in addition to this weekend's regular race events, COTA is also hosting two MotoAmerica King of the Baggers races, which will be available to watch live for free on the MotoGP youtube channel! here's the schedule and some information about the series.
KotB is a very popular class in the MotoAmerica system, mostly due to the pure novelty of watching "bagger" bikes modified for racing.
the Baggers class debuted in 2020 and currently runs two manufacturers: Harley Davidson, which equips one factory team and leases to three independent teams for a total of eight riders; and Indian Motorcycles, which equips one factory team and three independents for a total of five riders. the full thirteen-man grid will compete at COTA this weekend in a championship event, separate from usual MotoAmerica weekends. the event structure is slightly different compared to other classes: there are two full races and one "challenge" event that immediately follows qualifying. during the challenge, the six fastest riders from quali advance for a 3-lap sprint with a $5,000 prize.
though it's a quaint concept for a series, it's beloved by MotoAmerica fans and legitimately entertaining! the bikes hit top speeds of 185 mph and feature close and tense racing -- it is insane to watch a full 635lb harley pitch over in a corner and pass someone. i'd definitely recommend tuning in!

Dean's only ever wanted to race. He grew up following his dad around the US, watching and then racing flat track. It's all he knows. But then he almost screws everything up, partying too hard and getting into trouble. He doesn't know if he deserves the second that a sponsorship with Harley Davidson could be, but he knows he's not gonna mess it up this time. Even if that means playing nice with his new PR rep, one Castiel Novak, resident stick in the mud. Castiel hates flat track with a passion. He's worked his way up the Harley Davidson food chain, he gets to pick his clients, he shouldn't have to deal with this. But he is the best at what he does, so he's stuck with Dean Winchester, a rising star in the flat track world with a penchant for getting himself into trouble. It's just one summer. Surely he can get through this.
Keep reading for a sneak preview!
“Good afternoon Zach. What did you want to talk about?” Zach grinned, his attitude never affected by Castiel’s desire to cut through the bullshit pleasantries. And he’d tried. “Well, as it so happens, we have quite the exciting opportunity for you! You know you’re our favorite PR person right? Always so efficient and you always know the best spin to put on things.” Castiel sighed, not liking this at all. “Go on.” He took a seat before Zach’s desk, notepad at the ready. “We’ve got a new rider for the Factory Harley Davidson flat track team-” Castiel’s head snapped up, mood no longer apathetic. Surely he didn’t hear that right. “I don’t work with the flat track side of things.” “Not usually, no.” “No, not ‘not usually’, I don’t. I never have, and I have no desire to start now. Why isn’t… whatever this is, being offered to Tessa?” “Tessa is about to go on maternity leave, and this is a bit more of a… hands on project than usual. Let me explain.” Pressing at the bridge of his nose, Castiel nodded. “Please, explain.” “We have a new rider, and he’s very talented. Very promising career, even though he’s a bit older than our usual new crop. Unfortunately he’s a little… rough around the edges.” “That’s hardly a new occurrence for Harley, particularly the racing crowd.” “Rough around the edges includes assault charges and public intox.” At Castiel’s incredulous look, Zach spread his hands in deference. “What can I say, apparently the degenerate is a great racer.” “What would my involvement be?” “We need someone on the scene to wrangle him, keep him out of trouble. The big wigs really think he’ll help the image for some reason, so it’s our job to keep them happy and him out of trouble.” “Well, that sounds like an excellent place for you to start on your pitch for Ketch or Frank. I’ll pass.” Castiel started to rise. Zach leaned forward, suddenly all the salesman charm gone from his voice. “Perhaps, I haven’t been clear enough Castiel. This is not optional. You have been assigned to this project, and your choice is to take it, or to take a position mopping floors in the showroom on floor one. Your call.” All the ibuprofen in the world was not enough for this, Castiel thought miserably. He sank back into the chair. “Fine. Tell me about this rising star of the flat track world."

This Harley-Davidson motorcycle is powered by a 750cc side valve ball bearing racing engine. The WR model was a factory built special racing bike. There were 292 WR’s built in 1948. The WR motor featured a ball bearing crankshaft and ball bearing cams. A special vertical mount Wico magneto was used to make speed. This WR as a narrow tank TT special using front and rear brakes. The bike has 100% original components and can be called a true “off the track survivor” the bike is in perfect running condition.

