A Picnic in the Crags
As the June heatwave continued, we set off on a midweek walk and picnic.  After visiting the store for pop, we proceeded to Foster Mill Bridge and down to Hebden Water.  May flowers fading, small white and pink blooms dotted a sea of emergent greens. Crossing at the weir, birds hopped on dappled water.  As Phil lagged on the long steps, I waited at the top, transfixed by slender stems supporting…

"When teenage girls are finally finding their voices, they can be forgiven for misplacing the volume dial. As such, Theo and Holly's full-throated rendition of 'How Soon Is Now' demolished the emerald tranquility of Hardcastle Crags."

Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe pop art piece
Tumblr media
Unity and variety- Unity helps to give the artwork a sense of completeness. All the parts of the art work work together as a whole. Variety in art is the use of different elements to help create a dynamic and engaging piece.

Still Life with Compotier, Pitcher, and Fruit, Paul Cezanne, 1892-1894

Jacob Lawrence, Going Home Figure 4.4
Tumblr media
Jacob Lawrence’s artwork Going Home includes bold colors, strong lines, geometric shapes, patterns and repetition. Simplified and abstract forms are used to emphasize the scene. Some of the human figures are hunched over evoking emotion. The use of luggage suggests that there is travel involved.

I love the colors green and blue. I love going to the beach because it is a calming place and the colors of the ocean are shades of greens and blues. These hues to me create a tranquil environment. The saturation of the colors change with the time of day, with the morning light bringing out the brightness of blues and greens , and  night bringing out the more calm blues of the ocean and sky. The colors blue and green give a sense of peacefulness. If I had to choose a color scheme for my life it would be around the different shades of blue and green, symbolizing calmness, balance, and harmony.

Still life
Tumblr media
This still life has a stick balancing on a stone, with a feather on one side and a stone on the other. The fact that the feather and stone sides are shown as having the same weight symbolizes that balance can be achieved through different methods. It also gives a view that appearances can be deceiving. This could suggest that strength or value is not always about physical weight or size, but rather about finding balance.

Hardcastle Crags. Managed to dodge the raindrops this morning and take a short walk along the main track at #hardcastlecrags . It was a grey winter morning and the light was subdued. Shot all these images using the #classicneg film simulation as I thought it reflected the general gloom and winteryness (real word). They have a certain beauty to them even on such a grey, damp day. #fujixt4 #fujfilmxt4 #fujifilmxf33mmf14 #fujifilmxf56mm #calderdale #hebdenbridge #winter #landscapephotography #yorkshire #yorkshirephotographer https://www.instagram.com/p/CmzILiLIZgR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

All the night gave her, in return For the paltry gift of her bulk and the beat Of her heart, was the humped indifferent iron Of its hills, and its pastures bordered by black stone set On black stone.
