I love this number especially because this was one of the few times for a film that Fred and Ginger tap danced on a wooden floor. They enjoyed the experience much more because their tap sounds were louder and more rhythmic with the music, the way they are when practicing in the studio.

You can hear them laughing over the music at points! I love to hear them having fun while dancing together because it does look so fun!

otis redding has so much range in the personality of his singing. like the difference between his personality in hard to handle (fuckboy) vs dock of the bay (despairing) is crazy, and he does all of it with a ton of depth and soul in his vocals.

also it's crazy how much the standard for what a radio-friendly pop music voice sounds like. Like in terms of enunciation and "soul" and how perfectly in tune the vocals are expected to be