Harley-Davidson Enthusiast Collection Introduces Fast Johnnie
High-Performance 1960s and ‘70s Muscle Cars Inspires Limited-Edition Trio of Motorcycles. Harley-Davidson celebrates muscle car culture and its racing heritage with the introduction of Fast Johnnie, the 2023 addition to the Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection of limited run bikes featuring factory-direct custom paint and graphic treatments. Executed in Celestial Blue with white racing stripes, this special Enthusiast Collection paint scheme is offered factory-installed for three 2023 Harley-Davidson models: the Low Rider® ST, the Street Glide® ST and the Road Glide® ST motorcycles, with combined production limited to no more than 2,000 models globally.
Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection models celebrate Harley-Davidson riders and are inspired by their stories and legacies. The Fast Johnnie paint scheme taps into iconic design themes featured on high-performance muscle cars and pony cars of the 1960s and 1970s – contrasting “racing” or “rally” striping over a bold base colour, and a clever or symbolic character or logo incorporated into the graphics package. Both elements served to create an obvious visual difference between the high-performance version of a car and the standard version of the same model. The Fast Johnnie character applied to the left side of the fuel tank also appears on the Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle® factory team motorcycles raced in the MotoAmerica King of the Baggers series. It was inspired by the story of a piglet named Johnnie adopted in 1920 by Harley-Davidson racer and member of the infamous “Wrecking Crew,” Ray Weishaar, which became a team mascot. The piglet often perched on a motorcycle fuel tank for a post-race victory lap and is usually cited as the source of the “Hog” moniker that to this day is often applied to anything Harley-Davidson.
“The striping graphic effect is a powerful signal to the generation that came of age during this era, and is still impactful today,” said Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson Vice President of Design and Creative Director. “The Celestial Blue base colour selected for Fast Johnnie recalls a popular tone from the muscle car era. For the graphic striping, we created a custom white colour formulated to authentically reflect the era, executed in a classic thin-wide-thin pattern on the sides and top of the motorcycle bodywork. The look is a nod to pure Americana.” On the tank and front fender “Harley-Davidson” script replaces one of the thin stripe elements. Depending on the motorcycle model, the striping is applied to the front and rear fenders, the fuel tank top and sides, the front of the fairing and the side covers and saddlebags. The Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection logo is on the rear fender.
Low Rider® ST Fast Johnnie Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection Strap down your bedroll and make a run for the border. The Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® ST model is an American V-Twin sport-touring bike for the rider who digs clean-and-lean West Coast style and craves the outrageous performance of the Milwaukee-Eight® 117 V-Twin powertrain. The Low Rider® ST model connects these riders with pure Harley-Davidson attitude. Mechanical features are identical to the 2023 Low Rider® ST model. Special Styling Features - Celestial Blue with custom white detailing - Enthusiast Collection logo on rear fender - Graphic on both sides of the fuel tank – Fast Johnnie on left, Bar & Shield on right
Street Glide® ST Fast Johnnie Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection Elevated pro-touring bagger performance and style for the rider who just can’t get enough of either. The Street Glide® ST model pairs the muscular Milwaukee-Eight® 117 powertrain with tough West Coast styling influences and new dark-and-bronze finishes topped off with Screamin’ Eagle® exhasut. Undiminished comfort and the iconic batwing fairing appeal to the traditionalist mindset. Meet the new breed of speed and style from Harley-Davidson. Mechanical features are identical to the 2023 Street Glide® ST model.
Road Glide® ST Fast Johnnie Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection The sleek Road Glide® ST model projects more menace than ever and backs it up with the street-scorching power of the Milwaukee-Eight® 117 powertrain along with Screamin’ Eagle® exhaust. West Coast styling elements and black-and-bronze finishes set this bike apart from the performance bagger crowd. Legendary comfort and the “sharknose” fixed fairing appeal to a rider who wants to make quick work of the open road. Mechanical features are identical to 2023 Road Glide® ST model. Road Glide ST and Street Glide ST Special Styling Features - Celestial Blue with custom white detailing - Screamin’ Eagle® exhaust - Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection logo on rear fender - Graphic on both sides of the fuel tank – Fast Johnnie on left, Bar & Shield on right - Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories offers colour-matched King Tour-Pak® luggage carrier, Chopped Tour-Pak® luggage carrier, and saddlebag speaker lids.

Harley Exhaust Fitment Chart: A Comprehensive Guide
Harley Exhaust Fitment Chart, System is one of the most popular modifications riders make to enhance performance, sound, and style. However, finding the right exhaust that fits your specific Harley model can be daunting, given the variety of options available.
