowie sinnigerweise als Vorbereitung für’s Musiktheater, wählten wir etwas vorhersehbar Otto Premingers todesmutige opernhafte Verfilmung von Oscar Hammerstein des Zweitens Musicalfassung von George Bizets beliebter Oper Carmen. Dem Tobi wir hier zwar zu arg geträllert, und noch nicht mal von ihnen selber, aber ich mag es wirklich gerne für die beherzte moderne Neuausdeutung, und tatsächlich auch dafür, daß sie einmal das “Die schwarzen Leute tanzen zu wildem Jazz”- Klischee nicht verwendet haben. Hier tanzen sie Walzer. In Lillas Pastias Bar.  Und Harry sieht wirklich sehr, sehr gut aus.

Alice In Wonderland

I feel like when everyone was little they Alice In Wonderland, watched them movie, or just heard the story in general but growing up and reading it again this year was a whole different experience. Having a better understanding of Alice’s character and the jokes and the wording made the read so much fun. I also love that Alice is so real, there were so many moments in the book where I found myself relating to her a lot, equal amount as face palms, but just seeing a teenage girl being portrayed as just a free and curious kid was so fun. She’s so girlboss and I loved it.