This article provides a comprehensive guide to understanding Harley exhaust fitment, helping you choose the perfect exhaust system for your bike.
Understanding Harley Exhaust Fitment
1. Why Fitment Matters Fitment refers to how well an exhaust system fits onto your Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Proper fitment ensures that the exhaust functions correctly, avoids damage to the bike, and provides the best performance. An ill-fitting exhaust can lead to issues like leaks, poor engine performance, and even damage to other components.
2. OEM vs. Aftermarket Exhausts When upgrading your Harley’s exhaust, you’ll encounter two main types of systems: Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket exhausts. OEM exhausts are designed by Harley-Davidson specifically for their bikes, ensuring perfect fitment and compatibility.
On the other hand, aftermarket exhausts offer more variety in terms of style and performance but require careful consideration of fitment.
How to Use a Harley Exhaust Fitment Chart
A Harley exhaust fitment chart is an essential tool that helps you match your bike's model and year with compatible exhaust systems. Here’s how to use it:
1. Identify Your Harley Model and Year Before consulting the chart, know your bike’s exact model and year. Harley-Davidson has produced many models over the years, each with specific exhaust requirements.
2. Understand Exhaust System Types Different exhaust systems, such as slip-ons, full systems, and 2-into-1 systems, offer various performance and aesthetic benefits. The fitment chart will categorize compatible systems by these types.
3. Match the Fitment Once you’ve identified your model, locate it on the chart and check the compatible exhaust systems listed. Pay attention to any notes or exceptions, such as necessary modifications or additional parts.
4. Consider Other Factors While the chart provides the primary fitment information, also consider factors like the exhaust’s material, finish, sound level, and whether it meets legal requirements for noise and emissions.
Popular Harley Exhaust Systems and Their Fitments
1. Vance & Hines Vance & Hines is a popular aftermarket brand known for high-performance exhaust systems. Their fitment charts typically cover a wide range of Harley models, from the Sportster to the Touring series.
2. Rinehart Racing Rinehart Racing exhausts are another favorite among Harley riders. Known for their deep, throaty sound, Rinehart offers systems tailored for specific models like the Softail and Road Glide.
3. Screamin’ Eagle As Harley-Davidson's in-house performance brand, Screamin’ Eagle exhausts are designed to perfectly fit Harley models while providing performance boosts and maintaining factory warranties.
Common Fitment Issues and Solutions
1. Clearance Issues Sometimes, even with a fitment chart, exhaust systems might have clearance issues, especially if you've modified other parts of your bike. Always test-fit the exhaust before final installation and consult a professional if needed.
2. Exhaust Bracket Compatibility Some exhaust systems may require specific brackets or mounts that aren’t included with the exhaust. Ensure you have all necessary hardware before starting the installation.
3. Legal Considerations In some regions, exhaust systems must meet certain noise and emission standards. Always check local laws to ensure your chosen exhaust is compliant.
Conclusion
Choosing the right exhaust for your Harley-Davidson is a crucial decision that affects your bike’s performance, sound, and appearance. By using a Harley exhaust fitment chart and understanding the basics of exhaust systems, you can make an informed choice that enhances your riding experience.
Whether you opt for an OEM system or explore aftermarket options, proper fitment is key to getting the most out of your upgrade.

From Snow Glide to Road Glide: Introducing Harley-Davidson’s 2024 Factor...
youtube
They tried to skis on the side bags and it works very well you can't make them too wide or just sit on top of the snow but boy keeps it up and it's nice and I also he challenged the two riders with the people who are introducing it they put the fat tires on and they beat them on any terrain with the same tire they beat them on the race course and they had an Enduro fat tire about 12 in and completely toasted them off-road and ruined them on the drag race and as the snow vehicle it's almost second to none the motors just keep going and everybody's doing it. I found out something new today the factory is restarted a couple weeks ago but no they started up 90% of the factories of Harley-Davidson and 80% of the closed ones of the foreign jobs in 2 days you got all the plants ready to start going when you heard it and didn't get ahead at all he's actually started making it a ton of it and still is not ahead and the Chinese are making it they have big bikes they don't have that many but they're making it for elsewhere and giant numbers of them coming here huge huge numbers it's my exper the torque makes the flight with a turbine possible and they do use turbines and he said oh yeah it's a massive massive massive day it's going to be one of the best days we've ever seen and you would not believe how many vehicles they made of these Harley-Davidsons it's ridiculous and we said it before about a whole bunch of stuff but really think I'm nuts and they have to tell each other and show each other but they are doing it it is up around 20 trillion globally but this time they're going to go ahead and they're going to go ahead because it's a success and you'll see the video and they'll know that it works real well it's heavy but the thing moves out and when you get going it stays up and sits down the snow and it packs it and you start out and it doesn't stop unlike the Asian brands
Thor Freya you keep a small cowl and you can plow right underneath the snow sometimes like eight feet deep and you go on the side snow tunnel and to come up every once in a while and people say it's a trip cuz it works

The Motorcyclist’s Guide to Insurance
You know spring is here when you start up and hear the rumble of your motorcycle. And then you take your bike out and get the rush of fresh air in your face; The pure joy of riding your motorcycle on bright sunny day!
There’s nothing quite like driving a motorcycle. You never know what is around the next corner, or bend, and the last thing you want is a spill, or accident with your bike. Any good motorcycle owner, or enthusiast, will have good insurance from a great insurance company to protect yourself, your riders, and your bike!
At Dtown Insurance, we have access to great motorcycle carriers like: American Modern, Encompass, Foremost, Progressive, and Hagerty for the classic motorcycle collector.
Our Guide to Motorcycle Insurance
Types of Motorcycles That Can Be Covered
You took great care in selecting the perfect ride, right? Whether you ride a touring bike, sport bike, cruiser or standard, the proper insurance coverage can make sure you’re protected no matter what ride you choose. What is the right ride for you?
Cruiser: Cruiser motorcycles mimic the style of earlier American motorcycles from the 1930s to the early 1960s, such as those made by Harley-Davidson and Indian. Although cruisers have benefited from advances in technology and metallurgy, the basic design is still very similar to early motorcycles, and they offer an easy ride. Off-Road: Off-road motorcycles generally are light weight with small displacement engines. The suspension travel is longer than a typical motorcycle, with higher ground clearance. Their construction is rugged, simple and without bodywork and fairings. Standard: Standard motorcycles are, as the name implies, more basic. Riding positions typically are upright and similar to that of a cruiser, but with foot pegs placed farther rearward. The riding position, coupled with better ground clearance than a cruiser, gives standard motorcycles better handling characteristics. Engine displacements are smaller than those for cruisers. Sport: Sport class motorcycles are light and powerful. These bikes benefit from advances in design and technology intended for racing; however, they are not considered racing specification machines. Some of the best bikes in this class are the Suzuki GSX-R1000 and the Kawasaki ZX-10R. Touring: Touring motorcycles are among the longest and heaviest motorcycles, often weighing more than 800 pounds. Touring motorcycles offer wind protection for the rider, high-capacity fuel tanks, the ability to carry luggage and an upright riding position that is comfortable for long distances. Think BMW GS or the Honda Gold Wing. Trike (Reverse Trike): Trikes are typically cruiser or touring two-wheel motorcycles that are converted to three-wheel units. Also in the class are factory made bikes with two wheels in the front. The Can-Am and the Polaris are two great rides in this category.
Insurance Coverages
Your insurance coverage should be as personalized as your bike. Do you just want to protect yourself and your passengers? What about the bike itself? Do you want roadside assistance also?
Property Damage Liability and Bodily Injury: Coverage protects you if someone is injured as a result of an accident or covers damage to the property of others by your motorcycle. Comprehensive: Coverage pays for damage to your personal motorcycle due to something other than a collision, such as a fire, theft, hail or vandalism. Collision: Pays for damage to your motorcycle resulting from a covered accident. Medical Payments: Coverage pays the cost of medical care you receive as a result of a motorcycle accident and can be used regardless of who is at fault.
Uninsured and Underinsured: Protects you and your passengers from bodily injury caused by other drivers without adequate auto insurance. This is a must have today!
Discounts
Most insurance carriers offer a discount for bundling your motorcycle insurance with another insurance policy with them, like auto or home insurance. It is always better to bundle your motorcycle insurance with auto and/or home insurance. This provides a one stop shopping experience with one premium and one carrier. Many carriers offer a discount if you complete a safe rider training course and also a discount for “winter layup,” for the winter season when you store your bike in the garage. Another suggestion is to reduce, or lower, your limits of liability when your bike is in storage during the winter months.
Tip:
The best time to buy, or upgrade, a motorcycle is the month of February. February has shorter days(think sales and demo rides), and also the dealerships are getting ready for the rush of new and returning riders as the weather starts warming up.

Mission King Of The Baggers, BellissiMoto Twins Cup And Mission Super Hooligan National Championship Classes Join The Daytona 200. MotoAmerica, North America’s premier motorcycle road racing series, has announced a total of 143 entries for the three classes that kick off the 2024 MotoAmerica Championship at Daytona International Speedway, March 7-9. The 82nd running of the Daytona 200 will feature 67 riders with 28 of those from outside the United States. The race can also boast of three past Daytona 200 winners (Josh Herrin, Brandon Paasch and Danny Eslick) on the 2024 entry list. But the Daytona 200 isn’t the only race happening at the Speedway as the Mission King Of The Baggers, BellissiMoto Twins Cup and Mission Super Hooligan National Championship will also be in action on the high banks at the “World Center Of Racing” for what will be the start of their championship seasons. The entry list for Mission King Of The Baggers is 16-riders strong, and it features defending class champion Hayden Gillim aboard his RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson as he battles against rivals Kyle Wyman and James Rispoli who represent Harley-Davidson Factory Racing. The other American Big Twin motorcycle company, Indian Motorcycle, are represented by Tyler O’Hara, who is teamed up this year with fellow S&S/Indian Challenger rider Troy Herfoss, a three-time Australian Superbike Champion who will be making his Daytona debut. And speaking of riders from other countries, the pride of Andorra, a MotoGP podium finisher, as well as a World Supersport and World Superbike multi-time race winner, Rubén Xaus is all-in on his Feuling Parts Harley-Davidson. He’ll have to face Bobby Fong, who is back aboard his SDI/Roland Sands Racing/Indian Challenger. Then there’s the three-rider Saddlemen/Harley-Davidson team with Cory West, Jake Lewis, and Travis Wyman. And let us not leave out the surprise signing of the off-season with Hayden Gillim’s teammate Rocco Landers also aboard a RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson. Mad Monkey Motorsports’ Max Flinders is hopeful of duplicating or improving on his podium result from the last KOTB race in New Jersey in 2023 and Trask Performance is fielding Shane Narbonne. Indian insider (he’s an engineer) Kyle Ohnsorg is back aboard a Challenger after a podium-reaching performance at COTA last year. Flat tracker Jesse Janisch is bringing his sideways-sliding style to the Suburban Motors H-D/Slyfox/Trask Performance team. And they will all be joined by Danny Eslick, the four-time Daytona 200 winner who will be aboard his Nowaskey Extreme Performance Harley. Meanwhile, 25riders have entered the BellissiMoto Twins Cup series opener with two races around the 3.51-mile, 12-turn Daytona road course. Defending Twins Cup Champion Blake Davis will start the season as the favorite on his Yamaha YZF-R7, but he will face a considerable challenge from both Aprilia and Suzuki-mounted riders. The Suzuki attack is led by Team Hammer’s Rossi Moor on the new Suzuki GSX-8R with Vance & Hines also fielding Rocco Landers on a GSX-8R. Aprilia, meanwhile, will be well represented by Robem Engineering’s Gus Rodio, who will be teamed up with Italian Alessandro Di Mario and wild-card New Hampshirite Ben Gloddy, who is returning to the team for at least one round (and maybe more?). And, speaking of Italy, new team TopPro Racing has brought in Romeo Chiavini to pilot an Aprilia. Those four will be joined by eight more Ape-riders ready to go “660” on the field of 25. Along with Davis in the Yamaha YZF-R7 camp are former class champion Kaleb DeKeyrel, South African Dominic Doyle, and his Giaccmoto Racing Yamaha teammate Sonya Lloyd, who raced in last year’s Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. program, and British-racer-living-in-Canada Jack Roach returns to MotoAmerica after a hiatus of a couple of years. Thirty-five riders have entered the series opener for the Mission Super Hooligan National Championship with that class featuring 12 different manufacturers doing battle. Making its debut at Daytona is the Yamaha MT-09 SP, a three-cylinder motorcycle that will be piloted by three different riders, including Italian-born, Switzerland-residing FIM Endurance World Championship-winning rider Niccolò Canepa. Defending class champion Tyler O’Hara is back aboard his S&S/Indian FTR1200, Andy DiBrino returns aboard his Competition Werkes/Gray Area/KTM 890 DUKE R, and Stefano Mesa will once again be aboard his Tytlers Cycle Energica Eva Ribelle RS electric bike. Plus, there are seven Harley-Davidson Pan Americas, a couple of BMW R nineTs, two Ducatis, a pair of Suzuki SV1000s, an Aprilia Tuono, a Buell XB12XT, and even a Victory Vegas in the mix.
